HOME INVASION--August, 9, 2013 Gwinnett County: Gwinnett County police officer, S. Phillips (left) and Crime Scene Specialist, B. Barrington (right) clear the crime scene Friday morning. Two women were in taken in custody as police searched for three male suspects early Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 after a Gwinnett County man was shot during a home invasion robbery. The incident happened about 2:30 a.m. Friday at a home on Worchester Place near Lilburn, where the three male victims were roommates, Gwinnett police Cpl. Jake Smith said. “What we think happened is one of these guys met these ladies out somewhere socially at a bar or restaurant and invited them back to the house,” Smith said. “When they showed up, they brought a whole crew with them, and it turned into a robbery.” A BMW was stolen from one of the victims. “A very short time later, DeKalb County police stopped that BMW,” Smith said. “It was occupied by two women matching the description of the suspects.” The women were turned over to Gwinnett police. “We don’t have the three men in custody, but we do have the two women,” Smith said.
