Falcons’ fixes (part 3): Sign Grimes, Lofton; balk on Abe
Ryan will not return after injuring his right big toe in the first quarter. He was wearing a walking boot on his right foot and a black warmup suit on the sideline in the second half.
Turner aggravated a right ankle injury in the third quarter. The team said he would not return.
Turner started after missing one game with a right ankle sprain.
Ryan left after the team's first offensive series. He showed no sign of the injury while in the game, but was limping when escorted to the locker room. He was back on the sideline at the end of the half.
Ryan received attention from trainers on the sideline and tested the foot before backup Chris Redman entered the game on the team's second possession. Redman had his first pass attempts since 2007.
The Falcons also had starting offensive guard Harvey Dahl leave with ankle and Achilles' tendon injuries in the second quarter. He appeared to be favoring his left ankle as he walked to the locker room at the end of the first half. The team, which did not disclose which leg he injured, said Dahl was questionable to return.
Tampa Bay starting receiver Michael Clayton left the game with a knee injury in the first quarter. The team did not disclose which knee he injured.
