WHERE CAN I FIND IT?

Q: Many, many years ago, my twins used to watch a television show when they got home from school. It was called “The Cisco Kid.” We’re throwing them a special 50th birthday party and are looking for some of their favorite things from their childhood. I would love to find a “Cisco Kid” DVD for the party. It would be so much fun for them if you could find it.

A: The Cisco Kid —- introduced by O. Henry in the story “The Caballero’s Way” —- and his sidekick, Pancho, premiered on television in 1950 and rode through the West for about six years. Duncan Renaldo played Cisco, while Leo Carrillo was cast in the role of the comedic Pancho. By the way, Carrillo was a preservationist and conservationist who served on the California Beach and Parks commission and was instrumental in the state’s acquisition of Hearst Castle in San Simeon. And north of Santa Monica, there’s a state park and beach named for the actor. You’ll find several episodes of “The Cisco Kid” available on DVD through www.oldies.com. Prices start at $7.98.

Q: I’m not sure if French’s still makes the pot roast seasoning and cooking bag but, if so, I’m sure you can find it for me. I remember using it many years ago, but I haven’t even thought about it for a long time. I’ve been looking and it’s nowhere to be found. It sure made a tasty pot roast.

Q: I’ve seen how you have helped many track down products, and I am hoping that you can help me. I have been unable to locate Nivea Renewal Night Lotion or creme. I have tried Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Kroger, Rite Aid and CVS, but no luck. I have also e-mailed Nivea, but it has been at least one month and I have not received any response. Please, can you help?

A: Unfortunately, Nivea has discontinued the Renewal Night product; but if you want it at any cost, you might consider buying it from an online source. The one I found, however, has it priced outrageously high. Check out http://robert-l-ayers.amazonwebstore.com and you’ll find Nivea Body Renewal Night Lotion for a whopping $21.99 per 8.4-ounce bottle. You might also keep an eye on eBay, where I’ve seen it priced lower.

Q: I have been looking for a cloth that washes off makeup with just water. My skin is very sensitive to a lot of cleansers and this sounds like it would be perfect for me. I would appreciate it if you could please locate this for me as soon as possible.

A: No problem, Elaine; you can start wiping off your makeup with the Wonder Cloth very soon.
