I-75 biker dies after hitting guardrail

A motorcyclist was killed Friday afternoon when he crashed his bike on I-75 on the north side of Atlanta, authorities said.

A Georgia State Patrol officer spotted the biker traveling northbound on the expressway at “a high rate of speed” around noon Friday, State Patrol spokesman Paul Cosper said.

When a patrol car tried to pull the motorcyclist over, the biker swerved and hit a guardrail at West Paces Ferry Drive, Cosper said.

No one else was injured in the accident. Authorities had not identified the motorcyclist as of late Friday night.
