Emory aid, Durham DA and USS Ford
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Thinking Right’s free-for-all Friday. Pick a topic:
• The best book yet to be written is the Duke University rape case. Durham County District Attorney Mike Nifong, who probably should be disbarred, has turned the case over to the state’s attorney general, who appointed two special prosecutors. The story here is the rush to judgment by Nifong, Duke faculty and others. Who said and did what and when — and why — would make a great tale of hysteria driven by political correctness to the point of ruining lives.
• President Ronald Reagan’s defense buildup contributed significantly to the collapse of the Soviet Union. The headline “Builders push poor out of central Beijing” suggests another possible secret weapon in America’s arsenal. Send the American Civil Liberties Union to China. It won’t survive the litigation.
• Unless it’s a crook, the state Department of Education should be careful not to go overboard in cracking down on the tutoring firms that have sprung up under No Child Left Behind. Ultimately, the state and parents should decide whether the tutoring service is doing their child any good. The focus always should be toward pushing parents to make decisions and accept responsibility — with information gathered and disseminated by the state.
• Colleges and universities would have to keep the visas of foreign students on file, track their immigration status and prohibit students with expired visas from attending class under a bill sponsored in the House by state Rep. Burke Day (R-Tybee Island). And the controversy is? Do it.
• No problem here with Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle’s decision not to push Voter ID right now. The election didn’t change last year’s vote tally. Clearly, until four Senate Democrats sign on to the required constitutional amendment, the GOP lacks the two-thirds majority needed to pass it.
When we know the outcome in advance, why bother with the speeches?
• Super new program at Emory University will commit to families with incomes between $50,000 and $100,000 that their child won’t have to take out more than $15,000 in student loans over four years. The rich can pay and the poor get financial assistance at expensive private colleges; the ones out in the cold are children of the middle class. This throws them a lifeline, too.
• The U.S. Navy will name its next aircraft carrier the USS Gerald R. Ford. It’s right in two respects: Ford loved and served in the Navy during World War II. And the honor comes after his death — which is when names should be attached to public buildings, roads, facilities and vessels.
• Praise be. The U.S. Senate voted this week to require senators to publicly reveal their pork, both the earmarks tucked into federal spending and all nonfederal appropriations. Passage is a tribute to U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), who has long championed earmarks reform, and U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), who insisted on toughening up legislation passed by the House earlier this month. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) originally opposed DeMint, but capitulated after Coburn pointed out that the Democratic bill would cover only 5 percent of the 13,000 earmarks passed last year. It’ll be a great day for taxpayers when earmarks disclosure becomes law.
• “Paper kills,” says former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Not this one … our competitors, maybe. Well, not kill. Mostly bore. All of which is beside the point. The old system of physician hen-scratches is dangerous. A new Internet site, a joint venture of technology and health care companies, enables physicians to prescribe electronically for free. This is one of those dozens of reforms needed in the way we deliver, pay for and consume health care services. Gingrich, its champion, could be a serious contender for president if the nation makes health care costs and outcomes its top priority.
• When there are fewer mourners and drier eyes at your funeral than at Ralph the whale shark’s at the Georgia Aquarium, the moral is not that you were a nobody, but that you’ve left a world that has lost its capacity to recognize the difference between humans and other forms of life. Soon we’ll be holding wakes for mink coats.

“you’ve left a world that has lost its capacity to recognize the difference between humans and other forms of life.”
Lost the capacity? No, not at all. It’s more an indicator of whose life was more meaningful. And plenty of animals have led FAR more meaningful lives than many humans I’ve seen.
Exciting news, by the way: President Bush announces willingness to obey the law! (http://www.atlantaprogressivenews.com/news/0119.html) This is widely regarded as a HUGE setback for Republicans who had previously considered themselves above such petty concerns.
Incoming Democratic freshman rejoice. “Never has the bar been set so low,” one crowed. “All we have to do is not rape a dead goat on live television, and we’ll look like saints by comparison!”

Good morning all. The only reason I yield to Jim’s evaluation of the Nifong book is that the more interesting story of our Gwinnett brothel has already been made into Broadway musical and Hollywood movie. They would have to move the venue from Texas to Georgia, but the story is the same.
Thank goodness we have the Department of Education interfering with the private right of contract, between parents and potential tutors; no telling what children might learn in a free environment. That sort of big brother superior thinking is what happens when you create a bureaucracy with no end product.
The Senate earmarks vote is much funnier than the story Jim tells. Reid had proposed his non-change window-dressing, and (I think it was) DeMint proposed amending the restriction to parallel Nancy Pelosi’s house rule. Reid knee-jerk opposed the change (not knowing the similarity to Pelosi’s rule), but lost on the proposal to change; when the WSJ mocked Reid publicly, he yielded.
While I like the idea of Gingrich’s new medical internet site, it does not go far enough. Why should we not have public access and allow private right to “write” prescriptions, get doctors out of the mix entirely?

Where is all the black and liberal outrage at the disgusting uppity bigotry and lemming like rush to judgment over the shameful, infamous Duke Lynching. The mentally unbalanced, lying black stipper/prostitute has thus far got away with one of the most despicable of crimes that any woman can ever perpetrate - falsely and maliciously crying rape in a purely racial spite case.
Blacks and liberals, and especially the evil liberal DA Nifong, owe the completely innocent legally lynched white students a grovelling apology for their bigotry, racebaiting, lemming like hysterical rush to judgment and implaccable refusal to actually objectively investigate and assess ALL the facts and overwhelmingly exculpatory evidence. The stripper and Nifong belong in jail for their crimes.
Libby’s Lynching in DC is already being badly affected by the presence of sick and twisted Bush haters in the jury pool.
This GA Voter ID Bill should be pursued as soon as possible, its one of the finest bills to emerge from the legislature in decades. Its only hatepig liberals and racebaiting blacks who know the truth about their corrupt vote buying, dead people voting, multiple voting etc scams. Practices that are far too common in many demoNcrat areas of the US. This is just part of the dark legacy of over a century of arrogant corrupt demoNcrat control of GA.
The state legislature also needs to crack down much harder on illegals in every way possible. Target the employers as well as the liberals who pander to them and empower their abuse of tax payer and other benefits they have no moral/legal right to.
Pork barrel projects from both parties should be prevented, at county, state and national level. Taxes for all of us can easily be reduced by stopping pandering to any special interests, any racial group, consumer group or industry. Even the far left Republican Yankkkee Bloomberg in New Yaaawk City is reducing taxes for everyone on certain goods because of the surplus billions already ‘extorted’. Always give the money back to the folks.
Hilarious to see the Pelosibitch and corrupt Dingy Reid already publicly humiliated in just a week or so by their arrogant abuse of power in their new supercilious liberal regime. At least Bush can still veto the worst of their chicanery.
Still no news on the corrupt Willie Campbell’s life in a FL federal prison. Hopefully he’ll soon be joined by the corrupt congressional black caucus chappie who had $90,000 in his freezer. And why the stony silence on the official investigation into sick willie’s venal pardon selling scam. Looks like this will be swept under the carpet, just as if Butch Reno was still blocking investigations into the most corrupt post war administration.
There’s something rather queer about all this limpwristed screeching:

Epithaph for Ralph on his tombstone: “I was a Big fish in a small pond, well, not really even a pond, more like a puddle, honestly I’ve seen larger goldfish bowls, what did they expect me to do, I remember this one time at Hammerhead Camp….”
The best book yet to be written is about how we communicate, after all, Mr. Wooten, you called it the “Duke University Rape Case”.
You cant make a silk parse out of a neo’s earmark.
One of the classes tutored for No Child Left Behind is “How to stay in school after your Visa has expired”. We are our own worst enemy. Those tutors probably make more than our teachers, paid for by the neo-newts, who have obviously never been tutored in constitutional law.
Doctor’s handwriting goes to the core of our inability to communicate properly. We never ever reveal our intentions. We might think we say it like it is, but we merely emote disquised cultural war whoops, like our ancient ancestors, who would move through the dark and tangled jungle communicating coded oral signals that wouldn’t betray their position, yet would broadcast intel to allies.
That’s why I never understand a word you write, Mr Wooten, the problem’s in our genes.
Strangely enough, in WW2, the Japs painted the decks of their aircraft carriers a bright yellow, making them easy targets for our dive bombers. The Japs just never quite got the concept of stealth. (or radar)

The Truth Hurts and Brian Curtis,
Some of us have jobs, you know “work”.
I see that section 220 of S 1 has been defeated, that goodness. Jim Wooten would have had to register with Congress as a grassroots organizer.
I can not imagine the Congress actually allowing earmarks being made public with their names attached. I do not think it will survive to make it to the Presidents desk.
Outside of that, I think this column is what I needed, a bit of comic relief after a long work week - oops, there I go again using words not meaningful to the lefties.

Sorry to see Wooten slamming the private tutor outfits. If Ida had one back in the day, I mighta learnt them multiplying tables and not dropped out in the 5th grade. Then I could be using big words like jbmlaw and tftt without saying nothing but “your mama’s another one.” They went to school, but they sure didn’t get no edumacation.
Glad to see they are naming that aircraft boat after President Ford. It will probly fall off the skids when it’s launched and get showed all over TV. Or maybe it will run into two or three other boats like his golf balls run into watchers at the golf course. He was a librul. He called hisself a Republican, but he was for race-mixing and abortion and all the other librul causes.
We don’t need no doctors offices for perscriptions. Let people get their medacin on the net. If Sen. Bill Frist can tell everything about a womans condition just by watching her on TV, somebody that operates the net can tell what medacins we need.
Well, it’s off to the beer run for me. I want to get off this blog before the name calling begins. Besides jbmlaw and tftt, there will be Dusty calling everybody a trader for not seeing things the way she does, and Van and Markus will be chipping in. I’m glad I didn’t get much edumacation. I could learn to cuss people and call them names on my own, without wasting my time in a class room. Have a good weekend, everybody.

Just curious: Where were Senators Coburn, Demint and McConnell on this earmark issue when the GOP had control of the Senate the last 6 years? The “fiscal conservatives of the Republican Party sent more pork home than Hormel while they were in charge. Reid may have opposed the amendment initially, but at least he got the issue on the table. Senator Frist was too busy watching video and trying to diagnose patients to address the real problems of this country. Don’t try to co-opt the Democrats’ success on this issue by crediting the GOP for another round of fiscal responsibility forced on them by the Democrats. The GOP is late to the table on this one.

The collapse of the soviet union. attributed to Reagan’s Star Wars program? no sir. there was always a disconnect between official soviet news and the reality on the ground in Minsk and Moscow, but after the Kremlin’s Bushesque spin about the quagmire in afghanistan became so divorced from the soldier’s letters home, the institution that was the USSR eroded into nothingness, and no consequences could be impended on treason.
Like the Roman Empire, which ended up being but a cartographer’s doodle, people simply stopped being soviets. Like when John Lennon told Paul, “I aint no f’in beatle”. People just decide for themselves what they are when you remove the gleam from the institutional ivory towers.
Fortunately, in our country, we have a mechanism called elections that allows for the country itself to survive when the people lose faith in the spin.
That’s why Bush is finished. that’s why Newt Gingrich has totally separated himself from bush. Ginrich is like the Steve Bushemi character in “Reservoir Dogs”, who thought he could hide from the mexican standoff and massacre that ended the movie. he saw it coming and survived only to be nailed by the cops closing in on the hideout. Newt Gingrich might survive the political rinsing of the vestiges of neo-conism, but he’ll be nailed by the sentries of truth that are closing in on him, (the dirty little weasel-boy)

In my opinion, Duke University’s Reade Seligmann, 20, of Essex Fells, NJ, and Collin Finnerty, 19, of Garden City, NY and David Evans, a 23-year-old senior from Bethesda, Maryland should go to prison just like the untold number of Negroes that the system has falsely convicted. I’m sure the authorities can find some similar transactions in North Carolina. Try Essex Fells, Garden City, and Bethesda. We can clear many of our unsolved rapes by holding them responsible. There is no need to be concerned with the evidence. We have the power to send them to prison and they should go. Release them after having served thirty years in prison. They can face the American public via television and state whether or not they harbor any bitterness. We can then get them a job with MARTA or some similar corporation to show how compassionate we are as a nation.
After their unjust confinement, they should be compensated monetarily by the state through an emergency fund. It’s only fair according to our standards.

Duke U in the greater Raleigh/Durham area has a long distinguished history of class warfare and those people who can’t afford to live on the right side of the tracks. This case was a classic. We had some rich white boys from up Nawth who were going to show those dumb Southern demoncrats a thing or two in Durham. Those boys drive those BMWs and Audis with “W” stickers, and those people like that stripper who live on the wrong side of the tracks who drive beat up piles of smoking sht like a 1992 Honda Accord with a Kerry/Edwards sticker on it are jealous. *Those people have to get their revenge somehow, so they make up stories and go to the flaming p!ssed off class envy liberal demoncat from hell, DA Nifong.
Those rich white boys were lynched in the media before they even had a fair hearing. I doubt very seriously this case would have gained much fanfare if the alleged victim were a rich white chick from a privileged uppity New Yawk family. But mention racial and class inequalities, and you have a media hell storm, even before the freaking facts are out. But that DA was sure going to show them rich white boyz a thing or two about how to treat those people from the other side of the tracks. I hope he gets the hell sued out of him and the state of NC pays for it all. In any event, those rich white boyz are now going to be even richer with all the book deals and possible movie deal. Ain’t that a b!tch you jealous class warfare liberal neoMarxists?
Disclaimer: *Those people herein above two paragraphs is not reflective of any specific race.
Another major United States Navy Vessel gets named after a Republican president. Let’s see, that’s three for three now! A nuclear sub didn’t deserve to be named after Jimmy Carter’s candyass. The limpwristed liberal demoncat terrorist/dictator lover should have only had his name on a C.A.I.R. building. In any event, poor old Sick Willie will never have anything named after him from a federal standpoint with OUR taxpayer dollars. YOUR taxpayer dollars going to the military industrial complex with Republican names. Ain’t that a b!tch liberals? Heh.
“The focus always should be toward pushing parents to make decisions and accept responsibility.”
Ah yes, making personal decisions and accepting responsibility. That used to be the norm before the disease of liberalism and socialism crept into this nation’s policies. In any event, according to Pelosinanni and Shrillary, we Americans are too stoopid to raise our own children. Pelosinanni can run the nation and take care of our kids all on one freaking hand. Shrillary can speak from the Village Town Hall Gazebo and The Village raises our children. Our kids are being brainwashed in the liberal neoStalinist fascist concentration camps known as public education. Not long ago I posted a link where a girl was asked how people got their money; her answer was the government gives it to them. This is the sickness and warped thinking that must be reversed in this nation.
Visa tracking? That damned Bush and his privacy violations! The very idea! Of course, the second a dirty bomb goes off in San Freaksicko (Allah willing) what’s the first thing these candyassed limpwristed liberals are going to scream? BUSH DIDN’T DO ENOUGH TO STOP IT!!! Meh, I don’t pay attention to what the assbandits on the left b!tch about anymore. Meaningless. Useless. Worthless.
Voter ID? I have yet to hear one liberal ‘splain to me how in the hell showing an ID is voter or racial intimidation. These same jackals don’t wet their beds about having to show a freaking ID when writing a check or buying booze. These same jackass liberal neoStalinists don’t get their pretty pinko panties in a wad when having to show an ID to get a car tag. The correlation on why they b!tch about Voter ID while not b!tching about other ID whipouts is as straight as a San Freaksicko waiter. No, the real reason is because they know their shoe-ins for demoncat votes: dead votes, felon votes, repeat votes… the cesspool of their voter bloc.
Dirty Harry “Mr. Sin City Land Shiester Don’t-Tell-Congress” Reid and Nancy “$3/hr Canned Tunalegs” Pelosivich talking about earmarks and ethical oversights is a farce. The asspirates on the left are in power now, and everything they promised on “The Most Ethical Congress In History” have been flushed down the toilet to the sewers of liberalism. Barney “Short Man Complex” Frank can’t even keep his filthy RAT sewer shut long enough for a Republican to get a word in on the Floor. Filthy RAT vermin.
Paper DOES kill. The New York Slimes and Washington comPost have done more to damage our efforts in fighting islamofascism than ever. Every time Osama or that other islamotowelhead gets on TV, they regurgitate nearly word for word OpEds in those liberal hellhole rags.
Not only will we eventually have funerals for mink coats, we’ll eventually be able to marry them. The disease of liberalism will eventually grant mink coats rights too, right after they grant bestiality marriage rights to animals. After all, animals are people too. Sick.

Dear Readers:
Because of the language and lack of respect shown to others by users of this blog, I am leaning toward requiring users to use their names and verifiable contact information before posts are displayed.
While I am a firm believer in free discourse, this blog has deteriorated into being simply coarse.
There is a long tradition in newspapering of using language fit for a general audience. The comments posted here violate that worthwhile tradition.
Until a final decision is made, I beg you to please post responsibly. Passion can be expressed without filthy language. Thank you for your consideration.

Your intellectually dishonest post blatantly displays leftist vermin’s high regard for mohammedan thugs. The demoNcrat controlled congress will undoubtedly snigger and rabidly dismantle everything that Bush has rightfully done to keep this country safer. Leftist morons such as yourself glibly refuse to recognize the cowardly and reptilian nature of politicians like Jackasson, Sharptongue, chappaquiddick Kennedy and Pelosibitch whom you so adore.

I merely replicate the intellectually dishonest bollocks that they proffer and throw it back at them. Dear Julia @ 11:38, your choice of language offends me. I am reasonably certain that I have posted nothing coarse – pointed maybe, but not coarse. I think that is also true of most of our regulars. There is admittedly a second thread on the blog that gets pretty wild, but for most of us I think there is no language unfit for a general audience.

I wish you would institute the changes you mention.
Question though. You’re really surprised? What has Mr. Wooten done to foster civil discourse? It’s rare for his columns to be anything more than partisan rants.
I recall his column where he announced this forum and his excitement in its prospects. What I see however is very little interaction. He drops a bomb then apparently sits back and watches the effects.
I realize the Bookman Q&A sessions are fewer in number and a different type of forum. At least in his, he will stick around, listen to opposing views and respond.
There are some posters here who at least make an attempt. Unfortunately there are far more who do nothing more than call names and Mr. Wooten is more often than not MIA.

Danish,
it is quite naive to (perhaps) think that the vast majority of lefties take ANY meaningful notice of any points made on here. Regardless of how polite or reasonable the tone. That rather beguiling notion seemingly reflects your own desired approach and/or (cyber) persona.
Making the exact same points I do in a slightly less pugnacious tone would NOT have any effect on dishonest dissemblers like Joey et al. When he and others on here actually start to similarly decry the left for their everyday anti-GOP bile and unremitting, irrational Bush hate on here, then maybe I’ll take note.

it’s almost unbelievably funny how the right-wing nutjobs on here (and i’ll say this here, not all republicans are crazy, a majority aren’t - but things are just different here in the south) seem to believe that no “lefties” work. and yet they’re here, at 10 am on a Friday morning (which, I can’t remember, I’m a leftie, is a work day I think??) posting on a freaking BLOG on the AJC!
When will these crazies realize that NOT EVERYONE LIVES THE SAME LIFE YOU DO. PEOPLE WORK DIFFERENT HOURS, THEY WORK FROM HOME, THE OWN THEIR OWN BUSINESSES, ETC so they aren’t just unemployed morons. Because me, a “leftie” I work to cure Cancer in a lab supported by several millions of dollars worth of funding. So, when you’re dying of idiocy and your suburb diet of Chili’s and casserole, don’t come crying to me - this isn’t “work” apparently.. because I have a differen political idology than you, right?
as far as the duke case - I agree that Nifong should go - handled almost as badly as could be. but to say he did it because he’s a leftie and not just a publicity w*******, that’s moronic. what’s even more moronic you may ask? i say the mother of one of the accused who said, and I quote, “what’s so scary about this is how boys can have their lives ruined so quickly, and mothers should be aware of what can happen” i say, “mothers should be more scared that their 19 year old kids are drunk at a party with strippers putting themselves in these situations.
take responsibility for some of it - you aren’t an angel (ohh.. wait.. yes you are, you’re republicans! republicans are saved by jesus, democrats who reform are just waiting to fall back to vice!!!)

Sorry to disappoint you but I am not a leftist. I do not believe in open ended commitments, whether they be social or military in nature. I also do not believe in giving unchecked power to anyone (unless of course that person has demonstrated the ability to walk on water).
I support a strong defense but I believe in judicious use of military power. There is a lot of truth to the saying “you catch more flies with honey than vinegar”.
Invading Iraq was not a judicious use of our military power. It was a classic example of hubris on the part of this administration. It also detracted from Afghanistan (and our “friend” Pakistan), where the people who attacked us were and probably still are.
Then again, if being against the war in Iraq makes me a leftist in your eyes, I will be glad to consider Pat Buchanan and Chuck Hagel fellow leftists.

Hi Jim,
Sorry to see that you’ve let your own supporters ruin the spirit of your blog. How many references to self-flagellation were you going to allow before saying something? How many strident personal attacks are enough?
This blog is filthy; I wouldn’t want my name on it as it currently exists, but I’d be fine using my real name if it were moderated. In fact, I think it would be an interesting little research project for some budding young reporter over there to analyze the content of the posts from those who support you most ardently vs. those who take issue with your stances.
We all know what the results would be, but it’d be nice to see them affirmed.
And now that I think about it, this blog is really a metaphor for society in general…when people know they are being watched, or when there is accountability, they will typically behave and play well with others. If they feel that they are unmonitored or can somehow supress accountabiltiy, they will lie, cheat, steal and abuse others until someone comes in and has to clean it up.
Cheers Julia!
Good luck cleaning up your nasty sandbox Jim. I hope it works out.

Afternoon all,
It’s been a while since I’ve been on, but I wanted to chime in briefly on what I’ve noticed and have previously commented on regarding the tone in this blog.
Jim, if you recall, there was a discussion several months ago about imposing some sort of accountability to the posters on here in the hopes this blog would not devolve into the crass name calling forum that sadly predominates. Little if anything was done.
As a result, whether it’s to the right or left, there’s relatively little “thinking” going on, absent a few faithful regulars. Most others simply spew out vitriolic bile that is only considered “clever” or “shrewd” by those who are inclined to disagree.
TFTT rails against the alleged troll on this site who has misappropriated his/her/it’s ID, but the fact is, I honestly can’t tell the difference sometimes. I see senseless namecalling which does not move the discussion forward and only serves to undermine the credibility of the writer, and simply scroll to the next post. I imagine others do the same, which kind of results in a waste of Andy/TFTT’s time. But I do admit it is his time to waste.
My point? We have global issues (Iraq, terrorism, global warming, regional instability, trade), national issues (economy, health care, social net programs, infrastructure, 2008 elections, military concerns), and local issues (education, tax reform, economy, legislature, renaming Cynthia McKinney Parkway while preserving the roads/buildings named after secessionists/segregationists, etc.) that should take priority over how many different and clever ways you can call someone who has an ideological difference of opinion an idiot.
Jim, if you want real discourse to return to your once interesting blog, something needs to be done. I know your traditional point has been that no controls are necessary, open discussion is a good thing, and that the knuckleheads will eventually bow out of the market of genuine discussion. Unfortunately, the opposite has clearly happened. How many people who made decent contributions have disappeared, while a select few tend to poison what was once fertile grounds for debate?
We’ll be hearing Bush’s SOTU address next week, where he gives his vision (or version) of how it goes in the world and the nation. I think it’s time you did a State of The Blog assessment and determined if what we have is really what you wanted, and what best serves the subscribers.
PS. Good to see you’re still around, jbmlaw. As usual, I still disagree with most of what you say past “good morning, all,” but at least you have something worthwile to contribute. Same goes for CO and MSP. Liberal, Realist, RetiredLTC and others, you voices are missed. That means you too, Barbara. :^)

Julia Wallace,
Your motives are laudable, but I fear a registration system will do nothing to restore civility to this blog. Many of the worst offenders have multiple e-mail accounts and mailing addresses, and shutting down the privileges of one ID will merely give birth to another.
Perhaps a better screening system for posts would be more effective. A post that contributes little to further debate on a topic should be rejected out of hand. It is, believe me, frustrating to express thought on an issue only to encounter the riposte “pinko observer.” I suppose I should be grateful that I don’t encounter the even worse epithets thrown at some contributors who do not share Wooten’s political philosophy. If only conservative points of views are to be tolerated on his blog, he should say so at the outset.

“CARACAS, Venezuela — Venezuela’s National Assembly gave initial approval Thursday to a measure that would let President Hugo Chavez enact laws by decree for 1 1/2 years, a key step in what the leftist calls an accelerating march toward socialism.”

If I may interject, your suggestion is completely impractical. I dont’ think the AJC wants to hire a full time Pravda blog nanny, and I certainly don’t want you deciding what has merit and what doesn’t.
Believe me, I have had many personal attacks lobbied in my direction (“liberal pinko” is mild in comparison) and I am theoretically on Wooten’s side of the aisle, so the insinuation that opposing views are being silenced is false.

I can honestly say that although there are people whose views differ from mine, that they are still classy when they either dispute my ideas or try to disprove them.
They don’t resort to hideous name calling, (a little name calling on this blog is expected), racial baiting, or being downright nasty. In the past I would bite back at them with equally nasty posts, (the “how to beat the school bully at his own game” mentaliity); but what was so heartening to me, and made me more apt to listen to their opinions and posts, was when Buy Danish and jbmlaw, (who are NOT one of my admirers; believe me), and a few others stood up for me.
That made a big impression on me — because they don’t like my stances or some of my opinions; but they were “classy” enough, (can’ think of a better word than that), to know the difference between a debate and a character assassination and just outright putrid hatred. There’s hope for this blog because of people like them. Classy people.

DDR,
I think you’re confusing URL’s with IP addresses, but it still isn’t that simple to block someone. Someone can use a proxy server that will let them hide their own IP address and you don’t have to have a static IP address even if you don’t use a proxy server. In fact many providers are using a pool of dynamic IP addresses because they don’t have enough static IP addresses to go around.

I said “take meaningful notice” not that they “don’t pay attention”. By meaningful notice I of course (obviously) meant they actually concede factual/reasoned points made by the right. Very very few , if any on here do that - and if they do concede the odd point they still never seem to then logically modify their positions after such exchanges. In other words its essentially a complete waste of time debating/bantering with them. They either simply ignore solid, irrefutable points made, gloss over or minimise them, twist things or just simply attack the centre-right. Each to their own of course.
I agree we on the right might very occasionally adopt an astute, slightly dismissive stance to their posts… but generally we trash their arguments with reasoned argument/facts etc … my point is simply overall its pretty much a waste of time seriously engaging them. Especially given the leftists’ endless, endless repetition of Bush hate. Iraq bollocks etc…
maggot brain’s unremitting sloganising propoganda and obsessive lies etc about Bush, and moron rod’s systematic dishonest idiocy being just two of many glaring examples.

“VICTORY FOR BUSH:
A forthcoming Iraqi bill – essentially drawn up by the Bush administration – will “radically redraw the Iraqi oil industry and throw open the doors to the third-largest oil reserves in the world.”
Yes IC,
This is the biggest fraud and theft in world history. Investigations will lead to accountability for this fraud and theft.
Class action lawsuits should be filed for the Iraqi people and Americans damaged by these crimes.

IC: I read your article, (a quote from it):
The new bill will “radically redraw the Iraqi oil industry and throw open the doors to the third-largest oil reserves in the world,” says the paper, whose reporters have seen a draft of the new law. “It would allow the first large-scale operation of foreign oil companies in the country since the industry was nationalized in 1972.” If the government’s parliamentary majority prevails, the law should take effect in March
My question is, with the civil unrest in Iraq, how will this supposed ammendment prevail? The ammendment is probably not worth the paper it’s written on.

@ Time for the Truth
I have feverishly enjoyed the relentless id “stalking” of the venomous reptilian time for the truth over these past few days. Whilst he truly and glibly believes that his style and prose of verbal pugilism is unique and superior, he fails to recognise the blindingly obvious fact this he is really not so brilliant.
He proffers endlessly how I may have copied and pasted a few past entries and such bollockschop, but what this sad pathetic piece of tory afterbirth doesnt recognise is that this is all free-hand. Since his style and British/cockney dialect is so unique, he is the easiest mark on the blog.
The insidious venomous language that I hurl is everything that he has said in the past. He has berated Debbie Do Right in the past and labeled her a blackwhore, he didn’t have the respect on MLK Day to refrain from referring to the man as a serial adulterer with the intent of subtly demeaining the man’s importance. His opinions are baseless and scathing. And lest we not forget, that his abuse of others is unrelenting.
What’s even more shameful is that he has never been held accountable for the poisonous rubbish that he spews! Well look in the mirror and see what you’ve created bubbaturd!
I have gleefully and successfully managed to goad and wind up our favorite English troll quite a few times over the past week including the spectacular meltdown this morning at 10.37.
I didnt spend a lot of time learning your style…it was blindingly obvious already. Also, contrary to what some believe, I didnt waste my time and sacrifice any time away from my daily responsibilities and errands. The opportunity to make a wanking a__hole cry presented a brilliant opportunity and a very glorious opportunity it was indeed!
Time for the truth…you are a filthy piece of trash who has no business spewing their hate on the Internet. Others manage to engage in debate in a more civilised form whilst you elect to slither in the mud and remain a dodgy, vile snake.
Cheers to you wanker! Now F*ck off!!!

Dear Atlantajan @ 1:46, it is seemingly important to you that Democrats get “credit” for passing an ethics bill, rather than analyzing the dynamic behind what was passed. I understand that after 12 years in electoral wasteland you desperately need a win, even if ugly or meaningless.
Until the democrats changed the law in 1977, there was no need for such “ethics” legislation, because presidents – for almost 200 years - would simply impound wasteful spending. The democrats passed a law that compels the executive to spend whatever wasteful spending they legislate, thus the spending explosion that eventually crippled the Carter administration. I respectfully suggest that you would have no need for such an ethics bill if the executive had the long-traditional power to impound – then the executive could be responsible for spending. As is, only Congress can be blamed for spending excess. I think the electorate properly rebuked the big spender republicrats in 2006, but I believe today we are likely to see a similar rebuke of big-spending democrats, perhaps as soon as 2008.
You also disparage Hatch and Coburn for their votes against the “ethics” bill. Please understand that an honest person does not need rules – the rules are needed only for crooks. Hatch and Coburn are perhaps the cleanest men in Congress; if anything, their votes cause me to assume something is wrong with the law.

Or it might mean that the Iraqi government needs to raise capital. Cold hard cash would go a long way toward bringing Iraq back from the rubble. THis infussion of cash could aid the rebuilding of the country and arming thier military and police.

I can understand that part, it’s just the part where the article states that Dubya is going to enter into a “contract” for a better word with an administration that, though they’re in power now, their political future is uncertain. My point was how could Dubya expect to reap any benefits from a country that’s on the verge of meltdown?
The only way this would work is if the plan was not a long term investment sort of thing, but a short term windfall. Meaning, Dubya is betting on staying in the “market” so to speak only a few months, reap the benefits, and then pull all the US troops out of Iraq.

As a pharmacist that reads “hen scratching” and electronic trasmitted prescriptions, I can say that many more errors are made on the electronic prescriptions than hand written. Probably because either non-pyhsicians are inputing the data, or busy physicians input it wrong. We, as pharmacists, review and contact the physican if an error is detected. As for the pushing for more electronic prescribing, I think the real question is who is paying for all of this? Why are they willing to provide it at no charge? Pharmacetical benefits managers (PBM’s) make a forturne from drug manufactures to steer the manufacturer’s product onto a ‘preferred formulary’. They are paid a rebate for each prescription dispensed on their plan. The electronic prescribing web site is one more step where the PMB can intercept the prescription and have the physcian change it to the ‘preferred drug’.
You will be hearing more about how electronic prescribing will reduce errors, or save money, or streamline the health care delivery system, —- but the bottom line is —there is money to be made, and they are willing to spend big bucks upfront to provide this system at no charge to guarantee that they get it.

I have been reading about Iraq since w decided to cut and run from the enemy in Afghanistan trying to figure out the real reason why he invaded and occupied a country that had nothing to do with 9/11.
“From those earliest days until now, throughout all the twists and turns, the blood and chaos of the occupation, the Bush administration has kept its eye on this prize. The new law offers the barrelling buccaneers of the West a juicy set of production-sharing agreements (PSAs) that will maintain a fig leaf of Iraqi ownership of the nation’s oil industry - while letting Bush’s Big Oil buddies rake off up to 75 percent of all oil profits for an indefinite period up front, until they decide that their “infrastructure investments” have been repaid. Even then, the agreements will give the Western oil majors an unheard-of 20 percent of Iraq’s oil profits - more than twice the average of standard PSAs, the Independent notes.”
Its a win win situation if you read the whole article but what really stands out is w’s interview with Pelly and his gotch, gotcha, gotcha comment and smirk.
It is very obvious for those paying attention.

(This is a long one folks, but I am about FED UP with the liberals on this blog.
Well here we go again. Liberals (especially those who won’t admit that which they are) are wetting their beds here and attempting fascist policies of controlling what’s said on this blog (within reason) up to and including having people banned. About every two months or so liberals start wetting their beds on this blog and complain about the postings (those fact things that make the left look bad don’t sit well with liberals I suppose, that’s why I’m just cowardly called stupid and ID-jacked instead of actually addressing what I post). There is no civil intellectual representation from the left on this blog, just pseudo-intellectual liberals who think they are smart and attack you personally when you post something they don’t agree with.
Liberals (you know who you are) say they want the plug pulled on me and others as _ said @__. They say TFTT is out of control while conveniently ignoring the obvious sabotage of his ID by our resident liberal ID jacker and using the guise that they can’t tell the real TFTT from the jacker who thinks he’s posting like TFTT (what a clever liberal… like a five-year old). They say the language and tone of this blog from we Conservatives is out of line while conveniently ignoring past and current evils of very personal attacks on we Conservatives by liberals:
Our families and characters have been targeted for personal attacks; TFTT’s life was indirectly threatened by one of the multiple ID liberal sickos with a comment of “someone should slit TFTT’s throat…”. They tried it with jbmlaw several months ago when questioning his personal and professional life and they failed; they have tried character assassinations on Conservatives on this blog in the hopes that person would just go away in embarrassment and they failed (no, we’re not spineless candyasses like liberals… we can take it); they have posted with graphic and disgusting sexual innuendo language in attacks on Conservatives (Markus’ ”c^m-filled a^s”).
No, it’s the LEFT that has posted the most disgusting things on this blog. Why Wooten allows those disgusting pigs here is beyond me. All of these shenanigans by the liberals on this blog are to drag it down and bring we Conservative bloggers down one by one. They don’t want us to speak out. They want to silence us. They vehemently despise what we stand for and say. In any event, listening to the left on this blog whine about what Conservatives do here is laughable. They are the biggest violators here. They are nothing but a bunch of big overgrown bedwetting babies who if they can’t get their way of control and domination of thought, they attempt to destroy. How effin’ tolerant of them.
The left says they are all for freedom of expression and ideas; they say they are all for diversity of opinions; they say everyone has a right to speak his or her voice. Oh REALLY? Then perhaps one of you wallet thief liberals out there can ‘splain to me why you want AM talk radio shut down, conservative columnists like Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin shut up, Fox News (cute little “Feaux News” as it’s called by you overgrown bedwetting babies on the left) to go off the air, and blogs like this shut down as mentioned at the top. You people on the left are for free speech right up until that speech chaps your hide the wrong way.
I’ve seen this mentality for YEARS from you liberals on the left, so don’t EVEN pretend you have no clue what I’m saying. You know EXACTLY what I’m saying. You people are doing nothing but attempting to launch a sneak attack on controlling/quelling Conservative thoughts and expressions. You people just don’t have the GUTS to say what your true intentions are, just like your heroes in the Pelosivich party. Now ask me if I give a good damn what you people on the left think.
There, I feel better now.

I hope everyone did read the Emory article carefully. It talked about offering the aid to ADMITTED students. It can admit based on any (legal) criteria it wishes, including aid-neediness. I am not saying they will do this, but it would be interesting to see how many lower and middle class students have been admitted in the last 10 years, and then compare it with how many are admitted after the new f.a. policy goes into effect. Quite a few schools do not admit on a needs-blind basis, including some well-regarded ones. They protect their endowments. So, anyone know how many kids this policy would have affected this year out of the entering class?

So THIS is what all the hoopla is about regarding meteorologists and global warming. Threatening to pull the certification of meteorologists who deny global warming exists? Isn’t that a little like Hitler mentality, or a LOT like Hitler mentality? The interesting thing here is that as I have mentioned many, MANY times, there aren’t many people that deny global warming happens and is happening (the same for global cooling). We have ice ages ever 10,000 years for crying out loud. But what the simpleton jackass liberals can’t get through their tinfoil hat heads is that many just don’t believe MANKIND is causing global warming in the entirety. Letters to the Editor AJC:
Iraq war: Critics kill morale, but boost enemies - After listening to criticisms from the congressional Democratic leadership both before and after President Bush laid out the details of his plan to change the course in Iraq, I am totally convinced they want us to lose the war in Iraq for purely political reasons related to the 2008 national elections. For years, they have said our troop strength was too low. Now, they apparently think it is too high. They want to admit defeat via a cut-and-run approach. So if citizens can’t support the last and best hope to win in Iraq, remain silent. Otherwise they are simply encouraging the enemy to hang in there (as was the case in Vietnam) and degrading American troop morale.- JAY WAGNER, of Stone Mountain, is a retired Army colonel.

You know, I was thinking about Obama. What if he was an al queda mole planted here in the eighties? He could be our next prez, and he could possibly get our country involved in an unjustifiable war in a country located in the middle of a stinking desert……..oh yeah…..nevermind.
Clinton/Obama? Obama/Clinton?
I wonder how Diebold will stuff ballots in ‘08. The Repudlickans will probably only get like 37 votes, yet the neo-con media will show that it is too close to call, then they’ll hand it off to Scalia, who will appoint Newt Ginrich as pretzeldork.
I’m discovering that I really hate Joe Lieberman’s face. I used to think he was adorable.
Only two beatles left. Only one Mamas and Papas left. Why are all the stones still alive? I used to think that Brian Jones was the bomb, and that it was his songwriting that produced the Jumping Jack Flash/Paint-it-Black masterpieces. Wrong. Brian Jones was slow blues only (and jaz). I liked his stuff, but it was pale compared to Jagger/Richards. Keith Richards is a rock and roll genius, and how I ever doubted him…oh yeah, I stopped admiring him after the live album in which he played lead guitar really bad. My fraternity played that live stones album from the early 70’s every day for two years and I learned every misplayed riff by Richards. He was terrible. He must have really been stoned, man. The bogue brown acid rears it’s ugly head again, eh?

I look at the AJC newsbreaks everyday. I am still looking for those big names that were involved in the sugarloaf sex scandal. I find it hard to believe that these two people that the DA’s office has arrested are the only two that they know about. I have been looking at what it takes for Taylor just to get by in her lavish lifestyle. It makes no sense. Show me those businessmen, politicians, and sportsstars, that you are apparently protecting. The people of Gwinett County should be upset by the waste of the peoples money on this nonsense.Give us significant arrests or shut up.

The mantra, “I dont recall”, has become the legal equivalent of taking the fifth when giving testimony in court. Reagan started it, and who knew that he was telling the truth, he really didn’t recall any details of his own involvement in Iran Contra. (cause he couldn’t recall breakfast). Who knew. We suspected, but I never believed it, but now we all know, yet nobody says or does anything.
What are you all? Tin patriots? Somebody has to DO something.
iran contra. our boys have been clowning around with that country ever since we installed the Shah of Iran and overthrew the elected regime that was in place. There’s no free passes where foreign policy is concerned. The sins of the fathers.

Okay, the surge: we wont even be able to question Bush about it for a whole year, because it will take six months to get it rolling full time. Then, Bush can answer any questions or complaints by congress with, “Give it some time, it’s working, but nothing worthwhile is easy…just have a little patience”
So it will be the State of the Union, 2008 before W has to make any decisions about the next phase of this surge.
Cautionary note: 911 backwards is 119. Now, if you know anything about Osama Bin Laden, then you know that he is a Saudi Baby Boomer who is steeped in US cultural anomalies. Like the way US baby boomers used to play beatle records backwards to hear the devil say stuff, man. Anyway, Osama knows this so the date of the next 911 could be 119, jan 19th. Now, this is the 20th so we’re good for this year, but next year, which falls within one standard deviation from the 8 years between attacks on the world trade center, (1993-2001), next year is a possibility. SO I urge our homeland security to be aware of the possible lunatic thinking that OBL may implement to attack again.
Just doing my patriotic duty.

I went and gawked at the whale shark last summer. I noticed that it couldn’t really get swimming good and fast or do any power dives like a wild whale shark needs to do to stay healthy. Sharks need to blow it all out once in a while. So do whales. But whale sharks have to do it even more. If you look closely at most of the sharks in the Georgia Aquarium, they look like guppies in a little home fish bowl, and because you have to stand back to see everything, the actual size of the sharks is about the same as if you had your nosed pressed up against a goldfish bowl. the eyes would see about the same tiny monster.
So what’s the point? There isn’t one, except that Blank is like an Idiot when it comes to fish, or falcons.

I first heard the term, “rush to judgement”, during the OJ trial. Since then, every time a guilty guy wants to plead not guilty, the first thing out of his mouthpiece is “rush to judgement”.
What does that even mean? Nobody rushes to judgement. We arrest suspects as quickly as we can build a case against them. What?
The best book yet to be written is not the Duke University Rape Case. No, sir. The unwritten masterpiece is about how we miscommunicate. how we mislead each other with buzz words and rhymed slogans. The book’s conclusion has to be that man is a easily hypnotized, critical-thinking-challenged lemming who will follow any chanted motto straight to his doom, even if that man hears the motto wrong or thinks it means something that it doesn’t.

Well whaddya know? A leading psychologist journal has an article about the psych of ideology on Conservatives vs. liberals. If you don’t want to read the entire article, I’ll give you a Markus Notes version:
Conservatives and their children are stupid and gullible to mind manipulation and liberals and their children are free thinkers with open minds. Please, hold down the laughter folks. It’s still early.
What they left out: a libokook’s kid is more likely to sit around and smoke pot than a Conservative’s kid; a libokook’s kid is more likely to be disrespectful, anti-law, and anti-society norm than a Conservative’s kid.
On the other hand, a Conservative’s kid is better dressed, more respectful of authority, and more likely to be successful and make more money than a libokook’s kid; finally, a Conservative’s kid who plays football can kick a limpwristed libokook’s kid’s @ss who plays soccer.
http://www.psychologytoday.com/articles/pto-20061222-000001.html
An interesting side note is that there was not one mention in this liberal flamefest on why Conservatives are outbreeding liberals.

Watching the same couple of pathetic resident snivelling lefties constantly whine and bleat and sneer and abuse us superior thinking conservative folks with their compulsive numerous cowardly multi ids is enormously amusing.
These sad anal blubbering cowards sit there making up countless idiotic (blatantly obvious) new personas day after day to gutlessly try and attempt hide the fact there is really only a couple of socially inadequate obsessive pinko dogturds who are doing this. But us clear thinking GOP types intuitively know this bollocks is the work of a decided nutter or two - endlessly talking to itself and agreeing with itself.
The latest maggot to slither into view is this moronic dickwad “sam” … sammy the cretinous autistic performing marxist lite seal has about as much political nous and vision as a demented energiser puff adder.
Arguably the funniest thing of all though is, after being repeatedly told by yours truly that I have DELIBERATELY adopted a certain tone and persona on here - these leftist afterbirth scum still seek to effetely excoriate someone who is telling them, repeatedly, that they are simply being deservedly laughed at and sneered at by someone who is enjoying goading them HONESTLY. With no subterfuge, no dumbarse 100+ ids etc. Just an HONEST, factual, fair comment centre right verbal betch slapping, explicitly and selflessly delivered as and when its needed.
LEFTIES ARE undeniably knuckle dragging SCUM … their witless, narcissistic, cowardly childish intellectually dishonest antics on here evince this day after day after day after day after day.
Watch this simpering imbecilic deranged pinko fool that has been fawning at the cyber feet of the lefty hating resident English Tory drool all over its screen with orgasmic delight at the prospect of once more dismally replicating a far superior, utterly apposite mode of abuse. This worthless tick, this bedwetting worm, this grinning transexual liberal sewer rat will doubtless once again spew its bile, as it hilariously anally imposes its noxious drivel on the rest of us. This anal wanker will now wank all over its keyboard, ensuring its aborted foreskin is able to flaccidly drip its envious stinky poison for all of its insane multi ids to gush and slobber over.
Its almost worth asking the likes of the filthy Cuban w******* child molestor redneKKs NAMBLA to come back and stalk us some more … with its loathsome treasonous reptilian mental midget side kick, the inimitable Bush hating parrot maggot brain, the thuggish syphilitic Katrina refugee from a LA medicare run insane assylum.
Its good fun typing a witty post up whilst watching the Fox Football Channel 3pm GMT live game … Newcastle Utd are already two - nil down at home to a lively looking West Ham. Looks like Roeder the Geordies manager is gonna get sacked real soon.

Man this global warming thing must really be escalating.
But have a look at the video of her announcement. Rather than her “let’s chat” rap, please focus on the background. Look out the door. Presumably the announcement was shot in one of Hillary’s homes: Chappaqua or Georgetown. Now I know it’s been a mild winter, but even so, surely the leaves are gone from the trees and bushes in either spot. And check out the yellow spot in the bushes. At first I thought it was just a warm dapple of sunshine. But freeze the frame when, about 1/4 of the way through, Hillary says “how to end the deficits that threaten Social Security.” That’s not sunshine — those are flowers in bloom.

Global warming could cause global farming. Maybe canada will be the new bread basket. The wine country is moving north as the globe warms up. The best oranges are now grown in Iceland. Jim Wooten has proved beyond any doubt one firmly held conservative belief. That being that you get more of an activity that you reward. Of course it’s usually applied to cutting taxes to stimulate more economic activity and such.
Wooten used a different example and by rewarding Polly Prepuce he has indeed gotten more of that activity. It’s been proven so well that the name of this blog might as well be changed from Thinking Right to Polly’s Playpen.

The liberal cackling hens on The View are now wetting their panties over American Idol. Why? Because the judges are just too harsh. Waaaaaah. The world of liberalism says you can’t offend anyone. If you do, you should be shut the hell up. And to think these jackasses on the left call Conservatives “nazis.” Well, here’s another example of the disease of liberalism that’s infesting this nation and rotting it’s strength from the inside out.
“I don’t think America likes to watch people be ridiculed, made fun of, and called ugly monkeys, or that they’re too fat or they’re a degenerate… it’s an absurd concept that this is what’s tolerable now as consumption in America for mass media.”

The Iranians had been given the impression that the I-HAWKs'' (improved HAWKs) were capable of shooting down planes at high altitudes. They were not. To make matters worse, the missiles carried IsraeliStar of David” markings, which angered the Iranians. No hostages gained their freedom.”

While it is always pleasing to see new people visiting Wooten’s blog, it is obvious that some of them do not understand the rules for posting messages. For their benefit, I am providing a rudimentary list of rules by which their visits can become more enjoyable and less confusing:
Choose an ID that boosts your credibility while belying your true identity. For example, if you are a strident militarist who devoted most of your youth to avoiding military service, an ID like “Lt. Col.” Or “Retired Maj. Gen.” can help enhance your argument.
Never lend credibility to a publication or an individual with a philosophy opposed to your own. For instance, it is not the Atlanta Journal, but the Atlanta Urinal; never the New York Times, but the New York Slimes; never Fox News, but Faux News. Similarly, when you respond to an antagonist, label him/her with a variation on his/her own ID: “Commie citizen” instead of “Concerned citizen,” etc. If you refer to a hated politician, use a slur—Slick Willy for Bill Clinton, Dumbya for George W. Bush, etc.
Never give away your true occupation or lifestyle. If, for example, you are in life a lowly clerk in an insurance company, choose an ID like “Silk stocking lawyer.” If you are a low-life hillbilly racist, indicate you are English-born and educated, using English idioms you can pull out of the Dictionary of Slang. If you are a truck driver, indicate that you have command of a fleet of vehicles poised to obey your every command. If you barely eke out a living as a pawn shop owner, discuss your gated community and the extreme cost of maintaining your mansion, then bemoan the laziness of those with fewer possessions than your own.
Never respond directly to a well reasoned argument. Obfuscate instead. For example, if you respond to a post that accuses the president of lying to get us into the Iraq war, bring up Bill Clinton’s BJ in the White House as a response. Whatever you do, do not respond to a reasoned argument with a reasoned argument of your own. You will be banned from Wooten’s blog.
Use ID-jacking to your advantage. If a blogger posts an argument against which you have no logical response, post an utterly ridiculous message under that blogger’s ID, preferably one that places emphasis on the blogger’s “confessed” homosexuality and bestialty. On the other hand, if you discover after the fact that you have posted an utterly silly comment, post another message complaining that someone has hi-jacked your ID and made a silly comment.
Exaggerate your own situation in order to gain credibility. If you evaded the draft to avoid military service and now want to lay claim to great patriotic sentiment toward the Iraq war, mention a disabling and arcane illness as a reason for being unable to serve—a “pylondial cyst” will both baffle and shut up your opponents. On the other hand, you can point to the military service of your children as a credential to bolster your credibility.
These are the basic rules. You can learn more as you gain experience with Wooten’s blog. Welcome, and happy blogging.

Buy Danish I am a true Republican and conservative. Small government, stay out of the lives of the citizenry, and fiscal responsibility. All of which the present administration DOES NOT and HAS NOT advocated. Under this new breed of psuedo republican and psuedo conservative crowd not one tenet of republicanism or conservatism has been adhered to. And yes, true conservatives saw and recognized this and spoke loudly and clearly in the 06 election. I think maybe you should tell us in what way the present administration has adhered to the true conservatism of Barry Goldwater. And Buy Danish, the turnout for the last elections was no less than previous elections. If anyone stayed home, it was an intentional shot across the bow of a republican party that turned away from its basic tenets. Maybe they could not vote against the republican party, but they damn sure were not going to vote for it either. Buy Danish, it you and the .0001 percenters that have have no understnading whatsoever of what true conservatism or republicanism is. You lemmings played a major role in the demise of the party in 06. You are so far out of the mainstream that you scare the hell out of normal people. Nobody wants someone so far out on the fringe affecting their lives to any degree. Get used to it Buy Danish. I wonder why suddenly Mr. Bush has become conciliatory regarding domestic surveillance. This was not his stance prior to losing his bully pulpit. If it were so crucial then is it not now? Could it be that what he deemed legal and constitutional then is not so legal or constitutional in reality. And maybe he fears the ramifications of tight scrutiny into that issue. Makes one wonder.

One sure sign that Sam’s a phony is that no conservative would label the surveillance program as domestic. It’s always liberals that lie about the program and label it that way.
By the way, Sam the phony. The FISA court caved in to the Bush program and gave it their blessing. Kind of a neat trick on the administration’s part getting to have their program and take away the ability for you uber libs to claim it’s illegal.

Because you advocate big government, runaway deficits, and government intrusion into the lives of our citizenry. And you do that through your blind lemming like devotion to GW. You are dumb Buy Danish. When it is time to put it up you can’t. And obviously Buy Danish, you spend so much time on this blog that you obviously are not aware of GWs 180 on domestic surveillance. And it was not the FISA court that caved it was Alberto Gonzalez interpreting the law the way GW wanted him to. Now GW has flip flopped. He knows that Gonzalez’s interpretation will not stand up if challenged bu the new congress. And why pray tell Danish are republicans in the congress and senate running away from your brand of conservatism and GW as fast as they can?

SPOTLIGHT ON: JORDAN: Public sentiment turns against U.S Bush’s policy, war in Iraq are sources of anger
A photo under this headline, which you have to buy the Urinal to see, shows a group of males mugging for the camera with the angle of the picture shot to make appear that there are more of them, there are no woman shown because Islam doesn’t allow them to voice their opinions and there is an effigy of Uncle Sam being burnt, a dummy with an American flag that is inscribed with the words “Defend Freedom.”
We can’t have that “Freedom,” now can we?
And guess who’s fault all of this is?
Cut to Madame Dullard’s column:
“Therein lies our profound difficulty. There is absolutely no chance for “victory” or “success” in Iraq at this late date, little chance in even averting disaster. What is done cannot be undone. There is no way forward.” (I guess it still nighty-night for the perverts at the AJC, as of 7:34 they still haven’t posted the Sunday online edition. I have no link.)
The AJC has posted a picture (see above) that shows that the Middle East is already a “disaster,” regardless of the conditions in Iraq, but the libs could care less, they don’t give a rat’s as-s that Jordan is an oppressive society where women have no say in the government’s affairs, because that would blow their chance to blame it all on America.
Blaming America is all these guilt tripping cowards care about doing,
These pinko liberals are too stupid to realize that their blatant bald faced Anti American whining, their fabricated stories and their fake pictures, only serve to illustrate how wrong they are and how courageous George W Bush is for trying to bring freedom and liberty to the Middle East.
And how spineless liberalism is for wishing that he fails.
“There is absolutely no chance for “victory” or “success” in Iraq at this late date, little chance in even averting disaster.”
I know Madame Dullard put scare quotes around the words victory and success because she knows that the United States won’t fail; this leaves her an excuse next year to whine and harp that all those free self governing Iraqis are really just slaves to American imperalism, or some such bullsh!t, that it may appear to be a “victory” but it really isn’t.
It’s the small things that tell you what a liberal really means and Cynthia has told us that she wishes America would fail because Bush sucks.
In so many words.

The Democrats also bear plenty of responsibility… for politicizing a foreign policy debate that should have stopped at our shoreline. Their well-intended but unrestrained, emotional, often hyperbolic effort to prove the president wrong on Iraq will help defeat us as surely as a setback on the battlefield. Soon we may see a vote in Congress that says, “We can’t stop the surge plan, but we don’t support it.” All such statements demoralize the troops, devalue their sacrifices, and embolden the enemy to kill them. This will surely have a lifelong effect on our Iraqi war veterans. The authors have not forgotten the pain Americans inflicted on Vietnam era veterans by blaming them for the war itself. Make no mistake — like our Vietnam war veterans, our Iraq war veterans will never forget the lack of commitment to prevail should we lose this war.

Getting back on topic, and also back into the realm of planet earth, (twilight zone theme music here for dullardboy), we might not ever throw a wake for mink coats, but we do owe a eulogy for all those millions of racoons (coonskin caps) inspired by Disney’s Davey Crocket tv series in the 1950’s.
Millions of baby boomers wore the tails of racoons. My family was poor, and we couldn’t buy one, but I was lucky. I lived in Texas. Roadkill was always fresh, and I had a small cottage industry selling racoon tails from a roadside stand to passersby who wanted to make their own coonskin caps.
But I never felt sorry for, or mourned the poor racoons. I regret my actions.
As for Iraqis, let them find their own racoons.

Your about face on troop strenght makes you look like pee wee herman trying to take it all in at a goat porn convention)

Polly: You believe your ideas are “original” because no one else agrees with you. Well, actually, no one even understands you but that’s a subject for another day.
People telling you to STFU does not make you a deep thinker or a “pioneer.” They honestly just don’t want to hear your sh!t anymore.
As for me, I constantly find other people that totally agree with my opinions and post their words as proof of my beliefs. I can even find democrats that agree with me, and most of the dissenting opinions I show them to be anti American petty partisan bullsh!t.
And you know I’m right. Nothing I’ve ever said has changed, not a damn lick since 9/11/01, kill the terrorists, bring freedom to the Middle East, America wins.
You libs, on the other hand, have flopped around like fish, whatever Bush decides you will be opposite of that, sided up with Al Qaeda in most cases. If you see strength in this position, if you can live with wishing defeat for your own country, then go for it, it’s a free country.

For instance:
“Do you personally want the Iraq plan President Bush announced last week to succeed?” And here’s how the American people answered: 63 percent said yes, 22 percent said no, 15 percent said they didn’t know. Let me see if I understand that. For four years, regardless of this or that position on the merits of the war, almost everybody has claimed to “support our troops.” Some of us have always thought that ”supporting the troops” while not supporting them in their mission is not entirely credible. But here we have 37 percent of the American people actually urging defeat on them. They ”support our troops” by wanting them to lose. This isn’t a question about whether you think the plan will work, but whether you want it to work. And nearly 40 percent of respondents either don’t know or are actively rooting for failure.

* Just Heard on CNN News*
In a related story, Ron Mexico (aka. Mike Vick) has just announced who will defend him for his upcoming drug trial slated for later this month in Miami. It a shocking chain of events, Johnny Cochran is being dug up and airlifted in what is being called “Dream Team II”. Assisting Johnny on this high profile case will be other well known reverse recist Jesse Jackson, Cynthia McKinney, Rev Al Sharpton, F. Lee Bailey, Spike Lee and OJ.
The Cochran Law firm has indicated that Johnny will plan to “Pull Out The Race Card” on the first day of court and clearly show that as a black athlete Ron and most corrupt black athletes who emulate “Gangsters” and “Gang Bangers” are not required to follow the same laws as the rest of society. Johnny will show that Ron had a rough life and cannot be responsible for infecting innocent women with herpes, allowing his friends to carry/use drugs in a car registered to him, have multiply children out of wedlock, partying at hip-hop clubs all hours of the night during the NFL season, giving the fans the finger, dressing representing the NFL & the Falcons as a gangster rap star in the public eye, running with posse members who have criminal records, and always having to bail Marcus out of jail.
As a “role model” to kids. Ron is Superman, not Superfly!!. Its ok to tell kids drugs are good, breaking the laws & rules of society are fun, and it’s “Cool” and “Hip” to dress up and act like Gang Bangers, Graffiti Artist, Rappers and Thugs (those who spill blood & spread violence in our neighborhood.
“If the thug image don’t fit, than you must acquit”
In a surprising move Johnny will introduce to the stand the following “Character Witnesses” to show that Ron has high morals, character, and represents his team and the NFL as a total professional on and off the field. He will show that Ron has the up most respect for the game and to all those who preceded him.
This list of well known and respected citizens will include, but not limited to: Josh Smith, Terrell Owens, Dennis Rodman, Randy Moss, Charles Barkley, Ron Artest, Whiney Houston, Bobby Brown, Ray Lewis Flavor of Love, Carmelo Anthony, Eminem, Queen Latifah, Kanye West, Darryl Strawberry, Snoop Dogg, Ice T, Allen Iverson, Michael Irvin, Ricky Williams, Tim Robbins, members of the Ziggy Marley band, P-Funk, Terrance Moore, Barry Bonds, Cheech and Chong, Ted Kennedy, Vanialla Ice and a special appearance by Marcus Vick (wearing ankle braclets).
Videos of Tupac Skakur, Mizelli and Notorious BIG will be shown during opening and closing statements for the defense.
In another developing story, CNN has reported that the Miami-Dade County DA office is compiling a list of “Character Witnesses” themselves that will show no matter what the color of your skin is, A Person must be held responsible for their actions in society and how one chooses to represent themselves to the public eye.
This list includes but is not limited to: Tiger Woods, Bill Lester, Hank Aaron, Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, Terry Holt, Marvin Harrison, UN President Annan, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Oprah, Warren Dunn, Senator Obama, Doug Williams, Bill Cosby, Steve McNair, Donovon McNabb, Carl Lewis, Mike Singletary, Deacon Jones, Sylvester Crooms, Lovie Smith, Michael Jordan, Denzall Washington, Lynn Swann, Jerry Rice, Serena Williams, Tony Dungy, Mark Jackson, Desmond Howard, Isaiah Thomas, Grant Hill, Derrick Jeter, Edwin Moses, Bo Jackson, Barry Sanders, Reggie Miller, Oscar Roberson, Ali and Jackie Joyner-Kersee.

By Wooten Dull @9:41 a.m., tries to make the tired and failed conservative right-wing arguement that anyone who does not support Bush is not supporting the troops. This limited viewpoint is now, as it was the first time it was ever made, a lame, pitiful way to look at our current mess in Iraq and of supporting our troops.
Bush is one person. He is not now, nor has he ever been, nor will he ever be, a member of the troops.

Ron Miller,
You lost me with part 2 when you introduced Kofi Annan and others as “character witnesses”.
WootenDull,
Thanks for the Steyn of coffee. Between the poll results and this, I am wide awake:
The madrassah stuff was supposedly leaked to Insight Magazine by some oppo-research heavies on Hillary Rodham Clinton’s team. Which if true suggests that Hillary’s losing her touch. It’s certainly the case that a foreign education doesn’t always assist in electoral politics: John Kerry didn’t play up the Swiss finishing school angle. But look at it from a Democratic primary voter’s point of view, the kind who drives around with those ”CO-EXIST” bumper stickers made up of the cross and the Star of David and the Islamic crescent and the peace sign. Your whole world view is based on the belief that deep down we’d all rub along just fine and this neocon fever about Islam is just a lot of banana oil to keep the American people in a state of fear and paranoia. What would more resoundingly confirm that view than if the nicest, most non-bitter, nonpartisan guy in politics turns out to have graduated from the Sword of the Infidel Slayer grade school in Jakarta?

22% said NO
15% said they don’t know
Yet Dennis, the school teacher, says those people are supporting the troops. I won’t go so far as to add the 15% into the number since they may be too ignorant to come in out of the rain, but 22% of those surveyed said they want the plan to fail!

The difference is in how you ask the question(s). To want Bush (the plan)to fail is one viewpoint, to want the troops to fail is another, and the two are not synonymous as you and others want it to be.

Well, I am willing to commit our troops for 30 more years, because I love this country. Besides, they have important stuff to do there.
“Crucially, the proposed Iraqi hydrocarbon law, currently circulating as a 33-page draft, would give exploration and development rights to foreign oil companies such as Exxon Mobil, Chevron, BP and Shell—possibly for up to 30 years. And in the early stages of such exploitation (in every sense of the word), these companies would, under the proposed law, be allowed to take up to 75 percent of resulting oil profits, until they decide that their infrastructure investments have been repaid. Even afterwards, these companies could still take oil profits as high as 20 percent from Iraqi revenues. All of which casts such memorable Bush Bunch claims as “We did not do it [i.e., invade Iraq] for oil” (Colin Powell, July 10, 2003) in an ironic new light.”
Profits make me happy.

By Dennis January 21, 2007 10:15 AM By Wooten Dull @9:41 a.m., tries to make the tired and failed conservative right-wing arguement that anyone who does not support Bush is not supporting the troops.
Only a true dullard can’t separate their mindless drooling hatred of George W Bush from the fact the he is the Commander In Chief of our Armed Forces and rooting against his plan is rooting against the troops, plain and simple.
It’s a basic comprehension issue we’re dealing with here, liberals just don’t get it.
In a sane, lucid world one would not have to explain that it is not normal to root against the very country that you live in.
It’s proof positive that you can’t take even the most obvious things for granted, you cannot assume anything, that once the human mind starts down the road to perversion that soon enough there will be no limits to their depravity.
It’s not like these surrender monkey deviants have anything better to offer, it’s just obstruction, criticism and treasonous back stabbing for them, taking the easy way out all the while sniping at the real men who protect the very freedoms that they abuse every day.
When are we going to get tired of their sh!t?

Our own Cynthia Tucker was on Chris Mathews this morning. What a babe, and she stole the show, made the most incisive remarks and got alot of laughs too. Lovin’ Cynthia Tucker!
Sen Brownback (R-Kan),was on “this Morning”, and he thinks Iraq should be three independent states. He also said that we need “more, bigger, stronger families, well, not bigger, but more big…er…stronger families,”. (oh, he’s a great candidate). Then Brownback went and recited the same data that Wooten Blogged about in Sunday’s AJC, about single parent families, which makes me suspect that the Repudlickan Party issues talking point memos to the dittohead media parrots. (basically they order that the Wootens out there can talk about anything but Iraq).
But the main event this morning was McCain vs Kennedy. McCain speaks only to predictions about hypothetical consequences of redeploying and politically compromising in Iraq. All of his predictions about Iraq for the last four years were 100% wrong, yet he will only offer more predictions about options available to the US now. He will not answer any questions about the reality on the ground or the wisdom of the surge, (Lets wait and see).
Kennedy wants to put the main US effort in training Iraqis to defend the self-sustaining democratically-elected government and turn Iraq over to Iraqis.
Insight: The Feb. 06 bombing of the mosque in samara was Iraq’s World Trade Center (911), and it will take a year and a half for them to implement the military response to avenge that terrorist act. Global war on terror? No, it’s Iraqi’s war on terror between themselves. We took 18 months to invade Iraq for 911. Iraqis will take the same amount of time to invade each other to get even for Samara. Surge or no surge, Iraqis are in a post-911 stupor just like we were when we were led to war by an obviously impaired and stupified president, (and idiot).

Google the Iraq oil contracts to see the fraud and theft in Iraq.
The one to warch is this one:
On January 23, the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations will hold a hearing to investigate “oil and reconstruction strategy in Iraq.” This offers a critical opportunity to demand a cessation of all U.S. government and corporate influence over Iraqis as to the future of their oil.

“Only a true dullard can’t separate their mindless drooling hatred of Bill Clinton from the fact the he is the Commander In Chief of our Armed Forces and rooting against his plan is rooting against the troops, plain and simple.”
Even though I am a life-long Republican, true white Christian hater of all things lefty, liberal and anti-American, I did acknowledge Bill Clinton as the Commander in Chief and I supported the troops by supporting him. Okay, I hated him, and his uppity wife too, but when he looked at me, I knew he appreciated me for the red-blooded woman that I am, and when he kissed my mouth, I felt the earth move, and when he laid with me, I felt his heart so close to mine, and I knew our joy would fill the earth, and last till the end of time.

As you put it, “spin” is the operative word.
In a recent cartoon a pollster asks a listener about Bush; “Which statement do you agree with more; (1) His second term’s a resounding success, (2)He’s the best president ever or (3) He’s doing better than you expected.”
The responder says, “I disagree with them all!” To which the pollster says, “If you HAD to choose?”; to which the responder replys, “Number 3.”
The pollster then reports, “The president’s apporval rating soars to 99%. Even hard-core democrats polled agree that Bush is doing better than expected.”
So, it all depends on how the question is rigged.
Bush is the plan. Just ask him. The troops are not.

Here’s how a typical “debate” goes between a Conservative and a libStalinist on global warming:
Lib: “You don’t believe in global warming.”
Con: “I do believe in global warming, I just don’t believe that mankind is causing it on the whole.”
Lib: “Like I said, you don’t believe in global warming.”
Con: “What part of I do believe the earth is warming and cooling as it’s always done, yet I don’t believe that mankind has much if anything to do with it do you not understand?”
Lib: “Like I said, you don’t believe in global warming.”

Here we go again. Liberal ignoranuses wetting their pretty pink panties over profits. Profits from wars in this nation have happened since at least 1776. North American Aviation had to come up with the money somewhere to pay Rosie The Riviter to build those P-51s. Contractors had to get the money to pay for Europe’s rebuilding after WWII and US military base expansions there. That’s blood money? Sickos. Mallory,
You’re correct, there is something awry with what counts for justice these days and the no justice no peace crew seems to be meting out the inequities in Durham and elsewhere.
Patrick Fitzgerald’s witch hunt against Libby is a disgrace (as a point of interest, his best friend is James Comey who prosecuted Martha Stewart, using a similar tactic).
Meanwhile, could this have sparked your righteous anger about Sandy Burglar? -
The Archives, the Justice Department and the Sept. 11 commission all insisted that the commission got all the documents it was supposed to, including copies of three that Berger admitted destroying from among the five he admitted he took.
That’s misleading. The two new reports make clear that these five documents, versions of an “after-action” report on an attempted bombing of Los Angeles International Airport, had been cataloged. The Archives staff knew all about them - who wrote them, who got them and what they concerned.
Now we learn something that the Sept. 11 commission was not told. On some visits Berger had access to “Staff Member Office Files” - working papers of individual members of the National Security Council staff, including his own papers and those of terrorism adviser Richard Clarke. These papers had not been cataloged or copied. There is no way of knowing if Berger took anything.
Clearly, Berger was eager to hide something, as shown by one curious fact: The Archives staff tested Berger by noting that Document 217 was missing after one visit; the next time he came the staff gave him another copy of 217 with the comment that it had been inadvertently left out of the last batch. Berger promptly swiped it again.
The Democrats controlling Congress cannot be expected to re-open the Berger case. If the Bush administration knows what Berger was so desperate to hide and can find a way to tell the public without disclosing important secrets, it should

Buy Danish,
Here’s more on Fitzgerald’s motivation.
Yet Mr. Fitzgerald has persisted for three long years, and only six weeks into his investigation sought and received an expansion of his authority in order to go after a senior administration official—Mr. Libby—who had had nothing to do with the leak Mr. Fitzgerald was investigating. And he pursued the case even to the extent of creating a Constitutional showdown over reporters and their sources. Why?
As it happens, Messrs. Fitzgerald and Libby had crossed legal paths before. Before he joined the Bush Administration, Mr. Libby had, for a number of years in the 1980s and 1990s, been a lawyer for Marc Rich. Mr. Rich is the oil trader and financier who fled to Switzerland in 1983, just ahead of his indictment for tax-evasion by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Bill Clinton pardoned Mr. Rich in 2001, and so the feds never did get their man. The pardon so infuriated Justice lawyers who had worked on the case that the Southern District promptly launched an investigation into whether the pardon had been “proper.” One former prosecutor we spoke to described the Rich case as “the single most rancorous case in the history of the Southern District.”
