Two Pope High School students waiting for their school bus were injured Monday morning by a young driver.
The accident occurred just before 8 a.m. when Corey O'Connell was driving northbound in his 1995 burgundy Jeep Cherokee, said Officer Cassie Reece, a Cobb police spokeswoman.

That's when a gold Nissan Maxima at Nestle Creek Drive was making a left turn onto Old Canton Road, Reece said.
O'Connell, 17, swerved right to avoid hitting the Maxima and drove onto the sidewalk. He is also a Pope student.
The SUV hit the two teenagers, Reece said.
A 15-year-old girl was flown to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite with serious injuries. Her name was not released.
The 17-year-old boy was identified as Joshua Belyea. He was taken by ambulance to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he was treated and released.
O'Connell was not injured. Police expect to charge him at a later date, Reece said.
