Former Brave Smoltz ties the knot

Saturday was a big day for former Braves pitcher John Smoltz, who was married to Kathryn Darden

Smoltz has four kids by his previous marriage and she has two. The wedding was Saturday at 7 p.m. at Smoltz’s house in Alpharetta in front of about 70 friends and family.

The couple is in Fort Myers, Fla., where Smoltz is rehabbing from shoulder surgery for the Boston Red Sox.

Smoltz’s former teammate and good friend Jeff Francoeur said Smoltz would have another celebration after the season that players could attend.
