Republicans’ pandering unbecoming

Last week’s pandering by congressional Republicans illustrates why the party is unlikely to attract black voters — and why preference now shifts to Democrats in November’s U.S. House elections, according to a new poll.

Last week’s deal with Democrats to extend expiring, and discriminatory, provisions of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 for another 25 years was an example of election-year pandering. Pure hypocrisy.

The extension is relatively meaningless in terms of protecting anybody’s right to vote in Georgia or elsewhere. What it does is polarize the two parties racially by giving voice and standing to third-rate microphone-grabbers, assuring that every possible dispute, like voter ID, is reframed as one of race.

That advantages politicians in both parties. The more Jesse Jackson and elected officials who appeal at the margins are given stage, the better it is for the Republican Party. Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.) should be on retainer. She is a gift that keeps on giving. She’s guaranteed a safe district, and Republicans wouldn’t have it any other way.

In practical terms, preclearance of proposed changes in districts and election law by the U.S. Justice Department’s civil rights division is inconvenient, costly and polarizing, but largely empty of meaning for ordinary voters. Those who committed the sin for which Georgia is being punished are either dead or out of power. So are their schemes. Public opinion, courts and actual voters are perfectly capable of policing politicians who might be tempted.

The hypocrisy of national Republicans played out in the extension of Voting Rights provisions affecting all or parts of 16 states and based on elections of four decades ago. While the majority would cheerfully extend the discrimination another quarter century, something U.S. Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-Ga.) attributed to “lingering prejudice toward Southerners,” they weren’t willing to apply those same provisions to themselves.

“The House failed to prove that the 16 states subjected to federal ‘preclearance’ of electoral laws are substantively different than the states not covered by the Voting Rights Act,” he said. “Proponents of the bill kept citing problems in Ohio and Florida,” but Ohio is not covered and neither is most of Florida.” Nor will they be, no matter how current their imagined sins.

Before another decade of Voting Rights politics is passed, Georgia will lock into two parties based on race. Or it will have political parties going the way of some mainstream religious denominations, splitting into factions. The Libertarian Party certainly has growth potential here, though it’s not yet a realistic alternative to pandering, big-spending Republicans or pandering, big-government Democrats. For now, it’s a vote cast to the wind.

A national Associated Press-Ipso poll of 1,000 adults contains numbers that should cause Republicans some consternation. When the 789 participants who are registered voters were asked whether they preferred a Republican or Democrat in their U.S. House district, the Dems were favored by 51 to 40 percent. Almost a quarter of conservatives, 24 percent, said they would vote for a Democrat.

I’m not convinced they would. For a conservative, the party of big government is not an acceptable alternative when spending is the cause of one’s discomfort with the party in power. It’s that problem again, always fatal for Democratic prospects. Republicans make themselves unappealing — until Howard Dean opens his mouth and the cut-and-run, anti-military wing takes to the microphones.

You have to believe that the GOP would be far more appealing to whites and blacks alike if it stood solidly on principle, as President Bush does on Iraq and the war on terrorism.

If you’re a black guy and you open your door in an election year, there’s a Republican waiting to pander, just as now. The black Democrats and the white Republicans have done a deal that benefits those in power, and it’s supposed to be evidence that both are looking out for the little guy, the little black guy in particular.

The little black guy and the little white guy would be far better off, and so would the GOP, if the party of limited government, fiscal discipline, strong defense and personal responsibility embraced policies based on core values. Black conservatives and white conservatives alike would be far more inclined to stick around if it came toting principle — four years out of four, not one.

I used to volunteer to hand out campaign pamphlets at malls during the 1990’s. I used a Mr. Microphone gadget to draw attention to myself. A partisan opponent’s volunteer once grabbed my Mr. Microphone…………..once.

Microphone grabbers, (with or without a hyphen), are evidence that the Voting Rights Amendment needs to live forever. People grab things during election campaigns.

They grab campaign signs, too. In Dekalb county’s Oak Grove neighborhood, some children performed a homeland-security-shaming surveillance and capture of a campaign sign grabber. Shame on your, Mr. Charles Buckley. Congrats to Rachel,11, Chase, 8, and Reese, 6.

Politicians grab. At straws. (and straw polls). They grab power. They grab districts. They grab women, and bags, (but then I repeat myself)….. The Voting Rights Amendment has grabbed the attention of voters and most agree it levels the playing field.

This is funny stuff. Its seems liberals are alive and well after all! Medicare part D, voting rights re-authorization, out of control spending, big government, flag change…..

You liberal Republicans are ruining the country. If Cynthia McKinney loses this November maybe she should move to Cobb and run as a Republican!

Samx, you forgot the monarchical President who, in the words of his deputy Attorney General is, “always right.” I guess for him if he wants to keep his job. Republican officials in Kansas, Arizona, Missouri, etc. are quitting the Republican party to run as Democrats. Bill Clinton actually cut the number of government employees. Bush created a huge new money-sucking department. Wooten keeps thinking he is in the 80’s.

I’ll take Bush’s spending on tax “cuts” (the more taxes you paid, the more taxes you got back.. don’t give me that liberal “for the rich” crap) any day over a socialist liberal. I’ll take Bush’s spending on the War On Terror and funding for homeland defense any day to a pathetic liberal democrat who wants to give our money away to the “world” like the worthless corrupt and toothless United Nations; I’ll take Bush’s ideas (even though shot down by cowardly Senators) on allowing taxpayers to choose their own method of retirement over the mandatory socialist security “benefit” taken out of my check bi-monthly that I won’t be getting 25 years from now. I’ll also take Bush’s ideology on FIGHTING radical Islam face to face instead of Clintoon’s Madeliene notsoAlbright idea of treating terrorism as a criminal issue… and signing useless treaties with North Korea… and…

Sure the GOP hasn’t done what a lot of those who voted for them would do, but any day it sure beats the hell out of having a freak like Howard Scream or that consdiscending northeastern arrogant liberal John “those weren’t my medals I tossed” Kerry. ANY DAY.

Political Foreskin,

The reauthorizing of the Voter Right bill, not an amendment - has nothing to do with whatever you were taking about - brain dead. If anything, it does not level anything, it imposes certain restrictions on a few states and how they handle voting - period. It still comes down to unequal enforcement of the law, 16 states are treated differently than the other 34.

Politicians are sleaze balls, they will try to grab the candy from a little child as much as the dollars out of your wallet.

Wooten is 100% CORRECT here!

I’m a moderate Democrat, but the left-wingers of the party are killing me. As soon as I convince my Republican-leaning friends to examine the selfish policies and hypocritical spending of most Republicans, some left-wing nut opens their mouth and scares them back into the GOP camp.

And the renewal of the Voting Rights Act has really gotten under my skin. Who are these people from the Midwest and Northwest - where there is little diversity - to judge us and tell us what to do about discrimination? I know things were bad 40 years ago, but I’m 34 and have no memory of those events or inclination to do the same. Times change. In fact, considering the diversity that exists in the South, I’d say we’re doing all right, or at least as well as the rest of the country would do with our same level of diversity. Honestly, I expected the left-wing nuts to rally for its renewal, but I’m shocked that the Republicans went for it as well. I guess this proves what Westmoreland said about a national lingering bias against the South - the one group of people it’s OK to discriminate against. Again, another example of the blatant hypocrisy of most Republicans. (Westmoreland and Isakson being the exceptions, at times.)

By Ya' kidding, right?

Limited government? Which party is that, the one that wants to listen in on my phone calls, outed a covert CIA officer for political gain, and assumes that domestic opponents are “for the terrorist”?

The party that trashed our own states Democratic senator who served his country honorably?

Fiscal responsibility? We control the presidency and both houses and spending is out of control and seemingly no inclination to reign in a staggering trade deficit with a powerful communist dictatorship. Lenin must be chuckling down in hell as his prediction that we’d sell communists the rope that they’d use to hang us becomes more likely by the day.

I’m a black man who’s voted Republican for three decades. No more. That itch was scratched forever when I witnessed the President holding hands with an Arab dictator whose country educated and financially supported 15 of those savages who attacked us on 9/11. Wake up America.

Jim calls it pandering but it really means that Republicans are now the liberals. Bush will be known as the first “Liberal Republican”. His record speaks for itself.

He nominated Harriet Myers to the Supreme Court.

He is responsible for THE most liberal initiative to pass out of Washington in the past 26 years- Medicare Part D.

He is responsible for the second most liberal legislation enacted since 1980- The Bush/Teddy Kennedy, No Child Left Behind.

If his immigration plan were to pass that would also be one of the most liberal acts since ‘80.

He wasted billions of dollars in handouts to victims and fake victims after Katrina.

He is running up huge deficits, and is big government, how very liberal of him. He signs pork bloated budgets, very, very liberal.

Welcome to the world of the Liberal Republican. A Voting Rights, stem cell, and drug amnesty Republican Congress, liberal, liberal and liberal. You Republicans must be confused as Zell.

And at the same time you feel its all worth while, because soon Bush will reward you with another Liberal value, the activist judge. His next Supreme Court nominee will surely be the “activist” judge you libs need to overturn Roe v Wade.

OK. Let’s go over this one last time.

The people in the midwest and the northwest are not the ones telling us what to do. The preclearance is done by the justice department does the preclearance. The other states are exempted from the provisions in question and that is the issue that bothers many most, including myself.

If the provisions are to be kept them they should be applied to all states. They do serve a useful purpose and are not as restrictive as many want us to believe. (The Voter ID law here passed.) There is nothing wrong with scrutiny as it relates to our most important right, but I know that other disagree and thats fine.

Sure the GOP hasn’t done what a lot of those who voted for them would do, but any day it sure beats the hell out of having a freak like Howard Scream or that consdiscending (sic) northeastern arrogant liberal John “those weren’t my medals I tossed” Kerry.

The debate in the country must return to more civil terms if we are to make any true progress in America.

Jim,

as President Bush does on Iraq and the war on terrorism.

Two different issues but I see you are the minority who thinks this administration is heading in the right direction.

The majority knows Iraq is in a civil war and the DHS is a joke.

We should learn a valuble lesson about having the GOP in power and never let it happen again.

We have a very weak and dangerous administration with no credibilty.

Putin knows this along with the rest of the world and he is playing with W:

“PUTIN: We certainly would not want to have same kind of democracy as they have in Iraq, quite honestly.

BUSH: Just wait”

And this from nutjob Newt:

“Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich says America is in World War III and President Bush should say so.”

W said it right. They are pathetic.

I can’t believe what I am reading. I try to put myself in the Republicans shoes to see their view point and I can’t follow them. It seems to me that the right wing has selective short term and long term memory loss. The party of fiscal repsonsibility, limited government, moral responsibility, and strong defense? Since the Eisenhower era, the Republican party has run huge deficits, grossly expanded government, and quickly blamed others for their own moral shortcomings.

Furthermore, when did throwing billions of dollars at failed military initiatives that the military often did not want, while ignoring our brave veterans been called strong on defense? These are not liberal tendencies. Following the logic of one of the writers, then Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and both Bush presidencies were liberal, while only Johnson from the Democratic party would be called liberal over the last forty years. The Republicans are in charge of all phases of government and they are still looking for ways to blame Clinton for their failed policies and irresponsible spending.

Honestly, look at the record. To be a conservative Republican, one must expand government, spend big, borrow a lot, and pass legislation that tells Americans how to live their lives. Finally, the Republicans have been on the offensive in political discourse for over two decades. The Democratic party took it on the chin from the Republicans for the past three election cycles. Now that they are starting to fight back, the Democrats are being called crass and combative. The comparison one writer made calling the Republican party similar to Israel was so ridiculous as to be delusional. News Briefs (or Boxers): Saddam Hussein is in the 9th day of a hunger strike. He’s threatening to wire his mouth shut to protest the G8 summit that calls for Hezbollah to return the 2 Israeli Prisoners. Protested Saddam: “G8? Oh, no! I coulda had a V8!”

From terror cells to stem cells: Hezbollah, the world’s largest terrorist cell (1.4 million people) has been lobbing Katyusha rockets into Israel using rocket tubes that Condolisa Rice now knows is only good for launching Rockets…….. On Meet the Press today, Rice said, “Who knew the terrorists would trick us like that? Imagine them actually not trying to enrich uranium with those rocket tubes. Did not see that one coming. Is there egg on my face or what?”

Finally, stem cell research is gathering momentum on capitol hill. Karl Rove, however, reiterated the administration position with this: “We were all embryos once. You dont see embryos trying to clone people, now do you? What would happen if test tube babies suddenly tried to enrich uranium in the test tubes, which Condolisa Rice assures me are only good for building H Bombs? Then we’d see a real baby boom….and the terrorists would win, and then the embryos would be traitors and we’ed be throwing the babies out with the former Bathist’s heavy water.”

(Fun Facts): In the run-up to the Iraqi War, Condolisa Rice sunk her teeth into the missile gap controversy of Sunni WMDs!!! And if Condolisa Rice ever wired her own mouth shut in a hunger strike it probably wouldn’t be effective. (Fun Facts)

Sorry getalife I’m getting triple-teamed and I didn’t answer. I didn’t get too many shots to the head but I did get a few kicks to my A—!!! 1)I agree that our SOLD-OUT politicians are NOT going to close the borders. 2) I also agree that it would tough if we invaded Iran BUT do you REALLY want those idiots to get nuclear warheads? I hope you’re not naive enough to think they wouldn’t use them on Israel AND the good ole U.S. WHEN they get long range missiles. BUT IF THEY DO go after Iran these goofy politicians need to get the Hell out of the way and let our military do their jobs. They’re the reason you have the problem in Iraq…self-serving politicians that are more interested in getting reelected than winning a war.

I see closet redneck is still pushing the absurd, twisted lie that the US Govt actually allowed him a passport.

The renewal of the voting act was another completely unnecessary, shameful abuse of power. Hopefully next time it will just be allowed to die a natural death, like the slumlord alBOre’s vainglorious political career has!!

I have been swift-boated at the “lgf” site by hundreds of posters, so I know the feeling.

WMD’s was the reason to occupy Iraq. When none was found, throw a grenade in Saddam’s spider hole, kill his sons, get the h-ell out. Pushing democracy at the end of a gun or bomb is ridiculious.

W’s “axis of evil” and selling nuclear technology to India gives Iran and North Korea an excuse to protect themselves. China and Russia has their backs.

If you are advocating invading Iran and in the age group of 18-42, enlist. They will need your help.

The state of the Democratic Party:

Just six years ago, a Senator from Connecticut, Joe Lieberman, was a hero of the liberal left running alongside Al Gore on the 2000 US presidential ticket.

Just six years later, the good Senator from Connecticut has been ostracized from the jackass party (or is that donkey party??) because of his “moderate” views.

It’s a funny world in liberal la-la land when a man who throughout history has voted 90% Democrat on issues suddenly gets the Gestapo Jackboot from the radical leftists that have hijacked the mainstream Democratic Party.

Oh but wait me lads! We aren’t through yet! It appears that even the leftist’s ex-60s hippy #2 Prima Donna, Senator Barbara “Babs” Boxer of Kalifornia, has shown support for Lieberman. Now it appears the lunatic liberal left (L3) has their pretty pinko panties in a collective wad over that.

How sad that a party has to be so angry at it’s own because they aren’t “left wing” enough or too “moderate.”

Good luck in 2006, liberal ladies.

Oh MAN is it going to be a good election cycle this November!

Kerry self inflicted at least one of his so called war wounds, so I heard some vets say during the campaign, tellingly he refused to release ANY Nam medical records about his supposed wounds. The swift boat book says he also whined and whined to get himself moved from dangerous duty within a week or so at one point in his tour.

Tell us - just how serious were ALL his THREE wounds - I’ve met several Nam vets who were wounded far worse than kerry claimed he was and they never even attempted to get a purple heart.

How many spoiled, cowardly liberals went to Nam ARMED with a movie camera to film material for their political campaigns later?

Read the Swift Boat book - funny how Kerry didn’t ever sue them or really dispute the factual accounts, other than in a general way. Kind of like Clinton never personally denied the rape allegations by Juanita - he cynically just had his lawyer do it - once - on camera.

Well aren’t you the typical pompous hypocrite liberal.

I am not now and never have been a liberal. No one who knows me would even come close to believing that.

Your beloved party of the left is the party of hate and intolerance of diversity of opinion.

I am not now nor have I ever been a Democrat. Not that there is anything wrong with that, I am just not one.

Tell ya what clarkslager… you start complaining about your OWN party’s rhetoric before you start complaining about retaliation rhetoric.

Is the clarsklager thing supposed to be funny. I guess that proves that extremists on both sides really do have no sense of humor.

And what you are actually talking about is shameful name-calling and ad-hominem. attacks (“language appealing to personal considerations rather than to logic or reason” just in case you weren’t sure) that are practiced by extremists on both the right and the left. It’s just the sort of language that we need to do away with, regardless of who is speaking.

Republicans are like Israel now: not taking crap off anyone anymore.

Tough talk from a tough guy I guess. It kind of reminds of the unfortunate “Bring it on” comment from the President.

The point I was making is that you can get your point across, sound more intelligent, and actually be taken seriously without all the rancor, or as Foreskin likes to say bromide. It’s just not necessary.

And not everyone who calls you out on something like this is automatically opposed to you politically. I know you extremists (both right and left) love to play the victim (Oh the media bias, oh the poor persecuted Christians, oh the president lied, oh Karl Rove is sooo evil) but the fact is that victimhood is weakness and according to you, Republicans are the New World Toughguys. “I am not now and never have been a liberal. No one who knows me would even come close to believing that.”

Well if you are not, you sure sound like one.

“Is the clarsklager thing supposed to be funny. I guess that proves that extremists on both sides really do have no sense of humor.”

Actually that was a typo. Dunno what’s funny about either forum name, actually.

“And what you are actually talking about is shameful name-calling and ad-hominem. attacks (“language appealing to personal considerations rather than to logic or reason” just in case you weren’t sure) that are practiced by extremists on both the right and the left. It’s just the sort of language that we need to do away with, regardless of who is speaking.”

Fair ‘nuff. The first time I see YOU target a leftist poster with aforementioned attacks, then I’ll start listening. Until then, your pseudo-insult at “ad-hominem” and me not understanding it is just another clue at the arrogance that liberals espouse day after day after day on forums and on AM talk radio. “Tough talk from a tough guy I guess. It kind of reminds of the unfortunate “Bring it on” comment from the President.”

Clue #2 of a liberal: “tough talk.”

“The point I was making is that you can get your point across, sound more intelligent, and actually be taken seriously without all the rancor, or as Foreskin likes to say bromide. It’s just not necessary.”

Clue #3 of a liberal: a Political Snakeskin ally.

I agree Bush has sold out his conservative promise/image. His weasel like words and policy on the border is shameful. His refusal to pursue Clinton’s pardon selling and other corruption is shameful, his refusal to hand back at least some of the bile that the party of hate hands out day after day after day is also shameful. Obviously the president should rises above much of the ‘noise’ of congress etc but Bush is invariably like a deer caught in the headlights. And his defence/explanation of Iraq has ben poor too, although has slightly improved recently. he seems to think that “changing the tone is sufficient, yet he doesn’t even manage that. The irrational anti-Bush hate is hilarious but is also politically corrosive because the unelected party of hate media cynically undermines everything he does - unless they explicitly approve of it!! And this costs the US politically around the world, because he’s seen as weak, which in all honesty he isn’t always!!

The Marines were stopped in Faluga once from doing it properly and weren’t allowed to do it properly the second time because of stupid local sensitivities. A big AAAAAAMEN! to that. When Bush sucked up to Ted “Chappaquiddick Oldsmobile U-boat commander wannabe” Kennedy on education reform, I just about gagged.

Regarding the (AP) media, especially in the White House, Tony Snow seems to be slapping those pitbulls around that his predecessor McClelland could not seem to do. It’s about time somebody put that old liberal walrus Helen Thomas in her place.

However, it appears the New York Slimes and Washington comPost and CNN seem to still be up to their usual liberal suspect ways and do whatever is necessary to make Bush fail in his administration.

Nothing Bush can do will make them happy. If he does nothing but address the UN on North Korea, he “isn’t effective” according to Howard Scream this morning. If he bombs the hell out of North Korea of course, then who will be the first in line to complain that he’s being a cowboy?

Has anybody noticed that when right-wingers try to hold their own in a political forum and fire back at mindless minion liberals that we are just being “divisive?” Liberals are the FIRST group to shout “I’m offended” at what a Republican says, but yet sits there with their pretty pinko panties ironed out while Howard Screech Dean says things like “I hate the Republicans and everything they stand for.”

Ann Coulter said it best: “Liberals have two sets of rules… one set for themselves and another for everybody else who isn’t liberal.”

Oh, and for any mindless minion liberal complaining about Coulter (or Rush) being divisive: she is NOT RUNNING FOR OFFICE NOR HOLDS OFFICE like Howard Scream.

Getalife: MY POPCORN’S GETTING COLD! WE’VE never had an original thought? Most liberals have never had a thought. They’ve simply repeated the same old worn-out arguments for decades…that y’all have read in books. Liberals can’t wipe their getalife without first consulting a book for directions and then it takes both hands. When you grow up and have a family and have some REAL WORLD experiences you’ll “see the light and the error of your liberal ways” and become a dyed-in-the-wool conversative. I’ll save you a seat.

But if you read treasonous, hateful anti-Bush bile you get a deeply flawed and imbalanced world view which you then ventilate hilariously on forums!

I read a great deal too - and I actually inwardly digest it - hence the logical/factual superiority of my posts to you this afternoon

You may not agree with my conclusions of course, but my posts were mostly fact packed - yours said bugger all, mostly!!

If liberal means that I am one of the majority that believes this country is heading in the wrong direction, I guess then, I am a liberal.

I prefer American because I do not belong to any political party. I vote for the people who I think will be best for my country.

Only that fat liberal idiot pseudo-comedian Al Freaken still has airtime on 1690. How fitting that that shows of uneducated idiot Racheal Meadow (who herself said she couldn’t even hold a job at a coffee house… typical idiot liberal) and that absolute pathetic hatemonger excuse for carbon, Randi Rhoadkill, have been replaced by the likes of “Modern Ethiopian Music Hour” (that must be more interesting).

How sad that stupid liberals couldn’t even make it in the free market of Atlanta without being a moneypit. Sad indeed.

LIberals are … allaaaaaargh be praised … NOT a majority, as for the “wrong” direction, clearly that is a very loaded, self serving statement.

I dont belong to any party in this country either … but I usually vote GOP - although not for Ralph Reed …

    Brandon,

I was simply trying to let you in on a well known fact. Regardless of your position politically when all you do is spew venom and hate, no one listens to you with the exception of those that already agree with you. Do you honestly believe that anyone other than the most ardent left wingers listen to Al Franken or read his books. Same with Ann Coulter. If the people who already believed in them didn’t buy into their garbage, no one would.

Additionally, despite your inability to accept it, there are a great deal of people who are actually in the middle on most issues. To be to the left of you is obviously pretty easy. But to be to your left is cetainly not to be a liberal. But if you want to see the world in such black and white terms then fine. I’ll be a liberal for you. I’ll be your boogeyman. BOO!

I read your initial post and thought, “Here’s a pretty smart guy, too bad he can’t convince anyone of the validity of his position since he sounds like a knuckle dragging trogladyte.”

Now, after getting nothing but childish defensiveness and being called “liberal” all afternoon while I was out in the yard (and you can call me anything you want really, you won’t get to me. You lack the intelligence to anger me. So do your worst.) I realize I was wrong. You don’t sound like a knuckle dragging trogladyte.

You are the bonifide, real deal.

Oh, and I’ll be unavailable all day Monday so I won’t be able to respond to anything you have to say. So it’s a really good time for you practice your name-calling and smearing. I’ll be just like you like your enemies, unable to fight back.

Have fun. I can’t wait to see how creatively hateful you can be.

While watching news reports about the Mexican presidential election a couple of weeks ago, I saw something quite astonishing. The voters were showing picture id’s and the poll workers had books to match the voters with their id cards. Quite amazing.

Jimmy you just do not get it! The Rs are the party of bigots, polluters, gun-nuts and anti-government hypocrits. Very funny saying the Rs are for limited government, fiscal discipline, strong defense and personal responsibility! Limted government for whom? Fiscal responsibility, you have to be kidding. Strong defense as long as it is some else’s kid that is the soilder, marine, sailor or airman. Where are the steel reinforced Humvees? Where are the kevlar vests and helmets? And personal responsibility hey the first thing you right-wingers do when a misfortune occurs is yell, ‘where’s the goverment’? Next time you have a fire I suggest you call the local Republican Party headquarters for help!

“Republicans’ Pandering Unbecoming”… and your take on the suddenly-urgent issues of flag burning and gay marriage in an election year are what, exactly?

If that’s not pandering, what is?

    Clarkslawga -

You have failed for the third time now as I challenged you to show me what YOU disagree with in the Democrat party. You have no problem giving SPECIFICS about the Republicans, but yet your silence about the left is deafening. One would be led to believe that if you are TRULY “middle” like you claim to be, you’d be making SPECIFIC comments about problems in and with the Democrat party. Yet, nar a peep from you. Like I said, I can connect the dots.

Further, what is up with your fascination of the word “hate?” That is yet another gift the left likes to call on all Republicans when they read something they don’t agree with. Again, no peep out of you for the “hate” coming out of the LEADING democrat party like Howard Dean. Now, give me ONE example of what you profess to be “hate” coming from my posts. Go ahead sport! I’m all ears.

Personally, I don’t care what you or anybody else thinks about my posts. The Atlanta Urinal & Communist Manifesto is festering with liberals and the loon left, so I know that libs hate the very idea that Wooten is even in that left-leaning rag and with a blog here.

Republicans never get upset when someone espouses a different viewpoint, but boy, let a conservative fire off a couple of volleys and he should be SHUT UP!

Finally clarkslawga, it appears to me that I have said something that you know is true and you can’t let it go… it’s getting under your skin. That’s yet another example of a liberal: thin-skinned. You don’t see ME complaining about what others say, do you? Wanna know why? Because I’m a confident conservative who’s core beliefs, values, and convictions stand firm and I will not be swayed like Bill Clinton and run policies based upon what OTHERS think. If you like to run your convictions on which way the “people” are heading, then what you have to say means nothing to me.
