Is there no justice for Hillary?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
“Denver, Denver, Denver,” Hillary supporters chanted Tuesday night, urging her to take the campaign on to the Democratic national convention. She should.
Today her supporters on the Right join the sisters in seeking justice for the 18 million Democrats — and the few Republicans who listened to Rush Limbaugh and crossed over to show their solidarity with the First Family of Democratic Politics. If we must give up Billary before Denver, leave us at least with the ray of hope that one day we’ll have Chelsea. This simply cannot be the end of the Clintons in presidential politics. What will we do for sport, those of us on the Right and the 18 million Democrats, give or take a few crossover Republicans, who loved her?
To steal the nomination from Hillary the far-left fringe of the Democratic Party turned to an out-of-touch liberal who offers a false promise of change, to paraphrase the wise, experienced and renown icon of somewhat conservative political leanings, U.S. Sen. John McCain of Arizona.
Of course on one point, McCain has Barack Obama pegged. “For all his fine words and all his promise, he has never taken the hard but right course of risking his own interests for yours; of standing against the partisan rancor on his side to stand up for our country,” said McCain Tuesday.
Obama, the fawning media’s adored candidate, as Bill Clinton and others who love Hillary see it, is alleged to have secured the Democratic nomination last night. Frankly, those of us on the Right knew it was over earlier in the day Tuesday when super-delegate Jimmy Carter embraced him. It just seemed fitting that former President Carter would put him over the top.
Change, as Obama expresses it, is a return to yesterday’s agendas, programs and foreign policies.
But this is not a day to talk of appeasement and failure and foolishness. It’s a day to celebrate the life and journey of Hillary Clinton and to condemn the bumper-sticker politics of diversion and division that brings the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate to the brink of victory. Drats. “Denver, Denver, Denver.”
Obama’s on a roll. Of sorts. They love him in small states that are inclined to vote Republican in November. With his win Tuesday in Montana, he’s won seven of the last 16 states to hold primaries. Our beloved Hillary won eight. Count the votes. Florida and Michigan, too.
Fact is, Obama doesn’t grow on people. They loved the flash and the empty slogans. But the more they come to know of him, the less he appeals.
The old guy is looking pretty good now. I really like his chances. The Democrats found themselves in a situation where they couldn’t deny Obama the nomination, lest a major constituency walked. So they’ve chosen the weaker candidate. Bring him on. And put her on the ticket, too.

Well, I guess it’s 8 o’clock someplace.
I don’t know what’s got into Wooten and picking what he’s going to write his piece about. On Monday he got folks so wound up they was ambalances going all over the place trying to tend to the sick and injured. Then on Tuesday it was like a mawsoleeum around here, with a cricket in the corner chirping after he followed the last widow in.
I reckon he’ll have em wound up again, saying that Clinton woman ought to keep on scratching at Osama. He just wants them to keep a-fightin’ so we don’t get half of one of Those People as president. Dang straight. Denver. Denver. Denver.
Well, have a good day everybody.

All one had to do was watch the speech McLame gave last night. Looking “pretty good” now Jim? WOW did that speech suck! Even FAUX news said so. Obama will tap dance all the way around McLame in every single debate.
I’ve NEVER seen you members of the GOP so defensive and so scared to death of a candidate before. Good reason to, you’re going to go down as the ones who ruined our country by voting for the Bubble Boy twice. Nobody wants four or eight more years of a geriatric Bubble Boy following up our country and it’s standing in the world by giving us more of the same.
This time the “fear” of gay marriage will not work, same with abortions. Your “talibangelical” poster boy (Bubby Boy) was your one shot at your demented “moral code” of ethics and gays are still having gay sex, and abortions are STILL being done to your teen daughters that are clueless due to their lack of sex education and the understanding of their own reproduction systems.
Bring on the ol’ bat…he’s toast…just like your party.

I just read the funniest story in the WashingAss Post (Truth: Cox owns both the ajc and wp). The great white hope of Cox was the Hyperlocal, and it is a Flop…The LoudounExtra.com was designed to be mostly written by the locals in Loudoun County just outside Washington DC…but in the first year of operations, it is a total failure, and the highly paid developers have moved on, leaving it in the hands of the WAPO’s equivalent of Woodenhead and Brookman….See, the plan was to take content from bloggers like us, and put some of it into the print for the local….Dusty could have covered the Right Wing Women for Fascist Government, while JMB could have covered Lawyers Stealing from Everyone…etc….Meanwhile, WaPo’s circulation has dropped some 19% since 2000….but locals still read it fer free online…could there be a connection? naw…the AJC is the poor cousin of the wapo, and a slow learner at that….TIME TO FIRE WOODENHEAD AND BROOKMAN, THE EXPERIMENT HAS FAILED….LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE AT AJC

Good morning Jim,It looks as if the leftist elite and the black population of the U.S. has pulled it off.Their darling will be in the running.I should also say the media’s darling. Now it’s up to the Republicans to defeat the guy.Let’s see if they can do it.I see our boy,Jimmy, jumped in at the last moment.I had more hope for him than that.

Well, good to see that other Redneck Convert is up and about.
It was just a axident that McCain spoke to maybe 300 people last night and Obama drawed in 31,000 that included 18,000 inside and 13,000 outside that stadium. McCain will catch up some day. Anyhow, I sure hope us godly Republicans ain’t in for a real butt-whomping. If all those Obama people show up on election day we will need some KY jelly for the next 8 yrs. I’m mighty worryed.
Anyhow, I’m with Wooten. If we can keep the Clinton woman in the race we can keep the librul Democrats from turning their guns on old man McCain. I didn’t watch Obama speak last night on account of turning my back on people I don’t want to hear on Fox News. But I couldn’t help hearing. And when Obama said McCain ought to come with him to some cities where times are hard, instead of going to Iraq, the roars sounded just like those news clips of Hitler speaking to thousands in Germany.
And the worst part is Barr is liable to take thousands of votes away from McCain. I saw the Montana and South Dakota primary results and it looks like about 20% of the Republicans wouldn’t vote for McCain and went for Ron Paul instead. I figure the same people will vote for Barr in November.
Times are hard for godly Republicans. There’s a new poll that says the voters are ready to elect librul Democrats to Congress the same way they done two years ago. And they might could take McCain down with them. Anyhow, I’m putting every penny I can in the cement vault I built so they can’t get to it when they raise taxes on us rednecks. And I’m getting all my doctoring done now. I’m with Sister Dusty. I don’t want to have to wait in a doctor office while a bunch of trash is getting doctored ahead of me under this librul health care plan.
We need to swiftboat this Obama. Course, the libruls will come back with that picture of McCain with his arms wrapped all around My President. What a dirty trick.
Have a good day everybody.

Jim, Carter was one of the Pelosi gang who long ago promised their vote to whomever was ahead on the last primary day. So his support was totally planned and not a surprise, if you follow things, that is. Obama is already leading McCain in the polls and this campaign is just getting started. If I were a conservative I would be worried because McCain is a terrible campaigner and a terrible debater. Now he is trying to sell himself as the “agent of change” which will be tough after all his snuggling with Bush. Also, McCain needs to back off criticizing Obama for never joining the military. Obama came of age in a time of peace so this is not a valid criticism, also McCain has excused Cheney and others from military service during the Vietnam war no less. He does not need to look any more two-faced than he already does.

Good morning all. I wish I had written Jim’s essay – excellent wit and gentle humor. On the horserace, I also think the edge is with Captain Queeg now. The hedgehogs are better presidents than are foxes, historically, so McCain’s good prospects bode comparatively well for the country.
I assume you all saw Dr. Sowell’s effective skewering of Hussein yesterday; turns out Father Pfleger is not a mere bystander: “…as a state senator Obama directed $225,000 of the Illinois taxpayers’ money for programs run by Father Pfleger. In the U.S. Senate, Obama earmarked $100,000 in federal tax money for Father Pfleger’s work. Giving someone more than 300 grand is not just some tenuous, coincidental association.” I had not previously heard the reporting on the earmarks. I guess bribes require reciprocation, even if the bribe is paid from stolen funds; nevertheless, Obama’s thievery is striking.
That is the real change Obama promises, from the honest and ethical Bush administration to the traditional corrupt actions of thieving leftists: diverting precious tax dollars into ideological boondoggles. (Note to conservative friends: I set that trap effectively – one of our brain-injured leftists will protest with the usual conspiratorial litanies about the Bush administration, then I will pounce and accuse the blogger of calling Hussein a liar when he promises “change.” The more things “change” the more they remain the same?) By the way, how is the carbon trading legislation going? Sure, that will help the price of gasoline, just like mandating ethanol from corn and prohibiting drilling in the ANWR desert. Why do leftists insist on imposing their “superior knowledge” onto the rest of us; surely they realize they are only screwing up our lives with their every action? If they would just do nothing, like during the Clinton administration….

No, we are not left with the two brightest and best candidates to choose from. However, we had best hope and pray that the American voters wake up and realize that this is not an election for Student Council President. The left is touting “change” but has told no one what those changes might be. Obama has THREE YEARS of experience, for goodness sake! I don’t care what color he is, but he needs to know his a$$ from a hole in the ground.
If I hear “4 more years of Bush” one more time I may throw up. The biggest concern of the right about McCain has been that he does NOT walk lockstep with the party. I don’t agree with all that he has done (McCain-Feingold is a disaster) but at least he thinks independently; isn’t that what we need?

Good morning, Jim,
I suspect that the American people are so sick of the incompetence of the Georgie Bush Administration that, were the election held today, they, albeit by a small majority, would embrace the pig-in-a-poke change offered by Barack Obama.
If, over the next few months, the economy continues to erode, gasoline prices rise to $5.00 per gallon or above, and if the Rump Congress continues to demonstrate its dastardly, poor ability to deal rationally with the situation, Michelle Obama will be supervising the changing of sheets on the White House beds come January 20, 2009.
If, on the other hand, the economy turns around, the energy mongols (both domestic and foreign) conspire to lower energy prices to the point that gasoline returns to somewhere in the neighborhood of $3.00 per gallon, or if there is another major terrorist attact on the homeland, John McCain’s vitamin tray will be on the night stand come January 20.
It is really a toss-up.

My, my, what an interesting (?) article and very interesting comments. As an Independent American who definitely does not want to be tied to either party, I am sickened to hear all your comments. Party Politics make me sick. The fact that the 3 persons still in the running are politicans scares me.
I care about my country and what has happened to it especially over the passed 20 years. I am proud to be an American but I am somewhat sickened by this country’s governmental policies.
I want a healthy America again. All I heard in the comments and article were crude ugly remarks. I am a 68 yrs. young female who voted for John F. Kennedy in my very first election. I didn’t care if he was Democrat or Republican, I just knew he could stand strong for our country. I would love to see a famale president as soon as a really good candidate with no ties to past government can be found.
Why can’t we be “America” again? Let’s quite being blue or red and begin to fight to take our country back one senator and congressman at a time.

Face it, Conservatism is not what the Republicans have practiced over the past 16 years. Deficit spending and no taxes for the wealthy is now what Goldwater practiced or envisioned. Devisive attacks are not compasionate, Goldwater was given several awards by Homosexual Activists for his voting record; which always included a pro civil rights pattern. Todays conservatives are hucksters, corrupt politicians and now the jig is up - $4 a gallon has put them out of power because the American people are smelling the coffee.
McCain is a breath of fresh air, the Arizona Republican is a true conservative like another Arizona Repulican, Barry Goldwater. As he said in his final interview on CBS; “A consrvative should be someone that knows how to save money and uphold the law. Todays Republican party is run by a bunch of kooks!”

This is my problem with Republicans and “the Right,” if there is a problem they pretend it doesn’t exist. The party is in shambles and seems predetined to lose? The Right says no way the “Darn Liberals” are too libral to win. The majority of American and the world hates Pres Bush? The Right says its just the “Evil Liberal Media” only reporting bad stuff and time will judge him to be a great liberator (a Republican friend of mine dared to compare him to LINCOLN of all people). The American economy is tanking? The Right says nah, if anything is wrong its those “Darn Liberals” somehow hijacked the government even though we were in charge – we simply have to put the power back into the hands of the selfish rich people and they will right everything themselves. Iraq is a mess? The Right says no that’s bull, we said “mission accomplished,” another surge of troops giving their lives for several more years will fix everything.

The most refreshing part of Obama’s speech last night was his insistence that the Iraqi government take responsibility for its security.
As of March of this year, the Iraqi army had 180,000 soldiers—105 battalions in 13 divisions—more troops than the US ever had in Iraq. In all, the Iraqi army has 52 brigades—all trained by US troops.
The typical US Marine is combat-ready after three months of basic training and a month of advanced infantry training required of every Marine. Army troops don’t differ that much in their preparedness regimen. No one can tell me that two years of training for Iraqi troops is inadequate—unless it can be demonstrated that they are hopelessly stupid.
Yet, when it’s time to clean out Fallujah, we send a regiment of Marines. And when the Iraqi government sends army troops to Basra to fight insurgents, they cut and run.
If the huge Iraqi army, plus the tens of thousands of police we trained for them, can’t defend the Malaki government, there’s something wrong with that government. It is evidently incapable of inspiring any loyalty.
I am sick of seeing us throw away so much blood and treasure in propping up a corrupt Shiite government that refuses to reach any political accommodation with Sunnis and Kurds. There is still no Iraqi legislation on a division of oil revenue and other matters crucial to ensuring peace in Iraq.
What we get in return for our sacrifice is the hugs and kisses of the Shiite government for officials of Iran. Obama is right. Either the Malaki government grows a pair and starts defending the country, or that government can fall.

I find it annoying when bloggers post articles, but today I’m doing it. This is from “American Banker” a periodical from the Banking Trade. The reason I’m sharing this is to dispute Jim’s accusations of empty campaign slogans. Whether you agree with him or not, Sen. Obama is a smart guy, as shown below:
Obama and Regulation, an Insider’s Perspective Foreclosure fund, bankruptcy reform among his proposals
American Banker | Wednesday, June 4, 2008
By Joe Adler
Bankers should have no illusion about the direction Sen. Barack Obama would take financial services policy if he were elected president.
The presumptive Democratic nominee backs a detailed list of programs aimed at protecting consumers and clamping down on lending practices, from an interest rate cap on high-cost loans to a foreclosure prevention fund paid for by lenders.
“There is no question but that a President Obama will be substantially more with consumers than President Bush has been, because in effect this administration did nothing to protect financial consumers during its time in office,” said Daniel Tarullo, an economic adviser to Sen. Obama.
A veteran of the Clinton White House and the State Department who now teaches at the Georgetown University Law Center, Prof. Tarullo said industry executives may be more receptive to Sen. Obama’s consumer-minded approach in light of the turmoil in the credit markets.
“If you’re sitting as a banker right now, you cannot be entirely happy with the end to which this unregulated environment has led,” Prof. Tarullo said in an interview May 23. “Banks and all financial institutions are suffering as a result. The harm has trickled up in this case. Sound consumer regulation can make for very good business and make for good, prudential practices.”
He characterized the senator as a quick study on financial services, citing his early support of efforts by Senate Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd and House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank to empower the Federal Housing Administration to help struggling homeowners.
Sen. Obama’s $10 billion foreclosure prevention fund, designed to help troubled borrowers sell their home or restructure an unaffordable loan, would be funded by penalties on lenders who commit fraud. He envisions new disclosures that would help borrowers compare mortgage products, and he would confront mortgage fraud by beefing up reporting, increasing funding for enforcement, and raising fines.
The Illinois Democrat would let bankruptcy judges modify mortgage terms, and he would encourage banks and credit unions to make short-term, small-dollar loans to provide underserved consumers with alternatives to payday lenders. His proposed 36% rate cap is directed at the payday industry.
Prof. Tarullo said financial institutions should not fear an Obama presidency, since the candidate would consider the trade-offs involved in any policy choice.
Bankers “may or may not agree with a position” taken by Sen. Obama, “but they can be assured that he will have an understanding of the costs and benefits of any particular approach,” the adviser said.
To illustrate the point, he cited a March 27 speech at New York’s Cooper Union in which Sen. Obama spoke at length about reforming the patchwork of financial regulation. The speech, delivered four days before the Treasury Department released its blueprint for reform, went further in some areas than the administration did.
For instance, Sen. Obama proposed giving the Federal Reserve Board clear supervisory authority over any institution that borrows from the central bank, extending its capital and liquidity rules to investment banks. The Treasury plan, by contrast, would establish the central bank more as a monitor of market stability than as a direct supervisor.
Sen. Obama also would create a public-private commission of experts to warn Congress and the White House about emerging systemic risks in the markets.
The Treasury blueprint “is thinnest on some of the substantive regulatory issues,” Prof. Tarullo said. “It doesn’t talk at all about capital and liquidity regulation, which are at the heart of the problem,” and it “appears not to contemplate ongoing regulation of systemically important” nonbanks. “There’s an implication that somehow you can just have monitoring of some sort.”
Sen. Obama has advocated having the United States adopt the Basel II international capital standards, an unusual topic for a campaign speech but an area of expertise for Prof. Tarullo.
“The fact that he focused” on regulatory reform and “talked about things that one normally doesn’t see presidential candidates talk about reflects his commitment toward change” in the regulatory system, the adviser said. “I frequently find, and not just with bankers but with people in industry generally, that one of their biggest concerns is that the position they’re in in the markets is not understood by regulators or political figures or others. As I have learned with Sen. Obama … he is both an incredibly voracious consumer of information about all things, including the economy, and a very quick study.”
Prof. Tarullo also discussed what Sen. Obama has not said; to ensure credit does not dry up, the candidate has been careful to advocate a moderate approach to imposing higher capital standards on nonbanks.
“He did not call in his Cooper Union speech for nonbank financial institutions immediately to have to meet any new capital requirements,” the adviser said. “Although it’s good for capital to be raised, if you can’t raise capital, the other way you meet an increased capital requirement is by stopping lending” and getting assets off the balance sheet. “That was not something that would be helpful in a credit crunch and economic downturn.”
Sen. Obama’s likely rival in the general election, Sen. John McCain, opposed broad government intervention in the mortgage market in a speech March 25, but the Arizona Republican shifted gears April 10 and backed a lighter version of the Frank-Dodd FHA plan.
“McCain initially said that he didn’t think that anything should be done. He then reversed himself a couple of weeks later, and so far as I can tell, I haven’t heard anything since from him,” Prof. Tarullo said.
“But if what people are looking for, and I think it’s what they should be looking for, is to say, ‘Which candidate … focused on these problems early, and stayed with the problems and continued to try to identify what the priorities are?’ I think there’s a big contrast between Obama and McCain.”

Well, a fine “tongue-in-cheek” piece by Jim Wooten. Justice for Hillary?? I guess one of those great conspiracies wiped it out, the one she mentioned when Bill was in trouble. Put her on the ticket with Obama and America will be presented with the greatest fiasco ever placed before a voting public. It would be the Democratic “Change to Catastrophe” ticket. It will be that, even without Hillary.
I commend jbmlaw for his fine report and observations on the safe- guarding of America by the honest and ethical George W. Bush and our military. We, who appreciate the greatness of America, thank them for their loyalty and their sacrifices.
John McCain will carry on this tradition of loyalty and logic as he has always done. There is no one else in this race who has anything worth serious consideration.

So they’ve chosen the weaker candidate. Bring him on.
The hilarity of commonly senseless neo-conservatism never ceases to amaze!
The Wootenheads were practically drooling at the prospect of Sen. Clinton running for the Oval Office in November.
The Republican’s next Karl Rove (Saxby?) must have been positively agog at the near endless slimey possibilities.
And it was the one possible tiny, non-Christmas miracle in an otherwise horrific ongoing nightmare for the neo-cons.
But alas, the mulatto stole their thunder and their only shred of hope.
So the spin now goes that he is somehow preferred as the weaker candidate by the “faithful” “base” in the GOP’s over-represented lunatic fringe.
And perhaps that is true here in the 1940’s Moron Belt.
But not having Hillary around is going to make an already ghastly summer even worse for the once Grand Old Party.
Need proof?
And put her on the ticket, too.
A rational, reasoned American could not have painted a more satisfying scenario.

Clinton’s “concession” speech last night was hilarious. Heads exploded all over Obama’s blogs.
McCain’s speech was just awful but the gop have this:
“For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on “whitey”, and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America. Her rant was fueled by the crowd: they reacted strongly to what she said, so she got more passionate and enraged, and that’s when she completely loses it and says things that have made the mouths drop of everyone who’s seen this.
The “tape” is a DVD that Trinity United sold on its website, and possibly offered free for download up until March 2008 when Trinity’s site was scrubbed and the DVDs were no longer offered for sale.”

Need I remind everyone that Barack Obama is half-Black, and that >51% of the Electoral College votes come from states that are <10% Black?
By nominating Barack Obama, the Democrat Party is conceding that “winning” is nominating a Black man, and winning the presidency does not matter.
If they wanted to have won the presidency, they would have nominated John Edwards; clearly, the people that control the Democrat Party don’t care win the presidency, but to nominate racial minorities for a national office.

“The old guy is looking pretty good…” Please! Put politics aside and try to view the situation from the perspective of the ordinary swing voter.
Agree with his politics or not, Obama gave a speech which had a staduim full of people, with 15,000 more outside, worked into a frenzy.
Pundits compare him to JFK, but he reminds me of Reagan in ‘80 with a perfectly polished message and scores supporters screaming for change.
McCain gave a reactive speech in front of a hideous green backdrop and a couple of hundred people. He did not put forth his own message, but was reduced to mocking Obama’s. “That’s not change you can believe in,” he weezed through his drooping posture and sarcastic smile. He reminded me of my grandfather calling me “dog” in an attempt to sound cool.
McCain was frail, sarcastic and looked utterly lost. And, he has the baggage of $4 gasoline, foreclosures everywhere (9,000 in GA alone yesterday), 4,000 dead American soldiers, a recession (which is a practical reality today and will be a technical reality by Nov) and an incumbant who refuses to acknowledge that the word nuclear only has one “u”.
Be objective - do you honestly believe that voters are going to separate McCain from Bush?
The old guy looks pretty good… are you delusional?
By the way, Mr. Wootenm in response to your critque of Sen. Obama’s strength as a candidate… we had another president from Illinois once and the history of his candidacy may be enlightening to you.
Before he took office the guy had one failed 2 year term in the House, spent a lot of time in the Illinois legislature and had a failed campaign for Senator. Sound familiar? Kind of makes Obama look like a seasoned political vet.
But what he did have was moral clarity on the most significant issue of his day. And, he had the ability to inspire people to greater things while his opponent ran on a pragmatic platform of the status quo.
There is now a monument on our National Mall to that inexperienced state senator from Illinois who became our greatest president.
Who do you think people are going to vote for in this election? Lincoln or Douglas? Kennedy or Nixon? Reagan or Carter? Clinton or Dole?
If you thought last night was a moment in history, just wait until January 20th.
Conservatives have had the last 8 years and blew it. Bush was the punishment for the immorality and embarrassment of Bill Clinton. Obama is the punishment for the brash, thoughtless isolationism and stubborn partisianship of Bush.
The pendulum is swinging and John McCain can’t stop it.

I am really bothered by the Democratic Primary Process. We as Dem’s often point to the Republicans as manipulating the polls. What ever happened to one man one vote. After this process the Democratic Party should condider changing its name to “The Incredibles”. Everyone is a “super” except the voters. Or it might even be called a Democratic Junta by the Power Elite of the party. You could argue this by either candidates point of view. Whatever you call it its not Democratic nor working class. I guess too many powerful people believe things should be decided by someone other than the voter. If we are going to “change”, lets start with this primary process.

Hello Jim, et al.
Indeed, Obama is a good speaker—much better than McCain. But when you get him off the teleprompter—he turns into a one-man gaff machine. This explains why he does so poorly in debates (Hillary KILLED him multiple times). They guy rarely says a word that is not scripted—and when he does—he “steps” in dog squeeze. It happens over and over.
His inconsistency on free-form dialog comes from not having a core belief. Obama is tiptoeing through a minefield to accommodate his patchwork of constituents glued together with chewing gum (“change”) that has no nutritional value.
I listened to Obama’s speech last night until I was about to puke. I lost count of the bumper-sticker platitudes and 30,000 ft. positions (We can do better!) void of any specifics. Folks—-*This is a joke! *
This is McCain’s strength. He can speak free-form and not step in it. (Aw! co’mon! Shiite/Suni is an easy mistake). It is because he has a solid core from which to speak.
To believe a majority of the American public sucks down Oama’s empty swill as the gospel is worse than sad—-it is terrifying.

It’s difficult to educate the average Joe who has been dumb down via education. Because of his/her hubris, they are served with chronic blindness. But you all know my history, against the odds, I’ll attempt to deprogram the average person; and that is a reference to you. I’ll give it the old college try.
Through their political machinery, The New World Order Elites have decided that Hillary Clinton, John McCain, or Barack Obama will become the nation’s 44th President. It’s quite obvious that neither of the three would be a good President for the average American voter; and that is a reference to you. Their allegiance to the Constitution or the Republic is highly questionable. These candidates are servants to the rich, or the super-rich.
In the general election, my first choice will be Ron Paul. If there is momentum building in the Chuck Baldwin camp, he will get my vote. Even reformed Bob Bar is a better choice for the average American voter than any of the New World Order Elite’s favorites.
Without question, my choice of candidates have pledged allegiance to the Constitution of the United States and to the Republic. And they are not highly regarded by the New World Order elites or their minions.

WooTan Clan, As a 2x voter for W - you idiots don’t get it.
The problem with McCain is this: -Not inspiring and the definition of anti-charismatic. -Bereft of any scent of a proposal to arrest the worst economic slide in 30 years. -Promoting a ‘stay the course’ in the least popular military engagement since Vietnam.
If you notice this would align McCain more closely with the following candidates over the last 30 years - Carter; Bush Sr. (well - during 2nd term); Dukakis - in tank shot aside; Bob Dole; Walter Mondale.
Now which candidates have campaigned on soaring rhetoric - with widely panned, but popular and sweeping policy proposals? Kennedy; Reagan; Clinton; Far-left; Middle-Right; Middle-Left.
So there is your problem Wootie and Clan. You can swear up and down that the independents voting for Obama were simply trying to torpedo Hillary. But the reality is that in November the vote will be on the economy, a plan to leave Iraq and the desire to change direction.
Having voted for the ‘winner’ (and it hasn’t always felt that way later - see Bush and Clinton) - though undecided now, it seems to me the moderate vote would probably tend towards Obama today. If John M makes the same mistake as Hillary’s campaign team - all kinds of havoc could occur on the electoral map. States with large black populations and stronger anti-war sentiment than you want to admit - like Georgia, NC, SC, Ark, Tenn - could all be in play.
At a minimum - likely to be a real horse race this time.

If my candidate had the uphill climb that yours does and was facing a candidate as powerful as Obama, I would be pretty defensive, too. I wonder why McCain did not allow cameras into his fundraiser last week? Was it because Bush was the keynote speaker? Is he the candidate of “change” or is he snuggling up to the “base”? I don’t think he can make up his mind. Hmmm…I wonder if folks will note his many, many contradictions, like voting against making the Bush tax cuts permanent and now saying he is for them? How ironic that Bush sabotaged his campaign in 2000 by calling voters in the south and asking them if they would vote for McCain if they found out he had an illegitimate black child and NOW he has to run against a black man. Oh, irony! McCain is McScrewed!

You are so RIGHT Steve-O…they are soooooo scared….too bad they can’t pull the abortion and gay marriage issues out this time…it;s not even about Iraq (are Bush’s daughter’s ther fighting yet)? Nope…people NOW care about crap like deficits (as Bubble Boy was handed a surplus), and $3 loaves of bread…$4 and $5 a gallon gas…
McLame…should just BEG at this very time…to be VP…
Even though he WAS a war hero…it has NOTHING to do with running a country…nor does the amount of time one spends in our Gvt…it has to to with being…hmmmmm…SMART…at Bubble was not…nor is Mclame (though I like him)…it ONLY has to do with having a BRAIN and get this “logic”….
Logical people don’t mant more of the same…
They don’t CARE about gay marriage (though they should have that right)…they don’t CARE about abortions)…they CARE about: IMPORTANT stuff…like health care, our economy, and our standing around the world…about the many more terrorists world wide we have created because of our “big d!ick” attitude around the globe…
McCain is a done deal… all one had to do…was watch HIS speech to 200 people last night…and Obama’s to over 31,000….
Change? yup…too bad it’s too late…as Bubble Boy gave ALL of our money…and “borrowed” money to his buddies around the world…
Higher taxes under obama you say? Once again..it show’s that giving tax breaks to the biggest companies and those with the most wealth…do NOT lead to “trickle down” economics…
sad that too many watch FAUX news …and get their “info” from them….
just ask around the world…as to how we are thought of…looked at…
Clinton was the one that had flowers handed to him…Bubble Boy…sat for 7 minutes stuck like a lost deer in the head lights….and HE was the LEADER…that the majority of GA voters elected…

For the debates to be fair, they will have to schedule them to start at about 3pm. That way McCain can take his hour long afternoon nap at 1pm and be up and alert by 3.
Any debate starting at or after 8pm would be a disaster for McCain. I guess McCain could let a late start be an ally. He could pretend to nod off when asked about fellow Republican, President George W. Bush, probably would be better than lying.
I can see this as a great debate question….”Sen McCain, how would you react to a late night phone call that needed your urgent attention?” I for one would like to know how McCain thinks he would react to that 11pm phone call.

I get so tired of you people who refuse acknowledge my commitement and definition of CHANGE so let me break it down for you:
It’s not change when John McCain decided to stand with George Bush ninety-five percent of the time, as he did in the Senate last year.
It’s not change when he offers four more years of Bush economic policies that have failed to create well-paying jobs, or insure our workers, or help Americans afford the skyrocketing cost of college – policies that have lowered the real incomes of the average American family, widened the gap between Wall Street and Main Street, and left our children with a mountain of debt.
And it’s not change when he promises to continue a policy in Iraq that asks everything of our brave men and women in uniform and nothing of Iraqi politicians – a policy where all we look for are reasons to stay in Iraq, while we spend billions of dollars a month on a war that isn’t making the American people any safer.
So I’ll say this – there are many words to describe John McCain’s attempt to pass off his embrace of George Bush’s policies as bipartisan and new. But change is not one of them.
Change is a foreign policy that doesn’t begin and end with a war that should’ve never been authorized and never been waged. I won’t stand here and pretend that there are many good options left in Iraq, but what’s not an option is leaving our troops in that country for the next hundred years – especially at a time when our military is overstretched, our nation is isolated, and nearly every other threat to America is being ignored.
We must be as careful getting out of Iraq as we were careless getting in - but start leaving we must. It’s time for Iraqis to take responsibility for their future. It’s time to rebuild our military and give our veterans the care they need and the benefits they deserve when they come home. It’s time to refocus our efforts on al Qaeda’s leadership and Afghanistan, and rally the world against the common threats of the 21st century – terrorism and nuclear weapons; climate change and poverty; genocide and disease. That’s what change is.
Change is realizing that meeting today’s threats requires not just our firepower, but the power of our diplomacy – tough, direct diplomacy where the President of the United States isn’t afraid to let any petty dictator know where America stands and what we stand for. We must once again have the courage and conviction to lead the free world. That is the legacy of Roosevelt, and Truman, and Kennedy. That’s what the American people want. That’s what change is.
Change is building an economy that rewards not just wealth, but the work and workers who created it. It’s understanding that the struggles facing working families can’t be solved by spending billions of dollars on more tax breaks for big corporations and wealthy CEOs, but by giving a the middle-class a tax break, and investing in our crumbling infrastructure, and transforming how we use energy, and improving our schools, and renewing our commitment to science and innovation. It’s understanding that fiscal responsibility and shared prosperity can go hand-in-hand, as they did when Bill Clinton was President.

DaveD, what these hatemongers don’t realize is that they are a dying breed. The younger generation, which largely supports Obama, does not have a problem with gay marriage. Those old ways are on their way out. If you like to old school, hate-filled ways then vote for McCain, the rest of us will wave to you from our rearview mirrors as we pass you by. Gay rights is a civil rights and all those who oppose them will be written in history the same way folks like Lester Maddox and George Wallace have been— as people on the wrong side of an issue. That being said, this campaign is not about gay marriage because that is going to happen no matter who is elected. When gas is over 4 bucks a gallon, groceries are skyhigh, people are losing their homes by the thousands, we are bogged down in a pointless, endless war and our reputation is mud around the world, I don’t think voters will be so distracted by usual smoke-and-mirrors campaign tactics that have worked for you in the past. Who gives a rip about gay marriage when I can’t afford to fill up my tank without a bank loan!

McCain? McCain! Is that the best you guys could do? He is really terrible. This is going to be a tough one. I think you all are about to have your butts handed to you on a platter. With all that is going on in the world and with how very badly Bush has screwed everything up all you guys can crow about is taxes? Do you really think hauling out that old chestnut will work this time around? I don’t know but I think you guys have kind of lost your minds. I realize that there are about 30% of the voting public that will vote for Republicans no matter what they do and ya’ll are really proving that now. Because, my God, was Bush a disaster, but you are still defending him. Amazing. Well, the rest of us see through it, so why don’t you turn around and preach to the choir because the rest of us think you are crazy.

This is the disposition of the average American voter; and that’s a reference to you. “It doesn’t concern me if a candidate for President has pledged allegiance to Freemasonry, The Illuminati, Knights of Columbus, The Bilderberg Group, Club of Rome, Order of the Bull’s Blood, Skull and Bones, Committee of 300, The trilateral Commission, Council on Foreign Relations, etc. I’m voting for the best person that represents change.”
Because of the hubris of most Americans, they have been served with blindness. American voters can’t perceive that members of secret societies have betrayed/deceived governments and average citizens throughout history. Most of the candidates running for President of the United States are members of secret societies.
How do you confront this problem? Your hubris will likely influence you to ignore it at your own peril/demise.

My opinion on the current situation is that should Mrs. Clinton be selected as VP running mate the odds of that ticket winning is two to five or less. The reason being that all anti-Mrs.Clinton voters will be certain to vote. Not for the Republican, but to insure that she is not even a heart beat removed from becoming president, that is how deeply people believe she should never be the holder of either of the only two nation wide elected offices.

Lauren, well said.
That is one of the numerous critical failings of this “new” “conservative” GOP.
Rather than focus on effective governance, and demonstrating that they were actually the party to get things done in DC, they took advantage of their reprieve from those forty years in the political land of nod to first and foremost, extract revenge.
Boy, was that a dumb idea!

For the sake of discussion (and because the notion has some basis in what we know), let’s say I am not blind to this “fact” and am willing to set aside my hubris. (I never thought Kerry wanted or tried to win, BTW.)
What do you suggest? I could vote Libertarian or Green Party, but this will have zero affect the transition of power of one such entity to another. Most of us vote the “lesser of the evils” as we see it, at least some of the time.

Do any of you remember back in 1992 when Clinton was running against the fist Bush and the whole campaign was about CHANGE and then Bush started trying to say HE was the candidate for change…and he was the incumbant…that was hilarious. JK, here are my two cents worth.
If your heart tells you to vote Libertarian or Green party, DO IT!
And though I feel like Homer in that episode of the Simpsons where Kang the alien, laughs at him and say, “Go ahead, throw your vote away on a third party”, I have and will likely do so again.
We are all free men and can make our own choices. Irrespective of the wishes (demands?) of the power brokers in the Republican and Democratic Parties.
Change comes from within and with one person at a time.
This self-serving duopoly in American politics will do anything to avoid their ultimate demise (or at least keep their ruthless control intact), but I think (hope?) it is futile.
In large part thanks to Ralph Nader and the others like him that are certain to follow.
The entrenched crooks in both parties have had their innumerable chances to change their ways, but have ultimately just screwed the pooch…

The US military has awarded an $80 million contract to a prominent Saudi financier who has been indicted by the US Justice Department. The contract to supply jet fuel to American bases in Afghanistan was awarded to the Attock Refinery Ltd, a Pakistani-based refinery owned by Gaith Pharaon. Pharaon is wanted in connection with his alleged role at the failed Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI), and the CenTrust savings and loan scandal, which cost US tax payers $1.7 billion.

At least 3,990 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the war in 2003. It has cost taxpayers about $500 billion and estimates of the final tab run far higher. Beyond 2008, working with “best-case” and “realistic-moderate” scenarios, they project the Iraq and Afghan wars, including long-term U.S. military occupations of those countries, will cost the U.S. budget between $1.7 trillion and $2.7 trillion — or more — by 2017.

trickle down economics (like under Reagan/Bush do NOT work… nice looking in theory and on paper…yet it has NEVEr worked that way. The rich only got richer, the poor got poorer, and the middle class added more to the “poor” list.

In 1992, when Bill Clinton was elected President, the American economy was barely creating jobs, wages were stagnant, and the unemployment rate was 7.5 percent. President Clinton’s bold, three-part economic strategy has focused on three objectives: fiscal discipline, investing in education, health care, science and technology; and opening foreign markets. This strategy has helped create over 22.4 million jobs and contributed to the longest economic expansion in U.S. history.
22.4 Million New Jobs Created Under the Clinton-Gore Administration. Since January 1993, the economy has added 22.4 million new jobs. That’s the most jobs ever created under a single Administration — and more new jobs than Presidents Reagan and Bush created during their three terms. Under President Clinton, the economy has added an average of 240,000 jobs per month, the highest of any President on record. This compares to 52,000 per month under President Bush and 167,000 per month under President Reagan.
92 Percent — 20.6 Million — of the New Jobs Have Been Created in the Private Sector. Since President Clinton and Vice President Gore took office, the private sector of the economy has added 20.6 million new jobs. That is 92 percent of the 22.4 million new jobs — the highest percentage since Harry S. Truman was President and presiding over the post-World War II demobilization.
The Unemployment Rate Was 3.9 Percent in October — Nearly the Lowest in Three Decades. The unemployment rate stayed low at 3.9 percent in October — nearly the lowest in three decades. The unemployment rate has fallen for seven years in a row. It has remained below 5 percent for 40 months in a row. For women the unemployment rate was 3.9 percent — nearly the lowest since 1953.”*
And yeah Lauren…McLame’s speech last night…was sorry…sad, and in fact mind numbing… unless you’re part of the AARP crowd…who he will also srew over, just like how he wants to continue screwing over our Iraq war veterans…by trying to keep them in the military by holding over the complete funds for college they were promised when they signed up…
Sorry if they need to resort to games to keep people in the miltary. Kids don’t want to sign up unless they have no other options available…and because of this economy…it looks like they’re getting their way on that end as well….

DaveD…oh whoopee
You can quote the longest with the leastest.
You think DNC news is the sweetest.
But please refrain.
You’re already a pain.
Being concise is still the neatest!!

Show me the numbers…the economic expansion that has occured under Republicans dust rag….
I’ll be waiting… but you never do quote “facts”…you only spin…just like Jim here, and Rush, and Hannity, and O’rock head…etc…
Show me some hard numbers that say that dems raise taxes on the middle class… or that the economy does worse…it’s just the opposite…
the stock market also has always performed better under dems… that too is a fact I’ve posted here before…with the charts and statistics to show what I wsay to be true. All I ever see is “talking points” that are from fox news from you repulsivicans…. fear…
Know what fearful and FRIGHTENING?! That you gave the keys to the white house to Bubble Boy…kept in there a 2nd time…and STILL don’t see how far he has dragged this nation down…
Sorry… there’s a crisis going on, so I guess it’s time for me to go read “my pet goat”….

Are you for real? Hillary had all those votes because a racist told the republicans to cross over and vote in the democratic primary?
My My My, what would the vote be if that happen. 1 million?

Oh Dear Dusty. Are your rhymes meant to thrust me,
Through the heart. Your aim needs repair,
For your stabs could barely cut the air,
Or, was it the gas that passed from thee.

Why is Ed Schultz not carried on the radio in Atlanta, when instead we get the annoying neophyte Herman frickin’ Kane?

Hey Guys,
I think you’re all forgetting something.
None of the things that you’re saying are important. I won. So now, I’m in the driver’s seat.
Just thought I would remind you.
Warm Regards, -B.O.

Jim, why does AJC keep you employed? Surely can’t be due to the fact of you intellect! I was for Hill at first, but changed course after Iowa. Why? Because in Obama I saw a person who has the fortitude and intellect to move this America into the 21st century. In a nutshell, you, Bush and your jerk neo(con)artists buddies FAILED OUR COUNTRY, plain and simple. Now you’re asking us to again put a new bunch of nincompoops in office. The last time I looked, Dumbya’s approval ratings are shooting through the roof at 28%!! Please, you and your silly cohorts can’t fool the people any longer. It is time for idiots like you, Hannity and Limbaugh fade into the dust bin of history and let someone with common sense and new ideas take the lead. McBush is more of the same and Hillary? In the end “Miss Inevitable” turned out to be a “drama queen”. The last person who will be left standing will be Obama because of his organizational, creativity and team building skills. It time we expose you for who and what you’ve always been - A COMPLETE DIMWIT!!

So it goes into the night,
Nonsense noodling from the not so bright.
Promise libs anything, all for free,
Healthcare, everything for me,me,me.
The rich got rich by using their head
So tax ‘em and give it to me, libs said.
No war, no defense, they’ll talk terror to death.
That will be big CHANGE, if there’s anybody left.
Now one lib signed his personal writ.
Name suitable for all..COMPLETE DIMWIT!!

To dusty
I laugh at con artists like you. The deficit is sky high as you cling onto your neo(con)nonsense. People stopped listening to you idiots long ago. The liberal thing is just another neo(con)scam to hide your failures. The fact is you dweebs have screwed up America and now we have to come back and clean up your messes. You fools pur your faith in a boozed up, coked up oil man. Look at the facts, call me liberal all you want, but nothing can hide the facts that you conservative fools are a bunch scum sucking complete failures.

Besides the lies, the misconceptions and pure stupidity, you express yourself like a two bit back alley bum.
You cannot appreciate what this country has given you. Now you want to elect somebody with no experience and why? Because he can make a good speech.
Now that is smart. Right in line with your borderline abilities. The only clean up you’ll ever do is mopping floors. Then your liberal leader will take half your paycheck for taxes if he is elected. If you are lucky, McCain will run this country. If not, all of us will be in deep trouble.
Good night, DimWit.

Jim stick to writing about how the Republicans are going to get trounced this fall and leave the Democrats alone. They really don’t need your help. Stick to explaining how 8 years of a conservative President has been a complete failure!

Good morning all. I have determined to change my blog-handle, inspired by the writings of various of our leftist kooks. Chairman Ann today posted an amusing essay on the topic, “Obama was selected, not elected,” a clever contrast between the 2000 general election and the democrat primary. I commend it to all, even our leftist friends.

You’ve renamed yourself most appropriately, Tool. Anyone quoting a screeching lunatic like Coulter is doing a lot more to destroy the Republicans than Obama and I could ever hope for.
Thank you for admitting the obvious! (snicker)

Warning to all you Obama haters, “Change” will resonate around the world. Just you wait and see. Just as MLK inspired people around the world to engage in the struggle for social justice so will Obama inspire millions around the world to seek change. Is there anyone out there willing to bet that a worldly cry for change will not resonate with others around the world?

I told my wife the other day that I wanted CHANGE in my life. Maybe a new woman on the side, if you will.
She clubbed me in the head with a cast iron skillet and asked me how’d I like the new flat spot in my skull.
