Judith Nichols had big plans for the squirrel she had caught.
They didn't involve a grave and headstone, though.

Last weekend, Nichols planned a trip to Piedmont Park to release a squirrel she caught with a contraption called the "Humane Rodent Catcher."
Instead, someone snatched the squirrel, and the trap, off the front porch of her Virginia-Highland home.
The bizarre crime didn't end there, according to an Atlanta police report.
Nichols, 57, told police she found a handwritten note in her mailbox Saturday.
"Look behind the shed," the note said in large, red letters.
Behind the shed, Nichols and an Atlanta police officer discovered a small grave with a little headstone that read: "Here lies Sticky The Squirrel. We will miss you, friend, parent and provider."
The police report did not indicate whether they exhumed the grave to verify that it contained Sticky's body.
Nichols could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
