Ohmigoodness … the goddess descends

Let the swooning begin.

From my colleague Jim Galloway at Political Insider:

Republican incumbent Saxby Chambliss just announced that Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska and the former GOP vice presidential nominee, will campaign for him in Georgia on Monday, capping off his U.S. Senate runoff effort.

“I was thrilled when I got the call that Governor Palin would be able to make the trip to Georgia to campaign with me the day before the runoff election,” Chambliss said in a press release.

Four rallies have been scheduled for Dec. 1: 8:30 a.m. in Augusta, 11 a.m. in Savannah, 1:30 p.m. in Perry, and 4 p.m. in north metro Atlanta.

I’m sure Palin’s arrival is going to help Chambliss get the GOP base fired up to turn out to vote Tuesday, and it’ll be interesting to see how many folks show up at the rallies. (If you plan to attend, you have to register by name at http://www.procatalog.com/saxby/). You could also see this as Palin’s unofficial kickoff of the 2012 campaign.

But back to the present: The polls continue to show Chambliss leading Jim Martin, but within a margin that could conceivably be swung by turnout. However, early voting turnout among black Georgians is well off the pace in the general election, which makes Martin’s climb even steeper.

Remember the surge in Obama contributions after Palin spoke at the RNC?

I see that Obama is looking closely at some of those farm bill components and asking those questions that people such as Chambliss should have been asking on behalf of the taxpayers while he was busy putting that crap together. If Chambliss manages to get enough votes to get himself back on the golf courses for six more years, then I do hope that Obama’s administration finds time in their busy schedules to thoroughly rake his sorry buttocks over the coals — repeatedly. A good place to start would be with an explanation for his treatment of the guy that blew the whistle on Imperial sugar. Of course, that’s just for starters.

Another blog post on Joan of the Arctic, Jay? The wingnuts will again accuse you of being obsessed with her. They hate your posts on Palin because they hate being reminded that McCain/Palin was even less appealing than McCain/Nobody.

I don’t think Jim Martin will win the runoff against Chambliss. But, Chambliss/Palin? That’s worth a few points to Martin.

Jay’s liberal daydreams aside..

No, Sarah’s not a goddess. She’s not Harvard groomed, progressively backed or a Washington insider. Sarah’s just one of us, middle America. Someone that uses H&R Block to do their taxes instead of high dollar financial accountants. Someone financially conservative in speech and practice because they are still in touch with the reality of monthly bills. Simple, elegant and beautiful. Obama has now proven that experience is no longer a presidencial litmus test.

So welcome to Gerogia Sarah! I hope you can enjoy our historical warm southern hospitality along with all that krazy kattie krap the progressively divisive will be showing you.

Could you get a message to Sarah for us back in Alaska? We haven’t seen much of her in Alaska, except to preside over a few turkey lynchings. Message: We miss you’re pretty face here in Alaska (cue up Kenny Rogers) There’s five hungry children and some oil to be dug, It’s a fine to leave us, Sarah. By the way, you know how Alaskans hate outsiders telling us how to vote and we usually do the exact opposite? Well I’m sure Georgians aren’t that much different about outside interference. How is your appearance there going to help the people that voted for you?

Jay and the liberal network anchors have treated Caribou Barbie horribly. Asking questions about what her sentences mean and why she put her words in that order and things of that nature. If the media had been 1/10th as tough on PEOTUS as they were on Gov Palin, Hillary would be putting her administration together and, were Hillary smart, the Horndog-in-chief would be appointed to runn the CIA so that he could keep his actions covert.

For those of you who are interested in finding out more about Sarah’s antics go to ADN.com That’s The Anchorage Daily News. You will notice a striking difference in the comments posted in the two papers. To Alaska’s discredit, there is a lot more bad spelling, poor grammar and the crazy syntax and free association that is characteristic of Sarah’s speaking style. If you try posting on the site, beware of the tendency for Alaskans to tell you to mind your own business, until you’ve lived there at least 25 years.

Andy,

Different people have different reasons for voting for or against bills and I understand that sometimes one has to accept everything in a bill in order to get one or more things. That’s the way things have worked. Obama is now looking at those expenditures through a different lens and we shall see for ourselves what he sees soon enough. As for Chambliss, I don’t like what I see and I will vote accordingly.

To: Realitycheck—You mentioned that Sarah has H&R Block fill out her taxes instead of a high priced accountant. You might think twice about that anti-elitist advice.  It seems there’s a little question on her tax returns why she didn’t declare her per diem as income, since she lived in her own home over 300 days while collecting the perk she’s supposed to get for living 400 miles away in Juneau where she was hired to be. As for the “she’s one of us” statement, she doesn’t have the knowledge to pass a Georgia literacy test. After all, she doesn’t know where her own state capitol is. Hint, it’s not Augusta, Savannah, Decatur or Wasilla.

Reality check to Reality King……….. So true; Sarah is just one of us. One of us ordinary US citizens who dream - some of us - of being something else. She lucked out - purely by circumstance. She became governor of Alaska because we were so fed up with her predecessor that we would have voted in the dog catcher, had he been running - anything, but status quo politician. Some of us picked Sarah, the greener than green rookie, to distance us from political corruption. Lesson learned: Regardless of circumstances, NEVER allow thought processes to become so beaten down that you do foolish things to later regret.

So, you go ahead and welcome our Sarah to your Gerogia. She wouldn’t know the difference, anyway. Gerogia…..Georgia. And, by the way, how appropriate. She’s going down there to diss a veteran. On 11/11/08, she totally ignored Alaska veterans - probably didn’t even realize it was Veteran’s Day, in all the flurry of TV interviews happening that day. “…just one of us…” - I don’t think so. Not like me, anyway.

In a runoff, Obama’s coat tails are gone. Saxby, unfortunately, will win. People who went out to vote for Obama, also voted for Martin. They were motivated to go out by Obama, not Martin and will not turn out in a runoff for him. The GOP wins the motivation battle in this one and Saxby skates back in easily.

The wipeout in the 2006 election left Republicans in such a state of dejection that they’ve overlooked the one shining victory in which a Republican star was born. The triumph came in Alaska where Sarah Palin, a politician of eye-popping integrity, was elected governor. She is now the most popular governor in America, with an approval rating in the 90s, and probably the most popular public official in any state.

Sarah’s extreme popularity was based on every man, woman and infant receiving an extra $1,200 on top of the $2,100 permanent fund dividend. Popular? That’s what about all we Alaskans discussed at happy hour on our Honolulu vacation that she paid for. There was a $2 billion budget surplus with $144 oil we were selling you people. Now there is talk that a real conservative would have saved the money for the present $44 per bbl market price, since our state budget is based on $65 oil. Let’s take another popularity survey to see what Alaskans think of her spending her time anyplace but Alaska.

WE HAVE MORE TO DO:

Democrat Jim Martin is in a runoff against Bush Republican Saxby Chambliss for the Senate seat from Georgia. Bush’s Saxby Chambliss voted against spending a few measly dollars to provide health care coverage for Georgia, and Americas needy children. But he supported wasting hundreds of billions of your dollars, and the life BLOOD of Americas finest on an unnecessary war in Iraq.

At a time when 47 million of you have no health insurance coverage, and over 100 million of you with insurance are just one major illness away from complete financial destruction. Bush and Saxby Chambliss voted to make the heart break of bankruptcy relief even harder for all of you to use.

You see, Bush and Saxby Chambliss, and his family don’t have to worry about their health care coverage. They have the finest health care coverage your tax money can buy for them. Courtesy of you. The American Tax payer. In fact, no one but the super rich can afford the health care coverage you the tax payer provide for Saxby Chambliss, and his family for FREE! with your tax dollars.

He supposedly works for you. But he doesn’t think you and your family should have access to the type of taxpayer supported FREE health care that you provide for him, and his loved ones for FREE!. Doesn’t that just make you BURRING MAD!

Vote for JIM MARTIN for US senator from Georgia. Vote for JIM Martin who will be on your side. Vote for JIM MARTIN who will work with President Obama and a majority congress for you. Vote for JIM MARTIN most of all for your-self, your family’s, friends, and loved ones. Vote for JIM MARTIN for a better America, and a better World.

Don’t let Saxby Chambliss make a chump out of you by tricking you into voting against your own best interest. Saxby chambliss is NOT! on your side. He’s not one of you. He is on George Bush’s side. And we all know what a catastrophe the Bush Chambliss administration has been the past 8 years.

Contact all your family and friends and do every thing you can to see to it that JIM MARTIN and GEORGIANS! take that senate seat back for Georgia, and America. No matter where you live in America. This is important to you. President Obama will need all the help, and power you can give him to try and fix this catastrophic mess that the Corrupt Bush Chambliss administration has created.

As I said before you will have to vote in overwhelming numbers to overcome the Bush Chambliss “Let Them Eat Cake” vote fraud machine. Vote early if you can. Then help everyone you can get to the polls and vote for JIM MARTIN. You and your loved ones don’t have to be Saxby Chambliss’s victims anymore.

I know you will get it done. Just like you did for President Obama.

God bless all of you

Gov. Palin has accomplished things in her life, rising from a small town mayor to the governor of her state, and she did it without a wealthy family ala Ted Kennedy, or riding her husband’s coattails (Hillary.) She’s a woman who not only talks the talk of her convictions, but walks the walk. Do any of you who enjoy belittling, and bashing her have any accomplishments of your own. If so, maybe the next hateful poster can explain what comparable accomplishments they have had. From the way most of these posts are written, I’d guess that the posters main accomplishment in life has been getting a driver’s license, and maybe some piddly job at McDonald’s. As for Jay Bookman, maybe he could explain what his accomplishments in life have been, besides getting to pass judgment on other people from the safety of a cubicle on the media plantation.

Maybe Palin can give sworn testimony while she’s in town. What did she ask the librarian, when she was asking about how to ban books? What was, the “WHAT IF”, question about banning books? Why did she make/allow her employees to use Yahoo, when the law requires use of a backed up SECURE system, like the one the state provides, one that the public can expect to provide FREEDOM OF INFORMATION data? Does she now understand that it is a violation of statute to make her employees help her to abuse her power? Does she now understand that the ruling of the Alaskan legislature is that she abused her power? Or is she just a Cheney clone who will never admit wrongdoing, and thus is incapable of learning from mistakes in policy, like Bush was!

When, oh when, will this diva go away? I would like for all of her fans to seriously consider this: If she were plump and not very photogenic, would they still be so fanatic about her? She spews antagonistic sarcasm while smiling and posing, she knows how to deliver a speech written by a professional speech writer and she knows how to zero in on a camera crew if there is one within 100 country miles. That sums up her knowledge and experience.

Sarah might of been a true Alaskan, but I do not see that now. A real Alaskan would be taking care of business here at home. We need a governor that governs, not on the prom queen circuit. Snap out of it Sarah! We have problems here at home you need to address. You are no better than Murkowski, who gave Alaskans the finger. History does repeat itself. I doubt if she will be dropping in to H&R Block this year, how can they begin to muddle through her taxes, when you can’t get a simple straight answer on anything she has spent or recieved.
