Beware of bad exit polls.

The McCain campaign and those of us who remember the exit polls four years ago that predicted a John Kerry victory are united in saying don’t jump to conclusions early.

As with the pre-election polls, the exit polls are used by supporters of Barack Obama and by their commentators as evidence of his inevitability. But, as the McCain camp takes pains to point out, there are some reasons to be skeptical of exit polls.

Why? They’ve tended to overstate the Democratic vote in individual states and nationally, especially in high-turnout and high-interest elections like the one in 1992 and 2004, says McCain pollster Bill McInturff. Furthermore, he notes, Obama supporters are more likely to participate in exit polls.

Adding to doubt about their reliability is that they’re influenced by age, race and gender of those who ask the questions of exiting voters.

And, too, in Georgia 35 percent of the registered voters have already cast ballots. It’s not certain that those who voted early and those who voted today are voting in the same pattern.

One warning, though, to McCain supporters in Georgia. Early indications are that turnout is lighter than expected in some Republican stronghold precincts.

Well I for one, did not stay home. However, I did not cast my vote for McCain. I have been fed up with the Republican party over the past couple years and McCains vote for the bailout was the final straw for me. The resulting inevitable inflation that will come of this in the years down the road will be very detrimental to our country. Republicans have strayed from grassroots conservative ideals. My vote went to Libertarian Bob Barr.

Dear Jim,

I remember the 1980 election. I went with my brother to Sugar Hill city hall to vote, only to find that I had to drive down to Suwanee to vote… I ended up being the last one in line to vote and by the time I got back to my brother’s house it was over. The white haired anchor on ABC was basically pleading with the left coast to still vote so Reagan would have a mandate. Ah the good old days when the MSM was fair and balanced.

While your point is well taken that this inevitability nonsense should be ignored the real issue is down ballot where local control is gained and therefore it is incumbent on everyone to vote the whole ballot, even if your candidate might not win or need it in your area.

Polls Jim….Polls ???????

What about what Carl Rove said………

(CNN) – John McCain and his aides are still banking on a come-from-behind victory Tuesday, but the GOP’s most famous political strategist has already called the race for Barack Obama.

Karl Rove, the man widely credited with engineering President Bush’s two successful White House bids, is predicting the Illinois senator will take the White House in an Electoral College landslide, winning 338 votes to John McCain’s 200. That would be the largest Electoral College victory since 1996, when Bill Clinton defeated Bob Dole in a 379-159 rout.

Watch: Kenyans pulling for Obama

In an Electoral Map posted on Rove’s Web site, the Republican mastermind predicts Obama victories in several key battlegrounds, including virtually all of the states where polls suggest he currently enjoys a slim advantage. In fact, Rove believes Missouri is the only crucial battleground state McCain will carry, while Obama scores victories in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Mexico, Minnesota, and Iowa. Rove also thinks Obama will win traditionally-Republican Virginia.

Wow McCain is Toast !

THE Captain fears that with the ascension of the GodlessBabykillingMarxist Obamandingo the Time of Prophecy is nigh upon us. As such, He urges all Right Thinking True Believers to join Him in a pact to withdraw utterly and totally from cooperation with the Godless Democrats and their False Messiah, to promise to provide no succor nor comfort to these Satanic forces.

Ragweed’s Gulch is one alternative, but be honest…how many of these UberRoarks will be able to resist a quick trip to town for a Thickburger and a stop at the Cheetah? Right, not many. As for Sister Dusty, where will she be without her daily dozen Krispy Kreme fix? Right. And who really thinks they will give up cable TV?? Most of our brethren have become dependent upon Col. Rush and Major Hannity, and have (admirably) quelled their ability to think for themselves. TV is essential to Our Lifestyle and Intellectual Vitality.

So as we can see, retreat to the Gulch does nothing.

So in the spirit of These Times, THE Captain urges all disgruntled and disaffected True Believers to do the Right Thing. Close the garage door, turn on the Hummer, and drift away into the waiting arms of Jesus. A handful of Xanax washed down with a fine Scotch, or in Dusty’s case, a bargain vodka. Be creative!! However, THE Captain wishes to discourage more overt shows of auto-demise, such as self-immolation, sucking the .45, or tossing oneself on the MARTA tracks. That would be unseemly, and it would never do for our Final Statement to be impolite. Such street theatre is the baliwick of granolamunchinglesbothespians and their pot smoking Democrat leaders. Let us not go there.

So, precisely at the moment that St John concedes the race, let us all “turn out the lights”, metaphorically speaking, and leave the lazy Islamunistorastawelfarians to fend for themselves in the darkness, without the help of the Productive Class members like Ragnut and Dusty and Mr Wooten, those who contribute so much to Our Way of Life. That’ll show Those People who’s boss!!!!

Beware of bad spinmeisters. Last week Saxby Shameless astutely noticed the long lines of voters wrapped around the early voting locations across the country. He less than astutely stated his opinion, in the vernacular of the deep south, on the direction that he thought the early votes were going.

Not likely to see this on Fox and Friends but WSBTV caught a guy that has a residence in Hart Co, GA and a residence in Florida casting a vote in Hart Co in addition to an absentee vote in Florida.

“WSB-TV Channel 2 tried to find Thomas Habel at the home where he’s registered to vote in Hartwell, Georgia, but was unable to locate him.

That’s because he was spending time at his other home in Marco Island, Florida. Before he left for the Sunshine State, according Georgia’s Secretary of State, Habel early-voted at the Hart County elections office.

Chief registrar Elizabeth Forbes says she knows Habel and saw him cast his ballot. She even gave him a sticker. State records confirm Habel voting on October 1, 2008, but Florida records show him voting there on October 25.”

NOT for a man who thinks the Consitution needs to be re-written HIS way- because the founding fathers got it wrong. The arrogance. His inexperience and shallowness is frightening. His elitist, two-faced, empty rhetoric is abominable. His associations- past and present- are nefarious. And Michelle thinks “America is a downright mean country.” God save us!

Reviewing the venom and vitriol spewed above, not to mention in MSM everywhere, I am struck by one thought. When we show such hatred and contempt for our own presidential candidates, how can we hope with any sense that long-standing historical rival fractions such as Jews and Arabs, Shiites and Sunnis, etc. will ever be able to settle their differences and co-exist? We are truly a mad species, and I wonder anew how we have avoided self-selection to date. One things for sure. This is one election that’s going to be remembered for a very, very long time to come, and the results spawned thereby will be as well.

If Obama wins, the House and the Senate will be bright red after the 2010 elections.

Sen. Obama has no clue what he’s in for if he is elected. He has spent the last half of his SHORT career in the senate campaigning for an office he isn’t qualified for. No one would hire a person with no executive or business experience to run a company. The American electorate may well do that. Hopefully Obama will be so underwater he’ll be so ineffective that he will do little and screw up nothing.

I personally think none of the candidates would make a good president. I think the candidates do not have the stomach to fix what the United States has become. I wouldn’t vote, even if I could. I am only a couple months off of being 18 and I am relieved because of that. Although if I was forced to vote, I would vote for Obama because I agree with more of his policies than I do McCain’s policies. But I believe our country is ruined and another opponent should have ran who would be strong enough to support the country and get it back on track. But I have a feeling this election isn’t going down without a couple fights and/or riots. It’s pretty chaotic online today. The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

It’s somewhat sad to see folks - in both camps- so utterly ill-equipped to represent a position without name-calling or vilifying someone with an opposing point of view.

As stated above - and thanks JSW for a moment of sanity in blogsphere - both candidates provide an upgrade over the current White House occupant. I’d argue they are also, both superior to Kerry and Al Gore.

The difference - Obama successfully articulated a clear direction and vision. McCain didn’t. You may not agree with the Obama direction - but you definitely know where is plans to go.

McCain could have overcome this problem IF he had shown an ounce of the superior judgment he claimed, when picking a running mate. I’d go so far as to say that if he had picked Elizabeth Dole - he would currently be the leader in the MSM skewed polls.

The telling indicator in Jim’s op-ed piece is Karl Rove’s prediction. Karl is looking for his next gig - so he benefits most if he correctly forecasts the race - not if he make some grand statement about McCain closing the gap. Much as I personally dislike his tactics - Rove probably understands the American electorate as well as anyone - and that does not bode well for Senator McCain.

First off, Liddy Dole is even older than St John of Hanoi, and he’s what, 84 or 85??

Second, THE Captain cannot even imagine rubbing one out while gazing at a photo of Liddy Dole. Just what do you think killed Bob Dole’s dick in the first place. For the love of mercy, man!

Finally, Liddy Dole just whines about atheists, and ineffectively at that. Our Sarah battles openly with atheists and witches and liberals, and has been known to hunt and execute them from small aircraft. That, my friends, is Christianist pride we can believe in.

The former is something that sadly happens in life, the latter is a poor choice.

I was under the impression that congress has as much impact on those kinds of things as the executive branch? But I guess that’s ‘my bad’. I can’t remember…when did the congress ‘change hands’ as to which party was the majority? And when did all of this stuff with the economy, housing, gas, mortgage, stock market start? VOTE BOB BARR IN 2008! The other two candidates are the exact same. all we know is that obama is gonna change something he wont say how, when, where, why and to whom, and we also know that john mccain is a maverick. Whatever that means. If the liberal media would actually allow all candidates to debate and have equal time bob barr would have taken it with a landslide. No doubt about it. Obama is just being voted on by race and mccain is too much of the same. I can also not vote for obama because his wife hates america and is racist. (yes black people can be racist too)

I can’t believe that people don’t realize this decline started almost in conjunction with the election of a majority house (democrat)! Dims (oops, I mean dems!) call republicans stupid. We’ll see how stupid they think we are when their paychecks are reduced. I mean do people think that come January we’re going to have better education, gay marriage, end of the war, cheap health care, balanced budget, etc., etc., etc.? Dream on! No, we’re probably going to hav Bill Mayer as Secretary of Defense and Michael Moore heading the newly formed fat, stupid and ugly people have rights too committee. How ironic is it that in 2000 and even 2004, the Dimwitcrats claimed that people were kept from voting, an accusation that was never once taken to court by a single accuser. Now we have radical Obamanation activists (read: Black Panthers) blocking access in a Phillie district for GOP voters. Imagine that! Imagine if the roles were reversed and McCain goons were doing that for Dimcrats. Oh the horror! Naturally the media is silent on this matter. Then there’s that little fact in the Philly area where GOP poll watchers were given the boot because of their minority status:

GOP Election Board members have been tossed out of polling stations in at least half a dozen polling stations in Philadelphia because of their party status.

A Pennsylvania judge previously ruled that court-appointed poll watchers could be NOT removed from their boards by an on-site election judge, but that is exactly what is happening, according to sources on the ground.

Well, congratulations Dimcrats. You have become everything that you claimed the GOP was: vote intimidators, vote suppressors, vote fraudulentors, and definitely without question dictators in the waiting with a ‘Phillybuster proof’ congress.

I can’t wait to see how this turns out in a few years. You frauds on the moveon.frog left will have nobody to blame but yourselves, tyrants. And what does the Obamanation mean about a powerful civilian security force? Will we be required to show our papers if we aren’t Dimcrats?

You liberals are such ‘fair minded’ people, aren’t ya.

So in the spirit of These Times, THE Captain urges all disgruntled and disaffected True Believers to do the Right Thing. Close the garage door, turn on the Hummer, and drift away into the waiting arms of Jesus.

Funny you should mention the dem drifters who are, as we type, entering my church (a polling precinct) to cast their votes for THEIR CHOSEN MESSIAH, The One who will deliver? or leave them adrift.

As a conservative, I find enjoyment in all things — Told ‘ya sos are among my favorites.

If the worm turns, I’ll look forward to asking:

Why the hell didn’t that $1.37 a day go as far as you leftists predicted it would?

Why the hell are so many people unemployed?

Why the hell did that soldier have to die in Afghanistan?

Why the hell haven’t those alternative fuels been delivered? The increased gas prices are killing us?

Why the hell has the price of everything gone up. I’m gonna need more than $1.37 a day to meet the rise in cost of goods and services?

From whence did THE ONE’s solutions originate?

I won’t be able to resist asking if the leftists enjoyed the trip downward. HE made it sound so enticing, HE did.

By lucylou

Wow, you folks are down right mean! The mentality of most of your comments is exactly what got us here in the first place. I am a life long Democrat, married a Democratic politician, my parents were Democrats, worked for a Democrat, and as partisan as my past is, I do not dislike, or for that matter hate, anyone as much as most of you.

The fact of the matter is people who do not want to vote for Senator Obama are looking for any reason not to do so. Whether it’s because of his name (he didn’t name himself), or his skin color-again he had no control over that; or the fact that his mother married a black man-(again, not his fault), so stop looking for excuses. If you do not favor Senator Obama, please make sure it is for the right reasons such as you don’t agree with his policies, or his economic package, or his foreign policy package. Just don’t make it about what you’re making it about-his skin color, his name, and the fact his father was black. Best look at our own lineage.

For those of us who are not for Senator McCain, there are so many things we could say about him, but why? He has given to his country-above and beyond the call of duty, and should have earned the respect of all Americans. Governor Palin will no doubt be an up and coming star in the Republican party, but she has much to learn.

This country is not based on hate-we are the good guys, but after reading these comments, one would begin to wonder. This hate filled lingo is exactly what the terrorists want us to do- turn on each other. For those of us who were not Bush supporters, we have suffered through 8 long years, as did those who were not Clinton supporters. Get over yourselves. Besides, it’s not like you are going to be President- you just want to spout off insults and innuendo. One of the men that had the guts to get up and say I’m gonna try and make my country better is who is going to be the next President of the United States of America.

If they can keep their mouths shut after all of the mudslinging, perhaps, there is a lesson to be learned by all of us.

Well, I ain’t going to kill myself the way this Captain Redneck says us godly conservatives should if Obama gets elected.

So I give it some thought for awhile and decided I’m going to treat this election the same way I treat stuff on TV I don’t want to hear. I’m going to turn my back on it.

Far as I’m concerned, this election never happened. So when people start talking to me about how President Obama done this and done that, I’m going to say, “You mean President Bush, don’t you?”

Sure, they’ll look at me funny, but that’s better than letting myself think this country elected a librul Democrat for president. That’s unthinkable anyway.

So I’m inviting Sister Dusty and @@ and AJCCommie and Raghead and other good conservatives on this blog to join me tonight. Just keep the TV off and pertend this election never was and never happened. And for the next four years just turn your back to the TV every time somebody comes on and starts yapping about President Obama. There ain’t no President Obama. There won’t be no President Obama, unless you get weak and start listening to the TV or people.

Anyhow, that’s a heck of alot better than burning a whole bunch of gas in a closed garage and dying to boot.

REASONS WHY I CANT VOTE OBAMA

1) I can never support anyone who does not have the respect to our flag and will not stand and acknowledge our pledge of allegiance or the national anthem.

2) I can not vote obama because of his previous books he has written saying he will stand with the arabs when the s** hits the fan. Cand and wont do it.

3) I am not swayed by the liberal media like most people

4) I think its wrong to vote clearly on race and thats what hes getting. noone actually knows the issues

5) His wife hate this country and is racist towards white people. How can she stand up and say that this was the first time in her life that she was proud of this country F U! Was it not her that went to school on scholarships and govt grant money in the first place. And have any of yall actually read her papers from college WOW what a racist

6) I can also not vote for someone that wants to create a new vietnam yes we are all p** off about the war and want our troops home and what not but we are stuck and if we pull out it will be another disaster to our troops.

7) I also dont go along with whats cool and what hollywood wants.

8) I can not vote for someone who can not pass a secret service clearance. Obama wouldnt even come close to passing one neither did clinton kinda funny that the past strongrunners clinton and obama would not have been able to pass a secret service clearance because of the people they associate with.

9) and finally his church. How can someone just leave and say that that church meant nothing to him. He went there for 20 years. Why now why now get out of that church that hates america, hates white people and all they do is b*** about the poor black man, well didnt that preacher just build a 32 million dollar house yea he really knows what its like to be a poor black man. gimme a break

Ever since this country began the issues have been the same lower taxes blah blah blah it never changes all of you who are jumping on this obama ban wagon know your facts before you vote not what the liberal media is telling you. VOTE BUT VOTE SMART

THE Captain is wounded that Redneck Convert is hesitant to join the Great Depopulation Effort. For it is people like RC whose participation is so desperately necessary. Allow THE Captain to explain slowly and in short words that Redneck and other low-intelligence Republicans can understand.

Obamandingo is all set to turn this nation into a hippity hoppity bling fest, with all the white women turned loose as prey in a sort of live hunt reality TV show. The only way to stop this sham of travesty of a mockery is to cut the hippity hoppity lifeblood at the source.

Yes, THE Captain is talking about malt liquor, which is delivered to the seething masses by Redneck’s own beer truck.

Now in normal times (and by “normal” THE Captain means times in which White People assume the burden of caring for the coloreds while safeguarding their rights that We don’t let them use), prompt delivery of alcohol and tobacco to the Obamandingos is a salutary method for exerting control and maintaining a lethargic acquiesence. Oh, wait, sorry, this is for Redneck….okay, try this. When WE are in charge, keeping the minorities drunk is a good thing. When THEY (y’know, Those People) are in charge, alcohol is fuel to the fires of debauchery.

Oh, hang it all. THE Captain is incapable of dumbing down His message to the level of snaggle toothed trailer denizens like Red. Okay, one more time…if the beer trucks stop running, ‘they” will be mighty sorry they voted for the Commie Pinko Fascist Islamunisto Darkie.

Its amazing to me the number of younger people who are voting for Obama. When asked to supply 3 reasons why they will vote for Obama I’ve repeatedly received the same answers. 1. He’s Cool. 2. It’s time for change. 3. He’s Cool. To what level of moral decrepitude has our nation fallen to? Are we really basing our presidential candidates on their level of coolness? What about foreign policies, the economy, taxes, moral character, and did I mention foreign policy? Today’s young people have fallen for the MTV Marketing by the Obama campaign. The greatest part of being American is that we “do” get to pick who we want. I find no fault with who you cast your vote for as long as you are informed and are able to provide a respectable argument as to why your candidate is the right candidate. Being Cool will not see us through the difficult times that I fear lie ahead for the American public. So young people wake up! Please vote, please get involved and please look beyond the glitz and glamour. Search the candidates and vote your conscience. Because “Cool” people are “informed” people. May God have mercy on our land.

THE Captain applauds @@ with her realization that after 8 years of uncritical support of Our Leader, it is time for we of True Belief to stand foursquare in opposition to Obama and his Gang of Four.

THE Captain joins @@, but asks that nobody tell the folks who have already signed on for the Post Electoral Depopulation Project. THE Captain thinks it is a fine idea for other people to sacrifice in that way for The Cause, but as with His avoidance of military service (pilondial cyst, you know), it is good for other people to so sacrifice.

Sacrifice for other people. It’s the Republican way.

Get a grip @ 3:39:

Seems like it has become “united we stand, oh, as long as you do what I think is right….and don’t pay attention to anybody else’s opinion.”

Can we mention OBlahMa ejecting three journalists from McCain endorsing newspapers off his campaign, “plane” and simple? Can we talk about the Orlando anchor who was told she would be allowed no further access to his campaign because she dared to ask a question?

And “The Average Joe?” — do ‘ya wanna go there? Personal attacks by leftists? Government demwits snoopin’ into his private records lookin’ for dirt?

A united effort from the left to inhibit free speech.

So Captain and RedNeck are one and the same.

I suspected as much but now “both” of them missed the military because of a “pilondial cyst”. It is not just a coincidental comment, it is from our undercover agent, the one and only RedNeck Captain. One and only liberal, that is.

Well, such duplication does take talent. Throw in some brains and it will be fairly good. But what will you do when the election is over? Back to the fish market?

Three hours to usual closing time. Anything new yet?

Wih the endorsement of Hugo Chavez today on Globovision, Obama must be a very proud communist in training.

The dems now have, Reverend Wright, Osama Bin Laden in his tapes and Hugo Chavez as endorsements.

sad that the voting base is so ignorant of what is fact and what is MSNBC/CNN hype.

How many Black in America Documentaries have we been fed the past 3 months by CNN?

Just plain old socialist/communist garbage and their friends confirm that.

Trash is being spewed by both sides. Obama people calling others racists who dont support him. Mccain supporters everything else. I voted for Mccain, dont care for him but I dont agree with Obama on his abortion stance and his liberal constitutional stance. If obama wins we’ll see if he truly can fix the divide in this country. I doubt he can. In fact everybody should realize now that any presidential candidate cant and wont realize their campaign promises. So vote for one and hope for the best.

Dear dim Dusty….the pilondial cyst is epidemic amongst Real Americans who would put themselves into combat if only given the chance, and had God not cursed them with the cyst.

Fortunately, like THE Captain and other, lesser punditocrats like Redneck and that Limbaugh guy, are able to serve in their own way, as opinion leaders and beer truck drivers.

But Dusty will no doubt treasure her new found “fact” and worry it unto rawness, much like the time she discovered that little pleasure button down there.

But enough about Dusty, since a waste is a terrible thing to mind.

No Captain….@@ will not be sacrificing herself due to the depression that will follow an OBlahMa presidency. Because I AM a conservative in every way….I will prevail.

I will, however, sacrifice my principles by the laying on of (thickly and often), the hands of patriotism. The ones that leftists believe to be my patriotic duty.

I’ll leave the OBlahMa believers to board the mothership on which Farrakhan will serve as their flight attendant — coffee? tea? me? where’s the beef jerky?

I’ve heard OBlahMa say that a “righteous wind” is at their back.

Well…..up, up and away I say. Happy circling.

Ah dear Captain Red of the Freedom Fighters,

I see you have forsaken your role as Jim Jones for the demise of Republicans. Now you are the declarer of false facts and undercover renouncemnts, thus saying nothing. Then you lapse into your usual degeneracy which I will ignore.

Obama will be ashamed of you for your salacious failings and will release you from his honor guard of militants, with a tear in his eye I might add. That may be because you, being the same age as his grandmother, remind him of his sadness. Also, an Obama tear of joy probably comes from the thought of your departure from his ranks.

Farewell, Captain Red. On to your next role. SNL needs some stage hands. N’est pas??

Vice President Joe Biden said today that he’s appointing a special prosecutor to investigate the entire Bush Administration.

President Obama was in the Rose Garden meeting with foreign dignitaries who arrived to congratulate his election.

Michele Obama spent the day with Windex wiping all the graffiti the Bush Twins drew all over every single room in the white house.
