Jeremy Sipos of Marietta was the overall men's winner at the Tri the Parks Triathlon Series race at Indian Springs State Park in Flovilla. He finished the 600-meter swim, 12.8-mile bike and 3.1-mile run in 1:00:58. Scott Gordon of Smyrna won the men's masters title in 1:06:45.
In the Clydesdale division, Luis Fabian of Marietta was second in 1:13:55 and John Pruitt of Marietta was third in 1:18:23. James Stanley of Acworth won the masters Clydesdale title in 1:13:48. Jim Devaney of Marietta was second in 1:19:32. Alison Frutoz of Douglasville was third in the Athena division in 1:52:49.
In the duathlon (3.1-mile run, 12.8-mile bike, 3.1 mile run), Taylor Gonsoulin of Canton was the overall men's winner in 1:16:13. Ernie Janelle of Smyrna was second in 1:19:16. Ashley Chan of Marietta was second overall in the women's race in 1:32:14. Brad Diodati of Marietta won the men's masters title in 1:24:52.
Golf
Cameron Simmons of Acworth finished tied for fifth at the Georgia State Golf Association's Georgia Junior Championship at Augusta Country Club.
Sydney Conrad of Powder Springs was fourth in the Championship C flight at the Georgia Girls Championship at Dunwoody Country Club.
Jennifer King of Smyrna tied for second in the first flight at the Georgia Top 60 Women's Classic at Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega. Marilyn Nolan-Johnson of Marietta won the third flight title.
Motorsports
Kason Plott of Marietta finished second in the Bandits division in week four of racing in Atlanta Motor Speedway's Thursday Thunder series. Will Martin of Douglasville was third in the Young Guns division.
Soccer
Three Georgia teams advanced to the final game at the U.S. Youth Soccer Region III Championships in Raleigh. In the under-19 girls division, Tophat 07 Gold lost in the final to the Challenge 89 from South Texas. In under-18 boys, North Atlanta Elite lost 2-0 to Adromeda 90 from North Texas. In under-14 boys, Concorde Fire Elite lost 2-0 to SCSA Gold 2 from North Carolina.
