New Haven Walk in Roswell is a small community of brownstone-style townhomes in a wooded setting near the downtown Roswell Square and the Chattahoochee Nature Center.
Cassie Dixon of Touchstone Homes decorated the model home, the Winslow plan, with a Craftsman-inspired color palette of chartreuse, Pacific blue and persimmon and chose botanical-inspired artwork to bring to mind the parklike surroundings.
“This is a very intimate community and attracts young professionals and empty nesters who want to downsize. The details on the trim work and built-in storage are very appealing to both groups,” she said.
Dixon chose transitional style furnishings with a variety of textures and added unexpected contemporary touches like the floating floor lamp in the sitting area in the great room.
She painted the trim chocolate brown throughout the townhome to add elegance and emphasize the size of the rooms.
“Dark trim with lighter walls instead of vice versa is a new trend in decorating. It opens up the space and makes the room feel lighter,” Dixon said.
The 16 townhomes have three or four bedrooms and three floors of living space with elevators and a fourth floor finished for storage.
Homes have low-maintenance exteriors and “Smart Home” wiring.
Kitchen
There’s plenty of room to entertain in this large kitchen with stainless steel appliances including a commercial-look range top with a chimney style hood. The raised panel cabinets have granite countertops and natural slate backsplashes. The island is painted slate blue to match the color in the backsplash.
Master bath
The luxury bath has a jetted tub and an oversize walk-in shower with rain-head nozzles and a built-in bench seat. The double vanity has granite countertops with under-mount sinks. The built-in linen cabinet matches the vanity.
Master bedroom
The cream silk panels and floor-to-ceiling windows give this room the feel of a luxury hotel suite. The bed has a light smoke velvet headboard and butter cream matelasse spread accented with Pacific blue silk pillows.
Family room
Soft chartreuse walls contrast with the chocolate trim, which plays up the coffered ceiling. The stacked-stone hearth is flanked by built-in bookshelves painted chocolate to match the trim.
