Help the Dems find a bumper sticker

Sometimes the best ideas come from people outside Washington, says Democratic political strategist James Carville. So help. Please.

“We need a turn of phrase that really jumps out and tells you right off the bat what this election is all about,” said Carville, who’s credited with providing Bill Clinton “It’s the Economy, Stupid.” The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee wants a bumper sticker phrase that describes the stakes in the ‘08 election. The bumper-sticker phrase would also appear on its literature.

The DSCC has four suggestions with a voting deadline of midnight tonight. Those include: “W is Out: Send the Right Wing With Him,” “No Republicans Left Behind in D.C.,” “What Have Republicans Done for You Lately?” and “2006 Was Just the Beginning: More Dems in ‘08.”

Having read Washington’s work effort, all of us should fully understand the call for the nation’s help. So let’s do it.

A colleague starts it off. His suggestion: “Death to America.” Another option: “George Was Right (McGovern Not Bush).”

I am more charitable. My suggestion, drawn from the Baptist hymnal: “I Surrender All” The song had such a powerful influence on the life of its author, Judson W. Van DeVenter, that he decided to change careers, becoming an evangelist. This bumper sticker could be career-changing for Senate Democrats, too, especially when it sinks in on the nation that this is their Iraqi policy.

The Captain mourns as another stalwart Defender of Our Leader’s Right to Torture and Eavesdrop For Our Own Good leaves the Beltway Cesspool to spend more time with Karen Hughes’ family.

Abu Gonzales was a Lion of Law Enforcement, and knew how to wipe his a$$ with the Constitution better than any man alive not named Dick or George. He will be deeply missed by all Men of True Belief and Right Thinking.

Perhaps jbmlaw is available to fill the Godly Gonzales’ shoes? I can think of no abler candidate to carry on his Godly work. Plus, he has the added advantage of not being an illegal immigrant (though kudos for Abu G for not letting that hold him back).

January 20, 2009 END OF AN ERROR

By Mid-South Philosopher

August 27, 2007 9:02 AM | Link to this

Good morning, Jim,

It appears that Alphonso…excuse me…Alberto Gonzales is about to resign.

This coupled with Karl Halderman…excuse me…Rove’s resignation tends to cause the liberals and the progressives to want to use the phrase rats deserting a sinking ship.

This is NOT what is happening.

Georgie Bush’s Administration is effectively done. Very little of anything useful will be accomplished from this point on. This is not unique to Georgie. All second term Presidents suffer from growing lameness as they approach the fourth quarter of their second term, and, despite his swagger, Georgie is laming up with the best of them.

What George W. Bush is concerned with now is his legacy.

Georgie Bush’s legacy is his defence of the homeland.

The one overwhelming, unarguable truth is that, since 911 and the anthrax attacks that followed, by hook or by crook, Georgie has kept America free of any further attacks on the homeland.

It is true that he did NOT defend America from the continuing invasion of illegal aliens from the south, but that can’t be held against him. Otherwise, who would do the lawn work, laundry, and house cleaning!

In order to emphasize his legacy, Georgie has to remove those elements that enunciate his ineptitude.

Michael D. Brown is gone.

Harriet Miers is gone.

Donnie Rumsfeld is gone.

Karl…Halderman…excuse me…Rove is gone.

Alphonso…excuse me…Alberto Gonzales is going.

Georgie is cleaning house.

Best of luck to him.

Well, I suggest the Dems bumper sticker read “We Want Our Money and Yours Too.” Or “Be Sure to Read Your Koran Today.” Or “My President Went to Damascus and All I Got Was This Tax Bill.”

Anyway, I’m tuned in on my portable TV to see Vick plead guilty and get ready to go to his own kennel. I guess that will fix him for loosing all those games. If he would of took us to the Super Bowl he might could kill 30 or 40 people and get by with a little fine. Every time I see him I think of what a fool Arthur Blank was. Wheeling the guy around the stadium and smiling like he just won the lottery while Vick was pocketing millions and thinking about weather his dog was going to win his fight.

If this ain’t a argument for a all-white team I don’t know what is. We could call it the Atlanta Klansmen and they could dress up in white uniforms with a little hood that comes down over the helmet with eye holes. They would play all their games at night and start out with a big burning cross. They would hang a dummy dressed in the uniform of the opponent. Us rednecks would just flock to the games.

Anyway, I’m real sorry to see that the AG has resigned. Even if he was a Mexican. He went after the libruls good and got blasted for it. I keep thinking, what good does it do to have the right to the office if you can’t go after your enemas? Course, he talked like a lawyer and lied a lot to Congress, but that’s what lawyers do all the time anyway. Just ask jbmlaw. If there was 30 feet of snow on the ground he would tell you you need to put on your swim suit and wear plenty of sunscreen. Lawyers can’t help it.

Anyway, things is getting nasty on this blog. Yesterday people said Wootenhooten was Andie or Luckodull. I think he is just old Markus after he got kicked off the blog for cussing. And somebody said I was God Hates Trash. What we need is for Wooten to hold a Wootenblog Convention so everybody can get together and come clean about who they are. Course, we would need a strong wire fence to seperate the two sides, after all the names people been calling each other. Us godly Conservatives could be on one side and drink fine wine and fancy eats. The libruls could share a bottle of K-Mart Cola and a box of crackers for being Wrong all the time. That’s how it is anyhow. Us Conservatives want to keep all the good things we have and the libruls want to take it away from us with high taxes. Anyway, everybody could just fess up to who they are. It’s a lot easier to cuss somebody after you get to know him.

Iraq: Come for the Shia Militia; Stay for Al Queda!!

A desert paradise of terrorists, insurgents, and former bathist regimists, Iraq is now a favorite holiday destination for jet-and-trend-setting liberals.

There’s even an Al Queda Gay Men’s Choir dinner theatre. ( vests and plastic ties required).

When you arrive at Baghdad Bob Airport you are immediately strip-searched and hosed down, complements of Iranian-backed renegade shia die hards who promise not to waterboard and to abduct only one or two infidels out of any entourage . Then you will be escorted by a convoy of sitting duck humvees camoflaged in the latest bullseye rendition by a famous Sunni artist.

Once you arrive at your hotel, you will be asked to attend a jihad initiation rite and participate in a stoning. It’s all just so cool.

Junkets are organizing now and departure is scheduled to coincide with Vietnam’s 40th Anniversary of the Tet Offensive, which shows how closely Iraq and Vietnam are linked in today’s hot geo-political tourism wars.

Hurry, there’s limited space available, there’s only 15 hostage vacancies, no wait, there’s 19 vacan….no, 25! Wow, people are being taken faster than we can evacuate them.

Hey! That is like Vietnam!!!

It is this type of irresponsible, misleading “journalism” that has intentionally led the American people into an unnecessary war.

Over 3,600 American soldiers dead and Jim Wooten still wants to play like its only a game between two political partys.

Dennis, you wouldn’t know the truth if it hit you in the face.

The Democratic POLICY in the Iraq War has been “surrender” in any form they can get. That is what Jim Wooten is talking about and we all know it.

Why don’t you count the number of people killed on 9/11, the number of Iraqis killed by Saddam, the number of Iraqis killed by terrorists, the number of Americans and UN reps killed by the bombings of embassies and battleships and the number of hostages killed (as the Koreans hostages are being killed now by terrorists) and give us that count. That will be an excuse for your spineless fright and total inability to fight terrorism or support those who DO fight it.

What does it mean if we surrender in Iraq? Surrender to whom? Then what? Bug out? Redeploy to another country that didn’t attack us on 911? I like Switzerland.

{{{{A closer examination of the official Pentagon statistics tell quite a different story. The problem is that they are only comparing total military deaths, which means anyone in the military, active or reserve, who died that year from any cause. Even by that comparison, of course, there have been more under Bush.

Total military deaths 1993-2000: 7500 or 938/year

Total military deaths 2001-2006: 8792 or 1465/year

But if you look at deaths from combat, you get a much different picture:

Total combat deaths 1993-2000: 1

Total combat deaths 2001-2006: 2596.

And that’s not counting the last 7 months. So this notion that the media is making a big deal out of these deaths while they ignored the deaths under Clinton is patently absurd. There are many other reasons it’s absurd as well, of course, like the now nearly a trillion dollars we’ve spent while losing all these soldiers with no positive benefit to show for it. The total number of deaths is irrelevant; Clinton did not get thousands of soldiers killed in a bankrupting, aimless, ill-planned war that achieved no reasonable strategic goal. Let’s compare apples to apples, at the very least.}}}

For Democratic

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall posses the land.

Blessed are they who mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

A man is stumbling through the woods totally drunk when he comes upon a preacher baptizing people in the river.

He proceeds to walk into the water and subsequently bumps into the preacher.

The preacher turns around and is almost overcome by the smell of alcohol, where upon he asks the drunk, “Are you ready to find Jesus?”

The drunk answers, "Yes, I am."

So the preacher grabs him and dunks him in the water.

He pulls him up and asks the drunk,

“Brother, Have you found Jesus?”

The drunk replies, “No, I haven’t found Jesus.”

The preacher shocked at the answer, dunks him into the water again for a little longer this time.

He again pulls him out of the water and asks again, "Have you found Jesus, my brother?" The drunk again answers, "No, I haven't found Jesus."

By this time the preacher is at his wits end and dunks the drunk in the water again-but this time holds him down for about 30 seconds and when he begins kicking his arms and legs he pulls him up.

The preacher again asks the drunk.

“For the love of God, have you found Jesus?”

The drunk wipes his eyes and catches his breath and says to the preacher, “Are you sure this is where he fell in?

Now that all of the Demodos have been posted could we move on to something else? How about Michael Chertoff? Someone said that he had been suggested to take the place of AG Gonzales.

Now that sounds like a good idea. Of course he is Sec of Homeland Defence and doing a great job.

Now this man is very smart. Graduated from Harvard College magna cum laude and then finished Harvard Law School magna cum laude. That’s a good start.

Later he was US Circuit judge for 3rd Circuit Court of appeals. He served a decade as a Federal Prosecutor in NJ and NY.

Another thing I like about Chertoff is his ability to look unshakable. Should he come before Congress for approval as AG, those smirking Democratic senators will find they are poking sticks at a bull dog. Chertoff will not roll over for them. Just what we need to meet a do nothing overbearing Congress.

Yep, Chertoff is the MAN. Well, I hope so.

I doubt Chertoff will want to testify on this:

“Chertoff: Well, I think if you look at what actually happened, I remember on Tuesday morning picking up newspapers and I saw headlines, “New Orleans Dodged the Bullet.” Because if you recall, the storm moved to the east and then continued on and appeared to pass with considerable damage but nothing worse.”

Lets go over the Katrina disaster again for Dusty. It made her happy.

Geez.
