Anaheim, Calif. — Braves closer Rafael Soriano was moved to the 15-day disabled list to make room for pitcher Charlie Morton, who made his major-league debut in a start Saturday night against the Angels.
Soriano has had lingering elbow inflammation and soreness, and the DL stint — his second of the season — is retroactive to June 6, the day after his previous appearance. He visited Friday with Dr. Lewis Yocum, who did his 2004 "Tommy John" elbow surgery.

Soriano said Yocum would wait until he examines Soriano's recent MRI before offering an opinion.
It's been a frustrating season for the Braves and Soriano, who was examined by team doctors in January before the Braves gave him a two-year, $9.1 million contract.
"I did everything to be ready," he said. "In spring training I don't know what happened. I tried to throw, and my arm would be sore. It's driving me crazy sometimes because I don't know why this is happening. I've done everything they've asked in the training room."
