Buyers at Ashford Creek, a community of one-, two- and three-bedroom condominiums, include young couples without children and empty nesters who want to be near the vibrant Perimeter Mall area.
With that in mind, Kristi Williamson of Model Residences Inc. decorated the Blackburn II plan model home with traditional style furnishings, some contemporary twists and a trendy color palette of chocolate brown with orange and turquoise accents to appeal to both groups of buyers.
Artwork throughout the home is contemporary and includes large pieces that combine mirrors and wood in the living room and the downstairs entertainment room. The artwork in the dining room has mirrored frames.
“The home has a lot of extra interior detailing like 5 1/4-inch crown molding in the living areas, tray ceilings in the master bedroom and dining room, and picture molding and wainscoting in the dining room. We chose darker paint for the walls and white trim to show off these architectural details,” Williamson said.
Williamson used paint colors to define the space in the open floor plan on the main floor. The large kitchen and keeping-room area are painted chocolate brown. The dining room is a vivid burnt orange and the living room is a soft golden green.
Located in Dunwoody, the community is gated and professionally landscaped. Amenities include a clubhouse with a meeting area, a catering kitchen, business center and fitness center, a swimming pool, a patio area with a grill and a dog walking trail.
Keeping room
The area opens to the kitchen and features a ventless gas fireplace. Dark chocolate walls contrast with orange draperies and stark white trim. Furnishings include a cream-colored loveseat with orange and turquoise accents pillows and a wrought iron bistro table for casual meals.
Living room
Huge window walls let in lots of light, framed by chocolate drapes. A traditional-style sofa is upholstered in a chocolate and gold floral pattern. Upholstery on the chaise features stripes in the same colors.
Kitchen
Stainless steel appliances, maple cabinets and granite countertops are highlights of the sleek, open kitchen. The island is painted chocolate brown to match the walls and is illuminated with pendant lighting. Window valances are an orange, yellow and cream floral print.
Master bedroom
The intricate iron bed in front of the window creates a focal point in the large room with soft golden green walls and a tray ceiling. The cream silken bedding matches the draperies and is topped with vibrant orange accent pillows that match the bed skirt. Other furnishings include a large dresser and a chair.
