"We knew about their top scorers," said Carrollton coach Shon Thomaston, whose club lost in the state quarterfinals in 2007. "We felt we had more quality on the floor, and this was just an all-around defensive effort."

Leading 32-25 at the half, the Lady Trojans put the game away in the third period, holding Glenn Hills to seven points and pushing to a 47-32 lead.

Karisma Boykin scored 20 for Carrollton, trying for its first state championship in girls basketball, while Brittany Wiley had 13 and Janyce Ealey 12.

Jessica Morton scored 12 point for Glenn Hills (22-9).
