Betting windows open: Nevada says Falcons miss playoffs
● After a short week, the Falcons get a full week in before facing San Diego at 8 p.m. Saturday in the home opener at the Georgia Dome. The game will be nationally televised.
● Monday is the last day of two-a-day practices, signaling the end of training camp.
● Running back Thomas Brown (leg) and safety William Moore (knee) could return to action this week.
● Falcons coach Mike Smith likely will announce his quarterback rotation for the Chargers game late in the week.
● Starters are expected to play at least half of the game against the Chargers.
A look back
● Starting cornerback Chris Houston suffered a hamstring injury and did not practice all week. Chevis Jackson started in his place against the Rams.
● Defensive end Chauncey Davis moved ahead of Jamaal Anderson at left defensive end. Anderson, who has two sacks in 31 starts, is working on some new pass-rushing techniques.
● Falcons unveiled the throwback uniforms that they will wear in home games against Carolina (Sept. 20) and Tampa Bay (Nov. 29).
● Falcons defeated the Rams 20-13 to improve to 1-1 in the exhibition season.
