‘Barack the bomb-thrower’
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
“Barack, the guy running for president,” became Barack the (stink) bomb thrower Tuesday, suggesting that John McCain can put lipstick on a pig — a reference to Gov. Sarah Palin’s joke about the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull is lipstick — and it’s still the policies of George Bush.
Obama’s reeling and reaching. Democrats are searching for dirt or something beyond a few photos of kids with booze or a very attractive mom in a bikini to use Palin’s selection to sink McCain. And who can blame them? A CNN-Opinion Research poll taken Sept. 5-7 puts her up 53-44 in a head-to-head with Joe Biden.
Obama followed the lipstick-on-the-pig ploy with the she’s-needed-at-home approach. Palin’s an interesting story, he said. “Look, she’s new, she hasn’t been on the scene, she’s got five kids. And my hat goes off to anybody who’s looking after five. I’ve got two and they tire Michelle and me out.”
Obama and Biden will overplay it with Palin. Watch them.
More interesting to me, though, than the lipstick line was Obama’s view of his country, as expressed in remarks playing off his first name.
Speaking in Detroit Tuesday night, Obama responded to a questioner asking about civil liberties by saying that he is accused of being “less interested in protecting you from terrorists than reading them their rights.” He criticized the administration’s suspension of habeas corpus rights for suspected terrorists.
Habeas corpus, he said, ” is the foundation of Anglo-American law, which says very simply, if the government grabs you, then you have the right to at least ask, Why was I grabbed?' and say,Maybe, you’ve got the wrong person.’” The continued:
“The reason we have that safeguard is we don’t always have the right person. We don’t always catch the right person.
“We may think this is Muhammad the terrorist. It might be Muhammad the cab driver. You may think it’s Barack the bomb-thrower. But it might be Barack, the guy running for president.”
In other words, the U.S. war on terrorism is based on stereotypes. Any old Muhammad. And old Barack. They look alike and have funny names.
Barack, the guy running for president, constantly reminds us, however unintentionally, why he stumbles through simple questions from seven-year-olds, as he did in telling one why he wants to be president:
“America is, is no longer, uh, what it could be, what it, it once was…and I say to myself, I don’t want that future for my children.”

RESCUE: Henry M. Paulson Jr. says the next president and Congress must decide the mortgage giants’ fate. (Getty Images)
In mid-July, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson told Congress that there would be no need for the federal government to take over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, saying they had adequate capital to weather the storm. Yet less than two months later, that is exactly what happened.
Treasury is going to infuse the two government-sponsored entities with about $200 billion, spend $1 billion acquiring preferred stocks in each company and another $5 billion buying new mortgage-backed securities issued by Fannie and Freddie on the open market. All of this is to shore up confidence among investors and the two companies’ debt holders - largely Asian banks - that their money will not be lost. But for the average investor, there will be no federal security blanket. In the end, Mr. Paulson chose to put the companies into conservatorship, a slightly less intrusive takeover whereby the Federal Housing Finance Agency will run the company. Or to put it bluntly, guard the money while the next Congress and president figure out what to do with them.
Mr. Paulson should be congratulated for trying to somewhat protect taxpayers, but it still is a band-aid approach. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are failing, and are likely to cost more money than projected because the housing downturn is expected to continue well into next year.
Mr. Paulson and others actually made the claim that the federal government could end up making a profitable investment if the mortgage companies make a significant turnaround. The real problem that comes to bear is trust.
Treasury took this action despite the fact that they had already told Congress they would not. Now, the sum of Treasury’s solution is to effectively pass the buck, leaving open the possibility that as the two companies gradually climb out of the pit, members of Congress may decide to continue their private entity backed by government dollars business model without any meaningful reform. That is the great tragedy. As long as Freddie and Fannie are in business this way, expecting a government bailout whenever they get in over their heads, it is the taxpayer who pays the price. That has to end.

McCain criticized Democratic contenders for offering what he called costly universal health care proposals that require too much government regulation. While he said he had not studied Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s health-care plan, he said it was “eerily reminiscent” of the failed plan she offered as first lady in the early 1990s. “I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig,” he said of her proposal. Jim, did you write this up too? Did McCain offer an apology?
“They say the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull: lipstick.” Sarah Palin I guess some animals are ok.

Yesterday, Obama shared his plan for education, and this is what Wooten writes.

Are voters smarter than fifth-graders? Republicans hope not Athens Banner-Herald | Story updated at 8:39 pm on 9/9/2008
Bill Shipp more Shipp columns…Let’s hear it for Kathy Cox. The Georgia schools superintendent won $1 million in Hollywood on the TV quiz show, “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?”
She says she plans to give some of the prize money to the state’s special-needs schools. That is truly magnanimous. It will help restore some of the funds her predecessor stole from the state education department to pay for a facelift and finance her campaign for governor.
Kathy deserves full credit and our congratulations for finally making Georgia look good on national TV.
It’s too bad Kathy wasn’t the guest on “The Colbert Report” when one of our congressmen was stumped when asked to recite at least a couple of the Ten Commandments. I’ll bet Kathy could have handled that question as easy as pie, and she hasn’t even been out demanding (as the congressman has) that the Ten Commandments be posted all over the place.
It’s also regrettable that Kathy didn’t go to Clayton County before she went to Hollywood. The messed-up Clayton school system might have used Kathy’s considerable smarts to clean up its schools and avoid making national headlines by losing its accreditation.
Come to think of it, Gov. Sonny Perdue could have used his powers to order the state to take charge of the runaway school system. But what the heck? It was just another predominately black system gone awry. You can’t fix everybody’s school system, can you, Guv?
Besides, the governor was off in Washington helping his fellow Republicans devise the smartest presidential election strategy I have witnessed in my long career. I am sincere about this. The GOP may have changed the nature of American politics forever.
The elephants are running against themselves. They have stolen the Democrats’ “time for a change” theme and started using it to win the White House again. The strategy looks like it’s working, too. The Obama campaign already has given up on “putting Georgia back in play” and started pulling money and personnel out of the Peach State to use elsewhere.
You have to wonder how Republicans can run against themselves with a straight face. This is the party that ran up a record deficit, destroyed the real estate industry, let unemployment soar to a record high and got us stuck us in a potentially trillion-dollar war. Now they promise change if we’ll just re-elect them.
The funny thing is, the American voters seem to be leaning toward sending Sen. John McCain and his moose-hunting sidekick to Washington to take up where President Bush left off. The ticket’s theme seems to be: “Give us one more chance. This time we’ll try not to screw everything up.”
If the grand strategy of running against one’s own record succeeds nationally, just think how it might be applied to the Georgia election of 2010.
We’re a natural for an all-out Republican campaign for change so the GOP can keep doing what it already is doing in the state Capitol.
Just look at the record:
Republicans have been in control of Georgia schools for 14 years, with a Republican governor running things for six of those years. The schools are in worse shape than ever, and state government has whacked school spending by more than $1 billion. It’s as if the GOP set out to undermine public education in our state.
Transportation is a colossal mess in every growing area of Georgia. And Gov. Perdue is raising the roof about the DOT running out of money - by slapping one layer of asphalt on top of another on highways all over the state. That’s not the way to fix transportation, but it sure does help those needy souls in the asphalt-laying business.
Under Republican leadership, the annual state budget has soared from $15 billion to $21 billion and is still climbing.
That doesn’t mean pork-barrel projects have gone out of style in Georgia. The state has built boat ramps to dry lakes everywhere you look. They are our version of Alaska’s bridge to nowhere.
So you see, dear friends, Georgia is the perfect guinea pig for trying out the Republicans’ change strategy on the state level. The state elephants are betting that we voters are too dumb to figure out their newest magic trick of blaming the fellow in the mirror for all our woes and promising to get rid of him.
You see, they think most of us are not smarter than fifth-graders. They may be right. We’re not even smarter than sheep.

THE Captain is of course shocked and horrified that the candidate with the terrist name would demean the lovely and librarian-sexy Sarah Plain. Of course he knew what he was sayin’, the nasty negro. It’s just like those time St John used that phrase to describe Hillary, Chelsea, and Mitt the Mormontologist - and everybody knows they’re a bunch of pigs!! It’s even worse that Hussein stole the line from the ever-articulate St John. I just hate it when campaigns try to steal the other guy’s phrases and themes.
Some of the Islamunistolinguafascists would have us believe that this is a folksy old-timey saying favored by octagenarians like Wooten and St John to describe a package that is tarted up to make it seem more attractive than it really is (kind of like Sister Dusty), but THE Captain knows that in the shriveled evil heart of that Darkee Democrat, nothing breeds except hatred and contempt for Real Americans like THE Captain. And Mr Wooten and his friend Redneck Convert. And, of course, Sister Dusty, that paragon of Republican Womanly Virtue.
But enough of this minor kerfuffle. Sure Hussein Obama is a fifth column Muslim supremacy supporter and one-man terror cell. Everyone knows that! It was in an email!! But the main issue today is the salutary effort by the Plain/McCain ticket to highlight the sexually predatory nature of Obamandingo. His crusade to teach young people all about teh sex thing is but the latest in his evil crusade to find out “where all de white womens at”. For surely, the leering, massively endowed Bwana Zulu is only “biden his time” (geddit?) until he can have his tumescent way with each and every one of our precious pre-elementary children. Thank God for Sarah Plain and her running mate for alerting Real America to this looming lechery.
Now, mark THE Captain’s words…the sexualibernazi wing of the Islamosodomite party (that’s the Democrats, in case you could not follow THE Captain’s expansive grasp of global strategic reality) will try to tell us that the legislation in question is designed to help young people understand the perils of casual sex, and to help very young people know how to avoid being molested repeatedly by an avuncular family friend who might be a “respected” ahem attorney who uses a clever nordic nom de plume. But of course, nothing could be further from the truth, because it is the left-wing’s fervent desire that all young people have sex, sex, sex, until we are nothing but a Nation of m@$turb@ting qu33rs and pregnant 17-year olds who get knocked up in the back seat of a camaro with strapping young scholar-athletes.
Finally, THE Captain wishes to affirm his growing affection for the comely Sarah Plain. That first night we spent together at the Convention could have been like so many first encounters — fueled by excitement at our first time, perhaps a tad messy, and inevitably followed by THE Captain’s tears and regret. But the weeks since have proved Our Hot Veep is really THE PERFECT REPUBLICAN WOMAN. She never speaks out of turn. She display proper deference to her male betters (unlike that Hillary Harpy), while denigrating Those People who have ruined Our Nation. And she continues to repeatedly perform the same feats of oral prowess upon command!!! Never a syllable out of place, and without a concern for her chapped lips (which explains all the lipstick). All this time we thought Dusty was the alpha and omega of True Belief Womanhood, but THE Captains daresays (dares-say??) that Our Sarah of the Tundra has outclassed even our own local liberal-bashing loony.
To borrow from the Redneck, that ever-incisive avatar of Common Sense conservatism: this is THE Captain’s opinion, and it is very true.
(THE Captain only wishes He had thought of that tag line. Damn. Outsmarted by a trailer monkey. Again.)

A lot more desperation coming from the right as buyer’s remorse sets in on the Palin pick. Turns out she’s not so clean and pure as they’d hoped. (Not that the facts will matter to the evangelical right that she was recruited to bring in.)
At election time, Americans will still see the damage that eight years of disastrous Republican rule have done… and they’ll still vote for President Obama. McLame is a sacrificial candidate, still hoping to stay out of the spotlight and somehow win by default.

It seems like our country is having about fourteen conversations with itself today. I just heard your interview on Morning Joe and wanted to respond. I am a registered independent, college educated, I’ve always worked. My hardest, most time cosuming, most frustrating and by far most rewarding job has been motherhood and now grandmotherhood. My first reaction to the Palin pick was concerning the Down baby. The Palins chose not to abort a Down baby. With that decision came the responsibility to care, love and give that baby the best they had to offer. It is a lifetime commitment. I know, I’ve watched friends and family go through this. It is a lifelong commitment. It confuses me to see crowds cheer as she holds that baby on the stage…I wonder if the loud noise is scaring him.(She chose life!)…I wonder what about their commitment to that child. I respect their decision, I question their judgment now. Are they ‘using’ him? And are we party to this? We should all stop and think…what is really going on here?

To Hillary’s supporters who are supporting Palin and who apparently adore her, you have just insulted Hillary beyond anything you would ever know. Palin’s policies are vastly different from Hillary and to say that you support Palin is an insult to Hillary. Hillary would never support Palin. This shows that you simply supported Hillary because she was a woman and you wanted a woman candidate but you did not believe in her and what she could do and bring about. You contributed to her defeat and now you insult her.

Good morning all. I think it is fair to note that Sarah has thrown Obama off his game. On a separate page of this blog I have already noted the dazzling political-philosophical essay by Camille Paglia today, linked by Drudge. Surely she is the greatest thinker on the left, Chomsky notwithstanding.
http://www.salon.com/opinion/paglia/2008/09/10/palin/
As to the “lipstick on a pig” jab, I think that is a pretty clever line. And should have been anticipated, knowing how Muslims feel about unclean animals.
Sarah poses a significant challenge for the left – they can reasonably see themselves losing every presidential election until 2032 (eight years McCain-Palin, eight years Palin-Jindal, and eight years Jindal-Bush.) Thus they have to strangle the baby in the crib, or as a leftist would view it, a post-birth abortion. Thus the lies and half-truths and false surmise, all ad hominem all the time. Leftists cannot afford to run the election on the issues.

All these feminists jumping to Palin’s defence for God only knows what reason. You may hide behind your feminist faces, but you all know that if she had to make a choice between a sick child and a 3am call, she would take the child. It has nothing to be with being sexist, woman are naturally nurturers and whether we have a husband or not to help us with the family, our natural instinct will always be to put our children first.
Now Sarah has a Downs Syndrome - these kids needs more attention than kids with no disability. I know because I have been there. To top it off she has a 17 year old pregnant daughter about to get married. This child is going to need her mother to help her new baby and to guide her from being a child to a mother to a wife. A father cannot do this. We cannot say if this was a man would he be questioned about his decision because it is not the same. He is a man, and men’s roles within the family unit are different from the mothers roles. He has his own part to play in raising those children just as the mother has her own role. If Sarah did not have a Downs Syndrome child and a pregnant 17 year old daughter there would be no question about her ability to juggle motherhood and Vice Presidency. But she does and that’s the reality we need to face. This is about her family, the children and how they will manage.
Her daughter is getting married. Is she going to pack her and her husband up and force them to move to Washington. They will now have thier own life and may choose elsewhere to live and will she be in a position to support and assist them while sitting in Washington. The VP is the second most important job in the country and deserves 100% of her attention. Her family are her top priority before the VP post and they deserve 100% of her. Something is going to give and if she gets into the White House she will see the cost she paid. I want a VP that I can trust to put her families needs first before her own.

He called her exactly what she is. Love those one-liners. You see they picked her as VP candidate to attack this man every chance she get. Figuring if he said anything about her the American people would be outraged, and see it as a black man attacking a white woman. But they don’t tell you how the republicans attacked Hillary with the same line. They even had the gall to say ugly and demeaning things about Chelsea who had been kept out of the whole political ring during the Clintons reign. If anyone has been following them on the campaign trail they know that every word that comes out of Palin’s mouth has been ugly and demeaning towards Barack. During the convention she spent 90% of her time belittling this man 8% talking about McCain the wounded vet and 2% of her time talking about what it means to be a hockey mom. Barack started out saying no attacks about her or her family. But she never let up on him, and because a person can only take so much, yesterday he fought back. If he had been lying I would be one to call him on it. But because he was telling the truth, I say “YOU GO BARACK”. Not only that they have attacked this mans family, and even when he found out her daughter 17-year-daughter was pregnant he said nothing ugly about it. He has my vote because he has proven that these people are divisive and under-handed, he has said all along lets talk about the issues. They have no issues, so they attack. Yesterday Barack fought back.

Bad timing of Obama about the “lipstick” comment, but as others pointed out, McCain and others have used the same phrase, so drop it!
My, what a difference the last 2 weeks has made. McCain’s choice of this woman has temporarily thrown BO’s camp off guard; makes it look like he should’ve picked Hillary, despite what that would’ve meant down the road with three people as president (Obama, Hill, and Bill).
White women—angry Hillary voters; republican base conservatives and undecideds—are just SO HAPPY to see a white woman up there, they [foolishily!]aren’t even concerned about the issues, nor that McCain had only met Palin ONE time in February, and then just once on a Wednesday, before he offered her the spot on Thursday! How do you pick someone you don’t even know to be VP of the country?
And men—the lovable, but often thinking-with-the-wrong-head souls they are—have kinda’ switched over, because they think Palin is hot. As if they’re going to get some.
What’s scary is, what if McCain gets in and his butt croaks, these foreign countries will jump on the U.S. with both feet, with this know-nothing woman at the helm. But then, too, we’ve had Bush, and he probably knows less. Bush, followed by McCain/Palin…the rest of the world thinks the US is stupid.
And the repubs are so cunning and nasty: The fact that all of us want to know what this woman thinks about the issues, but the repubs are keeping here away from speaking to the news media. They aren’t wanting to question her because she’s a woman; it will be because she might be VP of the country! Wake up, people! Why are they keeping her off limits!!? Think!
The debates are even more crucial than ever. But as a friend of mine said late last night…ain’t a darn thing he can do. All he can do is cast his ONE vote, in a sea of perhaps 150 million.
But this shows you that McCain doesn’t think much of women, white women especially, for all he is doing is saying ‘you white women didn’t get Hillary, so here’s one. pick her,’ and white women are lapping it up, “snow”ed over. He thinks you are stupid, and some are proving him right. Being a mother and eating moose and throwing sarcastic barbs does NOT mean you’re ready to be VP.
It might be too early for Barack, but I’ll take my chances on him beacause it is way too late for McCain, especially after the past abysmal 8 years of Bush. Lord help us.

Mrs. Godzilla: Very well put; I couldn’t agree with you more. For the uneducated shut ins of the Repub Party, the line is You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig! Was he refering to McCain? A change agent, indeed!
When is McSame going to let her out in public? Is she that much of a risk if she is not READING her speech? Like McClone? He has said the same thing over and over and over and over but still needs a script to read from. His memory (except for his time in N Vietnam) is suspect. So what if he gets it wrong, he’ll just say the Democrats are twisting his words, that it was a slip, or that he really didn’t say it.
How accessible to all the American people will she and McCains administration be? If this is an indication they can move the White House to Alaska or Anwar.
An advocate of Change? What, his mind? Other than earmarks and alledgedly running the corrupt ones out of Washington (can anyone remember Keating 5), what will he do differently? Will he purge the Republican leadership (the ones who haven’t already quit, been indicted, or prosecuted) that has continued to be minority leaders?

The lawyer in me could not help but seize the opportunity to point out the complex legal issue that Mr. Wooten puts into play today. As I think my friend Jbmlaw would probably agree, the right of habeas corpus has not been suspended in this country and is implicated anytime anyone is detained under suspicion of a criminal activity. The rights of habeas corpus are not afforded to enemy combatants, but the rights under the Geneva Conventions are.
The Bush Administration has attempted to place a square peg in a round hole, use the exception as the rule, and every other illogical cliche by labeling suspected ‘terrorists’ as “unlawful enemy combatants” and claiming that those individuals are not entitled to any protections, as either alleged criminals or as individuals at war with the U.S. Now, if one takes a step back and thinks about this in the context of history, it should chill the objective American.
President Lincoln suspended habeas corpus and declared martial law in Maryland to prevent its secession. Yet neither Jefferson Davis nor Robert E. Lee were ever captured, tried, or tortured despite declaring war on the United States.
Similarly, the leaders of the Nazi Party responsible for the implementation of the Final Solution (and several hundred thousand American soldiers’ deaths) received full and fair trials before military tribunals.
The despicable officers of the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong armies who tortured American heroes (like John McCain) were never rounded up and held without any process.
Further, in each of these instances, the U.S. did not retaliate and use torture or vindictive methods to extract a pound of flesh in retaliation. That is simply not who we are.
As the anniversary approaches tomorrow, I hope we will all take a step back and realize that we’re in this together and we, as a nation, have to decide which of our values we hold sacred above all others. I hope that many of you, like me, think that innocent until proven guilty, freedom, and opportunity for all trump our fear of those that would seek to destroy us.
We will triumph over the evildoers who seek to harm us so long as we ourselves do not do more evil.

It has been long said that men often think with the wrong head. Now women are demonstrating they are voting based on “internal mechanisms” instead of using their brain. How can you support someone that you have never heard speak off the cuff in a interview or town hall meeting? That is following mcashame’s logic. All anyone knows about this woman is from a prepared speech that she practiced 100’s of time while in seclusion during the RNC. PS - When is the “first dude” going to speak, Mrs. Obama, Mrs. Biden, and Mrs. McCain have all addressed the pubic, what about Mr. Palin

Jim,
“Barack the Bomb Thrower”??? What’s the hell is that? Your version of calling something a “Terrorist Fist Jab???
I always knew you were wrong but I didn’t think you were STUPID. Obama never called Palin a pig. Just like McCain wasn’t calling Hillary a pig when discussing her health care plan.
It’s interesting you point out the “lipstick on a pig” phrase but failed to mention the “smelly old fish” phrase that Obama also used during the same speech. Very interesting that you don’t claim that he was calling McCain a “stinky old fish”. This just proves that you are pushing a nonexistant sexist agenda by accusing Obama of sexism when non exists. This is to discourage anyone questioning Palin on her record like how she supported funding to the Bridge to Nowhere, her husband having been a member of the successionist Alaska Independence Party till 2002, her pushing and getting the most per capita earmarks for Alaska than any other state.
Are you getting your talking points from the GOP so you can push them here in your column??? This sounds like it.
You just lost the respect that used to be afforded to you.

THE Captain wishes to highlight the singular genius of Mr Wooten in today’s column. While everyone is caterwauling over Obama’s Whitey Hating slur of Miss Piggy,, uhmm, Sarah Plain, we all missed the main point of this column — painting Barack HUSSEIN Obama as a “bomb throwing” terrorist on the eve of 9/11. Although this connection was certainly forwarded innocently and without a whiff of guile, one must grapple with the obviousness of the comparison.
As we contemplate the horror of 9/11, it is incumbent upon all Real Americans to reflect on how this tragedy might be used to improve the electoral prospects of the Palin/McCain ticket and all of the GOP undercard candidates. For what value will the lives of the fallen have if We of True Belief are not allowed to manipulate their memories to advance Common Sense Conservatism, Christocultural Jihad, and Permanent War?
The Palin/McCain ticket might be putting lipstick on a pig, but remember this….muslims HATE pigs, which is one more reason why We must vote for the pigs with lipstick. That’ll show those dancing qtip bombthrowing Obama lovers!!!

Whenever Repubs loose control of a situation they invent a “Shiny New Object” for the media to chase thus distracting us from the important and real issues that they the Republicans created over the past 8 years. “lipstick on a pig” is just their newest in thier long long line of “Shiny New Objects”.

The McCain campaign has finally admitted that this election is about change.
Their new ad uses what news organizations are calling “naked lies” to reinvent two politicians whose records embody the same culture of corruption and far-right policies we’ve seen from the Bush administration.
The biggest whopper in the ad (that’s still being repeated day after day by McCain and Palin on the campaign trail) is that Governor Palin stopped the infamous “Bridge to Nowhere” — in fact, she supported it, and even hired a lobbyist in Washington to get more pork-barrel projects like it.
If the McCain-Palin campaign wants to have a debate about who is prepared to bring the change we need, we’re more than ready.
So we just launched a new ad to set the record straight on McCain and Palin. Will you watch our response ad and make a donation of $25 or more to help us keep it on the air?
Here are the facts …
Sarah Palin was a vocal supporter of the infamous “Bridge to Nowhere” — the symbol of the Republican culture of corruption — turning her back on it only after the project’s bloated pork-barrel waste was exposed.
Their ad also claims John McCain has “reformed” Washington — which would undoubtedly come as a surprise to the Washington lobbyists who are running his campaign and the special interests who have been funding it.
The most “maverick” thing about these two politicians right now is that they continue to support George Bush’s disastrous policies long after we have all seen the damage they are doing to our country.
Barack Obama and Joe Biden are ready to bring the change we need to Washington. They’re on the campaign trail every day talking about it — just today, Barack laid out his plans to transform education.
But we can’t let these ridiculous claims from the McCain campaign stand.
Watch the ad and make a $25 donation now to help us set the record straight:

The Obama’s aren’t publicizing their religious faith as of late. Obama’s mentor, pastor and hero Jeremiah Wright and his friend Louis Farrakhan haven’t been mentioned. Farrakhan’s Nation Of Islam Muslim followers are working 24-7 to elect Barack Obama as I write this. Obama has been endorsed by Fidel Castro, Jeremiah Wright , Louis Farrakhan, Rashid Khalidi (he brought Iran’s Ahmadinejad to speak at Columbia U., The Black Panthers,Hugo Chavez, Danial Ortego, Nadhmi Auchi, Ahmad Yousuf (Hamas),Raila Odingo who is Obama’s murderous Kenyan cousin, Abongo Obama, who is Obama’s Islamic militant Kenyan brother, terrorist William Ayres and many other like minded people. Ever wonder why these Marxist/Islamic/terrorists like Barack Obama. The Obama’s are followers of the “Black Liberation Theology” which teaches it’s followers to reject God if God’s word does not agree with the BLT racist, Marxist ideology. Obama’s long time pastor, mentor and hero Jeremiah Wright is into the BLT big time and you can see it in his speeches of hate toward America and also toward the Jews. If you want to know more about Black Liberation Theology, watch this site’s video on Black Liberation Theology and the Obama’s connection to it. Beholding yesterday’s deranged psychotic anal anally unfunny rabid hissy fit provided a wonderful millisecond of entertainment for yours truly.
I even allowed my self to SNIGGER AND SNIGGER AND SNIGGER AND SNIGGER AND SNIGGER and then SNIGGER AGAIN. Indeed sniggering was the ONLY righteous and appropriate response to a hopelessly lobotomised far left nutter who is obsessed with yours truly to the point it keeps on puking up LIES about the football team I support.
ONLY a genuinely brain dead patronising ignoramus abortion bucket escapee would puke up some bollux about one’s “favourite” football team. NO ONE in England EVER says Leicester or Mansfield or Newcastle or Brighton or Wolverhampton or Manchester etc says so and so is my “favourite” football team. Its a puerile childish, utterly moronic term that not even the detested prawn sandwich crowd use. In England we have supporters clubs - regional ones, London based ones and of course local to the clubs’ catchment area supporters clubs.
The Coca Cola league is where LCFC play. Until last season there were NINE clubs who had NEVER been out of the top two divisions - Leicester for well over a hundred years being one of the nine. I think (not 100% sure) that Arse-nal are the ONLY club never relegated from the top flight. As a result of the evil Peter Tw@alor years and the ensuing administration and wasting of at least $90 million dollars by incompetent managers appointed by equally incompetent club chairmen the top 10 Premiership finishes and two cup wins under MON swiftly became just fond memories. And then there were only eight clubs with top two division status as City got relegated having had FIVE managers in just over a year under the mad senile narcissistic Serb who bought the club.
Now, under potentially the best manager since MON we’ve got the best defence in the UK having let in just one league goal all season and look like getting promoted at the first attempt - but its too early to say for sure. Loads of ‘big’ clubs have ended up where we are now - some have even floundered down in Div 4. Like Wolves and Fulham did. But Man City, Leeds, Sheff Wed, F**t, Bristol City, Sjoke City, Coventry et al have all been in at least Div 3.
I recognise that abject PIG IGNORANCE of a subject NEVER stops a liberal puke from puking up lies. At least now its been informed of the actual facts. And just so the anal anally funny stalKKKer knows, most City fans are kind a pleased this season. They get to go to football grounds they’ve never seen City play at, they get to legally stand up and watch games as most football grounds in the lower leagues are not legally all seater grounds. And they get - so far - to watch a winning, undefeated team with much (but not quite all) of the worthless journeyman deadwood from the last few years gone.
The premier league has gotten to the point its (essentially) utterly pointless being in it as ONLY one of maybe THREE teams has a realistic chance of winning it. Because of the hundreds of millions of pounds now needed to buy a big premier league club and import world class players to win the league. Watching lower league football is cheaper, usually more relaxing and occasionally U get to see ur team beat a big side in the cup. As City did with Aston Vile (and came within a few seconds of beating Chelsea away) last season.
Anyway back to the politics of failing uppity half-black black racist muslim surrender monkeys in my next post.

“LIPSTICK ON A PIG!”
What a trojan horse….
McCain “The myth of a Maverick a real STORY!
In the 16 years that we have served together in the Senate, I have seen John McCain fight.
I have seen him fight against raising the federal minimum wage 14 times.
I have seen him fight against making sure that women earn equal pay for equal work.
I have seen him fight against a women’s right to choose so consistently that he received a zero percent vote rating from pro-choice organizations.
I have seen him fight against helping families gain access to birth control.
I have seen him fight against Social Security, even going so far as to call its current funding system “an absolute disgrace.”
And I saw him fight against the new GI Bill of Rights until it became politically untenable for him to do so.
John McCain voted with President Bush 95 percent of the time in 2007 and 100 percent of the time in 2008 — that’s no maverick.
We do have two real fighters for change in this election — their names are Barack Obama and Joe Biden.
McCain can’t run on his record and claim to be any friend of veterans, equal rights or of those earning less than his $5 million threshold for being rich - not at the same time. That’s partly why his campaign wants to make this election about personas rather than issues.

OBAMA HITS BACK
FROM DAILY KOS
“Obama came out and called the McPalin’s latest outcry for what it is a “made up controversy” and “foolish diversions”. He points out they are not talking about the future but following the same script they follow every four years. He mentions all the problems we ARE facing as a nation such as the energy crisis, broken educational system, two wars, shoddy care for Veterans, etc. and closes the statement with “and they want to talk about this”…He goes on to say “It’s not the Democrats or Republicans that will lose because of this, its YOU, the people that lose.” He asks if we need another year or another four or eight years without talking about the issues.
He ratchets it up a notch with
“I love this Country too much to let them take over with lies, misdirection, and swift boating. These are serious times and they call for serious debate”.
He then proceeds to hammer home that McCain supports all of Bush’s most egregious policies like infrastructure problems and the Iraq war.
He says
“McCain supports these policies, he believes them. There’s not a dimes difference between them”
He closes that segment with this gem:
“Spare me the phony outrage, phony talk about change, we have real problems, we need real answers; not distractions, diversions and manipulations.”
So you see, they get no apology, no backing down and no capitulation. They get smacked down and made to look completely foolish and petty, just as predicted. This man will not be swiftboated, this should be painfully apparent to EVERYONE by now. He reels them in and wallops them with their own foolishness.

I keep reading on comments sections such as this one, liberals making statements about the “disaster of the past 8 years”. What disaster?
GWB inherited a recession from WJC, and managed to turn it around by about 2002. We had a pretty good economic run until ‘07. How is that 8 years?
The other issue Liberals like to harp on in the Iraq war. If you will recall, there was bi-partisan support for going in to remove Saddam from power at the time. And we’ll never know what kind of world we would be looking at now if we had not done so. True enough, the Bushies were not prepared at all for the anarchy that ensued after Saddam was deposed, and that surely extended the war, but how has that made your personal life a disaster? I suppose for someone who lost a love one in the war the answer would be yes, but for the rest of you…?
Tell me where and when in this world has any society lived as well as the average American does today?
And don’t give me that Clinton years stuff. Everyone is nostalgic about those years, but don’t seem to remember that radical Islam was at war with us. Remember the USS Cole, 2 embassies bombed in Africa, and the earlier attempts on the World Trade Center? Slick Willy was in denial. And the economy? The tech bubble made for a good short term economic run, but it had nothing to do with who was president.
I know there are poor people in America. That’s nothing new. Such a class has always existed, and is hardly GWB’s fault. I also know we are in an economic downturn, and folks are struggling. I am too, but I don’t believe that it is 100% the president’s fault.
For being in an economic downturn, there still seems to be a lot of disposable income out there. the Eagles recently sold out 4 shows in Atlanta. Jack Johnson sold out Lakewood. Ever watch sports in TV? It doesn’t matter where in America, or what sport, While every event may not be a sellout, but there is always a good crowd of fans at football, basketball, golf, tennis, NASCAR, or whatever. It seems like almost everyone has a cell phone - an ongoing cost, as well as internet. And I see a lot of cars out there newer than the 12 year old one I drive. Phil Graham is right. We are a nation of whiners!
So, when you say life in America has become a disaster, compared to what?

So is Obama giving up on the change thing. Seems he is playing the same political game that has been played forever. Insult, find dirt, mishape words. Now I agree that repubs. are much worse at this but if you make a statment stick with it. He said he was not going to engage in smear tactics. That was way back when the primaries first started. I guess the game changes when the polls show you trailing. If he is willing to comprimise HIS MORALS, to win an election what makes you think people think he will not change them once in office.
Guess all of this is a non-factor since he values the voters of GA so much he is pulling almost all of his people out of our state. Guess it is not about change with him. That was only his platform to get elected.

Dear Southern @ 10:01, I respectfully disagree in part. I believe the Constitution confers no rights to nonresidents outside the physical borders of the United States. I do not necessarily believe all enemy combatants are covered by either of two documents (Geneval Protocols or US Constitution) – rather I think both may apply under some circumstances and neither in others.
I agree that the right of habeas corpus has not been suspended; I simply believe that right does not extend to people outside the scope of the Constitution. I note that a majority of the Supreme Court – notably excluding the conservative wing - disagrees with my perspective, and further ruled that the agreement between Congress and the Executive Branch, to try such combatants in military tribunals, thereby offends the Constitution. Such an interpretation of the Constitution conflicts with the traditional view of enemy combatants captured on battlefields. I note that war zones are a more difficult venue for recordation of “probable cause” and that the Constitution thus – until recently – appreciated that enemy combatants were not subject to the protections of the courts. The mischief wrought by the Supreme Court will ensure deaths of many innocents, for the sake of the protection of the enemies of the United States.
As to “harsh questioning,” the US never applies such for fun or as a punitive application, but rather prospectively, exclusively, to protect the innocent. Roe v Wade notwithstanding, the US has a long history of protecting the innocent from the malicious. Torture of those who tortured aviator McCain would have no prospective value. The jbmlaw interpretation of “triumph” over the evildoers means every evildoer is dead, or has given up the malice, such that they present no threat to the innocent. The US court system is incapable of same, or even a meaningful contribution to same; that is a job for the big boys, the US Military. I respectfully argue that employing attorneys to conduct wars is an inefficient misapplication of talent.

PALIN: “In fact, I told Congress — I told Congress, ‘Thanks, but no thanks,’ on that bridge to nowhere.”
REALITY: PALIN WAS FOR THE BRIDGE TO NOWHERE BEFORE SHE WAS AGAINST IT.
October 2006” Palin Supported Bridge To Nowhere. In 2006, Palin was asked, “Would you continue state funding for the proposed Knik Arm and Gravina Island bridges?” She responded, “Yes. I would like to see Alaska’s infrastructure projects built sooner rather than later. The window is now—while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist.” [Anchorage, 10/22/06, republished 08/29/08] 2006: Palin: Don’t Allow “Spinmeisters” To Turn Bridge To Nowhere Project “Into Something That’s So Negative.” “Part of my agenda is making sure that Southeast is heard. That your projects are important. That we go to bat for Southeast when we’re up against federal influences that aren’t in the best interest of Southeast.’ She cited the widespread negative attention focused on the Gravina Island crossing project. ‘We need to come to the defense of Southeast Alaska when proposals are on the table like the bridge and not allow the spinmeisters to turn this project or any other into something that’s so negative,’ Palin said.” [Ketchikan Daily News, 10/2/06] REALITY: PALIN ONLY ANNOUNCED OPPOSITION TO ONE “BRIDGE TO NOWHERE,” STILL SUPPORTS THE OTHER ONE
Palin Refused to Fund Ketchikan Bridge, But Did Not Stop Funding for Knik Arm Bridge.”Among the earmarks: $449 million for what critics have ridiculed as two ‘bridges to nowhere’ — one in Ketchikan and one across Knik Arm in Anchorage formally named Don Young’s Way. Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, also a Republican, last month refused to use any more money for the Ketchikan project, redirecting it for other purposes.” [Anchorage Daily News,11/11/07] As Recently as June, State Asking for Cost Estimate Proposals for Knik Arm. “An independent party will be called in to look at one of the most elusive aspects of a proposed bridge linking Anchorage and Mat-Su: the price tag. Gordon Keith, regional director for the state Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, said his office will be putting the job of estimating the cost of the controversial project out for bids in coming weeks. He said the task of coming up with a price could cost up to $200,000 and take up to 3½ months. ‘The issue keeps swirling around, so we thought it best to go ahead and do an independent estimate,’ he said. The cost to get the estimate is going to be high ‘if you want to do it correctly,’ he said. The cost of a span reaching across Knik Arm from Anchorage to Point MacKenzie has ranged over the years from $450 million to $1 billion, depending on what kind of bridge is envisioned and what starting date is plugged into the formula… Randy Ruaro, a special assistant to Gov. Sarah Palin, said the administration, even in the face of the recent lengthy report from the bridge authority, was having trouble getting an accurate picture of everything that is involved in the project, of the timing of the phases, and of the costs. He said the independent estimate is expected to answer those questions. Mary Ann Pease, spokeswoman for the authority, said she welcomes the effort to get updated costs.” [Anchorage Daily News, 6/22/08

Jim Wooten scares real Republicans.
As someone who is open-minded to the truth, I am frustrated with Jim’s “lack of knowledge” or “refusal to share the truth.” I know many of these blogs are written to stir up debate over little things, but the lack of journalism is annoying. That goes for several AJC writers of both parties. If you’ve never heard of the expression, “you can’t put lipstick on a pig,” please do a little research. It’s older than any of us on this blog.
And, can we please stop with racist comments? I don’t know why America is so scared to vote for an intelligent, Black man as President, when you voted for Bush twice. How dumb do you have to be to believe that Barack is a muslim? I’ve often said voters can’t be tricked by smears, but the AJC blogs confirm that they can. John McCain is running on the same platform as George Bush, and we see the miserable results of 8 years so far.
Even as a Republican, I can’t get the truth from Jim Wooten. Go figure!

one thing that has me worried if BHO gets elected is his stance that we are incompetent to raise our children. From his website (http://www.barackobama.com/issues/education/)
Early Childhood Education
* Zero to Five Plan: Obama's comprehensive "Zero to Five" plan will provide critical support to young children and their parents. Unlike other early childhood education plans, Obama's plan places key emphasis at early care and education for infants, which is essential for children to be ready to enter kindergarten. Obama will create Early Learning Challenge Grants to promote state "zero to five" efforts and help states move toward voluntary, universal pre-school. * Expand Early Head Start and Head Start: Obama will quadruple Early Head Start, increase Head Start funding and improve quality for both. * Affordable, High-Quality Child Care: Obama will also provide affordable and high-quality child care to ease the burden on working families.I would assume he does not think parents are needed anymore - have a kid and then get back to that low paying job he created for you. Ship the kids off and do not worry abut them. BTW, who will pay for this??

NORFOLK, Va. - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Wednesday accused Republican John McCain’s campaign of using “lies and phony outrage and Swift-boat politics” in claiming he used a sexist comment against vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
Calling it “the latest made-up controversy by the John McCain campaign,” Obama responded to the Republicans’ charge that he was referring to Palin when he used the phrase “lipstick on a pig” at a campaign stop Tuesday.
“I don’t care what they say about me. But I love this country too much to let them take over another election with lies and phony outrage and Swift-boat politics. Enough is enough,” he said.
Obama’s reference was to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, an outside group that in 2004 made unsubstantiated allegations about Democratic nominee John Kerry’s decorated military record in Vietnam.
On Tuesday, Obama criticized McCain’s economic policies as similar to those of President Bush, saying: “You can put lipstick on a pig … it’s still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It’s still going to stink after eight years.”
The McCain campaign contended that the comments were directed at Palin, the GOP’s first woman on a presidential ticket. In her acceptance speech last week, she had referred to herself in a joke about lipstick being the only difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull.
Accusing Obama of “smearing” Palin in “offensive and disgraceful” comments, the McCain campaign demanded an apology — though McCain himself used the folksy metaphor a few times last year, including once to describe Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s health care plan.
The McCain campaign on Wednesday issued an Internet ad that said Obama was talking about Palin and said of Obama: “Ready to lead? No. Ready to smear? Yes.”
Obama began a discussion of education at a Norfolk high school on Wednesday by assailing McCain’s campaign.
“What their campaign has done this morning is the same game that has made people sick and tired of politics in this country. They seize on an innocent remark, try to take it out of context, throw up an outrageous ad because they know that it’s catnip for the news media,” Obama said.

There is another part of his Education Position that has me troubled.
He wants to create a new “right” or entitlement.
Higher Education
* Create the American Opportunity Tax Credit: Obama will make college affordable for all Americans by creating a new American Opportunity Tax Credit. This universal and fully refundable credit will ensure that the first $4,000 of a college education is completely free for most Americans, and will cover two-thirds the cost of tuition at the average public college or university and make community college tuition completely free for most students. Obama will also ensure that the tax credit is available to families at the time of enrollment by using prior year's tax data to deliver the credit when tuition is due. There is already a plan in place, and has been very successful for many years. It covers the majority of all college costs. It is quite simple, I even took advantage of it and my son will too - we enlisted. Enlist in the military for 4 years - give or take a year or two - and the education savings account will provide funds for college. Sometimes the military will pay you to go to college while you are serving.
When I was discharged in 1971, I had ten years of benefits under the older GI bill.
Seems Obama wants to grant something similar to those that would rather sit on their butts and not serve their country. I guess sweat equity doesn’t count with him.

This just in:
John McCain camp furious at Sarash Palin for comparing Sarah Palin to a dog. In a plainly sexist remark, Palin referred to Palin as a “pitbull,” suggesting that the only difference between her and the vicious breed of animal is “lipstick.”
In a new campaign ad, McCain slams Palin for the remark, and mocks her “celebrity status” and “elitist” attitude.
Asked for comment, McCain aides stated “Palin should be ashamed of Palin. This is worse than when John McCain suggested that Hillary Clinton’s healthcare proposal was akin to putting lipstick on pig.”
In a familar refrain for the McCain - Palin campaign, the aides further stated that “this type of smear politics being leveled by McCain and Palin is exactly why we need to elect John McCain and Sarah Palin to shake up Washington and clean up the mess left by politicians like John McCain and Sarah Palin.”

Jbmlaw @ 11:17,
I agree with virtually your entire post and I am absolutely fine with a military commander detaining ANYONE threatening U.S. forces for the duration of hostilities. I am not okay with an executive agency, presumably exercising a police power, acting on foreign soil and detaining persons without any sort of process.
Also, point of clarification, my point with the Vietnam example was to your point, we did not torture any captured Vietnamese prisoners because there was no gain (intelligence or otherwise) and is contrary to the American norms and values.
The cost of the Gonzales-Rumsfeld-Cheney policies to the American psyche and our soft power is truly incalculable.
Similarly, I agree that all enemies of the U.S. who seek to kill soldiers or citizens are at war and may be killed by our military; if they surrender or are captured, however, they are entitled to basic human rights memorialized in various treaties.

It seems to me the leftists are making a serious strategic error with the ad hominem attacks on Sarah. A smarter strategy would be to allow expectations to build to an unreal level, one Sarah cannot sustain. The low-level attacks make it easy for Sarah to out perform expectations, effectively lowering the bar for her.

THE Captain is certain that Obama the Terrorist Bomb Thrower was trying to insult the Godly and Virtuous Sarah Plain with his lipstick pig remark. Further, it was an intentional and vicious insult directed at ALL V@gina-Americans. To think otherwise is to deny Common Sense.
THE Captain is also certain that when Rep Westmoreland, a man who has lived his entire life in the South, had no idea that “uppity” is a word that is typically reserved to describe Those People. To suggest that he did is to deny Common Sense.
And certainly it is crazy to doubt the word of Sean Hannit!ttybaby when he declaims that nobody on Fox News (or even our own Mr Wooten) has ever called Hussein Obama a Muslim. Perish the thought.
And a huge Captain Kudo to Sister Dusty for reminding us to read great literature like My Pet Goat. It is especially relevant as we prepare to remember the tragic events of 9/11. This epic tale is Our Leader’s favorite novel, and he has been known to get so wrapped up in the story that he ignores everything going on around him. And certainly, THE Captain intends no disrespect when He makes this statement.

First and foremost I’m a minority posting since I support McCain/Palin.
I do not think the “lipstick on a pig” remark was meant to be sexist or directed at Palin no more than the “uppity” comment was meant to be racist. But the fact is we have 2 very sensitive groups in this election and the media is going to do everything they can to stir the controversy. I mean let’s get real, the media made Bill Clinton look racist because her thought Obama was living a “fantasy” if he thought he could beat Hillary. Bill Clinton a racist? Just a few years ago he was proclaimed as the first “black” president and now he is racist because the “media” said he was.
We live in a country that we still have free speech and the media has the right to write about what they want. But we have a right away and ignore the crap and only listen to the actual facts.

Obama hasn’t really lost his faithful, but Palin is bringing crowds and money to the McCain in the same fashion as Obama does. Don’t get me wrong I like Palin and the more I hear her the more I like. The entire “Lipstick on a pig” comment is not news. Sarah Palin called herself much worse when she called herself a “pit bull with Lipstick.”
Remember, “Saturday Night Live” was riled when they called Hillary Clinton a female dog. Now it’s the cornerstone of the Republican VP nominee acceptance speech.

Dear Leicester @ 1:10, Taranto offers an argument I think worthy, similar to mine:
We’ve long argued (most comprehensively in this 2005 article) that liberal media bias often harms liberal politicians by reinforcing their own prejudices, thereby shielding them from political reality and compounding their strategic mistakes. Nedra Pickler of the Associated Press, who obviously sympathizes with Barack Obama, provides a wonderful example. She justifies Obama’s attacks on Sarah Palin in this way:
With Palin out on the campaign trail every day blasting Obama, it became increasingly clear he had to respond and try to undermine her credibility. He was careful with his approach, declining in an interview on MSNBC’s “Countdown” on Monday to respond directly to a question about whether she’s too inexperienced to be next in line to the presidency.
As a thought experiment, let’s recast that first sentence with the parties reversed:
With Biden out on the campaign trail every day blasting McCain, it became increasingly clear McCain had to respond and try to undermine Biden’s credibility.
No one could write this with a straight face. It would be obvious that McCain was aiming for the wrong target, diminishing himself and elevating Biden. What Pickler wrote is obviously what those in the Obama campaign believe—and now that she has reported it as if it were a fact, it will only become harder to disabuse them of the idea.

BTW dickweed, proper English would be “if you ever passed an A level or two(?)”. A levels are NOT a specific academic level dogturdface - but individual exams in specific subjects. Like History, Eng Lit, Geography, Maths, Physics, Economics etc Sadly they have been dumbed down by the Nu Labour fascists, but not as severely dumbed down as the joke that is the High Skool exam so blacks and mexican types stand some kind of chance of passing. After all up in yanKKKee black Detroit the pass rate is but 16%. Must be racism by the black teachers, black schools, black judges, CONVICTED, just removed corrupt thuggish BLACK RACIST MAYOR, black police, black social services etc.
A levels, which are usually two year courses at skool or 6th form college level in my day were essentially pitched at first year degree level. Our degrees are THREE years - the porridge gobblers in Scotland have 4 year degrees b/cos Scottish Highers (their ‘A’ level equivalent are only one year courses).
A while back I saw on live TV a very nasty black bigot from the vile hate group the naacp actually SERIOUSLY asserting that it was “racist” for black kids in FL to ONLY be allowed about SIX attempts to pass the high skool exam.
In England its JUST ONE ATTEMPT - then u RESIT the subjects U failed at the next exam cycle.
BTW - wot U do here at age 18 (12th grade) we do in the UK at age 16 … getting it now????
NOW CHOKE ON THIS BUBBATURD!!!

If I were Obama’s campaign manager, I would have him deliver that “lipstick on a pig” line over and over and over again. Anybody with a functioning brain cell can figure out that the man was talking about McCain / Palin policies and not about Palin personally.
Let’s stay focused on the issues please, such as, the fact that the U.S. GDP % Yearly Growth Rate has gone from 3.7% in 2000 to 2.9% as of 2006, while inflation has gone from 2.2% to 3.2% over the same time frame (I’ll post 2007 figures as soon as I find them).
How about the fact that someone in Congress or at the White House should have heeded the many warnings of giving away mortgage loans willy-nilly before, once again, we have to bailout some large corporation before they’re forced to face the music that they helped write.
The examples cited above are just two of the many pigs that the present Administration, as well as Congress, are trying to “pretty up” with lipstick. But when it comes to how these situations effect US, the American People, they still look and smell like PIGS.
It’s insane is to continue to do the same thing and expect a different result. McCain / Palin wants us to continue the status quo by electing them to office.
We just can’t afford that.

Even Newt Gingrich said that the lipstick on a pig comment is a stupid thing for the press and the McCain campaign to concentrate on. Sarah Palin is being sequestered now by the RNC because of media overload and they are afraid that she might peak too soon. I will wager that in about 3 weeks the American people will be so completely over her annoying voice and corny punchlines that even John McChange won’t be seen in public with her.

In the spirit of your pathetic “question” here’s a more obvious one U need to immediately answer:
How many times have U been arrested in San Fran Sicko/Atlanta bathhouses for domestic violence against ur much older butch homosexual partner???
“how much did you enjoy” …. christ ur English is even clumsier than the average hippety hop ebonics spoutin’ moron!!!
Several EU countries and clubs have been fined recently for racial abuse of black players playing for England and their English clubs in away games on the continent. Happily for quite some time there has been remarkably little use of black players in English grounds. Even Everton have stopped chanting “Everton are white” which they did back in the early 70’s.
U had no points wankface … all u did was puke up earlier threats using ur sick homosexuality and then show ur utter utter ignorance of England and our noble “global” language.
As for detroit, it simply and perfectly (as a current example) gives the lie that disproportionate pathetic black student performance is because of racism/whitey!!! andUNDENIABLY illegal mexican types leeching off US taxpayers have dumbed down the skool kurrikulum and testing especially in border states b/cos they REFUSE to learn English properly!!!

I can’t wait to see McCain win the elect (as he will) and watch all the blacks/Democrats (worst losers ever) call for a recount then push the race card (like usual) then destroy this city more than they already have (Buckhead for one) with fires and protest. It’s going to be great! If Obama was a white guy the blacks wouldn’t even care about this election. Sad! I don’t know why Obama keeps saying change when he picks Biden, who has been doing the same things since 1973. 35 years of the same BS in the Senate. That’s real change Obama supporters. You are all communists! You don’t want to drill for oil, more taxes, and universal healthcare (awful decision). Obama is the least qualifed candidate in over 100 years, but that doesn’t faze the democrats. They want change and Obama will bring change several times a day when he has to redo a speech from earlier in the day that he messed up and then realize that what he said was wrong and not the right direction for the country. That’s why McCain who has all the experience is best qualified to be President and that’s why he will be elected, he won’t make the mistakes that Obama will. Obama’s wife needs some lipstick, she is one ugly nappy head hoe. She would be the ugliest first lady ever! Thank goodness Obama isn’t going to win. Embarrassing! Why is she hands off to talk about when she can say anything she wants about Obama. If Obama says McCain’s positions are “old” news reported by Bush for the last eight years is he going to be criticized for making an inference to McCain’s age…If you guys win again and we continue down this sorry path further will you then say we need to change leaders again…to another Republican, again.
In his initial comments Tuesday, Obama was delivering a dissertation about McCain and President Bush when he used the lipstick aphorism — not Palin. In fact, his reference to the Alaska governor later on was a defense of her strong belief in religion.
The lipstick maxim is hardly new to either Obama or McCain. The Democrat has used it in the past, and McCain repeated the folksy metaphor when he criticized Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on health care. McCain was never accused of being sexist when he uttered those words.
On Tuesday, Obama criticized McCain’s policies as similar to those of President Bush, saying: “You can put lipstick on a pig. It’s still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It’s still going to stink after eight years.”
The McCain campaign immediately jumped on the comments, arguing they were directed at Palin, the GOP’s first woman on a presidential ticket. In her acceptance speech last week, she had referred to herself in a joke about lipstick being the only difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull.
Accusing Obama of “smearing” Palin in “offensive and disgraceful” comments, the McCain campaign demanded an apology. The McCain campaign on Wednesday issued an Internet ad that said Obama was talking about Palin and said of Obama: “Ready to lead? No. Ready to smear? Yes.”
Obama’s campaign has accused the GOP camp of engaging in a “pathetic attempt to play the gender card.” The campaign noted two other instances of McCain using the phrase “lipstick on a pig” and its use by other Republicans such as House Minority Leader John Boehner and Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl.
With the fight dominating television news shows Wednesday morning, Obama responded before beginning a discussion of education at a Norfolk high school.
“What their campaign has done this morning is the same game that has made people sick and tired of politics in this country. They seize on an innocent remark, try to take it out of context, throw up an outrageous ad because they know that it’s catnip for the news media,” Obama said.
Later in the appearance, a supporter asked Obama how he was going to avoid Kerry’s fate of allowing lies to undermine his campaign. Obama responded that every day he will hammer away at the issues that matter in Americans’ lives and make the argument that McCain offers the same policies as Bush.
“This whole thing about lipstick, nobody actually believes that these folks are offended,” he said. “Oh, we’re shocked. Everybody knows it’s cynical, everybody knows it’s insincere.”
McCain campaign spokesman Brian Rogers responded, saying: “Barack Obama can’t campaign with schoolyard insults and then try to claim outrage at the tone of the campaign. His talk of new politics is as empty as his campaign trail promises.”
McCain released a new TV ad Wednesday that suggests an Obama link to what the Web site FactCheck.org called “completely false … misleading” attacks while failing to note that the source of the attacks were, according to the Web site, “Internet postings and mass e-mail messages,” not the Obama campaign.

I’ll ask again.. because everything you just stated is ABSURD. I will give you some help, from Webster’s:
*Racist 1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.
2 : racial prejudice or discrimination*
You see, racism is what you see and on these boards day in and day out. I’ll ask again..
You state that he is married to a “known racist”..known by who???? In the same sentence you stated that a so-called racist paper is “inaccessible”, so how in the h3ll do you know what’s in it??? Because Sean Hannity said so??
And being as how I am from Chicago’s South Side myself I will tell you that Michelle had nothing to do with them joining TUCC. Barack learned about that church through work he was doing and outreach programs that the Church was heading up, like AIDS education/resourcing.
People like you would love to believe that this church is just a big organization plotting to “kill whitey”. Puhleease man, this church is no different on a Sunday than any other church (Black, White or otherwise), where preachers say off the wall stuff in the course of their “performance” for the masses; and yes social and political commentary. How many clips are there out there of Pat Robinson, Jerry Falwell, etc, etc. doing the same? Youtube is only a click away.
It’s okay though you need a justification for not supporting Obama..this allows you to still be able to look at yourself in the mirror with a so-called “clear conscience”. You can fool everyone but yourself though..and God.

HOW ARE YOU RAISING YOUR KIDS??????
Adam LaDuca, 21, the former executive director of the Pennsylvania Federation of College Republicans, wrote on his Facebook page in late July that Obama has “a pair of lips so large he could float half of Cuba to the shores of Miami (and probably would.)” LaDuca, who previously had called Martin Luther King Jr. a “pariah” and a “fraud,” also wrote: “And man, if sayin’ someone has large lips is a racial slur, then we’re ALL in trouble.” The College Republicans asked LaDuca to resign after his remarks were publicized by the Pennsylvania Progressive, a blog written by a Democratic committeeman from Berks County. The group announced LaDuca’s resignation on its Web site Friday. “The comments were completely uncalled for and very offensive,” said Anthony Pugliese, 22, a senior at West Chester University and chairman of the College Republicans, an umbrella group with more than 50 chapters statewide. “The P-A College Republicans do not accept or tolerate racism in any way.”
LaDuca said Monday that he regrets posting the comments and understands how they can be construed as racist. “In hindsight, when you read it a second time, it’s like, ‘oops,’” he said. “It was just a dumb move on my part to make a statement like that public.”IT’s STORIES LIKE THIS WHICH PAINTS A NEGATIVE PICTURE. THIS IS THE REASON PEOPLE BELIEVE THE REPUBLICANS ARE RACIST.
ASK TO RESIGN ONLY AFTER IT WAS MADE PUBLIC AND THIS IDIOT THINKS IT’S ONLY DUMB TO HAVE PUT IT ON FACEBOOK, NOT WHAT HIS WORDS REPRESENT.

The SnowWitch. Part Five.
The Black Knight sat at a meeting, surrounded by what was left of his inner circle, his campaign at a new low. He had regained his mandate only to lose it again to the SnowWitch and her short speeches, which she totally stole from him, yet, she seemed to make it her own. She was once again the clear front runner in the race to be chief of the pointy heads in the land of the pundits.
“Her and her confounded words and anagrams and acronyms….” the Black Knight moaned.
One of his advisers suggested they work on the next speech.
“No”, the Black Knight retorted, ” We have to deal with this SnowWitch. She uses only one word in her speeches, so, if we can get her to say the wrong word, then the pointy heads will be turned off, and I’ll be the chief.”
“And just how do you propose to get her to gaff?”, asked his campaign chairman.
“Okay, I have a plan. I want you to make miniature pointy headed delegates in bright colors to hand out as campaign souvenirs at the next SnowWitch Rally.”
“How miniature?”
“A quarter inch tall. Really cute small little pointy headed delagate miniature dolls. Then just pass them out at the Rally. And dont wear those stupid t-shirts anymore.
On the day of the rally, the SnowWitch once again appeared as if out of thin air. The Black Knight’s spies had handed out thousands of the miniature little pointy headed delegate souvenir dolls, and had boxes and boxes of them left, stacked up near the stage where the SnowWitch was about to speak.
To loud applause and vigorous cheers, the SnowWitch walked toward the podium. When she was nearly at the mic, several Black Knight spies threw dozens of the pointy headed souvenier dolls on the stage floor in front of the podium. The SnowWitch, who was always barefoot, stepped on these tiny dolls, and, taken completely by surprise, and totally in pain, yelled into the mic, “Tacks!”.
The SnowWitch quickly cupped her mouth with both hands as she realized her gaff.
“Tax? Tax?” the astonished crowd repeated. “She said Tax. She said Tax.”
Soon the entire assemblage was chanting, “No Tax, No Tax, No Tax”, and many of them turned to leave.
The SnowWitch tried to recover and say the word she came to say, but one of the Black Knight’s spies had pulled the plug on the amp and the SnowWitch could only retreat.
The Black Knight had regained his momentum, and nobody would ever consider voting for the SnowWitch again.
“Of course he realizes this means war….” the SnowWitch intoned.

And while we are talking about telling the truth, don’t you think that the American people would be turned off by the lies and embellishments of a the VP nominee particularly after the way the Rumsfeld, Cheney, Bush machine scammed the American public on the Iraqi WMDs and the case for war in Iraq?

She’s playing the SEXISM CARD. When Mike Norman inferred that Obama was a monkey, his bar enjoyed the most business it had ever done. Obama just broke a long held taboo, thou shalt not make light of someone of the SUPERIOR RACE, especially one its flowers of virtue, and live to tell the story. He’ll also have to watch how he talks to McCain during a debate, because taboo # 2 states that an INFERIOR should know his place when addressing the slave master.

I guess the whole (sane) world now has pretty much figured out Obama and his staff’s thoughts about women, pretty much equating them with pork products. Little doubt there.
What I can’t figure out is how any woman with even a shred of dignity or sense of self worth could support this candidate. The far left libs I can figure…..they have no self respect. But there is a whole hell of a lot more middle of the road women, women who hear one the one hand Obama supports equal rights and equal pay for women. Then he backhandedly calls them pigs.
Go figure.
Any idiot watching the video could see that he was playing that angle of the ‘lipstick’ remark to his audience. The men can be seen right away just behind him standing almost immediately, laughing, clapping, shouting and oinking. If you don’t think he was playing those words off to get that reaction, then you are a complete and total idiot, and in total denial of reality.
Let’s flip the coin.
Let us pretend that McCain says something about Obama’s ambiguous plan to raise taxes, something like…”let’s call a spade a spade about the Senator’s tax plans…”
The uproar could be heard from here to China, which might be good because Obama wants to model our urban upgrade after what the Chinese did to prepare for the Olympics. Of course, he failed to mention that probably slave and prisoner labor was used for that, but I digress.
Media and Obama campaign headquarters would light the fires of racism about as fast as that nuclear accelerator in Europe. No question there.
So let’s quit playing the diversion game and see what they have to offer. Other than raising taxes, I don’t see much from the donkeys. They just keep braying about George W Bush, apparently thinking that he must be a candidate there somewhere. They talk about alternative energy, but outline nothing about how development and implementation will be paid for (they don’t want to talk about the extra taxes imposed), nor do they share with us what we the vehicle drivers will do for gas in the interim until those alternative energies come along.
The elephants want to lower taxes, lower govt spending, shoot a terrorist as opposed to reading him his rights or giving them the same rights as the very American citizens that they want to kill, and they want to develop our own energy supply by drilling for our current resources till alternative energies are developed.
It seems like a pretty simple choice for a voter who cares a whit about such menial things as the safety of his family, his and his family’s financial security, and being able to continue to do simple things like drive to the store, to Grandma’s house, to wherever.
The only choice is John McCain and Sarah Palin.

Buuby - I appreciate your comments and perspective, but I don’t necessarily agree and I definitely have a different perspective. I think your house must be an exception. There aren’t any men at the heads of many black families so those are automatically run by women and I think women wear the pants in a lot of black and white married households too, and I think Obama’s is one of them. Don’t forget she was also the main breadwinner for awhile. If you know some women that will make most of the money and let the man make most of the decisions, please send one my way! I think the common usage of the term has expanded well beyond “inherent belief in the superiority of a race” to mean discriminatory or derogatory actions of comments. Thus displaying the confederate flag is labeled as racist simply because it conjures up images of slavery from 200 years ago for some people. Michele’s thesis is available on politico.com. I didn’t find it overtly racist but I see where some people might have problems with her comments about separationism and a goal to utilize her resources to benefit the black community. I guess if McCain’s rich white wife came out and said she’s decided to utilize her resources to benefit the white community, it might be bad for his campaign. My perspective is I am against discrimination because it is inherently unequal treatment, and therefore, unfair, whether it’s called a poll test or affirmative action. And I suspect black liberation theology is discriminatory even without being so extreme as to advocate killing whitey.

Well Jim we are USED to REPUBLICAN lying once they get into office…….example “Faulty Intelligence”….
BUT hey Sarah Palin is taking Lying to a new Height….before getting into office………..
McCain, Palin rip earmarks as she seeks $197 million for Alaska.
FAIRFAX, Va. — Republican presidential nominee John McCain and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, equated lawmakers’ requests for funding for special projects with corruption on Wednesday even though Palin herself has requested nearly $200 million in so-called “earmarks” this year.
Palin has sought $197 million worth of earmarks for 2009, down about 25 percent from the $256 million she sought in the 2008 budget year. As mayor of tiny Wasilla, Alaska, she hired a lobbyist to seek federal money for special projects. Wasilla obtained 14 earmarks, totaling $27 million, between 2000-2003, according to Taxpayers for Common Sense.

I’m surprised that Obama would use such a hack phrase. His writers have done well till now, so in the campaign doldrums, it’s probably okay to get a few kinks out of their lexicon. The debates. The debates. The debates.
I still love McCain’s choice for VP. Justice will prevail with either candidate now. Woman suffrage and now a Woman’s Adminstration! Think of all the little girls praying at night that Sarah Palin makes it all the way to the white house.
Her platform? Sound enough. I dont expect to agree with her on every issue, but she’s dead reckoning on abortion.
Pork abuse? I’d be concerned only if she DIDN’T try to get Federal Funds for her state. This woman! America is in love with a stranger. She’s a beauty, Mr. Wooten, and I can feel your excitement. Let’s face it, we haven’t been this beguiled collectively since Jackie. How far can this elegant woman go? It’s great 2B an American.
Abortion is America’s sin. Fifty million souls have been lost, maybe a Mozart, or another Political Foreskin, who knows.
But more than that. The idea of that many mothers gone wild really bothers me, and if there is eternal consequences for interfering in the fundemental sanctity of live itself, then when the baby boomers die off, (and they’re dropping like flies thanx to drugs sex and rock and roll, they are going to witness the retribution of the ages from some unknown but all knowing power. Maybe those little lost souls will be waiting for us…..
The one bond I share with Mr. Wooten is our total lack of respect for Biden. Obama’s first act as president conformed to every warning the Right has given us: Obama has rash, inexperienced, and questionable judgement. The door to the presidency was through Hillary, a dream team, a cant miss, a lost opportunity. The recent olympics showed african american relay sprinters dropping the baton and losing an already-won race.
Ditto Obama. He dropped the baton, man. And there’s nothing in the rules that can change that. He’s disqualified now.
Palin 08: She’s tough, and I’ll bet she can even kill her own spiders.
Obama 08: the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Biden….fill in the blank here.
I’d vote for the Yellow SnowWitch B4 I’d vote for Biden.

Lipstick on a pig?
Calling a spade a spade?
What a hoot.
This is what passes for intellectual discourse in American politics today?
After Newt the Nut’s reign of nonsense in the 90s, things will never be same as regards common human decency and respect for others in Washington. Or most other places anymore.
Sad but true.
Speaking of intellectual dishonesty how about that goofball, flip-flopping Mitt’s assertion that the answer to all of our problems is to throw the libs out of Washington.
Poor ignorant Lurch. Someone best explain to him that the GOP has controlled the Congress 12 out of 13 years since 1994.
And that seven of the nine US Supreme Court Justices were appointed by Republicans.
And that Dumb and Dumber have been stinking up the West Wing for nearly eight years.

A man bought a lottery ticket and forgot about it. His wife found it and realized it was a big winner, and soon began adding small amounts of anti-freeze to his mixed drinks, of which he drank heavily every night like the no good wife beatin’ embezzling philandering tax cheater he truly was.
Within hours of his death, his body was cremated and a cheap $600 urn was taken to a poor cemetery where the mourning wife, dressed in black Choos caught the eye of an IRS agent who was visiting his recently deceased wife’s grave. He showed her his badge and asked her what she was doing in the low-rent cemetery with 4500 dollar shoes.
The woman realized that she could probably make it back to her Lamborghini if she kicked the agent in the nuts, ditched the shoes and ran for it.
the champagne that night was especially satisfying after the merry widow crossed the border into Mexico. She stayed at a Club Med in Porta Blanca for six months until she thought it was safe enough to return home, sell her house, and get to Amsterdam where she’s spend the rest of her life eating space cakes and gardening.
They were waiting for her. She was handcuffed, fingerprinted, and full cavity searched.
Fifty years later she got out of prison. They handed her back her belongings. It was a manilla envelope containing those confounded Jimmy Choos.
It just goes to show you that you cant kick an IRS agent in the nuts and not expect to get railroaded.

Now, the controversy for Obama gets worse: The South Carolina Democratic Party Chairwoman, Carol Fowler, said to Politico “Sarah Palin’s primary qualification for office is that she hasn’t had an abortion.” Carol Fowler is the wife of Don Fowler, the former Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, who was caught on video laughing about Hurricane Gustav hitting New Orleans during the RNC Convention.
I think the Obama Campaign has a lot more to worry about than Obama’s lack of wit. It has to worry about the REST of the Democratic Party.

Tha’s WORNG, Boo Hoo, I’m voting 4 Palin BECAUSE she’s a woman. She cant do any worse than any other fool we’ve put in the white house, but America must now use voter nullification and override Obama’s certain mandate and change their votes to McCain, just so a woman can get in the white house.
It’s the beginning of a new era, and we are witnessing it. A woman as Commander in Chief.
Just think of it, man. It’s like Star Trek, you know? The episode where the Klingon chick had the hots for kirk, but he couldn’t figure out her anatomy when the big moment came, and so he limped through the rest of the episode until the evil captain kirk, who had just happened to have been viewing klingon porn, saved the show… and the 400 officers, women and crew…..At the end of that episode, Scotty remarked that after viewing Klingon porn, Dilitium Crystals were no longer the hardest substance in the universe…..I think the crew of the Enterprise went commando for the remainder of that season, season two, if my memory serves me correct….
U know, maybe if you guys would watch a little more tv and do a little less blogging none of this would have happened, okay?

Boy, you guys will do anything to keep the focus from the real issues, like war economy, high gas prices, etc. Do some checking, McCain has said the same thing about Hillary Clinton’s health plan, other Republicans and politicians have used this phase for a long time. This is just a distraction to keep voters from thinking about the real issues. Create a controversy. Boy same old same old, just like Bush.

Have we left our backdoor open too long?
If you ask me of his blackness, it was not apparent in his speeches until the episode at the church, which was shown on television. I thought of Mr. Obama as a man trying to run for President of the United States, and trying to overcome his race, to think of the country as more of a whole than only a part of a unity. The church service was a revelation. The remarks made by his preacher, his spiritual adviser/mentor and best friend for years, were very ugly to say in the least. I expected Mr. Obama to hang with a better crowd. To think this is what he has been taught every Sunday, and to his family, is disturbing. If this were said in a church of my hometown, it would not have me there. This is not the Christian way. I know he denounced the remarks made by the minister. But it did not change his relationship with the man, the church, or the church policy. Today, I heard the minister has retired, and if I am correct in repeating, “He has preached his last sermon.” This was rather sudden, don’t you think? But what he did not say, was he would have nothing to do with a man who preaches hatred for whites from the pulpit. And there are always the questionable friends who have been popping up lately. But this time, it cannot be shaken off as easy as other times. Things look different and more questionable, in the light now. The church is not just a Church of Christ and the preacher speaks of hatred for whites as he dresses in his African/or Muslin dress. Did not Obama have the name Barry while he was in college? Why did he change it to Barack at the time he ran for President? I am not as trusting of this man as I once was. I know he can walk the stage and appear calm and confident. He is the quiet American running for President. But now, he is the one I most distrust. Maybe we all should beware of the quiet ones. Do you know, even if calls himself a Christian, people of the Muslim world will always think of him as a Muslim because his father is? It is of their faith. Are we Americans being fooled here? Have we left the back door open, too long and trusted the quiet American, the good looking, soft-spoken man, more than we should have? There always seem to be ties to people who were going to jail at the beginning. There was a headline of Obama and his Muslim faith and he has been said in the past to not salute the flag. Now, the statement of the ‘pig with the lipstick,’ makes it appear worse as it comes closer to the election. I use to be undecided; McCain is not the perfect choice. Now, I have to vote Republican. Too much has rattled in Obama’s closet.

We worry about someone’s comments about lipstick on a pig. Does Pailn have the word lipstick trademarked?
$500 billion spent on a war that was not needed (Iraq). Afghanistan is in trouble because of our diverted attention to Iraq. In trying to find Bin Laden, we look like Elmer Fudd trying to capture Bugs Bunny. Mortgage crisis, bail outs, high unemployment, inflation rising, high gas prices. We have more enemies now around the world than we had before Reagen ended the cold war.
Republicans had control of both the executive, legislative and judicial branches from 2000 -2006, and let immigration go unchecked, did nothing about an energy policy and have watched gas go from a $1 a gallon when they took office to over $4 a gallon.
FEMA organization that was run by appointed amateurs.
Do you want more of this garbage? Do you want another “I’m the decider” president? Do you want someone who says I agreed with all of this ( or at least 95% of it). If so, then continue to vote like you did in 2000 and 2004 and watch things get even worse.
Excuse me, but McCain needs to be talking issues, all he does is bash Obama with all of the Paris and Brittney garbage, saying Obama is going to raise taxes, however, please note, McCain has not promised that he won’t raise taxes. (Read his lips). McCain is just a Senator that has been in Washington for a long time, claiming he is going to clean up the mess he helped create. He has been feeding at the public trough long enough, he has to this point provided no vision of what he would do as President, no leadership ability(His VP has more leadership than he does), his speaking ability is not inspiring, no understanding of economics (he admits this). He is Bush incarnate.
I’m an independent white voter and will vote for Obama in this election, because I am disillusioned with the direction the party has taken since Reagan left office. I cannot handle 4 or 8 more years of this garbage.
