Temperatures were in the upper 20s and low 30s across metro Atlanta early Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 but a brisk breeze dropped the wind chill into the teens. Forecasters are predicting lows Tuesday night will again drop into the 20s after climbing only into the mid-40s during the afternoon. Readings at 6 a.m. Tuesday included 27 in Dallas, 28 in Dunwoody, 29 in Chamblee and Alpharetta and 30 degrees at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said the wind chill at 6 a.m. was 18 degrees. Highs Tuesday afternoon will be around 45 degrees, followed by overnight lows in the mid-20s. Wednesday will be a little warmer, with highs in the mid-50s. Minton said the next chance of rain will come on Friday, and the weekend will be sunny and cool, with highs in the mid-40s.
