Bus terminal, no MegaFest, Kerry apology
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Thinking Right’s free-for-all Friday. Pick a topic:
• A Floridian uses “part of a home equity loan” to pay $2,952 for a pair of Barbra Streisand tickets, and then spends $325 more on T-shirts and other merchandise. Can you imagine trying to design a government capable of building safety nets under a population that heaps debt on personal homes to afford a concert? Gotta be a liberal.
• The Georgia Regional Transportation Authority is designing a $93 million bus terminal on I-75, just inside I-285. Two points: With projects like this, nobody in state government can be accused of failing to boldly consider “alternatives” to more road capacity. Some alternatives make dollar sense; some don’t. Commuter rail is in the “don’t make sense” category. And two: Don’t use up all that space above the expressways. At some point soon the private sector needs to double-deck the Downtown Connector.
• Some 360 students at Woodland Elementary Charter School in Sandy Springs voted this week in a mock election. An 8-year-old third-grader voted for Mark Taylor, though she’s not certain what a governor does. “I think the governor is the one who gets all the money from the people and then gives them a paycheck.” And who said the Democratic Party had no farm team?
• Feeling the pressure, former JonBenet suspect John Mark Karr flees. Check the bus to Albuquerque.
• “If the science is right, the consequences for our planet are literally disastrous,” said British Prime Minister Tony Blair, as his government releases a report on climate changes and appoints former VP Al Gore as its “global warming” adviser. If. Scholars at the American Enterprise Institute declared of the report: “Risk estimates are based not on extrapolation of existing trends, but on computer models that are only as good as the assumptions fed in.”
• Last year, global warming caused a bad hurricane season in the Atlantic. But that was last year. This year’s below normal. If.
• Meanwhile, my worry time goes to a still-mutating strain of bird flu. This is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at its finest. Planning. Researching. Coordinating. Preparing for a possible pandemic.
• “Sometimes our government goes too far, and I think this is one of those cases,” said DeKalb CEO Vernon Jones in vetoing a proposed ban on smoking in bars in unincorporated parts of the county. Ordinances such as this are evidence that politicians have too much time, too few ideas and too many laws already — so they’re reduced to kindergarten busy work, doodling and coloring in the legal code.
• Coke announces a wholesale price increase of as much as 25 percent for its orange juice brands. Whew! Finally a price increase we can avoid. Oil, we’re prisoners. OJ, not.
• Looking to start a new business? Here’s one sorely needed: An apology school. John Kerry’s “Of course I’m sorry about a botched joke. You think I love botched jokes?” hardly qualifies. The second round was not much better. John Kerry, stuck in dumbspeak.
• If Congress listened to fiscal conservatives such as U.S. Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-Ga.) of Sharpsburg in the 3rd Congressional District, and outed earmarks, as U.S. Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) of Roswell insisted, we’d not have to worry that the U.S. House may be taken over by Nancy Pelosi Democrats. Good men, both, and good fits for their districts.
• Taxpayers would be well served if every Statehouse committee chair put in the hours and offered the kind of leadership that state Rep. Jill Chambers (R-Atlanta) does in overseeing MARTA’s finances, operations and performance. Republican majorities in both houses have a brief window to challenge the status quo before they own it. She’s in a tough race in DeKalb.
• When liberals say that George W. Bush and Sonny Perdue are not leaders, what they really mean is that the two are not leading in the direction liberals want to go.
• The free market works. Bishop T.D. Jakes cancels MegaFest, one of Atlanta’s biggest religious events, for next year. Attendance had dipped from 500,000 the first year to under 100,000 because of the high cost of four days in Atlanta. The thousands of people dressed in their Sunday best will be missed on the streets here. Next to the Olympic crowds, it’s Atlanta’s most interesting gathering of people from elsewhere.

Morning Jim,
Have you discussed the contract with Wesmorland and Price? I wonder if they’ll be using it in their next re-election bid or if it was just a one-time PR stunt?
REPUBLICAN CONTRACT WITH AMERICA
As Republican Members of the House of Representatives and as citizens seeking to join that body we propose not just to change its policies, but even more important, to restore the bonds of trust between the people and their elected representatives.
That is why, in this era of official evasion and posturing, we offer instead a detailed agenda for national renewal, a written commitment with no fine print.
This year’s election offers the chance, after four decades of one-party control, to bring to the House a new majority that will transform the way Congress works. That historic change would be the end of government that is too big, too intrusive, and too easy with the public’s money. It can be the beginning of a Congress that respects the values and shares the faith of the American family.
Like Lincoln, our first Republican president, we intend to act “with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right.” To restore accountability to Congress. To end its cycle of scandal and disgrace. To make us all proud again of the way free people govern themselves.
On the first day of the 104th Congress, the new Republican majority will immediately pass the following major reforms, aimed at restoring the faith and trust of the American people in their government:
FIRST, require all laws that apply to the rest of the country also apply equally to the Congress;
SECOND, select a major, independent auditing firm to conduct a comprehensive audit of Congress for waste, fraud or abuse;
THIRD, cut the number of House committees, and cut committee staff by one-third;
FOURTH, limit the terms of all committee chairs;
FIFTH, ban the casting of proxy votes in committee;
SIXTH, require committee meetings to be open to the public;
SEVENTH, require a three-fifths majority vote to pass a tax increase;
EIGHTH, guarantee an honest accounting of our Federal Budget by implementing zero base-line budgeting.

A mega-church pastor uses “part of a God equity loan” to preach out against gays and gay marriage, and then spends $10,000 on gay husltlers. Can you imagine trying to design a church capable of speaking out against gays and sin from a pastor that heaps loads and loads of personal sin on himself. Must be a religious right conservative Christian.

Good morning, all. I suspect that the Kerry topic will continue to dominate the blog today, just as it seems to dominate the national news cycle. I have mixed feelings about the topic: the more it is discussed, the better my team will do Tuesday. Voters are likely to associate Sen. Kerry’s sentiments with the moonbats ascendant in the party, thus diminishing the vote for Democrats. On the other hand, the comments were truly hurtful for those with loved ones in the military, and they don’t deserve the unnecessary pain. From Taranto yesterday:
“The reason Kerry’s comments have had such resonance is because many observers have long suspected that he has not abandoned, or even moderated, the antimilitary and anti-American views he espoused back in the early 1970s, when he told a Senate hearing this about his fellow veterans:
“ ‘They had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the country side of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.’
“And indeed, Kerry seems to stand by this outrageous slander. Yesterday he told Don Imus:
“ ‘I’ve told the truth in the past. I’ve never done anything except tell the truth. And I’m not going to take anybody’s comment to suggest that somehow my telling the truth was a mistake. The American people rely on the truth. And when I came back from Southeast Asia, I told the truth. ‘
“If he stands by his slanders from all those years ago, why should we believe him now when he says he was only trying to slander the president of the United States?”

Jim,
What a lovely buffet of tasty subjects this morning. BUT… I wish you had mentioned the gentleman on Buford Highway, who came to America from Viet Nam many years ago, and barely made it on a fishing boat. He loves this country so much he cannot stop praising it and supporting it.
Now he has put up so many “monuments” to the country he loves, that DeKalb County has said he must remove his Statue of Liberty, Soaring Eagle and other things they have declared unsuitable for his yard.
The striking thing here is his great, out-spoken love for this country. You don’t hear that too much any more. It makes one feel good to read his story—without DeKalb County’s part. (Sorry to interrupt so early.)

Good morning, Jim,
While I am not a “tree hugger,” I can’t help remembering “conservatives” of another era who raled at the notion that cigarette smoking caused lung cancer, heart disease, and in-grown toenails. While they were correct about the last item, most of those critics are long since dead.
The global warming issue needs some sensible attention; however, the “corporatists” are going to oppose “any” meaningful reform, while the “environmentalists” are not going to be satisfied with anything short of a return to the “Garden of Eden.”
The sad part is that by the time the whole thing filters down,we will be dead and our grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be left to deal with the mess…while they are paying-off the hellacious debt this “conservative” Congress and “liberal spending” President is running up!

It used to be, “Marianne or Ginger”, or “Betty or Veronica”, and now it’s, “Nanci Pelosi or Katherine Harris”.
Kerry’s going on a farewell apology tour. Every schlameel has a schlamozzle. Kerry spilled the soup, but Bush was the one he spilled it on. Bush overspun Kerry’s remarks and voters were zeroed in on a way to measure Bush’s credibility. Voters finally got a rosetta stone for Bush Speak.
Kerry’s dumbspeak is still indecipherable.

Nice work Jim, as always. As for Rod’s sentiments: it’s this kind of creative and forward thinking that will keep fence-sitting voters solidly on the GOP-side of the fence in this and coming elections. Until the other side comes up with any sort of strategy vs. the Monday-morning QB/name-calling/insulting that it does now (from Rod to Kerry to Pelosi to Reid) we’ll maintain control of the White House, the House, the Senat and, most importantly, the job of protecting America.

JBM; why do you always start the Kerry quote in the middle of the paragraph? Are you being intellectually dishonest or do you not know that you are leaving out the first of what Kerry said?
What did Kerry say before he told the students it was important to study hard? It makes a difference. Dick Armey said he thought it was pretty funny how the Republicans were using fake outrage on this.
I’d rather comment on global warming. The cost of doing something to stop or reduce global warming and then finding out the science was all wrong is far less than doing nothing and the science being correct. Maybe my natural conservatism is coming through in that I think we strive to leave our children a better place to live.
Well, I’m off to help the Jim Marshall campaign today through the election. You know how us lefties hate anyone who served in Vietnam instead of hiding in the national guard (Republicans used to say that about people who served in the guard during Vietnam before Quayle. Ever wonder why daddy Bush picked him for VP?)

Barbara Streisand tickets? Aren’t liberals always claiming that conservatives don’t mind helping out as long as it doesn’t come from their wallets. So what’s Barbara’s excuse? Only “The Nose” knows.
Double decker interstates? I’m thinking San Francisco during the last bad quake. You do know that Georgia is on a faultline, don’t you Jim?
That little 8 year old….From the mouths of babes, or Babs….!!! She’s worth $1,476.00 a ticket. Just ask her or John Kerry, but you’ll have to look UP from your lowly seat in the audience.

Tony Blair & global warming? I thought Tony was despised around the globe for snuggling up with George Bush. It gets cold in the U.K.

When liberals say that George Bush and Sonny Perdue are not leaders, they mean that George Bush was not elected, but rather appointed by the Supreme Court in a voter-fraud conspiracy with Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris.
Sunni Perdue is his own leader, standing in the cyclone of dollar bills swirling around him inside the governer’s lucky magic phone booth, furiously grabbing with both arms, madly crying out for a butterfly net……

His comeback yesterday about my reading skills was funny but he assumed I read his spin. I did not, read a couple of lines, fell asleep, then went on the the real news.
I did go back and struggled through his boring rhetoric and at the bottom he did say he asked Condi about Iraq.
It would seem this would be the first question one would ask, but at least he said he did ask.
Jim is sill spinning the Kerry botched joke but no mention of Boner bashing the generals and blaming Iraq on the troops.

Dear Th @ 9:13, you sound as if you dispute Mr. Kerry’s assertion, yesterday, that he always told the truth about Southeast Asia. I realize intellectual consistency is not a big issue with the Moonbats, but I quote only Mr. Kerry’s words. (And obviously, we all agree that Mr. Kerry did not always tell the truth – the testimony before Congress, although under oath, was obviously not true and he did not telegraph planned deception in his precatory comments.)

Using your home equity loan to see Babs makes you a liberal? It sounds more like the deficit spending of the current Administration. The government has gotten much bigger in the past five years, and the debt ceiling has been raised to over $9 trillion to pay for all the pork Congress has approved. That sounds awfully “liberal” to me.

This should keep women from making any illegal turns or running any red lights. Why? That’s easy, because the camera adds at least ten pounds.
The only way to beat this system is to have your kid shine a powerful “laser” at the camera as you pass under it, thereby blinging the eye of the camera, and allowing yourself to escape scott free.

Thanks for letting me know that me posting the writings of the GOP verbatim bothers you. It bothers me too.
Nothing like a little selective perception to make for a well-grounded ideology.
But don’t count on me not posting it any more. I think it is a fantastic historical document that should not be ignored. I’d encourage you both to read through it again and note the irony.
to end the cycle of scandal and disgrace
Do either of you feel that the GOP has done this? I would have liked for them too, but unfortunately what they’ve done is exponentially grown the cycle of scandal and disgrace.
Ironic, huh? And just like good lil’ sheep, ya’ll continue to say “Heil Bush. The liberals are coming! They want to teach our children to be homos and hate God. They want to kill old people and raise taxes. They want to control our minds through their evil agent, the ‘liberal media’, take away our guns, kill babies and penalize people for making money.”
And for the record, I’m not a Democrat. They suck just as bad.
It’s just that it’s soooo easy to poke holes in Jim’s unabashed defense of a team that’s every bit as shameful as those he chastizes.
So remind me that Kerry is an idiot, or that Clinton had some kind of affair with a little girl, or that the demoncrats will raise taxes if they take control of Congress. Whatever. I don’t care.

They’re trying to spin current events into Kerry being the number 1 person in America that is undermining our troops….practically trying to play us for fools. And the sad part is that a lot of people accept it! Pitiful!
Undermining the troops? Rumsfeld not supplying our troops with enough armor undermines our troops. Not holding contractors accountable like Bechetel undermines our troops. Poor decisions such as firing the entire Iraqi military and de-Baathification undermines our troops. These were all the actions taken by Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld.

So whatcha think, people? Do you think that the Democrats will win the House and/or the Senate this year? Personally, I would have to see it to believe it.
On the one hand you see the hack jobs by the Repubs that takes any Democrats missteps by John Kerry and throw them all on radio. But then you have the Democrats using the media to endorse their candidates and try to find dirt on their pundits. Classic November!
I think that the Democrats could win if John Kerry would go into hiding like Nancy Pelosi. See, Nancy’s smart… She knows she has the propensity to say something polarizing. She is aware that she’s out of touch, so she goes away until after election day. You don’t see Nancy running around the country endorsing candidates. You don’t even see much of Hillary Clinton, but you will see the Democrats roll Bill Clinton out from whatever he’s been doing to start a national speaking tour!
Now, as far as the Republicans are concerned, all they have to do is keep their noses clean and wait for someone on the Democrats side to say something stupid and run with it like Red Grange to the end zone, and they will win it… again. But, the Republicans are always caught in something salacious (even though it was a huge stretch to get a preacher in Colorado in the soup.)
Now, this tactic worked like a charm when the Republicans impeached Clinton, but it is kinda sad to use great Americans like Larry Flynt to do the dirty work. But tactics that work are tactics that work.
Oh, and the last thing: For the Republicans who sees the seemingly endorsement of the Fatah leadership to the Democratic ticket as a good thing, it may work the other way, as well. See, terrorists are indeed scared of George Bush, but so is about everyone else. And terrorists like trouble brewing everywhere. They may want the Republicans to stay in power because they need a clear-cut enemy in order for their chaotic system to work properly.
Now if Bush’s power is diminished in some way, it may make the US a little more favorable to the international community. If that’s the case, it will make the terrorists’ case even more weak. And they may lose more “hearts and minds.”
But a strong Bush doctrine will keep the terrorists in fear… and in anger. And, to me, the only way the Bush doctrine will work is the total annihilation of the enemy. And, unfortunately, the only way I see that occuring is if they make Afghanistan and Iraq a huge parking lot.

Mr. Wooten;
Interesting comment by AEI about global warming projections.
Did they happen to point out that extrapolation of past trends is one of the weakest forecasting methods currently available? Simply put, an infinite number of curves can be draw between two time points.
Simulation modeling – deterministic or stochastic – is much preferable when the true predictors of future events can be identified.
I don’t suppose that the AEI study also mentioned how much money they take from ExxonMobil, did it?
One of the little-known obscenities of the Bush Administration (they are manifold) is their War on Science. Unlike the ridiculous Fox-news generated War on Christians — yes, I guess Karl Rove was just slumming when he vetted Harriet Myers to James Dobson and other members of the snake-handling Christian right; some war —this war is real.
The Washington Post ran articles a couple of years ago as to how Bush has allowed industry lobbyists to write a law essentially stating that if there is ANY conflicting science, an anti-pollution statute must be reviewed. Basically, a pesticide company can hire a hack scientist to produce one deeply flawed study that is laughed at by his legitimate colleagues – but as a result the ban can be lifted and the pesticide used until the “conflicting” science is resolved. This occurred in at least one instance in the Post story.
Don’t forget the replacement of eminent scholars on scientific advisory boards with industry flunkies who couldn’t pass high school chemistry.
Read the letter of protest against the Bush abuse of science signed by the best minds in the country, including several Nobel laureates.
The Bush administration is such a disaster that his attempt to undermine science in order to reward his rich polluting friends just seems to get lost in the rotted woodwork.
It is just one more disgraceful policy in Bush’s unique and complete panoply of shame.

Israel will no longer get their annual transfer of ten plus billion american tax dollars because the dollar will be worthless at that point. I intend to vote republican this election for the above stated reasons. The Dummycrats are just as bad as the neo-scum, they just use different methods to rob, murder and maim the third world peoples of the world, especially the arab peoples. I look forward to the day AmeriKa is destitude, without oil or natural gas, and forced to beg the rest of the world for a little aid. I promise none will be forthcoming.

Dear Pope Rednecks & other fools,
When you stop combing the “nits” out of your hair, please tell us where you met all those “scurvy” victims aka northern invaders.
Did you notice them on your eviction from under the bridge? Or was it the give-away sandwich shop for the homeless?
Please hop a freight train and return “north”. You are ruining my morning mint julep on the veranda with your mirthless and mindless repartee!

Heil Bush!!! We have many more young soldiers who have not yet had an opportunity to die. Let’s send all of them over to Iraq for no reason so they may all be killed.
It’s a great way to reduce the U.S. overpopulation. Thanks Bush.

Oh, I do have to comment on the post concerning undermining our troops. Rumsfeld is not the only person to blame for the armor situation. Congress also bears a lot of blame for that.
Also, if gay marriage is a non-center issue like many in the Democratic party say it is, then Ted Haggard’s indiscretions should not be a center part of an election, especially since Ted Haggard isn’t a elected official. If Ted Haggard comes out today and starts a kissing campaign on the LOGO network, it won’t stop that Evangelical Association. All they will do is elect another president and keep going.

Kerry’s despicable anti-military sneer is truly the gift from allaaaaaaaaaaaargh that keeps on giving. Undeniably he was for the pathetic non-existent joke before he was against it!! Indeed the band aid warrior gigolo still has NOT managed to tell ANYONE exactly what the joke was - other than himself petulantly conceding to Bush two years ago, which was FREAKING HILARIOUS!! And the snotty Boston Brahmin said he wouldn’t apologise and then did - sort of, in a half arsed mealy mouthed grudging utterly unconvincing sullen wholly impersonal statement on a website kind of way. Kerry perpetrated his elitist sneer in person and on camera but can’t/won’t apologise on camera. Hopefully this nauseating cowardly supercilious tw@t is finished politically and the homo loving pinko pond scum in Assachussetts will revel in their having a senator that most of the USA hates and/or despises.
So big nose Streisand screeched, clucked, caterwauled and mooed its way through a horrendously expensive fawning yawnfest in Atlanta. This hugely self absorbed semi-literate (see its website) dimwitted obtuse moronic talentless perpetrator of execrable showtunes, execrable soundtrack musak and far leftist lickspittle shiite will hopefully never infest Dixie again with its loathsome smug preening unhinged Bush hating presence.
Happily The Who will shortly make amends musically for this dissonant liberal bollocks!
J.M. Karr has manically dissappointed rednekks NAMBLA by leaving town without the much promised Assachusstetts homosexual wedding licence entwining the two lovebirds legally and spiritually. Doubtless NAMBLA will now start obsessively stalking Girl George in NYC whilst rednekkks endlessly sings Do You Really Want To Hurt Me to Karr on its cellphone voicemail. That’s Karma Chameleon for ya.
I’m really looking forward to voting GOP AGAIN all the way down the ballot next Tuseday - exercising my rights as a citizen and all that.

Mo,
Interesting point. But isn’t the SecDef the guy who oversees the budget of the military? And isn’t it the SecDef who is responsible for getting the troops what they need in order to be successful? Instead of Rumsfeld making any effort in getting the troops more armor, he smugly stated that “You go to war with the army you got.” That self-serving, smug SOB will get his in the long run for putting so many young men in the line of fire with no plan or proper support.

Since Jim Wooten brought it up, let’s take another look at the fine gentlemen he endorses in Tuesday’s election, and what they’ve done to earn their paychecks in Washington.
Pay attention, kids! Let’s start with DR. TOM PRICE, M.D., Ga 6th:
The Iraq and Afghanistan Veteran’s Association graded Dr. Price “F” for his support of the troops, based on his votes that affect military personnel and their families. “F” is the lowest possible grade.
The Doctor voted against measures to help further stem-cell research, presumably since the more sick people there are, the more money doctors will make.
Voted YES to CAFTA which, among other provisions, allows US companies to freely export American jobs to Central America.
Ignoring his own district, he VOTED YES to a massive $286.5 billion transportation bill, including the famous $225 million “Bridge to Nowhere” in Alaska. Very little was in the bill for highway congestion, smog, or direct benefits to Georgia and the 600,000 citizens in Georgia’s sixth district.
Dr. Tom Price (R-Has always been rich) Voted himself TWO PAY RAISES in his first two-year term. He did not, however, complete a performance review form indicating what he has done to merit such pay increases.
Dr. Tom Price fell in lock-step with one of the most ridiculous stunts in the Capitol in recent memory: to manage TERRI SCHIAVO’s medical decisions from several states away, against the wishes of her own husband and legal guardian. (Ronald “get big government off our backs” Reagan rolls over in grave.) Price voted to OVERRIDE Florida state court decisions, hence ending “States Rights” as we’ve known them to be.
Voted to help his big industry donors by reducing consumer protections: HR 4167: States are no longer allowed to provide separate labeling of hazardous ingredients in foods; all hazardous warnings must be issued by the Federal Government — further decimating “States Rights” as we once thought them to be.
Voted “Forgit about it!” to lowering the cost of student loans for college students, upholding his fine longstanding principles that ONLY CHILDREN OF RICH FAMILIES are worthy of higher education, medical school, and the cushy country-club life he leads.
The Doctor helped his big oil buddies while screwing the environment and those of us who live in it, when he VOTED YES to HR 3893 and the Liability Shield Language Amendment, providing federal land for new oil refineries (no cost to oil companies); repealed EPA anti-pollution requirements as well as waiving restrictions and providing liability immunity for producers of MBTE a gasoline additive that poisons groundwater.
Voted YES to the Energy Policy Act; providing $8.5 billion in tax subsidies to energy industry while oil companies record billions in profits, further lifting EPA restrictions on energy related pollution by energy companies; with no relief for the pathetic working stiffs from the high cost of gasoline. (Was overheard saying at the Country Club: “If you have to ask, you can’t afford it! Hahaha!”)
The Doctor indicated further that he’s not interested in the rights of individuals when he Voted NO to extending the Voting Rights Act, and approved restrictions on inspection by federal election officials of voting. If you question the integrity of the voting process, that’s your problem, not his. He also voted in favor of unauthorized, warrentless tracking of personal finances. Not HIS personal finances, mind you, (like 2004 campaing donations from Jack Abramoff), but YOURS.
TOM PRICE URINATED on the Republican Party’s promise to clean up Congress when he voted to table the motion to investigate House Member activities with Jack Abramoff; and what do you know: No investigation! HA! And also when he voted to change House rules to require a majority vote by the Republican controlled Ethics Committee to investigate member misconduct, allowing Republicans to choose if they should investigate their own ethical violations. Clean up someone else’s house, not the US House! (Stupid peasants think you can demand accountability…)

getoveryourself,
But isn’t it the Congress that sets the budget? In other words, Rumsfeld asked for money for armor and other military provisions but that budget was fought against, was it not?
Now, as a matter of homework, if Rummy had the money, but just failed to place an armor order, then it’s Rummy’s fault. If it was interference on behalf of members of Congress that hindered the approval of that budget, then it is the fault of both Rummy AND Congress.
(I can vaguely remember that the bill was held up by some Democrats who wanted to show some opposition to the war, including Kerry and Kennedy, if I can recall. Someone will give us the correct information on this, with spin, of course.)

Yes, rethink your Reps Ga.
They have helped destroy our country and kiss w like Lieberman.
Vote Dem to try to clean up their mess.
Here is the Dem plan:
Enact a GI Bill of Rights for the 21st Century that guarantees our troops — active, reserve, and retired — our veterans, and their families receive the pay, health care, mental health services, and other benefits they have earned and deserve.
-Strengthen the National Guard, in partnership with the nation’s Governors, to ensure it is fully manned, equipped and available to meet missions at home and abroad.
-Rebuild a state-of-the-art military by making the needed investments in equipment and manpower so that we can project power to protect America wherever and whenever necessary.
-Secure by 2010 loose nuclear materials that terrorists could use to build nuclear weapons or “dirty bombs.”
-Ensure 2006 is a year of significant transition to full Iraqi sovereignty, with the Iraqis assuming primary responsibility for securing and governing their country and with the responsible redeployment of U.S. forces.
-Insist that Iraqis make the political compromises necessary to unite their country and defeat the insurgency; promote regional diplomacy; and strongly encourage our allies and other nations to play a constructive role.
-Prevent outsourcing of critical components of our national security infrastructure — such as ports, airports and mass transit — to foreign interests that put America at risk.
-Immediately implement the recommendations of the independent, bipartisan 9/11 Commission including securing national borders, ports, airports and mass transit systems.
-Protect America from biological terrorism and pandemics, including the Avian fl u, by investing in the public health infrastructure and training public health workers.
-Screen 100% of containers and cargo bound for the U.S. in ships or airplanes at the point of origin and safeguard America’s nuclear and chemical plants, and food and water supplies.
The gop posts the guide to building nukes on the internet.
Vote Dem, it is a no brainer.

Since Wooten endorces Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-8th, soon to be 3rd), here’s what we could find out about him:
On Wednesday, the AJC published the following commentary: Rep. Lynn Westmoreland, the incumbent Republican in the 3rd District, has been more consistent than many of his free-spending fellow Republicans in advocating true fiscal conservatism. But he has also proved a bit of a showboat, trying to block an extension of the Voting Rights Act and co-authoring a bill requiring that the Ten Commandments be posted in the Capitol (that proposal backfired when Westmoreland was unable to list more than five or six of the commandments in an appearance on the faux-news show “The Colbert Report”).
He also supported a dangerous measure that would allow developers (like him) to automatically leapfrog state courts in local zoning disputes and take their cases directly to the federal bench.
Westmoreland was at the forefront of the fight to end the Voting Rights Act, and to force his religion upon the American people by flauting separation of Church and State and displaying the Ten Commandments in the House and Senate.
When asked to name all the commandments he answered: You mean all of them?—Um… Don’t murder. Don’t lie. Don’t steal Um… I can’t name them all.
Oh yes, and he advocates solving America’s problems by abolishing the Department of Education. We don’t need no edumacation! Indeed.

1) Don’t assume the Florida Babs fan is a liberal. Making assumptions only makes an a** of yourself. Besides political outlook is a lot broader than merely conservative and liberal. Most Americans actually fall somewhere in between.
I find it interesting that you’ve neglected to point out that:
2) Since Bush can no longer delude the party faithful with SUCCESS in Iraq, now he’s avoiding Iraq altogether in his recent appearances. Now he’s rallying the base on the ASSUMPTION that Democrats will raise taxes. (See. #1 on assumptions).
3) Where’s your comment on the evangelical leader having gay sex. Would LOVE to see your insight on that situation.

jbmlaw,
Nice post @ 9.37, but not sure the term “totallydismantled” really applies. The critique regards economic solutions to global warming, not that global warming (or, as Herr Rove would prefer you to call it “climate change”) does not exist.
This is how he opens the story: “The review correctly points out that climate change is a real problem, and that it is caused by human greenhouse-gas emissions.”
So what we have are two economists debating how to apply economic principles to prioritize and resolve the problem, not whether or not the problem exists. Your inference, as well as Jim’s, is that the problem does not exist.
Also, I thought his last statement was pretty funny…“We all want a better world. But we must not let ourselves be swept up in making a bad investment, simply because we have been scared by sensationalist headlines.”
Do you think he’s referring to Iraq there?

Freedom-Loving Conservatives - Part Dos
Sorry to stray off course today, but I wanted to follow up on the Nicaragua Ortega post from yesterday.
Remember how angry, justifiably, we were at the idea that China was funneling campaign contributions into the President Clinton’s 1994 re-election campaign and that Al Gore might have been seeking campaign contributions from a Taiwan-based Buddhist organization? Foreigners trying to influence our elections? Despicable.
Yesterday, Jim informed us that Republican Representative Hoekstra and others are seeking to cut off aid to Nicaragua if Daniel Ortega is elected President in the upcoming elections. I observed, in response, that freedom-loving conservatives have shown the world that they only respect free and fair elections in other countries when such elections result in winners who share their political views. Well, here’s more evidence of that.
It turns out that the Bush Administration is sending proxies to Nicaragua, including Iran-Contra hero Oliver North, to actually campaign down there against Ortega. In addition, Bush proxies worked behind the scenes to get divided parties to unite behind one candidate to oppose Ortega….no luck. Now, Bush proxies are actually threatening Nicaraguan voters by making it known down there that if they elect Ortega, then the U.S. will cut off aid to Nicaragua and will prevent legal U.S. residents from Nicaragua from sending money back home (i.e. remittances).
Are Republicans trying to extort votes from impoverished Nicaraguans because of some significant strategic U.S. interest (as if that would be acceptable)? No.
Why then? Why would a freedom-loving conservative try to influence an election in a third-world country? Spite. That’s right. Spite. Daniel Ortega was the bane of President Reagan’s second term (Iran-Contra), and out of their love for Reagan, Republicans want to bring Ortega down — even if they do so at the expense of “free and fair” elections.
No, freedom-loving conservatives don’t espouse the kinds of freedoms that they want you to think they’re espousing when they talk about liberty for all — the kind found in our Bill of Rights. These so-called conservatives have their own Bill of Rights, specifically for the benefit of corporate elites (as Brian Curtis skillfully observed). Here are just some of the liberties Republicans seek to protect, expand and export to Iraq and other countries:
Sweet.

NO WONDER THE BOTOX LIBERAL TROLLOP IS IN HIDING
A look at Pelosi’s voting record TODAY’S EDITORIAL November 3, 2006
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi would bring to the office a level of left-wing liberalism that will be unprecedented. In the National Journal’s 2005 ideological ratings, which were based on scores of votes, Mrs. Pelosi was ranked more liberal than 91 percent of her House colleagues on economic issues, 96 percent on social matters and 82 percent on foreign-policy issues. Here are her relative rankings (economic, social, foreign) for 2004 (93, 88, 81), 2003 (92, 89, 70), 2002 (88, 84, 90) and 2001 (94, 83, 93). Until she received a 95 percent liberal rating in 2005 from the Americans for Democratic Action (the nation’s pre-eminent liberal organization), Mrs. Pelosi had racked up five consecutive years (2000-04) of 100 percent ratings. Her lifetime ADA rating is 96 percent. Last year, the American Conservative Union gave her a 0 rating. Her lifetime ACU rating is 3 percent. Typical for her 20-year House career, Mrs. Pelosi received a 100 percent rating from NARAL Pro-Choice America last year and a 0 rating from the National Right to Life Committee. A Roman Catholic who has repeatedly voted to uphold partial-birth abortion, who has voted against parental notification when minor children seek abortion and who has shown no concern for the rights of the innocent unborn, Mrs. Pelosi has consistently opposed the death penalty. Over the years, Mrs. Pelosi has consistently voted against welfare reform, including the 1996 bill signed by President Clinton and its re-authorization. In 1998, she opposed a constitutional amendment to permit school prayer in the classroom. In 1999, she opposed allowing state and local governments to display the Ten Commandments on public property, including schools. She has voted against education IRAs. In 2003, she opposed a $10 million program for school vouchers in the District of Columbia. That same year she voted against the 10-year $400 billion Medicare prescription-drug bill because she preferred one that was twice as expensive. Mrs. Pelosi has repeatedly voted for tax increases and opposed tax cuts, even the 2001 bill that doubled the child tax credit to $1,000, among other cuts. As the United States has become increasingly dependent on foreign sources for oil, Mrs. Pelosi has always opposed drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. In recent years, she has become protectionist — leading the opposition in 2000 against then-President Clinton’s successful effort to establish permanent normal trade relations with China. She also opposed giving Mr. Clinton and Mr. Bush trade-promotion authority; and in 2005 she voted against the Central American Free Trade Agreement. In 2004, she voted to end Radio Marti broadcasts to Cuba. She voted to reduce funds for the B-2 intercontinental bomber, which performed superbly in the 1999 Kosovo War, in 2001 in Afghanistan and in Iraq. Mrs. Pelosi has repeatedly opposed anti-missile defense, even as a nuclear-armed North Korea has tested ballistic missiles.

THIS JUST IN:
Haggard, a married father of five who has been called one of the most influential evangelical Christians in the nation, denied the allegations, telling Denver’s KUSA-TV late Wednesday: “I’ve never had a gay relationship with anybody, and I’m steady with my wife, I’m faithful to my wife. So I don’t know if this is election year politics … or what it is.”
Hmmmm……blaming the Democrats, huh?
Oh, wait….not only is he a gay hypocrite, he’s also a liar THIS JUST IN:
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Rev. Ted Haggard, who stepped down as head of the 30 million-member National Association of Evangelicals on Thursday after allegations that include having gay sex, has confessed to some of the allegations, a fellow pastor said in an e-mail to church members. “It is important for you to know that he confessed to the overseers that some of the accusations against him are true,” Ross Parsley, the acting senior pastor at New Life Church stated. “It made me angry that here’s someone preaching about gay marriage and going behind the scenes having gay sex,” said Jones, who added that he isn’t working for any political group. “Homosexual activity, like adulterous relationships, is clearly condemned in the Scriptures,” the evangelicals association says on its Web site. The Bible says homosexuality is a sin that “brings grave consequences in this life and excludes one from the Kingdom of God.”
Uh-Oh, looks like Teds in BIG TROUBLE with the Big Guy.
Last year, Haggard and officials from the nearby Christian ministry Focus on the Family announced plans to push Colorado’s gay marriage ban for the 2006 ballot.
Hey, guess it’s not like he wanted to MARRY the guy. He just wanted to have some good hot meth sex.
THIS JUST IN: WASHINGTON - The nation’s top intelligence official took down a government Web site with captured Saddam Hussein-era Iraqi documents, after questions were raised whether it provided too much information about making atomic bombs. The Iraqi documents include information on Saddam’s nuclear program — most of which dates back to the first Gulf War. Two CIA weapons experts — first David Kay and then Charles Duelfer — concluded in 2004 and 2005 that while Saddam might have wanted to revive his nuclear program, it effectively ended with the first Gulf War.
That said, a top official told NBC News that Iraq’s program was relatively sophisticated —and that the documents could have been helpful to terrorists or others trying to develop nuclear weapons. Intelligence officials had objected at the time — but were overruled by President Bush.
According to the Times, conservative politicians and publications hoped analysis of the some 48,000 boxes of documents seized in the Iraq invasion would reinvigorate the search for proof that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction.
Bush cited concerns about that as a major cause for the Iraq invasion. No such weapons have been found.
BUT HEY, LET’S TALK ABOUT JOHN KERRY TODAY!!!!

Fluffy,
How about this: Cynthia McKinney is insane. Bill Clinton is a liar. Al Sharpton is a grandstander. Barney Frank is a f*.
That good enough?
Problem with all that is, the GOP is in power and therefore accountable - it’s what they wanted. They run the House, the Senate and the White House. Not the Democrats. When the Democrats get us into a war for no other reason than to appease their campaign contributors, then I’m sure I’ll have plenty to say.
Mark In Atlanta,
The document is titled “Contract With America”, not “Lofty Goals For America”. And within the document, it’s authors, a bunch of politically motivated liars, use the phrase “a written committment with no fine print”.
Ask jbmlaw what the terms “contract” and “committment” mean.
Aparently they don’t mean much to the GOP, or else it’s base would be pretty outraged by the party’s failure to live up to it’s contract.
And if any of you can find a document written by Democrats and titled “Contract With America” shamelessly used for the purpose of assuming control of Congress in order to benefit their backers, then please post it. As far as I can tell they’re all just individually flawed, as opposed to collectively.

It’s amazing that Barbara Streisland got any attention at all when she first sang, “People”, on the heels of Beatlemania. I missed all of the US Beatlemania because I was in Germany when the beatles hit on the heals of the Kennedy Assassination, which makes me the most ironic FABB4eyes, (Fat Aging Baby Boomer w/glasses), that ever lived. I am and I am not Paul McCartney at the same time. Them freaks was right…. I remember my dad banning me from enjoying a Barbara Streisland song as punishment for the Beatles, who couldn’t sing. Now Barbara can sing!
I guess it’s obvious I still havent got over the Milli Vanilli thing, either, so I should just stfu.
It’s the third day of Shia’s Independence. They should all be drunk by now. I say we attack Sadr City now, from four sides and capture the Shia leaders assassinating our troops, and teach them a civics lesson in free democracy.

Ted Haggard, like James Dobson, had the ear of President Bush…who has fashioned himself as the “christian values” president..along with his party being the “values” party.
The issue is not gay marriage but right-wing hypocrisy, which you have to admit is just rampant right now…
Those people that support Haggard also support his politics…now they will become disillusioned. Will they vote democrat? Probably not…they probably will not vote at all.

I don’t know what’s dumber: a poor person spending every last dollar on lottery tickets or an idiot spending borrowed cash on a big-nosed, loudmouthed, ugly political blog hack wannabe old dried up ex-60s liberal who still thinks she can sing.
Ironically, both are Class A Democratic constituents. But remember, if they don’t save, it’s your fault you selfish wicked Conservative Republican SOB! Further, I thought I was sick enough over political ads, but the AJC’s orgasmic coverage over b!tchin’ babs over the past week has flat out made me upchuck flying biscuits.
The day the “private sector” will be allowed into anything in the Metro Atlanta region with regards to solving traffic woes will be the day penguins flock to Mexico (which will take place in the upcoming anti-capitalist enviro-scareflick Al Gore-directed sequel, The Day After The Day After Tomorrow).
MARTA is a joke. Take a good look at those MARTA buses (the ones you can see through anyway) OTP and see how many riders are on them at any given time… what, three, six folks at best? Further, any private entity that proposed building a north rail line that would take 20 years to complete would be laughed out of the room. MARTA even has to have a committee formed to figure out where the north rail line would start/finish. Good God, at the rate MARTA decides to and finishes extending something, they might as well tack on another 10-15 miles in the plan.
Hah! So a publicly-educated child says “[government] gets all the money from the people and then gives them a paycheck.” Ok, for all you socialist neomarxist liberals out there who make fun of me and say “where’s your proof” when I say that public schools are good little liberal Stalinist indoctrination camps led by the leftwing NEA, you may now bow with your apologies… not that you people ever apologize when you are wrong anyway. And to think this is the CRAP that our kids are learning instead of math, science, geography, and civics. The misguidance of liberalism in this nation will be our downfall yet, God unwilling. But the good news is that conservatives are out-breeding liberals by a margin of at least 25% nationwide. If any of you tin-foil hat liberals ever wanted to know the true meaning of “family values,” well then, there’s your spot-on answer. In time… in time…
More human interaction with global warming BS. Considering the amount of time mankind has been on the planet , let alone the amount of time we have been accurately measuring atmospheric conditions, our relevance to the global warming issue (and make no mistake about it, that whopping .8 degree average rise over the past 100 years is scaring the hell out of me) is a joke. For us to say we can make a definitive conclusion that our very presence in such a short time on earth with SUVs and smokestacks is causing the earth to formulate massive sequential hurricanes (oops, sans this year), break temperature records that are over 100 years old, cause fish to fall out of the sky in Tasmania, and sea temperatures to rise (or cool) outside of el Nino is like taking a 1,000 mile deep core sample, analyzing 1mm of it that shows some upward temperature trend, and then concluding that overall mankind’s lifestyle is responsible for the current temperature fluctuations.
The earth is a hell of a lot bigger than we little people think it is here on the ground emotionalizing ourselves to death, and we sure don’t need the “world’ like that anti-American, anti-capitalist, anti-progressive development bullsnot known as Kyoto. (How much did Kyoto propose for developing nation polluters like India and Mexico to reign in their pollution, who don’t even have self-mandated federal and local emission reducing policies? Mmmm-huh).
Are we really sure MegaFest’s crowd dwindling is because of Atlanta’s four-day staying costs? I surmise there’s more to the story than anyone wants to admit, and aren’t saying. I’ll bet it’s the same reason I no longer go downtown (or Buckhead) along with a lot of others. Clean up downtown, try paving some streets (inbetween the ubiquitous water main breaks), manage the street hoodlums, overaggressive bums, gangbangsta “thump thump thump” cruising, and actually have cops that enforce the law instead of just body-slamming rich women at airport curbsides.
But, that’s the Atlanta we know best: bass ackwards priorities. We haven’t had a water/sewer pipe infrastructure overhaul in a century, but by damn we sure need to debate and approve of our city theme song [which is stupid BTW] and need to waste countless hours on such important issues as Olympic and aquarium mascots!

You draft-dodgers wouldn’t know this, but the military administers the equivalent of an IQ test to enlistees in boot camp. Those who score lowest get assigned to the infantry. Those who score high are assigned to various specialties.
However, it’s a different story with officers. The best and the brightest officer candidates get assigned to lead infantry platoons. It’s regarded as a prize assignment. The others get assigned to various other MOSs, including supply and communications.
Of course, I wouldn’t expect the chickenhawks on this blog to know very much about the military. They love to advocate war, but God forbid they should ever be required to join the armed forces.

Socio-theology 101: Chix with Dix is coolest thing to come out of the whole sexual revolution thing we baby boomers started. Now I’m married and do not cheat on my wife, nor would I ever consider it, (I’m 55, even adult toy stores took me off their mailing list)……anyway, I do go out to the comedy clubs and I see what’s going on out there.
Last Monday night at the Starbar in Little Five Points, our country finally achieved the real life portrayal of the bar scene in Star Wars. Every creature was represented and every creature had a communicator, a marital aid set on stun, (wide beam), and the song playing was “I downgraded pluto before downgrading pluto was cool”.
I love that song. See you all on stage. They let everyone up there on open mike night. Think you can be funny? Try the Starbar in Little Five Points. Best room for breaking in new material in the country. Its a perfect set up like I’ve never seen before. There’s an even mix of comics to civilians, and the interactions push the envelopes in real time, baby. Great energy in that room. It’s so invigorating that I have to pace myself. Best part: It’s okay to hug the comedians. We need that contact to stay afloat during an evening of comedy. Warning: Comedians tend to grab things when they hug, we’re weird. What can I say? This is the most fun you can have, except for when someone’s jock strap would break during dodge ball when we were in highschool…that’s right, I played Brokestrap Dodge Ball…..anything for a laugh, you hear me? Anything.

Why don’t you read up on the military instead of mouthing off your jackass about something you obviously don’t know a damned thing about.
Enlisted ranks and officer ranks come from different backgrounds. Most officers come from college, and the other officers come from (selected) enlisted ranks after attending OCS. I don’t know how many people out there can lead with a high school diploma never having studied high level math and other things, which is where the most of the enlisted ranks come from. That’s life in the private sector too, JACKASS.

The Baby Boomers grew up in the best era for playing army man, in the “remember WW2” marketing wash of the peacetime 50’s. We played army man every day, and split into two teams, each armed with a pop rifle, then being marketed along with “The Rifleman”. We’d do military maneuvers and try to outflank each other all day. It was the most fun you could have.
Sometimes the fastest runner of us would get yelled at by his mother to finish his homework or do chores. It all would come crashing down around us in an instant. Just like the real army today in Iraq. As kids we didn’t really think about what the mission was either, we simply weren’t educated enough to understand the concept of an overall mission for our ambushes, except to do it until we keeled all the lousy krauts. “Combat” was a television show. It was a grand masterpiece of 7-15 year old entertainment, trust me.
The timing of Bush’s missing paper trail of guard duty confirmation runs simultaneously with the hottest ratings weeks for “Combat”. I mean how much proof do you Neo-Newts need? Honestly.

From Markus - I don’t care about evangelicals. They don’t speak for me.
THIS JUST IN:
Haggard heads Colorado’s largest megachurch and has been an influential leader in the national evangelical movement — a movement some say was instrumental in getting President Bush re-elected in 2004.
He may not speak for you, but he sure speaks for your party.
Several religious leaders defended Haggard before his NAE resignation Thursday afternoon.
“It’s fishy,” said the Rev. Steve Holt, senior pastor for 3,500-member Mountain Springs Church. “I think people should take note that this is five days before the election, and that Ted is a proponent of yes on Amendment 43 and no on Referendum I.”
James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, said the media were to blame.
“It is unconscionable that the legitimate news media would report a rumor like this based on nothing but one man’s accusation,” Dobson said.
“Ted Haggard is a friend of mine, and it appears someone is trying to damage his reputation as a way of influencing the outcome of Tuesday’s election — especially the vote on Colorado’s marriage protection amendment — which Ted strongly supports.”
The Rev. Donald Armstrong, rector of Grace Episcopal and St. Stephen’s Church, said he’s known Haggard for more than two decades and knows he’s not gay.
“I’ve known pastor Haggard for a long time,” he said. “That’s the last thing he’d succumb to.”
Somebody needs to tell these yahoos that the Ted has confessed.
Now let’s talk about Streisand & Kerry !!!

Remember many of the so call Democrats are considered RICH!!!! Well, I’m late on account of a immergency meeting at the church. The police caught the Revrend Jim Bob Buice in the bushes with a 12 year old boy, and they was both nekkid as newborns.
Anyway, we had to decide who was going to be the new pastor, on account of it’s hard to pastor a church from a jail cell. Joe Ed said he kinda felt the call, and he was tired of working at the saw mill anyway. But we decided to look for somebody else.
Right when we was ready to break up that librul Homer Cook had to speak up and say the arrest of the Revrend Jim Bob Buice raised questions about the truth of the Revrend’s election advise—not to vote for Democrats and all. Anyway, Sister Dusty said God probly didn’t know about the Revrend’s little habit and probly spoke the truth to him before the Revrend gave the sermon. I thought Joe Bill was going to punch Homer in the mouth, and I was sure glad we broke up when we did.

What, Jim, no comment on on John Boehner’s direct insult of the generals that lead our nation’s military? I guess party affiliation is more important than what is actually said. Kerry botched a joke, a prepared text of which was released the same day he made the comment. None is jumping on Boehner, because the GOP is made up of a bunch of hypocrites. As for the 8 year old’s comment,if he was on the Republican Farm Team he would say the governor is the one who changes the law so he gets to keep all the money for himself. Tom Price is not a good fit for the 6th district. He is a Republican puppet, doing nothing on his own and following his marching orders to the T. He talks about fiscal conservatism like it is a principle this administration and this congress follow, but votes for every pork bill that the GOP can pass. He needs to be sent home to open a clinic for recovering ministers who have strayed to the love that dare not speak its name.

I can’t believe that you can’t see that it is Barbara Steisand, George Soros, Michael Moore, the ACLU, secularists, Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic minority in Congress, liberal college professors, activists judges, Katrina evacuees, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Hillary Clinton, 9-11 widows, and above all else former Pres. Clinton who are to blame for Iraq. They don’t have as much political power as the Republican-controlled legislative and executive brances of the federal government, however they still use their evil liberal powers to conspire and undermine our efforts in Iraq.

I see that Markus is being his usual moronic self. Unable to comprehend what he reads, he mindlessly asserts my idiocy by pointing out that officers are by and large college graduates.
Of course they are! That wasn’t the point I was making. My point was that enlisted people who test lower on IQ/aptitude get assigned to the infantry, while the best and brightest officer candidates get assigned to coveted infantry leadership positions.
Of course, Markus is draft-dodger No. 1. I’ve been in the ranks. It is the height of hubris for him to claim I know nothing about the military. Given the extent to which he tried to avoid military service, I wouldn’t expect him to know anything about it. We are, after all, always in ignorance of what we fear most.

Quantum physics 101: Light doesn’t “reflect”. Light induces objects to radiate their own new light that you see. Light is radiation.
A photon of light can induce matter to radiate all by itself with a slightly different frequency than the original interacting photon of light.
That’s why there’s no such thing as reflected light, you are seeing a different new light that wasn’t there a moment before the original light hit upon it. Even a mirror lets most of the light through. However, because of chaos, sometimes a photon will induce the molecularly-confined atoms of the mirror to emit new photons that you see.
Light interacts with atoms in a way that instructs the electrons in the atoms to change to a different orbit. This new orbit is determined by the molecular structure which the atom happens to find itself in when it radiates after interacting with the original photon of light. Living Cells have molecular structure, by the way.
When an electron’s orbit changes, then a new photon is emitted. That’s the photon that you see, (and once thought was merely reflected light).
Now you know that what you see is not the original photon that struck the mirror. You’re seeing the mirror’s new photon that it itself generated after it reacted with the original photon of light.
That's why no light has ever been "reflected".Most of the radiation that is a photon passes through the molecules of matter and does not interact. It’s only the accident of chaos that you can see anything at all. Once in a while, a photon does actually interact with an atom, (altering the electron orbit), and thus it radiates and allows you to see it.
Nobody knows why or how this interaction takes place, allowing you to see things, but one thing is certain: It requires an observer: you.
It’s just possible that The Uinverse was created when MAN first observed it. It could be 6K years old. It’s possible given the nature of chaos.
Radio waves, x-rays, infrared light, ultraviolet light, cosmic rays, and the radiation from the H-bomb are all the same thing: electromagnetic radiation. They are unique only by their frequency.
Everything is visible to us because everything radiates radiation at a unique frequency. Radiation or light: same thing.
Interchangeable terms: Light/radiation/photon of light
Now, why is the sky blue? The atoms that make up what we call the sky are radiating a frequency that looks blue to our eyes. They wouldn’t do this except that photons from the sun are inducing them to emit these blue colored photons. BIG BUT: we have to be there to see it, or it’s not happening. (welcome to quantum physics 101)
Extra credit: Why does the same green leaf from last summer look red in the fall? The tree signals the leaves to change their cells which changes the molecular structure of the cells and that makes the atoms radiate red frequency, instead of green, but once again, it takes an observer to see it or it doesn’t happen.

“GENEVA (AP) — Nearly 100,000 Iraqis are fleeing each month to Syria and Jordan, forcing the United Nations to set aside its goal of helping refugees return home after the U.S.-led invasion, officials said Friday.
Instead, the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees has drawn up plans to deal with the exodus of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis who are desperate to escape the violence, chief spokesman Ron Redmond said.”

Foreskin, I’ve been wondering about this assertion (by the media whores who repeat Rove-speak) that the terrorists (or more specifically, the native peoples of Iraq who are at war in their own country) are “stepping up the violence” to influence OUR elections.
This presumes that the vast majority of those people who in fear for their lives every day actually KNOW that we have an election, what it’s for, have any understanding of how OUR system works, know the difference between Democrats and Republicans, and the history of the struggles for control and the mass repression of one-party by the one in power.
OH, and it also assumes that these people actually have access to electricity, communication, and satellite and broadband technolgy to KEEP them updated, and that they actually, while their homes, marketplaces, loved ones, and own a—es are being bombed off by their neighbors of a different denomination, GIVE A DOGGONE what we do with our lil’ ol’ midterm elections. It’s a stretch, I think.

He really wants his flock to keep following and believing in him. So, he says he only received a “massage” from Mike Jones.
Someone should ask Ted, what the Bible says about lying? I guess he will start drug rehab next week, but - OH Yeah, he never took the drugs. He just spent the churches hard earned money to buy it for possible USE.
Why can’t this guy just admit his sin and ask for forgiveness? I don’t care about the drugs or the relationship - I just hate the hypocrisy. If it had been another woman, I would feel exactly the same way.

I hesitate to republish something from a publication as unreliable as the NY Times, but this item caught my attention:
“Among the dozens of documents in English were Iraqi reports written in the 1990s and in 2002 for United Nations inspectors in charge of making sure Iraq had abandoned its unconventional arms programs after the Persian Gulf war. Experts say that at the time, Mr. Hussein’s scientists were on the verge of building an atom bomb, as little as a year away. European diplomats said this week that some of those nuclear documents on the Web site were identical to the ones presented to the United Nations Security Council in late 2002, as America got ready to invade Iraq. But unlike those on the Web site, the papers given to the Security Council had been extensively edited, to remove sensitive information on unconventional arms.” (Emphasis added) http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/03/world/middleeast/03documents.html?_r=1&ei=5094&en=1511d6b3da302d4f&hp=&ex=1162530000&partner=homepage&pagewanted=print&oref=slogin

Jim always wants to complain about the size of government and how much money they spend. But his solution to these problems is always the predictable “elect more Republicans”. Sorry Jim, but in case you haven’t noticed, the size of government, and amount of money they waste has grown more under a GOP White House, Senate and HORep than at any other time in history. Not to mention the toll in human life that the GOP trifecta has put on the scoreboard thru Iraq and the botched Katrina rescue efforts. No Jim, I think I’ll have something other than more elephant meat for dinner this time around. Is it a conincidence that an elephant is fatter than a jackass? I think not. A jackass will do something stupid and sht all over the floor for you to step in. A mess to be sure. @ Curious Observer 1:43:
First of all Curious Observer, I didn’t like your attitude of “you draft dodgers.” We don’t have a draft. Secondly, since when the HELL did military service become such an important topic to you pathetic liberals? You people sure didn’t give a damn in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and DAMN sure didn’t care in the 1990s. So I don’t want to hear any of this “I served and you didn’t” bullsnot. If it wasn’t good for you and your ilk then, then it’s not important now, DEMOCRITES.
Secondly, why post about something most of us already know about? OFFICERS are LEADERS, ORGANIZERS, and MANAGERS, not grunts. You don’t put an officer with sub-standards on the FRONT LINE in charge of dozens of men. In any event, a “C” officer is still an OFFICER, and therefore more qualified than a run-of-the-mill high school grunt to manage a logistical supply outfit or communications station, just like a “C” college student is still more capable of managing the inventory of a grocery store than a high-school grad with no higher level education. That’s the painful, unapologetic, non-politically correct truth.
For you to claim to be such a military expert because you served in it, you sure as hell don’t know jack about the BASICS of military hierarchy. So next time if you want to make a point, don’t bait with a BS start off point, tinhead.

Van, light does reflect off some surfaces. In fact, we say that the angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection. Sometimes light goes through one medium to another medium, e.g., light going from the air to glass (prism). When that happens, the light becomes refracted.

Pull-string liboparrot blog response #1,413:
“Why do you hate America so much?”
Let’s see: I love a strong military, low taxes, individuals making decisions not the government for us (specifically in education and retirement), continued non-meddling of government trying to screw up our healthcare with a bureaucratic pig “Free” healthcare plan for all whopping 16% of those in America with no healthcare where toe-jammed people will clog our hospitals because it’s “free,” the UN telling us how we need to run our nation, etc. etc.

Did I apologize yet for saying that the trolls on this blog were uneducated?
Look, what I meant was that if you blog less, read more and apply yourself then maybe you wont get your head stuck in Uranus, (downgraded from a hole)
It was a botched flame bash thing, that’s all. I didn’t mean to suggest that the trolls here have any brains whatsoever, because it’s obvious they dont, what I meant to say was that sleeper-(stem)cell research has shown promise in exterminating trolls from blogs with in-vitro lobotomy-cloning techniques, that’s all.

Greetings rednecks and trash of the Woo-ten Klan, and to the decent folks too, from Pope rednecks - Amerikkka’s Al Qaeda I.
I went to see, Borat last night. It lives up to its billing as the funniest move ever made. Naturally, most of the funniest scenes involve you southron pieces of sheet - there is a clip of a Pentecostal service in South Carolina which just might be the most ridiculously funny scene ever filmed. It was like watching a bunch of retarded Hottentots strung out on peyote playing with audio/visual equipment. There is another funny scene with a crowd of rodeo rednecks cheering Borat calling for George Bush to drink the blood of every man, woman, and child in Iraq.
Anyhow, a great many folks got a good chuckle at your expense last night, you silly orangutangs.
Wooten, you’re a very rare breed - a redneck with a passport!

NEWS FLASH: Cross-dressing PLO terrorists escaped an Israeli dragnet! Hundreds of PLO women, disquised as catholic nuns, foiled an Israeli raid on a mosque/fortress which housed several PLO terrorists. These trapped gunmen managed to “La Cage a Faux” their way out safely by walking out of the mosque wearing virgin-mary attire. They blended in with the women, even though the terrorists didn’t have moustaches. An Israeli spokesmen said the whole episode is a real, “crying game”, and he’s embarrassed for the PLO.
In a related story, hundreds of horses, disquised as catholic nuns, foiled a glue factory’s raid on a sacred stable in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, these horses became trapped by floodwaters, and they all drowned, sending glue futures up!

The history of the Iraq war has two chapters: Pre-Samarra Mosque Bombing and Post Samarra Mosque Bombing. Once you violate sacred sanctuaries, you even get Shakespeare’s attention.
Richard Perle is clobbering the Bush Administration over mishandling the theo-political hornet’s nest that Iraq has always been.
This whole invasion was Perle’s idea. He’s now admitting that he himself didn’t understand the breadth of the Sunni/Shia sectarian rift or even the complexities of the ethnic rivalries that frustrate any analysis of how political allegiences have evolved over the millenia.
He just wanted to enforce the No Fly Zone from the ground.
Perle is the problem, and for him to be criticizing Bush is like a self-fullfilled apology that not even Kerry could botch.
It’s like when the Berlin Wall came down. Wasn’t there even one guard left who would object to people climbing on that wall and shoot at them? no, it was a tectonic shift in the zeitgeist, the shared common knowledge and wisdom that evolves over the millenia and can be local, regional, or even global in it’s reach.
Americans dont even understand the difference between ethnic and sectarian. Americans aren’t educated in geo-politics, and they’ve become stuck in Iraq.
Islam 101: Ethnic is race. Sectarian is religion. They are different. In Iraq, they have 10K year old outhouses. There are so many different intra-cultural eddies of chaos in their political allegiences that only an all out war between them can clean it out, and help get those people out of the stone age.
We have to let the Iraqis find equilibrium with blood. We did, and nobody thought it was a big deal. Ask Lincoln. Hardly anybody gave a damn. There was a liberal free love movement gaining a lot of steam during the civil war. Not to mention the opiates.
Let the Iraqis fight it out. It’s their right to fight. Civil war is a natural part of a country growing up… it just is, and there’s nothing we can do about that fact.
I demand the resignation of George W Bush effective noon tomorrow. Ditto Cheney. Let the Speaker run things for a while…………………DOH!

James Taranto’s wise analysis of the Haggard kerfuffle:
If you are homosexual and you believe homosexuality is wrong, remaining in the closet would be entirely consistent with your beliefs.
If Jones’s claims about Haggard are true, Haggard plainly was not living up to his own moral principles. And of course those principles may be wrong. But Haggard’s falling short of them has no bearing on their merits as moral principles.

The Atlanta Urinal smearing Christianity in the worst possible fashion for a full page and a freaking half:
Religious leader denies gay sex claim
The horrors of gay homosexual sex. It really is disgusting, isn’t it?
And then have the audacity to try to buddy up to Evangelicals in the Urinal’s “Faith” and “Values” section:
Ex-Bush staffer: White House using evangelicals
You mean like the way the left uses the gay and lesbian lobby to get votes?
Show of hands, y’all, would you rather be used or slandered?
{^*^}
Did you ever wonder why the left and the Atlanta Constipation are always on the case of Religion about sexual indiscretion and child molestation, usually devoting the full front page to behaviour that pinkos normally overlook? There are 60,000 clergymen in America, 2% of them have been found to have molested children. That’s 1,200 total.
But then a study done by the Department of Education finds that out of the 3,000,000 teachers in America, 5% of them are child molesters, making a grand total of 150,000.
150,000 teachers versus 1,200 priests.
Staggering.
And can you tell me one full page article that you’ve ever seen in the AJC condemning teachers like you have religion?
Makes you wonder if the left cares more about smearing the Church than they do about the welfare of our children.
{^*^}
It was a terrible crime, as portrayed in the media, when they thought it would discredit the Bush administration. Now, very belatedly, it turns out that the leak did not originate in the Bush administration after all, but with a critic of that administration, Richard Armitage. Suddenly it was no longer a scandal, a crime or anything, as far as the media were concerned. There were no cries that Armitage should be frog-marched anywhere in handcuffs. Some in the media belatedly acknowledged that it was never a crime because the CIA “agent” was actually someone sitting behind a desk in Virginia.-HumanEvents
{^*^}
Any success now in Iraq would help the beleaguered Bush administration, and that is intolerable to the far left. Thus, hurting the president and his crew has become more important to some Americans than seeing a victorious Iraqi campaign. That kind of thinking is damaging to the country, because, in the long run, Americans are going to have to confront the jihadists and defeat them. Sorry, Barbra Streisand, the terrorists are not going away even if we do pull out of Iraq.-HumanEvents

Republicans, “have only rewarded wealth, not work,” Pelosi complained. “We must share the benefits of our wealth” beyond the privileged, she continued. Thus, Pelosi dissed wealthy, hard-working surgeons, restaurateurs, and business owners. Rangel makes the spendthrift Pelosi look stingy. According to the National Taxpayers Union’s “BillTally” calculations, if every measure Pelosi sponsored passed, she would have increased the last Congress’ net federal spending by $230.5 billion. Rangel’s equivalent sum is a mind-blowing $1.86 trillion in brand-new, net spending.-HumanEvents

I hate dragging a scrum in from another blog but I can’t let this slide:
By I Love Myself So Much November 3, 2006 06:28 PM Any people who devote their lives to religious pursuits or attempt to spread religion are doing mankind a disservice. {{{{{{{More than any other source, religion is the primary cause of hatred, wars, and human suffering. And that applies to all of human history.}}}}}}}} The sooner we can eradicate the disease, the better off humanity will be. The Bible is simply an immoral, contradictory pack of lies. And you base your life around it, as do many Americans. Truly sad.
Let’s see here, Communism, with it’s core belief of socialism and the deity of the state, beliefs that are also shared with liberalism, has killed over 100,000,000, that’s One Hundred Million minimum people over the last century.
Even looney Islamic fascism only has 100,000, give or take a thou or two.
Anybody want to help me out with the 999,900,000 religious victims that I’m missing?
Not to mention that Religion is a force for Good in the world, far outweighing in harm that may have been done by a lunatic or two.
To think that “One of the Majority’s Voices of Dissent” is supposedly a teacher answers a lot of questions about why our children are so stupid.

Here’s what will happen in Iraq: Bush has 50 think tanks inventing a victory or some sort of “Peace with Honor” spin that will allow us to pull back from the civil war we are surrounded by.
BTW: Saddam faced a Shia uprising just like this one right after Desert Storm. He violated mosques and killed civilians indiscriminately to exterminate all young males, because they form the pool of insurgents. By slaughtering everyone in an area, he was very effective in reestablishing order and stability.
We could adopt Saddam’s tried and true tactics for establishing order in Iraq. We could.
1991: W’s dad said then that the Iraqi Army and the Iraqi people should take matters into their own hands and force Saddam to resign and then they can join the community of peace loving nations.
W senior had no more clue than W jr. Can men be this naive and still govern?

I wonder how many times a day Haggard prayed to be cured of his homosexual urges?
Too bad James Dobson’s Focus on the Family wasn’t around when Haggard was growing up. He could have been cured of his homosexual desire by using the Focus on the Family gay conversion therapy for children. Here’s an example taken from the Focus on the Family website:
Meanwhile, the boy’s father has to do his part. He needs to mirror and affirm his son’s maleness. He can play rough-and-tumble games with his son, in ways that are decidedly different from the games he would play with a little girl. He can help his son learn to throw and catch a ball. He can teach him to pound a square wooden peg into a square hole in a pegboard. He can even take his son with him into the shower, where the boy cannot help but notice that Dad has a peniss, just like his, only bigger.

The neocon chickenhawks who think Americans in uniform are foursquare behind Curly, Larry and Moe… I mean Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld are in for a rude awakening Tuesday:
We are reaching a tipping point — and if we do not choose to change course quickly, the military may reach its breaking point. Conditions in Iraq and Afghanistan are deteriorating for our troops, Osama bin Laden is still a free man, and we all know that the president’s plan is to “stay the course” — even as Iraqi society devolves into civil war. For these reasons, the president and the Republican Party have lost the support of many veterans. And I am one of them.
Further up the food chain, some of the faux intellectuals who were once outspoken in their support of “nation building” (can you say hubris?) are having second thoughts:
As Iraq slips further into chaos, the war’s neoconservative boosters have turned sharply on the Bush administration, charging that their grand designs have been undermined by White House incompetence. In a series of exclusive interviews, Richard Perle, Kenneth Adelman, David Frum, and others play the blame game with shocking frankness. Target No. 1: the president himself.
Let’s not forget our favorite “you go with the Army you have” incompetent:
(CNN) — An editorial to be published Monday in independent publications that serve the four main branches of the U.S. military will call for President Bush to replace Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.
It’s bad enough that BushCo has been making outrageous errors in judgement for six years. What’s really sad is that they absolutely refuse to admit that they might… just MIGHT be wrong.
Vote the Bush GOP ou November 7th.

Dear Mrs. finch/bon scott: Hi my name is Andy. I am the person that your “husband” is homosexual stalking on the AJC’s cartoonist’s blog. I’m sure that his behaviour is distressing to you, seeing how his previous bout of obsession with me resulted in a 3 month stay in the sanitarium. I’m hoping that your financial condition has begun to recover.
What I’m writing to you about is seeking help for your little fa-ggot “husband” and his degenerate inability to get me out of his thoughts and lusting. Personally, I could give a f less about him, any one can see that I ignore him almost constantly, only responding when I see that a line of sanity has been crossed. I am foremost a Christian and do not wish to see others harmed. I therefore request that you take action before this que-er loses it again.
If you cannot afford a visit to the doctor, I suggest that you try shaving and perhaps taking a bath. I know that the condition of your appearance all but renders hygiene useless but this freak husband of yours is desperate. Think about what he is doing. He cannot post one single solitary comment to the blog with out getting moony eyed about Andy this and Andy that. This is not healthy at all.
So please, please Mrs. finch, let him get some. Put that bag over your head, spray some Lysol on the bed and get him drunk if necessary. Maybe this will get me off his mind.
It will be better for all of us.
Wishing you the best, considering,
Andy.

Sorry, I got distracted.
There’s a great article in today’s AJC that should be an inspiration to all the chickenhawks here. You, and your children should enlist right now.
Americans need to get serious about the war against international terrorism and start encouraging more young men and women to join the military, a top Army general said Friday.
Lt. Gen. Russel Honore, commander of the First Army based at Fort Gillem in Forest Park, said in a speech at the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Decatur that many people in the United States tend to let the events of their everyday lives overshadow the fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
But because of the nature of the enemy, he added, it is important for Americans to understand what is at stake for the nation and to make concerted efforts to keep the ranks filled.
“We can’t have a part of America say, ‘Yes, but not my son or daughter.’”
Stop drooling on your keyboards. Put your money where your mouths are. Andy, time to make good on that threat to go to Baghdad. Make sure your kids enlist, too.
What are you waiting for?

The recent Iranian rocket tests were just firecrackers celebrating Iraqi Shia’s own fourth of july independence day which occurred earlier as US troops were forced to stand down and redeploy on a Shia timetable and on a Shia order.
And just look at the spill over effect on the intifada yesterday as hundreds of PLO women charged israeli entrenchements and tanks and became a military element foiling their siege of a holy mosque.
that’s not business as usual, people. We are in a new phase of the Iraqi war. This war is for Shia independence. This war is not the global war on terror. This war is the result of 100 years of western imperial complicity in the persectution of Shia arabs in Iraq. The US and Britain, and France importuned the total disenfranchisement of the Shia majority in Iraq from that country’s natural resources and political power.
The latest events in Iraq spilled over to the intifada and now the entire Islamic Zeitgeist has quantum-leaped forward like when the Berlin Wall came down.
Didn’t anyone notice that there wasn’t even one E. German guard who objected to people climbing on that wall, which for 40 years would have earned a hail of bullets? not one? Why? because the zeitgeist had changed. It’s when everyone is hip to a new rule, a new paradygm, or a new world.
that’s what happened in Iraq and Palestine this week. They know they cant lose now. They know they’ll probably prevail, no matter what. Once the zeitgeist shifts so tectonically, there’s no going back.
Expect a big announcement from the chimp: after the elections.

By RW-(monkeyshines) - November 4, 2006 - (drivel from the New York Post on the NY Times account of Iraqi nuclear secrets in Arabic being posted on a US government website thanks to Bush.)
Would someone like to tackle the question of how this information put us in imminent danger when posted on the internet, but was nothing to give a second thought to in the hands of Saddam Hussein? Keep in mind this would have been Saddam with no sanctions against him by now.
Sure.
But among the documents posted were roughly a dozen that nuclear weapons experts said constituted a basic guide to building an atom bomb. They were accounts of Mr. Hussein’s nuclear program, which United Nations inspectors dismantled after the 1991 Persian Gulf war.
Got that? Thanks to UN weapons inspections, Saddam hadn’t been able to do zip about nukes for the remaining 13 years of his rule.
He had no reactors, no uranium, plutonium, yellowcake, etc. Virtually all of his nuclear physicists were either dead or gone.
He did have some old files, which had been kept secret, until US invaders seized them in 2003.
And thanks to Bush administration stupidity, this “Nuclear Weapons for Dummies” handbook, in Arabic no less, is now in the public domain.
Next question??
PS - I’d appreciate an update on the enlistment plans the neocons here have. I’m sure you’ll accept Lt. Gen. Honore’s invitation to sign up. Make sure your children do, too.

The Iraqi document is marked “Draft FFCD Version 3 (20.12.95),” meaning it was preparatory for the “Full, Final, Complete Disclosure” that Iraq made to United Nations inspectors in March 1996. The document carries three diagrams showing cross sections of bomb cores, and their diameters. On Sept. 20, the site posted a much larger document, “Summary of technical achievements of Iraq’s former nuclear program.” It runs to 51 pages, 18 focusing on the development of Iraq’s bomb design. Topics included physical theory, the atomic core and high-explosive experiments. By early October, diplomats and officials said, United Nations arms inspectors in New York and their counterparts in Vienna were alarmed and discussing what to do.

I read the article about the military newspapers, and no I’m not surprised.
I never thought I would be more proud of citizens from another country than I am of our own. This from Canada…
EDMONTONIANS RALLY FOR TROOPS HUNDREDS BRAVE BITING WIND TO CHEER ON WOUNDED SOLDIERS HOME FROM KANDAHAR
You are telling your soldiers today that Canada is worth fighting for, and for a soldier, it just doesn’t get any better than that,” Col. Vance told the cheering crowd, many of them wearing poppies or yellow ribbons.
From Canada again…

Look, idiot… it was worthless to Iraq, because Iraq didn’t have the fuel or the hardware to make anything but… more plans!
That’s thanks to UN weapons inspectors, which Saddam was eager to host again on the eve of the 2003 invasion. But Bush’s Operation Pointless Storm was too vital to be stopped, wasn’t it?
But those plans (in Arabic!) may not be worthless to the six Arab nations that have just announced a joint nuclear project.
Of course, these countries, awash in oil, say they’re seeking peaceful nuclear energy.

I have asked this question on more than one occasion, yet no liboRAT seems to want to answer. So here it goes again:
In the 1960s, when liberalism really became a part of this nation thanks in part to narcotics, unfortunately, signing up to serve or being a part of any government enforcement agency meant you were a “pig.” Just ask the Clintons about that. This sick liberal mentality carried on through the 1970s at the end of the Vietnam Conflict. At that time, soldiers returning home were spat upon and called baby killers (sound familiar?).
In the 1980s during the Reagan years, military servers were called murderers, especially after the 1986 Tripoli F-111 bombing raid (that shut Khaddafi the hell up, didn’t it?).
In the 1990s, during Gulf War 1, freakshows of the left, especially those in San Freaksicko, called our troops murderers and protested with assinine things like “No Blood For Oil!” During the election of 1992 with the left’s main squeeze Clintoon, military service wasn’t important when going up against an incumbent WWII Navy pilot president.
Suddenly out of nowhere in the 2004 campaign, these same libopigs who trashed Vietnam Vets and others who b!tched about the “military industrial machine” realized that their hero, sKerry, was a whopping 4-month Christmas time Vietnam veteran with a few band-aid Purple Hearts, and he STILL won’t release his records, that Bush DID do. sKerry to this day has not SUED or even REFUTED what the Swift Boat Vets accused him of. Meanwhile, the horseass left remained silent.
Now here we are in 2006, and again suddenly the Jackal Democrit liboloon left is having orgasms all over the place on military service.
So, the question remains: exactly WHEN did you limpwristed liberals suddenly surmise that the military was important and service in it made one a “true” patriot?
Bonus question: since you jackhole neoStalinist liberals are so pantyp!ssing over :”serving” for a cause one believes in, exactly how many of you filthy RATs have volunteered YOUR TIME to build a habitat for humanity home for or the “poor” instead of sitting on your FATASSES supporting a neomarxist party that merely DOES THE JOB FOR YOU WITH OTHER PEOPLE’S MONEY?

Sybil Bon Idiot,
Au contraire, many of you moonbats have said that Cheney should be fighting over there - along with Rumsfeld. That is an undeniable fact.
Furthermore, not that it is any of your freaking business, but my kid is only 12, so you can take your chickensquawk parrot points and stick them up your ridiculous and antiquated 1960s version of a horses’ a$$.

Markus,
How many of these moonbats signed up to go to a civil war in Kosovo when their beloved Clinton was President?
Wars to them are nothing but opportunities to bring down our Presidents and diminish our position in the world.
To quote Sybil Bon AssHat, “I rest my case”.

Amen. They give a damn about military service like a lost drug addict gives a damn about quitting. Now let’s see how many of these buttplug liberals step up to the plate and actually answer two direct questions. It’s really, really hard for them to do you know without spinning off into another subject…

Markus,
Actually some drug addicts do care about quitting, but the Left are addicted to the concept of mass national suicide.
Another analogy is that marriage was “just a piece of paper” for decades (remember Murphy Brown and all the beautiful people in Hollywood? Remember how they scorned Dan Quayle?) but now it is an absolute RIGHT and NECESSITY.

Any declaration of war must have a nation’s ideology in sight when forming the language to justify the war. From that you can get a clear strategic mission statement for your army, so that they can plan.
Ideology is a nation’s political goals as expressed by free people living in a free nation. The only good thing about communism was that it is godless. Its the only point where our constitution and Marx met.
We are only seeing the first couple of innings of how Iraq is evolving. Iraq for Iraqis.
Not Iraq for BP oil, (a real world uncle sam).
If I propose we outlaw forever the establishment of any religion by our government in this country, what kind of commie am I?
Democrats and commies: People think that those two words are synomyms.

Point taken about drug addicts, hence my careful wording “lost.” Regarding marriage, meh, Hollywood has mocked that enough that even liberals are saying it’s a farce and therefore gays should join in the “fun” too.

Democrats and “commies” or not synonymous. Liberals and commies are… at least according to what they stand for. Karl Marx speaks for them starting with the “progressive” word.

PoFo,
In reality, there is no such thing as a “godless” society. Communism made their leaders their gods; Liberals defer to Darwin and others. A Utopian dream is nothing but a Marxist version of a prayer.
I won’t even bother “enlightening” you about our Constitution as you are too enamored with your own incredibly words to pay attention to what anyone else says.

No it’s not. Prove it.

I don’t know. You tell me. But one thing is clear. Army officers were NOT pleading for recruits then, so your question is c-rap.

I see that Sybil bon finchie ran out the clock again. Maybe tomorrow we’ll hear his tall tales of how a Saddam without sanctions and billions of dollars from oil revenue, along with the ability to make chemical, biological, and atomic weapons, was going to stick to simply murdering a few hundred thousand of his own people and be a peaceful force for good in the rest of the world.
It’s also a little funny that the Sybils of the world claim to care so much for innocent Iraqis now, when they really wanted to just leave them to be slaughtered.

By Markus - November 4, 2006 05:19 PM - I have asked this question on more than one occasion, yet no liboRAT seems to want to answer. So here it goes again: blah blah blah blah…
Markus, you ignorant twit. You apparently live in a universe where there’s a homicidal Communist (probably allied with Osama) under every… Bush.
Sorry. In the real world, that’s not true.
Stories of returning Vietnam vets getting routinely humiliated make for great scenes in “Rambo”, but it rarely happened. Viet vets attended my college. They never had a problem. (Were you even born then?)
Everybody I knew was happy when Reagan attacked Tripoli after the bombing of a Berlin disco. Khadaffi deserved it.
Everybody I know thought Operation Desert Storm was a just and noble cause. A dictator has tried to take over a neighbor. A true international coalition of the willing pushed him back. Kuwait was freed.
Now, if you want to believe that the 65% of Americans who think Bush’s Iraq occupation has never been justified are all raving Marxist-Leninists (who worship at Osama’s feet), be my guest.
It must be very exhausting and time consuming to nurse all these persecution fantasies. You have my sympathy.
Vote the Bush GOP out November 7th.

“Markus, you ignorant twit. You apparently live in a universe where there’s a homicidal Communist (probably allied with Osama) under every… Bush.”
Actions always speak louder than words, you good little terrorist appeasing Stalinist liberal.
“Stories of returning Vietnam vets getting routinely humiliated make for great scenes in “Rambo”, but it rarely happened. Viet vets attended my college. They never had a problem. (Were you even born then?)”
You are more than delusional. Revisionist history is one thing, but flat out denial about how our Vietnam Vets were treated is the most disgusting thing any American alive can admit to. Yeah I know you pathetic liberals are denying it with your blogs, but the truth is out there.
Read a book, idiot.

“Everybody I knew was happy when Reagan attacked Tripoli after the bombing of a Berlin disco. Khadaffi deserved it.”
I’m so sure. Not where I lived at the time. The protesters thought it was going to start WWIII.
“Everybody I know thought Operation Desert Storm was a just and noble cause. A dictator has tried to take over a neighbor. A true international coalition of the willing pushed him back. Kuwait was freed.”
Then either you were too young to watch Wolfman Blitzer interview those “NO BLOOD FOR OIL” freaks or you are in a state of denial, so to speak.
“Now, if you want to believe that the 65% of Americans who think Bush’s Iraq occupation has never been justified are all raving Marxist-Leninists (who worship at Osama’s feet), be my guest.”
I never said that. If I did, quote me here. You are the queen of keeping people’s comments for future reference, and don’t think for one minute I don’t know that.
“It must be very exhausting and time consuming to nurse all these persecution fantasies. You have my sympathy.”
I’m simply a reactionary to you liberals, that’s all. And if you want to lead me to believe you are some sort of moderate or centrist, you need to keep on walking, because I can sniff out a liberal even through a PC/laptop screen.

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot…
Exactly WHEN did you limpwristed liberals suddenly decide that military service was IMPORTANT.
Exactly WHAT have you liberals done for the “poor” in a voluntary manner like VOLUNTEERING YOUR TIME for building a Habitat For Humanity Home… since you liberals are so p!ssy over the amount of non-volunteers for “Bushies” war.
ANSWER THE QUESTIONS.

I think Kerry should not have apologized for anything. He obviously meant what he said, and his excuse of a botched joke was weak. In my experience, the smartest and the brightest do not join the military. He’s right. If you can’t navigate the educational system in our country, you will end up stuck in Iraq (or wherever the Bush family is currently sending pawns). Is that troup bashing? No. They are intelligent, good, brave, hard-working soldiers who don’t deserve to die in a bad war, but let’s not pretend that equals educated.

Kudos sct.
Nancy Pelosi recently stated one of her early agenda items will be to crack down on “K Street,” the Abramoff/Bob Ney/Ralph Reed lobbying organization. Is such a crackdown one of her “West Coast liberal values” that Mac Collins says is too liberal for Georgia? Or do Republicans want to keep the grease flowing?

So JK f*ed up a joke. You’d rather hang out with a church leader who “didn’t use” the meth he bought from a gay prostitute? Sounds like “didn’t inhale,” doesn’t it?
Guess what, that preacher—make note!—was a Republican.
