Upon further review …
The Georgia High School Association may look into a rule change that would allow TV replays to be reviewed for last-second shots in state championship basketball games.
“That’s interesting,” GHSA spokesman Steve Figueroa said Sunday. “We’ve already got the technology to do it, since all of our championship games are already televised by GPTV. But it would have to be brought up in a board meeting and discussed before any [GHSA] actions could be taken.”
The National Federation of State High School Associations approved the rule change, which is not mandatory for state associations. It would let referees review if the ball left the shooter’s hand before the final buzzer or whether a shot was a 2- or 3-pointer.
The change was prompted by controversial finishes in 2008 championship games in South Carolina, Ohio and Michigan.

Stephen Strasburg, a San Diego State pitcher expected to be the No. 1 choice in next month’s MLB draft by the Nationals, made the final home start of his college career memorable.
The right-hander tossed his first college no-hitter against Air Force on Friday. Scouts have reported that Strasburg’s fastballs reach 103 mph on the radar gun, although the Nationals think he tops out at 101. “Or maybe 102,” Nationals scouting director Dana Brown said.
