Georgia Tech athletics director Dan Radakovich today signed a five-year contract extension.
The new deal, which goes into effect July 1, will pay Radakovich $300,000 annually, and includes bonuses that could raise his salary to as much as $560,000 this year. He could make as much as $640,000 in 2012 when the contract ends.

Radakovich has been the AD at Tech since late winter of 2006, shortly after Dave Braine retired partly for health reasons. He and former Tech football coach and player Bill Curry were finalists for the job.
He fired football coach Chan Gailey and hired Paul Johnson. Since moving to Tech from an associate AD position at LSU, Radakovich has spent considerable focus on improving the financial state of the Georgia Tech Athletic Association.
On his watch, the Yellow Jackets are moving forward to build a new softball field and continue to raise money toward the eventual construction of a new basketball practice facility adjacent to Alexander Memorial Coliseum.
