Jeff Ham of Mableton finished third in the men's 25-29 age group and 13th overall in the men's race at the Flora-Bama Mullet Man Triathlon in Perdido Key, Fla. He finished the quarter-mile swim, 17-mile bike and 4-mile run in 1:23:32.
Mike Hendrixson of Marietta was sixth in the men's 45-49 in 1:32:24. Phil Upchurch of Marietta was eighth in men's 50-54 in 1:46:15. In the first-timers division, Deldon Barfuss of Marietta was 13th in 1:40:20 and Jim Hatfield of Mableton was 16th in 1:40:55. Sarah Mills of Marietta was 17th in women's 25-29 in 2:04:04. Dave Konneker of Smyrna finished in 2:10:19.
Golf
Spencer Sappington of Milton won the Georgia Super Senior Championship by nine strokes over Frank Costanzo of Savannah at Cherokee Town and Country Club in Atlanta. Joe Estes of Atlanta placed fifth overall and won the Championship B flight. Cliff Cleveland, also of Atlanta, finished sixth.
Other flight winners included: Dick Martin of Alpharetta, Donald Hamelink of Dunwoody, Amos Jones of Atlanta, Neal Alexander of Acworth, Roy Thompson of Stone Mountain and Bill Cowles of Lilburn.
Mariah Stackhouse of Riverdale won the Georgia Women's Match Play Championship for the second straight year. Stackhouse, 14, beat Erin Packer of Tyrone, 3 and 2, to win the event at Sunset Hills Country Club in Carrollton. Stackhouse battled back from a three-hole deficit to win the title.
In the first flight final, Belinda Marsh of Alpharetta beat Marilyn Nolan-Johnson of Marietta, 2 and 1. In the second flight, Dorothy Beckler of Mableton beat Barbara Brown of Carrollton in 21 holes. In the third flight, Joyce Doss of Carrollton beat Sherry Huchet of Peachtree City, 3 and 2. Sharon Thompson of Carrollton beat Bonnie Revoner of Atlanta, 3 and 2, to win the fourth flight.
Running
Patrina Hayes of Marietta was the overall women's winner at the Cheerios Challenge 10K road race in Covington. She finished in 37:52.
