BASEBALL

BROOKWOOD

The Broncos beat host Shiloh 13-2 as Chase Hawkins got the win. He allowed one hit with four strikeouts in three innings of work. Ronnie Freeman went 3-for-3 with a three-run home run, Jordan Erisman hit 1-for-1, Ross Heffley went 1-for-2, Hawkins went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, Buddy Jones went 1-for-2 with an RBI, Grayson Flack went 1-for-3, and Jon Robinson went 1-for-2. Brookwood is 13-1, 1-0 in 8-AAAAA.

DULUTH

The Wildcats won 6-3 over visiting Forsyth Central for their third win of the year. Travid Brinker started the game and allowed one run over three innings. Jacob Mauldin pitched four innings of relief and had two strikeouts and allowed two earned runs for Duluth (3-10, 1-4 in 7-AAAAA). Jared Van Camp hit a two-run home run and Luke Jordan went 3-for-3 and also hit a two-run home run while Reid Merwin went 2-for-3 with a double.

GRAYSON

Grayson scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat South Gwinnett 7-6. Pitcher Stuart Shaw worked three innings of relief for the win. Dereck Lark drove in the winning run and went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Shaun Harrison hit a three-run home run for Grayson (6-8, 1-0 in 8-AAAAA).

GAC

Andrew Steckenrider pitched a complete game as the Spartans shut out visiting Creekview 6-0. Steckenrider (5-0) allowed two hits with eight strikeouts for GAC (9-3, 5-2 in 6-AA). Colton Chapple hit a grand slam while Stephen Pepper went 2-for-2 with two doubles. GAC scored all six of their runs in the bottom of the third inning.

PROVIDENCE

The Stars defeated Fellowship Christian 10-0 in five innings to improve to 12-3, 7-1 in 5-A. Winning pitcher Austin Barry allowed one hit and one walk with seven strikeouts over four innings. Offensively, Chris Wages went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, Addison Thomas went 2-for-3 with a run scored, Tommy Bonner hit 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Addison McDowell went 2-for-3 with a run scored.

GIRLS GOLF

BROOKWOOD

Brookwood beat Grayson 96-119 at Summit Chase as Erin Cundiff had a team-low 47 and Lisa Parkerson shot a 49 for the Broncos. Sophomore Tori Van Wyen had a 51 for Grayson. Brookwood is 7-1 and Grayson is 6-5 on the season.

MILL CREEK

The Hawks topped the Collins Hill Eagles 79-83 as Emily Burger shot a 38 and Jennifer Nam posted a 41. Lauren Court had a score of 40 while Jackie Rajek totaled 43 for Collins Hill.

BOYS GOLF

MILL CREEK

Mill Creek defeated Collins Hill 153-162 Thursday at Hamilton Mill. Jamison Renfroe and Ryan Monroe both shot a 37 to lead Mill Creek. Sean Bolen had a 36 for Collins Hill.

NORTH GWINNETT

North Gwinnett beat Parkview 168-191 Thursday at Stone Mountain. Low scores for the Bulldogs were a 39 by Michael Lee and a 42 by Matt Wytanis. Parkview's Ted Moon shot a 45 in the loss.

BOYS SOCCER

NORCROSS

The Blue Devils defeated Mill Creek 4-0 in a Region 7-AAAAA matchup. Goals were scored by Kingsley Morgan (2), Jason Lewter and Taylor Krorek. Assists were made by Ryan King. Goalie Enrique Miranda had the clean sheet for Norcross (9-6 overall, 4-2 in region).

WESLEYAN

The Wolves won 6-1 over host Buford Thursday. Two goals each were scored by Michael O'Hare, Michael Cornelius and Greg MacKenzie. Assists were made by Chris Duvall, Spencer Brown, Cornelius and MacKenzie for Wesleyan (8-5-1).
