Ex-Atlanta players lift Syracuse

Former Atlanta Braves Pete Orr and Ryan Langerhans helped Syracuse defeat the visiting Gwinnett Braves 7-1 Monday night.

Orr hit a two-run homer in the third inning and Langerhans hit an RBI double and scored in a three-run fourth.

Braves starter James Parr (0-1) gave up five earned runs in four innings against the Nationals’ Class AAA farm team. He struck out six, walked two and allowed five hits.

Collin Balester (3-5) pitched seven scoreless innings for the Chiefs, giving up three hits with five strikeouts and two walks. Mike Vento added a solo homer for the Chiefs against reliever Juan Perez.
