Flowery Branch —- The NFL is taking notice of the Falcons.

In order to feature the Falcons nationally as part of a doubleheader on Fox, the league moved the Falcons’ home game against Carolina on Nov. 23 to a 4:15 p.m. start.

The game originally was set for a 1 p.m. kickoff.

“Again, it’s confirmation that we are doing things right,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “I think when you are playing a division game, they can schedule that thing at 4:30 in the morning with no fans there and I think both teams would be ready to play.”

The time change is part of the NFL’s flexible scheduling. This season, the league will use flexible scheduling from Weeks 11-17 to ensure quality matchups in all NFL Sunday time slots.

The Falcons, 6-3 overall and 4-0 at home, host Denver (5-4) this Sunday before playing host to Carolina the following week.
