Former Duluth Mayor Shirley Lasseter was the only candidate to qualify for a county race in Gwinnett County on Wednesday.
Lasseter's qualification fulfills a previous announcement to seek the Republican nomination for the County Commission seat being vacated by District 1 Commissioner Lorraine Green.
Green is running for chairman of the Gwinnett board in the July 15 primary against incumbent Charles Bannister.
