LITTLE PONIES, BIG TEA PARTY
For the little ones, don't miss "My Little Pony Live!" at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre this weekend. It's the "World's Biggest Tea Party" with all the pony characters —- Pinkie Pie, Minty, Sweetberry, Rarity the Unicorn, Sew-and-So, Rainbow Dash, Thistle Whistle and Wysteria. There's singing, dancing and audience participation. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday; 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday; and 1 and 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $14-$34. HORSE FUN
Don't miss the Atlanta Steeplechase 2008 on Saturday. This Atlanta tradition that dates back to 1966 includes tailgating and picnic parties, Jack Russell terrier races, a children's festival, U.S. Disc Dog Southern Nationals competition, an air show, hat contests and —- of course —- horse racing. Six races in all, on a course with hurdles. Gates open at 9 a.m. and morning activities are followed by the races starting at 1:30 p.m. Tickets range from $30-$600. On 435 beautiful acres of Kingston Downs, on the Etowah River at the Floyd-Bartow county line, U.S. 411/Gore Spring Road S.E., Kingston. If it's the old days you're pining for, check out the Kinna Classic Chamber concert Saturday in Douglasville.
