Georgia placed two sophomores and a freshman on The Associated Press All-SEC first team, which was released Monday.
Sophomore tailback Knowshon Moreno, sophomore tackle Clint Boling and freshman wide receiver A.J. Green each earned first-team honors.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford, wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi, linebacker Rennie Curran, punter Brian Mimbs and safety Reshad Jones were named to the second team.
Moreno was one of four unanimous selections on the offense. Florida quarterback Tim Tebow (who was also named offensive player of the year), Ole Miss tackle Michael Oher and Alabama tackle Andre Smith were the others. Florida linebacker Brandon Spikes and Alabama safety Rashad Johnson were the only unanimous picks on the first-team defense.
Tennessee safety Eric Berry, of Creekside High, was named defensive player of the year.
Alabama’s Nick Saban was coach of the year.
Georgia’s Green was the only freshman named to either first team. Alabama wide receiver Julio Jones, a second teamer, got the nod for freshman of the year. Green caught 55 passes for 951 yards and eight touchdowns. Jones had 46 for 723 and four touchdowns.
Moreno finished as the league’s top rusher (1,338 yards) and scorer (16 TDs).
