The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Chipper Jones missed Sunday's game after straining his left groin running the bases in the ninth inning Saturday. He felt it pull when he stopped after rounding third on Brian McCann's two-run double.

The Braves are off Monday, and Jones said "we'll see about [playing] Tuesday" against the Mets.

He had a pair of singles Saturday, but is 11-for-82 (.134) with 21 strikeouts and two extra-base hits in his past 25 games.

Catcher Brian McCann had a scheduled day off Sunday.
