CARROLLTON — A former state legislator and mayor of Carrollton, Tracy P. Stallings, has died following a brief illness. He was 75.
He died Tuesday night at Tanner Hospital two and a half weeks after being diagnosed with cancer in his lungs, liver and spine.
His daughter, Pam Almon, said, “There were many people who didn’t even know he was sick.”
Almon said her father had written his obituary and made all the funeral plans before he died.
Stallings was elected Carrollton’s mayor in 1979 and served until 1993. A Democrat, he served as a state representative from 1994-2002.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Carrollton.
