NAME: Calvin Pegus
AGE: 27
NEIGHBORHOOD/TOWN: Norcross
OCCUPATION: Fashion marketing major at American Intercontinental University
SIGNATURE STYLE: ’20s-influenced vintage
WHAT I’M WEARING: Vest and pants by Christian Dior, Ralph Lauren shirt, vintage tie, scarf from H&M, newsboy cap from Urban Outfitters, Tortoise frame glasses from Aldo, and saddle shoes by Duck Head.
FAVORITE LABELS: “I don’t have a specific brand that I prefer, but as far as jeans, Levis are always cool.”
ATLANTA STYLE IS … : “universal. It covers every corner of fashion. Depending on what part of town you are in, you get a different sense of style. Atlanta brings all kinds of styles together.”
BEST FIND: “A vintage Gucci duffle bag from the ’70s for $5 at the Salvation Army on Marietta Street, but I lost it. I also found a pair of tan ’70s flares by Christian Dior” there.
A FASHION PET PEEVE: Doesn’t have one “because I believe fashion is for each individual so it is not my place to call out someone else’s sense of fashion. “
STAND-OUT FASHION MOMENT: “Being featured in MyStyle! It confirms that I am comfortable with myself and represent my true fashion sensibility at any day and at any time.”
FAVORITE STORES: H&M, Rag—-O—-Rama, Zara
BIGGEST SPLURGE: “Gucci loafers that I purchased for about $660 at the beginning of my freshman year of college. I had a good job back then.”
A WEAKNESS: “Accessories. I love glasses. I have about seven or eight different pairs of nonprescription glasses that are just for style. Some are more recent designs and some have a ’60s influence to them, like Malcolm X glasses. I also like hats, preferably the newsboy caps or fedoras. If anything, I purchase those first.”
