Zell Miller video from that Saxby Chambliss rally on Thursday

Perhaps recognizing that he was the best part of a large Thursday rally for Saxby Chambliss, even better than former presidential contender John McCain, the National Republican Senatorial Committee has cut loose a web-only ad of former U.S. senator and governor Zell Miller’s remarks at the event.

It’s not TV quality video, but you might expect something like it before this U.S. Senate runoff is over. Couple bits of background: Miller declares that Chambliss may be the “last man standing” who would allow the Republicans to block Democratic initiatives with a filibuster. As a senator, when Republicans controlled the chamber, Miller declared reliance on a 60-member cloture vote in the Senate, needed to shut off debate, to be undemocratic.

Miller also accused Democrat Jim Martin of being the first state lawmaker to speak against a $100 million tax cut that Miller proposed as governor. But he made no mention of the fact that, as lieutenant governor, Miller joined Martin in support of a statewide sales tax increase in 1989. The Chambliss campaign has been hammering Martin on that one.

Zell’s history evidences he will say or do anything from moment to moment. He simply has no core set of beliefs.

Zell is THE best political pimp of modern times. Except for George Bush, which has been a disaster, everyone Zell has endorsed lost. The few comments about this post speaks volumns.

In 2002, while campaigning for Sen. Max Cleland, this same ol’ codger said that Saxby Chambliss “should be ashamed.”

Today, Miller is Saxby’s biggest boot-licker. Zig-Zag Zell is at it again.

Go to hell, Zell. You call yourself a “Truman Democrat”. How I wish Harry Truman were alive today so he could tear you apart and expose you for what a hateful, opportunistic loser you are.

To all you Zell and Bush haters: HYPOCRITES! That’s what you are! What about the Democrats like Obama, Christopher Dodd, Barney Frank, and others who took kickbacks from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae (known as the HEART OF WALL STREET CORRUPTION)? How come you people NEVER talk about them? It was BUSH and McCain who wanted to stop this mortgage crisis from coming to pass with congressional oversight years ago when they saw it coming! But your beloved Democrats refused to cooperate! So as far as I’m concerned, Take your Bush bashing, and Zell Bashing and SHOVE IT !

During the last 8 years Republican Congressmen tried to fix the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae mess but they were blocked by Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. The Wall Street’s Paulson along with Frank And Dodd wrote the $700,000,000,000.00 bail out Wall Street bill then added $153,000,000,000.00 of PORK for good measure. Our 7 Republican Congressmen voted against this RIP OFF of the taxpayer. Yet Saxby Chambliss (Socialist/RINO,Ga) voted for this waste. Why he has received over $10,621,716.00 from special interest much of it from BANKS & INSURANCE COMPANIES. With Saxby MONEY talks & the Taxpayer walks.

Saxby will win big on Dec. 2, because Americans dont cotton to senatorial gin rummys like Martin.

AMericans want the look, and Saxby’s got The Look, the look we like better, the Neo-Look that Newt is 4… The suit, the tie, the white haired aura, it makes us vote like it’s 2004.

Oh, I vote like it’s 1860, I like a beard and tall hat too, but I know better to think antebellum, cause that day has come and gone, oh baby dont you see that baby boomers look great in suits and ties so cool, yes baby baby we must filibuster, or babies will get busted too. We need more God and Rovian tactics, or liberals will take Heaven away too, Ohhhh baby. Ohhhh baby baby. Vote for Chambliss or the world will stink PU…. (author’s note: This Political fight song is sung to the tune of the Jordache Look commercial of the 70’s) All rights to this song have been forfeited because it’s really, really stupid.

Buckley has offered to endorse whichever candidate signs a pledge to slash federal spending and take up Libertarian positions on other issues, but both Martin and Chambliss have said they won’t sign it.

Unless Chambliss signs the pledge, Libertarians will probably turn out for Martin or stay home, Libertarian Party of Georgia Chairman Daniel Adams said.

“(Chambliss) continues to talk the talk of a conservative, but he’s never seen a spending bill he didn’t vote for,” Adams said. “That’s why we’re torn. At least with Martin you don’t get the hypocrisy.”

Libertarian dont vote in runoffs. Neither do democrats. Only Republican vote in runoff elections. I’ve mined some data that I present here:

Since 1822, which was only 17 years after the Whiskey Rebellion in 1793, and only 12 years before Fort Sumter, and exactly 88 years after we started celebrating Sadie Hawkins day, (when it was over for American men), there have been no democratic victories in runoff elections.

SO Saxby will win. And look at Martin: he’s an unelectable milquetoast. He squeaks like a mouse when he talks. He wears a bow tie and suspenders. He still wears Weejuns, the geek.

Saxby cant lose.

Hey, it is great to have Zell Miller back again. He’s a man you can believe. He is also a man of principle and when the vote is against his principles, he will not go for it. That is why he has trouble with Democrats. They do not like it when he does what he thinks is right and ethical.

Good to have you back, Zell. Show up more often.

The only politician I like less than Saxby Chambliss is Zig Zag Zell. Zell is stridently in favor of which ever way the wind blows at the moment: he was a first-rate segregationist when that was popular, a liberal when that was needed, and a Bush fluffer when that was all the rage in Georgia.

I have been a Democrat for about half my life and can proudly say that I voted for anyone running against Zell Miller.

Zell is one of the last of the enraged Democrats and should go ahead and switch to a Republican just like Strom Thurmond, Michelle Bachmann, Ronald Reagan, Elizabeth Dole, Richard Shelby, and my personal favorite Jesse Helms.

Well I believe that ZELL and LIBERMAN are EMBARASSED to call themselves Republicans! These two are no longer Democrats in my opinion. Maybe its because that modern day Republicans sympathize and respect Communist Chinese workers than Middle-Class American Workers! Saxby Chambliss would be terrible choice to represent Georgia, he’d prefer to Stand Up for Corporate Executives who support Illegal Mexican Workers and Communist Chineese Workers than the Middle Class American Workers, Protectionism and Bi-Lateral Trade is AMERICAN! Not Saxby Chambliss!

What happened to Zell? I never loved him, but he used to stand up for the people.

If you truly believe your positions are better based on their substance, then prove it. Argue them; show examples of how they have been successful. Don’t blow smoke and play games. Argue your point. If we’re going to have debate, let’s have substantive debate.

Zell Miller is a fool. If it wasn’t for the Democratic Party, Zell Miller would not have had a political career. He is an ungrateful simpleton. It’s sad to see. I totally agree with former President Carter’s letter to Miller. Zell, I hope your boy Chambliss loses and you and all your right wing pals at Fox are a bunch of cry babies.

Peter says he agrees with Carter. If anyone was wondering Peter F. is a graduate of the government school system, no doubt. Carter is statewide and national disgrace. Zell is a good man, whose party, he served loyally, left him. The libs loved Zell until he pointed out the huge left turn the Democrat party took a few years back.

thanks Dave, you are someone who see’s past the bull poop, you people that bash Bush or Zell for standing up for us the we the people part, you know Barry boy and his boyfreind in Freddie Mac and Chris Dodd that used these mortgage giants as there private piggy banks and yes your hero Obama got a big slice of that pie as well, so before you start shooting off your butt bumpers think about you voting to give the same people that robbed us the first time more of our hard earned money or are you some of those that think your going to get money from this new liar, try getting a job instead of looking for a handout. as far as Zell Miller he is thinking on behalf of America and our state of Georgia, no one power should have all the power, our system doesn’t work like that, learn something from history if you can read the only two times one party or the other had control is the great depression and the new deal, gee that was fun wasn’t it, i like my guns and my money and i am not going to give them up because of some tree hugger don’t like them because they scare him, i am not going to be easy pickens for the criminals that will not disarm, think before you vote they are waiting for such a deal, thanks Dave for getting me involved in commenting i am with you man, lets keep Chambliss in office and keep our rights and our tax money. be blessed ya’ll

In response to Ms. St. James comment about Former-President Carter: Jimmy Carter served our country honorable in The United States Navy between 1942 to 1953. And as President he served our great nation with honor, dignity and humility. Unlike what we’ve seen over the past 8 years of recklessness and arrogance. Former-President Carter also used his tenure in the White House as a stepping stone to be of service to other human beings at home and abroad. He is a man of faith and love of country.

Wow. I am surprised at the number of comments that slam a guy for thinking for himself and never toting any party line. Senator Miller built a career both here in Georgia and in Washington for saying and doing what he thought was right for his constituents. Republican or Democrat, his career is hard to argue with.

By the way, if any of you or your kids benefited from the Hope Scholarship, you should thank Zell. As Governor, he pushed the Georgia Lottery through while facing very tough resistance from the right.
