Flavored condoms recommended

“Safer sex, condoms, dental dams and masturbation — welcome to college!” Such is the cheerful greeting parents and students arriving for fall classes at the University of Georgia from Sexual Health Coordinator Michelle Cohen. She’s available for consultation, but has some advice for the general audience: “Condoms can be used for protection during oral, vaginal and anal sex (I recommend flavored condoms for oral sex)…. Dental dams (rectacular, thin pieces of latex) can be used when performing oral-vaginal or oral-anal sex (these can be found in the Health Promotion Department)” where she works. Free condoms, too. “Remember,” she concludes, “safer sex is better sex!”.

When asked later about the reaction of parents and whether it’s appropriate for a university official to recommend flavored condoms for oral sex, Ms. Cohen said she’d received no negative reaction from parents or anybody else. “To the contrary, I have received positive feedback regarding the information I shared” in the Red & Black campus newspaper. She continued:

“According to 2005 National College Health Assessment data, 68.9 % of UGA students reported engaging in oral sex, yet only 2.8 % report using a condom the last time they did…. Promoting use of flavored condoms encourages use of condoms for oral sex.”

Actually some parents did react negatively. “I was heartsick when I saw that,” said one. “That article —written by someone who I assume is paid by taxpayer money — was so unbelievable that I wanted to just pack my child up and take her home.”

OK, I’m conservative. But I’m with the parent. Here we have at Georgia Tech a university-imposed speech code that, until it was thrown out by a federal judge this week at the behest of two conservative students, prohibited dorm conversation school officials thought “intolerant.” So at one of the state’s flagship universities, officials are highly judgmental about what students say, but at the other are entirely non-judgmental to the point of being promotional about conduct that will be far more consequential to their lives.

Most college students do engage in sex at some point and Ms. Cohen may be right about the percentage who engage in oral sex. They are, after all, of the generation that heard from the top that it’s not really sex. And yes, clinics should respond. But I really don’t want the university’s agent pushing flavored condoms for oral sex as a “welcome to college!” experience.

These are Thinking Right’s back-to-school questions: Should universities govern student speech? And how should state institutions approach issues of what students do, and the values they hold, in their personal lives?

Sex? Yes, I remember sex. I’m married, so sex is alien to me now…it’s not that I’m not interested in sex anymore, it’s just that when I ask my wife for sex, it takes her too long to get through the five stages from grief to acceptance……

I work at one of the top three universities in the state of Georgia, and I have been welcoming our new students in New Student Orientation sessions. I mention the free HIV testing a third party provides twice a month on campus, and I see the looks parents have. They don’t want to think about their children needing such services. But I hear stories from the students (minus their adolescent exaggerations) and it sickens me that students are engaging in risky behaviours. They won’t talk to their parents about it, but they talk to me.

Flavoured condoms are a bit much, in my opinion, and maybe these speeches can be made later on, but we have their undivided attention at New Student Orientation.

Good morning, Jim,

When my daughters went to college, they didn’t need this information. They had parents who had dealt with this subject appropriately while they were adolescents. However, I realize that, that situation is the “exception” and not the “rule.” That being true, with respect to condoms, dental dams, and other sex education information at state supported schools, I want the information available, but I do not want the school to recruit users. That will happen soon enough. Given the certainty of sex occurring sooner or later with most people and given the abdication of the majority of parents in providing this information, it is incumbent upon society to provide a resource for its distribution.

With respect to speech at the post-secondary level (again, in state supported schools), the same liberties should apply as apply in the general society. I have always lived by the premise that one has the right to his or her opinion and to express it regardless of how stupid it is!

If the parents won’t talk about it, then I’d rather the school nurse or Health Services at UGA talk about it. At least it’s a counter to what the kids are picking up at school.

Besides, the entering freshmen at UGA are 18 or over. They aren’t kids anymore to have their parents regulate everything they see and hear. “I just wanted to pack my child up and take her home,” said the mother. Well, she’d better get used to the fact that she’s the mother of a woman, not a child. That’s tough to do, I know.

Flavored condoms, IUDs, and birth control pills aren’t more likely to make college students have sex. They just make it less likely to have undesirable side effects. ;)

Orientation is the perfect time to get the “kids” excited about condoms and stuff. As you all know, as soon as the parents leave that night, all of the freshman are headed to their first college party to drink keg beer and be wooed by older college boys.

Hopefully, they’ll pick up the goodies before they go to the party because we all know once they are at there, all bets are out the door.

If any person thinks that college is not a no-holds-barred free-for-all sex orgy, (and has been for forty years), then that person is a born-again, neoconned Ralph Reedite. Are we to believe that Mr. Wooten is a fascist, racist celibate? I dont think he is, he just wants emoting on this blog. Bring up race? Wow. Bring up Bush war powers? Wow. Bring up sex? Look out below, (pun intended)……ew.

See, you’re supposed to have sex when you’re in college, because after college is the barren dry spell called marriage.

My wife is such a hypochondriac, that it just ruins sex. Everything hurts her. She’s always reading a medical book of symptoms to see what disease of the day she can complain about. She has five digital thermometers for each one of her orafices. She’s like, “Gee, the temperature under my tongue is three degrees warmer than the temperature in my a**….I wonder what that means…?”

I’m like, “It means I’ll take a BJ instead, okay? Now you want to get the Mayo Clinic off the bed, Nurse Ratched?”

That’s why I recommend eight years of college all the way to a doctorate. Find yourself in education, young man.

Do you REALLY think in the heat, and ok, drunken stupor, of the monent, that these young boys and girls are whipping these devices/saran wrap/kiwi prophylactics out and using them? It aint happening folks! And I dont recall seeing any studies that orally transmitted STD’s are rampant at our nations universities either. This is nothing but another liberal hairy armpit feminazi thinking she is saving the world by promoting and joking about being sexually promiscuous in college. We can thank Slick Willy for making young girls all over the world think its “cool” and “popular” to give head by age 12. It seems that everyone wants to be the parent. Everyone thinks they can do a better job. Even if it’s true, they don’t have the standing to be the parent. Schools need to worry about academic issues and let the parents and the students work out the social things.
I see all of this brouhaha as the inevitable result of the “trophies for all” mentality that wants to protect every child from the realities of life and social interaction.
Not only do students have the right to free speech on campus, I believe they have the right to as mean and insensitive to the next student as they want to be. Let society sort them out in the real world.

Realist,

We get older and they stay the same age.

To everyone else,

It’s really funny how some parents automatically assume that every other kid engages in sexual activity except for theirs. Let me tell you something, when you drop Bobby or Sally off at the dorm, they will be on the prowl immediately. What do you expect? More an more kids engage in oral sex as an alternative to sexual intercourse in order to prevent STDs, pregnancy, and virtue (I still wonder about that). I don’t think that we should criticize an institution for promoting safe sex among college students. In fact, we should encourage them. As for flavored condoms…if that is an incentive for kids to use them more often then so be it. I’m sure others on this blog have freakier sex lives than that.

Feminazis have created a sex-obsessed culture that pollutes our young people and distracts the American man from more manly pursuits like war and wrestling.

Nice subtle technique to blame it all on the democrats and Clinton.

Yes, advertising for flavored condoms is a bit much, but i’d rather have too much than none at all.

As far as the speech code at Tech. I believe that both parties are in a tight-spot there. The conservative students because they have a point, but are fighting for a political statement. The school because the constraint was wrong, but are trying to prevent harassment. Speaking out against gays and bisexuals (which, regardless of what the conservative students may say, IS THE ISSUE) is one thing - making life difficult and painful for them is a whole new ballgame. There simply is no clean solution to this - how do you allow everyone the rights to free speech, but provent bigots from making others lives more difficult?

Why doesn’t someone circumcise bigoted foreskin???

He’s about as funny as a cup of cold vomit!!

No one is attempting to prevent discussion on the issue of college age student sexual activities. It is the graphic nature of what this very liberal tax payer funded college seems to think is perfectly normal and reasonable to shove down the throats of ALL students. Regardless of their background. Regardless of the sensibiliteis of students who dont indulge in this kind of behaviour and their parents who likely are funding (much if not all) of their education and dont want/expect to be confronted with such graphic propaganda on behalf of buttock bouncers and what many of them likely construe as no holds barred sexual depravity!!

Contained within this mornings article is also the telling point that a far left college has been reasonably prevented by a judge from rampaging on behalf of buttock bouncers and buttock bouncing - thus now critical speech and free speech is allowed on the subject by religious types about the left’s favourite limp wristed minority.

Its a contrast of how lefties think college kiddies should be controlled on certain sexually graphic issues if the lefties had their unfettered way - NO religiously inspired criticism of buttock bouncing and an extremely graphic sexually charged description of the kind of activities and condoms etc that 18/19 year olds supposedly normally indulge in when on this leftist controlled campus. If not ‘deemed’ normal or at least fairly common - then why present such tax payer funded explicit, graphic material for public consumption?

Simple enough when you actually WANT to se what todays subject is!!

Bet our dusky resident homo activist Harold starts simpering and screeching about this!!

Lots of high school kids are smoking dope, too, so should be just buy the stuff for them?? PUH-LEEZ, let’s at least try to guide our young people. In the end, they make their own choices but without guidance, it’s a lot more likely that those choices will have negative consequences!

We have lots of you-know-what, but we never talk about it. I think she likes it but cant be sure. Anyway, I dont care. Me, Wooten, and TFTT has the Right view of all this.

Van, James Dickey wrote Deliverance in the 1960s, and it hit the screens in 1973, some 25 years before Ms. Lewinsky - it seems that when it comes to sodomy, Georgia has always been ahead of the times.

Thanks to your friends and neighbors, north Georgia rivals San Francisco as an international center for same-sex sodomy.

Or is it just heterosexual sodomy that bothers you?

How ridiculous. They need to put an end to this now. The only thing that works is abstinence.

That lady should be handing out abstinence pledges instead of condoms. These pledges should not be put on any flavored paper either. The paper should be bitter and foul tasting, just like marriage.

WARNING: If students choose to eat their pledge paper it could make them sick and hair could end up growing from the palms of their hands.

He said Karr graduated from Hamilton High School around 1983, and for a time was a substitute teacher at the elementary school. “He wasn’t here very long, for about 15 days in August and September of 1996, and I had to remove him from the sub list,” said Jackson. “There were some complaints from parents. We’re adrift — and there are young conservatatives-in-training who drop in. I am a great believer in free speech and think colleges shouldn’t have speech codes. But there is a difference in what you say with your name attached and what you say anonymously.

The questions are: Should universities govern student speech? And how should state institutions approach issues of what students do, and the values they hold, in their personal lives? I generally agree with Fall Line’s 8:57 post.

O’Reilly pushes people in the same direction.

I think you’re being too modest. Judging from your input on this blog, you probably influence your friends and family far more than you give yourself credit.

To stay on topic: Free speech on campus: YES! Controlling students: To attempt is to cause more problems than to solve. Education is the whole point of school, isnt’ it? Educate them thoroughly, and yes, they should know about contraceptive and safety devices. Their choices are their own to live with.

Please note: Some regular posters are so obssessed with Clinton’s working member that they cannot get it out of their minds for even a day. They are jealous that he called someone else for his gratification needs. They insert the former President into any conversation they can, no matter how unrelated. Why? They love him, and they hate themselves for it. (It’s okay Van. Just breathe.) They dream about sharing a special moment. Their lives are hollow and bitter, but they’re still holding out hope. They have already put birthday cards in the mail. “Call me!” they pray. “Please… feel my pain, Mr. President!”

How can a university govern student speech? People can say whatever they want to and if someone is offended then they can either ignore it or take action if it is libelous or slanderous. I don’t see any need for college administrators to invent new avenues of redress via speec codes for someone that has a legitimate complaint. No one should have to support any political or religious organization nor their beliefs in their matriculation fees.

If a student’s personal values are such that their actions infringe on the constitutional rights of another student then they should be expelled. Consentual sex between two adult students is fine regardless of how they agree to do it. Rape is a problem. Given that sexually active college students tend to be promiscous, and unlike the old days when you could kill whatever you got with a dose of penicillin, discussions about safe sex are appropriate.

Regarding Georgia Tech getting that asinine “speech code” thrown out, Praise Be To God! Only liberals would attempt to shut down free speech for “offensive” reasons, specifically “offensive” to them. All across America universities and colleges are showing increased intolerance towards anyone or any group that they deem “offensive” or speaking or promoting an “intolerant tone.” Read that as conservative thought that’s offensive to them. Hell all you have to do is read the vitriol from the whack job loon liberals on this board to see where their mindset is.

There was a big stink a few years ago at UGA when a small group of conservative students tried to hand out flyers about their new club. Some students (those wonderful, all-peaceful, all-tolerant liberals) physically threatened this small group. How laughable. I wish I could’ve been there. It would have been ON. Uh-oh, did I say something just then that might be offensive to a bedwetting liberal? Awe, anyone need a hankie? But that’s par for the course in Wally World’s Wild Ride of Looney Liberalism.

Conservatives get threatened all the time on political forums. Radio talk show hosts that “offend” liberals by saying something they don’t agree with get threatened all the time. And to think loonbat liberals are all for free speech.* MY @SS. What’s prohibited next in liberal Utopian indoctrination society? “Intolerant THOUGHT?” Oops, we already have that… it’s call a “hate crime.” And the freak fringe left liberals call *Conservatives fascist Nazis…

GA State and an “in your face! approach to sexuality, it’s just another example of the hypocrisy of liberalism. It’s ok for liberals to shove their ideas of what they think is great down our throats, but if conservatives so much as even THINK about opening their mouths on a subject they believe in, all hell breaks loose in liberal la-la land and the threats and lawsuits fly.

While on the subject of the insanity of liberalism and colleges, let’s look at some wonderful ways that loonbat liberals feel are good ways to “diversify” or “enlighten” your wonderful child’s college life under the control of liberal dictator professorships in class offerings:

UMass-Amherst - The Social Construction of Whiteness and Women – learn how to hate White Males

UC-Santa Barbara - Feminist Theories of Science and Feminist Scientists – attempts to validate why few women enter the science field (uhmm.. maybe it’s because they are real WOMEN?)

UC-Santa Cruz - Environmental Inequality – Why it’s not fair to be able to have a suburban home if others have to live in inner city project housing

Yale University - Sociology of Heterosexuality – basically teaches that heterosexuality is culturally created (like nature really has nothing to do with men thinking about sex 30 times a day)

Harvard - Multicultural Biblical Criticism – how new interpretive paradigm transforms the exegesis of Christian Testament (oh I’m feeling so much smarter now)

UC-Berkeley - Topics in Film – takes the “money shot” to a whole new intellectual level

Vassar - Black Marxism – confronting and countering global racism, famine, and poverty (I wonder if they mention Somalia and tribal wars in Africa?)

UCLA - Cultural History of Rap – attempts to validate and humanize the culture of rap (I wonder if they mention night-club shootings and gold chain/Escalade bling stealing?)

Bowdoin Gay and Lesbian Cinema – re-writing history through film (ala Brokeback Mountain and flaming cowboys… gives “Dude Ranch” a whole new meaning)

Duke University Girl Culture – think women turning “butch” and men turning into wussies (seems to me that’s already happening in liberal sheep land)

University of Michigan How to be Gay: Male Homosexuality and Initiation – self-explanitory

University of Pennsylvania Feminist Critique of Christianity – rewriting the Bible for feminazi validation of suppression of Western women (no mention if a sister course on Islam is offered)

Antioch College Cuba: An Experiment in Human Equality – yet more proof that liberals love dictatorships and communism due to “equality for all”

Your tax dollars hard at work in liberal la-la land folks! Can you imagine the uproar from the loonbat liberal left if a college offered a class called “Capitalism and why it works” or “The roots of Christianity in traditional American values?”

Gee thanks loonbat liberals. I am so more enlightened now and feel SO much smarter that those stupid neocons. I don’t even have to worry about terrorism anymore knowing that all we need to do is just leave them alone at tell Israel to go to hell. Ok, who’s got a windmill and a jackass & buggy for sale?

“*After Ruth Malhotra and another student filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against Georgia Tech in the spring, the outspoken member of College Republicans said she expected some negative reaction.

She was surprised, though, by the death threats and personal attacks.

Some fellow students threatened to choke her between classes. Others said they would throw acid on her at Tech’s graduation.

Someone stuffed her campus mailbox with Twinkies snack cakes —- implying that she was yellow on the outside (Malhotra is Indian) but white on the inside.

Her lawsuit challenges Tech on its campus policies aimed at protecting students from intolerance.*”

JK, If I knew you personally, a simple mention of your yard woes and homeowner assoc troubles would find me bright and early on a saturday morning helping you without you even having to ask. Thats just how I am.

Regarding biscuits, I cant help there. My mother and grandmother make excellent biscuits. And I believe more than one woman in my life has been brought home to “meet momma” and learned some of those secrets first hand. I suppose that is how some trades or secrets are passed on. Alas, if someone is not the type to be taken home to meet momma, they may never learn these secrets I suppose.

In any case, good look with the yard, and with the biscuits too I reckon.

Realist, you are too kind. Like I said before, you profile and stereotype people who disagree with you on matters of public policy. My disagreement (based more on my belief in Christ’s actual message, BTW, than on the contradictory GOP talking points) causes you to assume I am a loose-moraled, drug-addicted, man-hating slut. This is not true of me, and it’s not true of the large portion of the population you label “lefty” or “lib scum” or whatever else you call us. It is with me as you claim about yourself: my hand reaches out in kindness to others all the time, and I’m quite capable of representing the genteel qualities you claim to admire.

Where we diverge, I think, is that I don’t think it’s my place to judge others for being different, while you seem to think it’s your duty. I do enjoy pointing out, perhaps too frankly, the hypocrisies of such judgmenal behavior, while you defend it to the death.

What you call judgemental JK, I call protecting the moral fabric of our society and more importantly, protecting my own children. The rights of individuals to beleive and practice what they want to believe is one thing, but the organized and systematic teaching and preaching of these “beliefs” crosses those boundaries and has no place in government or education. If I have raised my children to believe in abstinence, and day one of thier college experience they are faced with a woman, who clearly comes across as a university official in position of authority, and that person is condoning, and making light of premarital, promiscuous v**** and oral sex, I have every right to be outraged as a parent. This is not a function of the education system. Fine, you want to offer your advice, send out invitations to a seminar, let it be a CHOICE. Thats a word you lib scum love to use right, CHOICE. Wait I forgot, its only called choice when its a right you guys feel entitled to. Bush got 44% of the Conn. vote in ‘04. The state is represented by more Republicans than Democrats in the US House.

It is not impossible for a Republican to win in Conn. They voted Republican in the ‘88’84’80’76’72 presidental elections.

Yet the Republicans are so weak right now they will sell out their values and vote for a very liberal Senator rather than fight for a Republican. How sad is that.

If this were an endorsement of the current Republican administration this race would be very winnable for a Republican. Republicans might even win a close race because Lieberman and Lamont would split the liberal vote.

A protest vote just goes to show how far down the Republicans are right now. Abandon ship!! Cut and Run.

Folks,

TFTT hasn’t lost its (him/her who knows) mind. TFTT is here to feed a pathetically misguided desire to matter. “Please let me matter, to someone, anyone, somewhere. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO ME!” To quote: Attention must be paid.

TFTT is not to be taken seriously for these reasons:

TFTT has no mind of its own, it only spouts what it hears others say.

TFTT is a true reactionary. No real ideas despite the empty claims of “visionary conservatism”. Just reaction to others more original and considered thoughts and cries of “librul” and “vermin” and “leftist” to anyone who is even remotely to its right or who dares to disagree with the Hannity talking points it chooses to use for its reaction.

TFTT has built the flimsiest of fake-personas: The wise old Brit here to straighten out us lefty yanks. The problem is that it has never gotten closer to the UK than to watch a little TV in its trailer in Valdosta. But pay close attention to the word in the posts. It is clear for anyone who looks that this jerk-off is a fake. Sentence structure, word choice, it’s all there if you look. Also notice that if no one calls it on this fake Brit garbage the instances of Brit-speak virtually disappear. But call it on this and it comes flowing out like poo through a goose. Suddenly its sod off this and bollocks that. Inconsistency is the author of revelation. (Let the great English Warrior tell you what English thinker and author said that. Any good Brit would know. I do after all.)

Why do I care? I have a good reason which has nothing whatsoever to do with political philosophy. It’s a reason that TFTT has yet to figure out. In others words, it just doesn’t get it.

Its next predictable post will be to either act like I don’t bother it (which I know isn’t true) or to say I’m pathetically obsessed with my intellectual superior, which is the biggest joke of all.

In spite of any bile spewing billingsgate I’ll continue to pop in a few times a week to point out what is rapidly becoming obvious to more and more people.

TFTT is a…

Men have authority over women because Allah has made the one superior to the others and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen (parts) because Allah has guarded them. As for those from whom you you fear disobedience admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them. Then if they obey you, take not further action against them. Allah is High, Supreme.

Jim, I’m with you on the issue of sexual content in the college open house discussions. I don’t want some college employee promoting sex as a “welcome to college” experience. I expect my children to refrain. I’m sure some of them won’t, but I think it’s tacky to say that having lots of sex is part of the college experience. While sex is probably a big part for some, I believe there are many college kids who don’t participate. The approach described in your article seems to be an “in your face” approach. If they want to offer this information, perhaps they should offer a voluntary orientation geared towards the sexual portion of the college experience. Then those who want to discuss it openly, or get the materials could attend without subjecting those who don’t want it thrown in their faces to it.

As for the “free speech”, I’m not really up on that topic but I do think colleges should have a right to expect certain conduct on campus, and that includes limiting racial slurs, obscene words and gestures, or obscene literature from being passed around on campus.

That’s my 2 cents worth….

Richard, we are not supposed to judge but we are supposed to hold people accountable for their actions. Some don’t understand the difference. Some of us interpret the difference to be condemnation to hell. A girl that offers herself to be passed around freely for sexual use is a slut. Period. No one’s condemning her to hell for it, but she is a slut. Jesus himself acknowledged women with this behaviour, but he didn’t condemn them to hell. There’s a difference. To call it like you see it is not being judgemental; it’s being realisitc (no pun intended….)

I have actually said to my own daughters that their attire looked slutty (before I made them go change). I’ve also told one of my daughters that she is too much of a flirt to have a boyfriend. I love them with all my heart, but if they are acting inappropriate, as children (and adults for that matter) will do, then I’m going to call them out on it.

By Renee

August 17, 2006 02:03 PM | Link to this

What’s the fascination with the word slut today? If a girl has sex with 5 guys (over a year period) she’s called a slut. However, if a guy has sex with 10 different girls over that same period, he’s called a stud?

Sounds like those crying slut are sexest.

Caught you.

I was waiting around to see if you’d follow your true form, and what do you know I was right. I tell you I’m going and here comes two paragraphs filled with bile and chock full of fake Brit-speak. (Even called me a Wanker. Nice)

As for how long I’ll keep this up. Who knows, I may lose interest on the morrow. But for now I think I’ll just keep going.

Is this an obsession. You never know. But one thing is clear. You are in here every day, all day long, post after post saying the same old thing, for HOURS at a time. Now if you are disabled, bedridden or home bound then you have my apologies. But if not, then I think the obsession is on the other foot.

In others words. Is this really all you have to do in your life? To insult people in this blog? That’s just sad.

Sad, but off the point. The point is that you can’t answer one simple question that would shut me up forever. Who was the English author I quoted.

Watching you run from that little fact is giving me infinite enjoyment.

Well, I have to go. After all, there’s more to life than this little blog. At least for some of us.

And to clarkslawga, I am disappointed in the way you keep going after TFTT. I’ve had some really good debates with you and your posts can be thoughtful. Renee, a girl that has sex with 5 different guys in a year is a slut. A guy that has sex with 5 different girls in a year is certainly not a gentlemen, and no one that I’d want my daughter to bring home. Boys and men are also accountable for being chaste. Unfortunately society has never frowned upon the male’s sexual conquests, but I guarantee that if you ask the folks who oppose sexual promiscuity, they will tell you they feel the same way about both genders. It’s just that the names we’ve come up with for the males are less offensive. Don’t you remember the terms “ally cat” or “player”?

Dear Iraqi Soldier, I am fighting right along side you son. You see, back home, we are fighting a threat just as real as any IED or RPG that you may face. Its a threat to our way of life as we know it. The threat is the undermining of American patriots and servicemen just like you son, and you wont beleive where the threat is coming from! Its coming from the liberal congress that many of us trusted and beleived in when they voted to send troops into Iraq. Thats right, the very ones who voted to send you in are now backing out on you and abandoning you one after another. So my son, we are here fighting for you. Not to mention working hard at our jobs each day and sending our tax dollars to Washington so that you can have the equipment and food and tools you need to win this war. You are doing a great job son, and we appreciate you and your work for this country. Keep doing your part, and we conservatives will keep doing ours on your behalf!!

I seldom if ever agree with anything that Jerry Falwell has to say, but if you send your sons and daughters to Liberty University, you know exactly what to expect. LU is a private university that stands and falls in the marketplace of ideas and economics. It is not being supported by your tax money, and it should not be.

Land grant colleges and public (tax supported) universites have a responsibility to open their doors to anyone who can qualify academically regardless of their political values or sexual proclivities.

Indoctrination into the fine art of preventing sexually transmitted diseases is the sole purview of the informed parent and Cosmopolitan Magazine.

The difference between Republicans and Democrats is simple.

Democrats are the average American. Middle and Lower class financially. The U.S. military is made up primarily (over 90%) of this group.

Republicans are generally richer and know there’s an easy way to get rid of Democrats: start needless wars and send soldiers to die for no reason. Start a war, send a soldier (Democrat) to die and you can turn the country into all Republicans (because all the Democrats will be dead).

Bush is using this strategy and needs to kill off a few more soldiers before he calls back the military.

Anyone else notice how TFTT stops posting at the same time five times a day? While I admire his religious discipline, one has to be suspicious of him especially when coupled with the fact that his opinion of American Freedom is identical with Osama Bin Laden’s.

Because nothing is at it seems, I’m thinking we may have a bored Al Queda operative trapped indoors in a terror cell. Why? because if you look at the content of TFTT’s posts at face value, you would have to deduce that he’s from the AL KA KA GAY MEN’S CHOIR.

Now get this: if you change just one letter, you get, Al Queda Pays Men 2Die. Now I spend alot of time decyphering code as a hobby, and also, I narrate military end game scenarios for a defense corp. think tank. I’m always playing mind games like, “What if, What would it take… How many men….”

TFTT’s posts have an easily identifiable pattern that emulates variations of the “death to america” chanting which betrays a terrorist philosophy behind the dullard syntactical choices.

I think a call to Homeland Security is in order here.

THe way to deal with Iran is wait until the next leadership/mullah hate jews/the west fest is in full swing in Tehran or wherever and then drop everything the USAF has handy on them. At least six daisy cutters etc. Removing the entire leadership suddenly and instantly will give the Iranians a chance to pick a govt that’s not going to kill them and everyone else in the region.

Ugo and Dusty - still WAITING!! And yes, I have asked the question many times. Do you know why? Because none of the republicans wants to answer. You try and shift the topic and change things around.

BOTTOM LINE - Bush screwed up by attacking Iraq and his actions killed thousands of U.S. soldiers. He said we attacked to get rid of the weapons of mass destruction - which don’t exist. In other words, we bullied the rest of the world around and attacked a country for no good reason. Until the cowardly republicans admit their God Bush screwed up, I’ll keep asking. Hell, they don’t even have the balls to make up an answer!!

Republicans screwed up by attacking Iraq and whenever anyone asks why, they instantly state the corporate line: “What is your plan to get out of Iraq?” Gets old. You have no clue why you went there and you have no clue how to get out. Dumba$$es.

sct: I’m gonna hang around just long enough to answer your 5:21 question.

No Hell you don’t hold the DemoNcraps responsible. If you did, you’d be p** with all the “so-called” leaders of the DemoNcrap Party that have distanced themselves from the Iraqi war, AFTER VOTING FOR THE WAR, it’s not even funny! They’re exactly like the “friend” in the bar, they voted FOR the war THEN RAN LIKE HELL WHEN IT DIDN’T GO AS PLANNED, like the gutless coward traitors they are.

I think THEY ALL should be held accountable for any misdeeds in Iraq…DemoNcraps AND Republicans!!! Not just the party I don’t particularly like or agree with, as you “boys” do!

Good night and sweet dreams!

Woah! Who led this blog train wreck today! Multiple ID thiefs, like mine done at 1:28 and 1:30 specifically (when I’m off the blog). The dumb@ss ID stealer forgot that as well has how I spell “Hitlary” which I really spell Hitllary. But what do you expect from a jackass limpnoodled liberal not even sharp enough to sweat the details?

Then we had some loud-mouthed limpwrist loonbat lib get his pretty pinko panties in a wad after spitting hate venom about people’s families here. Then someone called him out on it, and he took it as a physical threat. Boy, you ladies on the left are touchy, aren’tcha? You buttpirates can dish it out, but you can’t take it.

Finally we had the usual “why don’t you go join the war chickenhawk” bullsnot from the loony left. Hey, someone who posted about building habitat homes gave me a new name for neolibs who shout from the mountaintops on what to do for people in this nation: “chickenoodles!”

Hey chickenoodle liberals, why don’t you get off your high jackass and volunteer YOUR time and money to feed the poor, shelter the homeless, and other causes that you mental midgets believe in so much. Otherwise, sit down and SHUT UP about the Iraq war and not serving.

But leave it to the loonbat freakshow left to drag a forum down to the gutter of sexuality and other low-life formulations of alleged ideas that dwell in the dimentia of the liberal mind. Great stuff!

Apparently a loonbat named Rod thinks that Bush lied. Well, another ignoramus needs a memory refresher I need on lies and WMDs. Both of these clows were presidential candidates. Did they lie too? Speak up or shut up Rod:

“Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime … He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation … And now he is miscalculating America’s response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction … So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real…” - Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003

All of this contention over the advocacy of safe sex is at worst, bringing the issue to light, which is a good thing. Most parents never even address the issue, especially conservative ones like mine. I wonder how many parents actually know much if anything about contraception and safe sex. I’ve discussed topics of safe sex and conteception with some of my female co-workers, all of which have children and are in their late 20’s to mid 30’s. I was suprised to discover that most of them had little knowledge of safe sex with the exception of using a condom. (this is coming from persons living in Miami, FL where all the liberals live, which makes me wonder what many conservatives know about safe sex)

I do not have any children, but I’m sure most if not all parents would like their children to learn about sex from an prefessional educator such as Ms. Cohen, instead of learning it from watching MTV. Many people would agree that promoting safe sex education is a good thing, so what is wrong about educating young adults about all the facets of safe sex, which includes the use of flavored condoms. I’m sure every parent would rather have their child learn about flavored condoms from the sexual health department at the university than having their child come in to that very same depratment and asking what to do now that they have contracted a sexually transmitted infection. Many schools do not even have a sexual health department and the UGA students and parents should feel fortunate that the university considers their personal and sexual health as important as their education.

Look around at the women of Georgia. Lowlife, low class tramps, most of whom have been sexually active since grade school. Georgia always is a frontrunner in STDs, teen pregnancy, single motherhood. This Cohen woman knows the kind of lowlifes she’s dealing with. Good for her, I say.

Back to the topic of this blog originally, morality is the thread to the fabric of a nation. I think my comment at 11:20am and some college class offerings speaks volumes why our nation continues to degenerate into something like Sodom and Gamorrah. After all, according to liberals and the ACLU, it’s more important to not offend anyone than to stop something like NAMBLA. They have rights too dontcha know.

Hey UGA dad-

You have no basis for generalizing Georgia women. It’s more regional within a region. Alpharetta wealthy girls are much cleaner than inner city ho’s.

Oh, and UGA is made up of nothing but a bunch of drunk rednecks. We Tech grads are always your bosses.

The issue here is not whether we should flavor a few condoms, or wear edible panties…. cause we should. (wink).

No, the issue here is whether we can we hold an entire University responsible for the actions of a few girls-gone-wild stunt doubles….for if we do, then shouldn’t we blame it on the Bossanova? and if the Bossanova is guilty, then isn’t that an indictment of music and booze in general? Well, you can withhold healthcare for postpubescent nymphs if you want, but I’m not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth Yanni!!!!!

Wow. I have never seen someone make such a big deal (wrongfully) out of one ill-advised word (“recommended”). I am a student at the University of Georgia, and having attended several of Michelle Cohen’s (a.k.a., “liberal hairy armpit feminazi” [sic]) sexual health promotion programs, I can say with factual surety that Michelle would be the last person to push risky, or any, sexual behaviors on anyone. Michelle may use wit and humor to keep students engaged and informed, but that does not in any way imply that she “forces” students to have sex. On the contrary, Michelle will be the first to tell you that abstinence is the only way to insure that sexual behaviors will not end in STI transmission or pregnancy.

She will also tell you, though, that if one makes the decision to engage in sexual behaviors (only after long, serious thought to insure that doing so will not conflict with one’s personal, religious, and ethical beliefs, or the law), one should do so in a way that will minimize the risks inherent in sexual activity. The statistically best way (after abstinence) to prevent STI transmission is to use a barrier during sex, such as a condom or dental dam. Michelle relates factual, scientific data, such as this, to help students make an informed decision. This factual data, and Michelle, strongly promote abstinence as the best way to insure that no negative consequences will result from sexual behavior, but Michelle also includes other information for those who do choose to engage in sexual activities.

The service Michelle provides to the community is indispensable, and the programs she gives are voluntary. No one is forced to read her (occasional) articles in the newspaper, or to attend her programs across campus. And yet, students continue to beg for information, and the attendance at her events is staggering. Why is this? Because the same parents who in the above comments promote the secrecy and shame surrounding all sexual acts, (even when between monogamous, married, heterosexual couples) deny their offspring access to this information, or are in fact ignorant of it themselves. Instead of protecting their children from the evils of sex, they are, in reality, making it more likely that they will engage in risky behavior. Those students on campus whose religious tenants promote abstinence before marriage sometimes (more often than any would like to think) engage in non-v**** penetrative sex (oral or anal sex) so that they can continue to claim the title of “virgin.” I don’t know about you, but if it has SEX in the title (oral SEX, anal SEX,) I consider it to be sex. Many of these students, though, have never had a serious discussion about sex with anyone, including their parents. Telling a person “sex is bad,” is not enough.

When Michelle talks about abstinence, she makes sure to tell students that “abstinence,” means not engaging in oral sex, anal sex, v**** penetrative sex, or any other form of bare genital touching. Quite frankly, I think that in this regard, she would be a much better role model than the “concerned parents” who are so outraged by the gall of this maverick school administrator. Before you attack Michelle, maybe you should have a real discussion about sex with your child (who is, as someone above pointed out so aptly, an ADULT now). Do you know everything there is to know about sexual health? No? Well, then maybe you should encourage your child to take advantage of Michelle’s expertise in the area. Not only does it help your peace of mind, knowing your adult student can make an informed decision, it helps your student stay safe and healthy as well. Isn’t that what every parent wants?

Michelle is a wonderful representative of the UHC Sexual Health department, and the fact that she can come out that openly and say to all the students that she has resources and help available says a lot - it says that the university is open and helpful with students in making sexual choices, as well as giving them resources if they need someone to ask a question and are just too shy. Michelle breaks the ice and makes the topic approachable, rather than isolated, so that more students can get more help that they may need and deserve.
