GGC to break ground on first dorm

Georgia Gwinnett College officials are scheduled to break ground Tuesday morning on the school’s first dormitory.

The first phase will open in fall 2010 with space for 1,030 students. When the project is complete, about 2,000 students will have housing on campus, officials said.

The Lawrenceville college opened in August 2006 and now enrolls about 1,600 students. College leaders have projected to enroll about 10,000 students within the next five years.
