Career fair focuses on military veterans, family
RecruitMilitary is staging a Career Fair Thursday at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., for military veterans and their families looking for work.
More than 20 companies are participating in the fair, according to a spokesperson for the Loveland, Ohio-based organization that hosts job fairs for veterans across the country. Participating companies are looking to fill a variety of hourly and salaried positions in sales, manufacturing, logistics, defense, management, security and others.

Brookhaven complex sold to Chicago firm
Chicago-based Wrightwood Capital said Tuesday it has acquired Village Place Brookhaven in Atlanta, a mixed-used development that includes residences, condos and offices built above retail and restaurant space.
The development, by Dan Woodley Communities, is on five acres and is located a few blocks from the Brookhaven MARTA station. The acquisition amount was not disclosed. GERTHA COFFEE
Kia supplier to hold job fair in Columbus
Kia auto supplier Johnson Controls will be in Columbus Saturday seeking 100 qualified workers for its plant being built in West Point.
The job fair will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Georgia Department of Labor’s Columbus Career Center.
The company said the jobs will pay $9.50 to $11 an hour, depending on duties and work experience. The plant will make seat systems and door panels for the vehicle that will be assembled at the main Kia plant in West Point.
When the Johnson Controls plant is in full operation, it will employ about 300. An estimated 7,500 Kia parts supplier jobs will be coming to the area.
