Acworth Farmers Market

Alpharetta Farmers Market
This gathering has been going strong since the end of April and continues through the end of October. Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., check out the wares of more than 30 vendors selling heirloom tomatoes, freshly cut flowers, herbs, hanging baskets, vegetables and homemade jellies, jams and soaps. Cherokee Fresh Market
The grounds of Cagle's Dairy are home to this market every Saturday through early September. From 8 a.m. to noon, shop for produce and vegetables, baked goods, homemade soap, flowers, honey, cheeses, herbs and more from about a dozen vendors. Cumming Farmers Market
Stop by this market on the way to work on Wednesdays. Through mid-September, the market moves into the Cumming Fairgrounds, 235 Castleberry Road. Herbs, vegetables, flowers, plants and other goodies are sold from 7 a.m. until everything is gone. 770-887-2418; www.ugaextension/com/forsyth.
Lawrenceville Farmers Market
This is the fifth year area vendors will gather on the square with fruits, herbs, plants, soaps, jams and honey. The market is open every Saturday through Sept. 27, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. 678-226-2639; www.visitlawrenceville.com.
Life University Village Farmers Market
Everyone is welcome to this event on the campus of Life University, 1269 Barclay Circle in Marietta. The market opened with a half-dozen vendors and will grow as the summer continues. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Thursday through Sept. 25. 770-426-2605.
Marietta Square Farmers Market
Officially held every Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon, this market gets busy as early as 8 a.m., said organizer Johnny Fulmer. He owns the Church Street Market and started the local farmers fair five years ago. North Fulton Tailgate Farmers Market
This local market meets at 11913 Wills Road in Alpharetta. The market will be open Saturdays through September. Fresh flowers, plants, produce, herbs and fruits will be available from 7 a.m. until it's all gone. 404-613-7670.
Powder Springs Farmers Market
To make this market convenient for those on the way home, or for those who want to check out other markets on Saturdays, organizers in this west Cobb town opted to hold their sale every Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. The parking lot next door to City Hall, 4488 Pineview Drive, draws about 20 vendors with produce, baked goods, honey, shea butter creams and more. 770-943-1666; www.cityofpowdersprings.org.
Riverside Farmers Market

Spruill Gallery Market
The parking lot of the gallery, 4681 Ashford Dunwoody Road, draws vendors from 8:30 a.m. until noon each Wednesday. Through October, they'll offer a variety of fresh produce as well as milk, eggs and soaps. 770-394-4019.
