Athens — With a 92-yard, one-touchdown-per-game average, one would think Prince Miller is a lock to return punts against Tennessee on Saturday.

Not necessarily.

“We’re basically doing the same thing we’ve been doing all season, just rotating and playing different guys back there so we’ll all be prepared to go in,” Miller said. “Everybody else is prepared to go at any moment, too.”

Such is the Jon Fabris way. The Bulldogs’ fiery defensive ends coach also oversees punt returns and he’s had five different players handle it so far, including Knowshon Moreno, Asher Allen, Logan Gray and Reshad Jones. The by-committee approach has worked. The Bulldogs lead the SEC and are third nationally with a 21.7-yard average.

Miller returned his only attempt 92 yards for a touchdown in the second half against Alabama. He’s not sure whether it was just his first of many returns or the last of his career.

“Before the game [Fabris] watches and decides who he feels most comfortable with,” Miller said. “In his mind I think he has guys he wants in certain situations. I don’t know. I just want to help the team any way I can.”
