While in college, Rob Stuart played in a band called One Plus Two that toured the South, playing original music in clubs. His band opened for groups that went on to relative fame, including the Hodoo Gurus.
More than two decades later, he is head of marketing for the Southeast at Transwestern, a commercial real estate firm. A couple of years ago, he was listening to NPR and heard about the RPM Challenge. The idea is to record 10 songs during the month of February. The challenge inspired him, and he managed to write and record all the songs, playing every instrument himself, in 29 days.
This year, he got help from other musicians, including people he met online and the guys he played with in college. He recorded 10 songs he loves. "This satisfies my muse," said the 44-year-old songwriter, who lives in Decatur with his wife and two sons. "I am always thinking about music. This gives me an outlet."
