Martin has Obama’s voice on his side in runoff campaign

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Jim Martin’s campaign has not been able to entice President-elect Barack Obama to Georgia for the U.S. Senate runoff campaign, but Martin has Obama’s voice on his side.

Martin’s campaign Tuesday launched a radio ad that features Obama urging voters to back Martin, the former Democratic lawmaker facing incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss on Dec. 2. But the ad is a recycled general election spot, updated with an announcer’s voice urging voters to return to the polls.

Martin spokesman Matt Canter said the ad will run in select markets across the state.
