It bailed out of a livestock truck heading southbound on I-75 at the Canton Road bridge about 9:30 a.m., breaking its leg. Despite its injury, the pig was running hog wild enough to slow traffic and prompt 15 calls to 911.
Marietta police officers cornered the pig in the median, but had to Taser it to keep it from escaping.
"The pig began flailing about and attempted to bite the officers when they picked him up," said Marietta police spokesman Mark Bishop.
The pig was taken to the veterinarian, but had to be put down because of its injuries, said Sgt. Dana Pierce, a Cobb County police spokesman.
In the end, no one could save its bacon.
