COLLEGE FOOTBALL REPORT

Associated Press

Thursday, November 20, 2008

> WASHINGTON: This year’s Apple Cup —- that’s the Huskies against Washington State —- is a rotten matchup. Washington is 0-10, Washington State 1-10 with its lone victory over a Division I-AA team. There’s plenty of national interest. “In the big picture, I don’t know if that’s fair. You have teams that have been in transition … and are going to build themselves back up and are going to be better,” Washington State coach Paul Wulff said. “If they want to make fun with it and they get a laugh out of it, then I guess they can do that.”

> MICHIGAN: Tackle Stephen Schilling is questionable for Saturday’s game against Ohio State because of a sprained knee.

> WAKE FOREST: It only seems as if the Demon Deacons are rushing their seniors out the door. Instead of holding Senior Day ceremonies before next week’s home finale, as most teams do, the Demon Deacons are honoring their seniors before this week’s game against Boston College. The reasoning: The students will be on Thanksgiving break for next week’s game against Vanderbilt.
