The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Franks Wren has made 15 trades in his first 26 months as Braves general manager, which is about par for the course. John Schuerholz made 15 deals in his last two years before yielding to Wren. But Tuesday's Javier Vazquez trade offered itself for second-guessing like few others over the Braves' last decade.

A glimpse at the best and worst trades under Wren's watch.

The Good

Oct. 28, 2007: Acquired from Detroit RHP Jair Jurjjens for OF Gorkys Hernandez, SS Edgar Renteria, cash

Same franchise that sent John Smoltz south got robbed again.

Dec. 12, 2007: Acquired from Chicago Cubs INF Omar Infante and LHP Will Ohman for RHP Jose Ascanio

Fringe deal yields a .300 second baseman.

June 3, 2009: Acquired from Pittsburgh OF Nate McLouth for RHP Charlie Morton, OF Gorkys Hernandez, LHP Jeffrey Locke.

A solid player under contractual control through ‘12

The Bad

July 28, 2008: Acquired from the Los Angeles Angels 1B Casey Kotchman and RHP Steve Marek for 1B Mark Teixeira

A very limited return, even for a contract dump

July 10, 2009: Acquired from the New York Mets OF Ryan Church for OF Jeff Francouer

A no-win proposition but Church was just awful.

Dec. 22, 2009: Acquired from the New York Yankees OF Melkey Cabrera, RHP Arodys Vizcaino, and LHP Michael Dunn for RHP Javier Vazquez and LHP Boone Logan

Bottom line: 15 wins for 13 homers?
