Here are some Veterans Day activities taking place in metro Atlanta.

Marietta

Parade assembles by Roswell Street Baptist Church and ends at Marietta Square. A ceremony follows on the square, beginning at noon. 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today. Roswell Street Baptist Church, 774 Roswell St., Marietta. 770-794-5260, www.mariettaga.gov/departments/parks_rec/calendarview.aspx?id=2285.

Atlanta

Parade goes from West Peachtree Street near Pine Street, south on Peachtree to Marietta Street, then on to Centennial Olympic Park. 11:11 a.m. today. Centennial Olympic Park, 265 Centennial Olympic Park Drive N.W., Atlanta. 770-458-7934, www.gavetsdayparade.org.

Lawrenceville

Ceremony activities include honor guard presenting colors, a 21-gun salute and wreath laying. Also, two names will be added to the Fallen Heroes Memorial. Sponsored by Gwinnett County. 1 p.m. today. Acworth

McDonough

The Veterans Wall of Honor will be dedicated officially at 3 p.m. today at Heritage Park, 101 Lake Dow Road just off Ga. 81 East in McDonough. The wall honors veterans from each branch of the U.S. armed forces. Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle will deliver the keynote address.

Dawsonville

Parade lines up on Memory Lane between 2 and 2:30 p.m. today. Ceremony about 3:30 p.m. at Dawsonville County Middle School. www.dawson.org.

Smyrna

Local veterans informally gather at about 11 a.m. today at veterans park on King Street.

Woodstock

The city and American Legion Post 316 will hold a candlelight ceremony at 7 p.m. today in the downtown Woodstock City Park at Arnold Mill Road and Main Street.

Dahlonega

A Tribute to Georgia Veterans. Display covers Georgia’s involvement in wars from the American Revolution through the present day. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays.
