> BIBBY COMES BACK: Mike Bibby’s stint on the inactive list lasted one game. The veteran Hawks’ point guard was back in the starting lineup Tuesday against Washington at Philips Arena. He missed Saturday night’s home loss to the Los Angeles Clippers with a sprained left foot, his first missed game since he joined the Hawks in a five-player deal at last year’s trade deadline. The Hawks were blown out Saturday without Bibby, trailing by as many as 29 while losing 121-97. “It was tough without him,” Hawks coach Mike Woodson said. “I told him if he was ready to go, we needed him back out there.” With unfinished business to tend to before the all-star break, Bibby said he had to get back on the floor as quickly as possible. “We want to finish strong going into all-star weekend,” he said. “We’ve got a tough road ahead after the break, and we need to get everybody back healthy and ready to go before we go out on that [Western Conference] road trip.”

> BIRTHDAY BOY: Zaza Pachulia celebrated his 25th birthday in style Tuesday night. The Hawks’ backup center had eight points and nine rebounds at halftime. Pachulia said before the game that he was trying to keep his birthday “quiet.” Ten shots in 10 minutes, four on one possession in the second quarter, does not exactly qualify as keeping things quiet.

> BENCH BRIGADE: Pachulia led a Hawks bench charge before the halftime that outscored the Wizards’ reserves 18-8. Flip Murray added seven points, and Mo Evans drained a 3-pointer.

> MATCH POINT: With a victory in Detroit tonight the Hawks can match last season’s road win total for the entire season. The Hawks were 12-29 on the road last season and are 11-15 away from Philips this season.
