G-Braves pile 15 runs on Columbus

The Gwinnett Braves jumped on Columbus starter Zach Jackson for seven runs in the first inning, added three more in the second and rolled to a 15-4 road victory over the Clippers on Saturday night.

Reid Gorecki led off the game with a triple, one of five extra-base hits in the first inning. Gorecki also had a double in the first. Alvin Colina hit home runs in the first and the second innings, driving in five runs.
After their seven-run first, the G-Braves added three in the second, three in the fifth and two in the eighth.
They scored 13 runs and had 17 hits (nine for extra bases) in the first five innings. Chris Burke had four of the hits.
Burke and Gorecki each was 4-for-6, and Colina and Brandon Jones had three hits apiece.
G-Braves starter Jo-Jo Reyes continued his minor-league rehab stint with a strong outing. He pitched seven innings, allowing five hits and no runs. He walked one and struck out one.
Jackson lasted 1-1/3 innings and allowed 11 hits, 10 earned runs and two homers.
The Clippers finally scored in the eighth. Francisley Bueno relieved Reyes and allowed the first two batters to reach base, on a walk and a double.
After one out, Jordan Brown singled home both base runners.
They added two in the ninth on a homer by Damaso Espino with no outs.
