First, tell Yapta what flight routes you are interested in taking and you’ll be notified by email anytime the price drops on the route.

This is ideal in two cases. First, Yapta becomes your assistant in searching down new sale prices. And secondly, it might help you get some money back if prices drop on a ticket you’ve already bought!

Let’s say the price of your purchased ticket drops $125 before your trip. If you have selected this particular route and dates for Yapta to do its thing, you’ll be notified by email to contact the airline for your refund. The refund is in the form of a voucher which can be applied to future travel within one year.

The catch? This won’t work if you’ve bought your tickets through Travelocity, Expedia, etc. It works for direct airline purchases - online or by phone - but you must phone the airline to request the refund. Also, seats in the sale ‘class of service’ must be available on your exact itinerary (as if ticketing anew).

The other stellar feature of Yapta is its new ability to tell you when frequent flier seat space opens up on a flight you want. How wonderful is that?

You tell Yapta what flights you want to track and it will provide its e-mail alert service when award seats become available on five airlines and how many miles you’ll need to redeem.

Get to know Yapta.com. This is one Web site that will save you not only money, but time (and a bit of sanity, too!)
