Freshman Sasha Goodlett finished with a areer-best 15 points and seven rebounds but the Georgia Tech women’s basketball team fell to Wake Forest 68-60 at Lawrence Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem on Tuesday night.

Goodlett finished with a career-best 15 points and seven rebounds in 33 minutes as Tech (16-6, 4-4 ACC) scored 36 points in the paint but the Demon Deacons (15-5, 3-4) outscored Tech 31-10 from the free-throw line on the evening.

“Obviously the foul situation hurt us tonight and we were not able to overcome their free-throw attempts,” head coach MaChelle Joseph said. “Sasha was huge for us inside. It was good to see some scoring from our post game.”

Despite a strong presence from the Yellow Jacket post players, a Courteney Morris three-pointer at the buzzer gave Wake Forest a 30-24 halftime advantage going into the locker room.

The Yellow Jackets will return to action Sunday, Feb. 8 when they host North Carolina State at 2 p.m.
